Food taste Amazing, even the French fries are better than Mc Donald and the Mojito better than the actual Mojito's Restaurant. The service was great and very gentle staff. If you are looking for a mix of great food, service and good environment this is your place. They have someone singing, great voice and great guy. Highly recommend this place can't wait to taste the other plates.

Yesterday we ordered a surf and turf grill (I don't know what it's called in that restaurant because I spoke on the phone) and it was A LACK OF RESPECT. I asked the lady who served me how many people it can serve and she told me it's enough for two and one person doesn't eat well. THE SHRIMP SKEWERS. He brought two shrimp. Big . But two. WHAT'S THAT ?? And so the octopus. THEY WERE PIECES OF MEAT. WHAT A HORROR. And the worst EXPENSIVE. I DO GIVE THE WAITERS A 5 Stars.

I just visited them for the first time, I am a lover of Peruvian food but I left very disappointed, we couldn't even try the food, we arrived we sat down and the waitress never brought us the chair for the baby, she never came to bring us anything to drink, He was delivering the food, talking on the phone, a total lack of respect.

I have to start by saying that the service was amazing. We had a great server. We were a party of 6. We felt that it was regular peruvian food that we can find at most peruvian restaurants for a lot less money. They try to elevate it and make it fancy by providing it in risoto. At first I thought it would not work. We went with the recommendation of the server and tried. It does work. The issue we had was that the food was missing flavor. It looked nice. The flavor was lacking. The quantity was average, definitely not a lot. The price was high justifying it only with the risoto. The restaurant ambiance is nice. They have live music. We would have enjoyed the music more if the volume would have been lower. It is so loud that it makes it difficult to hear the server and those at your table. If the price were a little lower, we would definitely go back. For lower price we can get similar food with better taste somewhere else near by. All of the staff was extremely nice.

First time here, prompted by positive reviews, although I already have a favorite Peruvian restaurant. Wanted to give this one a try. For starters, we ordered Conchitas Gratinadas, a delicious plate!. The Risotto, served as an entrée, was incredible. However, the Tacu Tacu with Lomo was a bit disappointing, the meat was dry and tough, and the fried rice and beans were burned, the plate was obviously overcooked. The ambiance is decent, but I believe improvements could be made to the table conditions and overall restoration. On the positive side, the service was excellent; our waiter was great and very attentive. Overall, it’s a nice place, but I’ll likely stick to my favorite Peruvian restaurant the next time I crave this amazing cuisine.

Ate the tacu tacu meat 🍖 was so tender and juicy with the sause that it comes with,the mix rice and beans was not as good. There take on lobster 🦞 bisque was very good so much flavor. The ambiance was nice and they also had a singer that elevated the dining experience.

Me encanto el lugar tienen un buen ambiente y un servicio maravilloso . Delicioso todos los platos que pedimos. Nuestro mesero fue Alejandro que señor mas atento y amable su servicio es incomparable simplemente espectacular nos guió en cada plato que pedimos y la verdad es que sabe de lo que habla ya que nos quedamos encantadas con cada platillo. Excelente atención al cliente. La comida NO es nada del otro mundo. Me gusto mucho la causa. Arroz con mariscos simplemente es un arroz blanco pintado con color amarillo y mariscos agregados! Los dedos de mi esposo quedaron manchados. La admosfera con la música vale la pena!

AMAZING PERUVIAN FOOD, ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE

I LOVED IT! Friends and family have been talking about this place, and we finally decided to give it a try. Service: It was a rainy Friday evening so it wasn't too busy and were sat right away. Alejandro was our waiter and was so attentive to our needs. He was excellent in suggesting all the items we ordered. We truly enjoyed his humor, professionalism, and knowledge of the menu. Very professional! Ambiance: Very nice decor, not too dark and pleasant live music. Food: We started with the ceviche sampler. It was really good! One of them were really spicy, but overall, super fresh. It had great flavor and not too citric (acid) compared to other places. We also had the Fried Roco Shrimp en Huancaina and they were truly amazing! Great taste, texture and sauce. For dinner we had the chef special. It was risotto, salmon and lobster plate. To die for! My wife and I split this meal, and it didn't disappoint! At this point, Alejandro was 3/3! Then the desert came out. We didn't even ask for menus because Alejandro just said, "I have something for you, don't worry." I don't even recall what it's called, but it was the most balanced and most enjoyable dessert I remember having in a long time. It was un merengue cake with caramel, fudge and whip cream but it was so light. The presentation on all the items was phenomenal. I can say that this little gem of a restaurant has easily become a favorite of mine and I can't wait to be back! I will say, It's not the cheapest, but what Peruvian restaurant is? lol! Plus, it's expected to pay more for seafood.

I could have given them five stars because it's a very nice restaurant with great service, ambience, and tasty food for the most part, but the ceviche was horrible and too sour, and for a Peruvian restaurant that is critical.

No digo que el restaurante sea lo peor pues no es mi intención pero vi una cucaracha y me dio mucho asco pues ya habia comido, cuando pedi hablar con el manager me dijeron que no estaba y que habían cucarachas porque era inicio de semana, sinceramente me parecio de muy mal gusto

We have been coming to El Chaman since it opened. We have always had a good experience with service and the quality of the food. However, on 4/26/23, we placed a large order for pickup. When we arrived to the house, the Huancaina potatoes, did not taste right. The sauce appeared to not have been huancaina as we know huancaina is yellow and this was like a beige color, completely tasteless. The french fries in the lomo saltado tasted like oil and were slightly burned. The ceviche order was incorrecrt. We ordered only fish on both ceviche orders and we received both with a mixture of fish and seafood. On top of that, the ceviche was supposed to be one traditional and the other was the special chaman ceviche was a different sauce. Both the sauces and the order were incorrect. The onions that are served with the chicharon de pescado were completely raw and not the way they normally come which is slighly crunchy and marinated with lime juice Peruvian style. We called and asked for the manager which was not available. We left a message and we never received a call back. When we called on 5/3/23, a week after our initial call, the manager said the call to us was pending but the reason they had not called us was because they were busy plannning for Mother’s Day lunch/dinner. Very dissapointing service which has left a mark on us, our friends, and family members that normally visit El Chaman. Thank you.

This is a undiscovered MICHELIN restaurant, I ve been to soo many Peruvian Restaurants that are amazing but only in this one they have the Risotto al Embrujo ( risotto con tinta de calamar y camarones jumbo) is out of this world, an explosion of flavors, that really deserves a recognition.

Really great experience. The waiter was very friendly and efficient. I ate a snapper with tostones, maduros and an extra side of risotto. The portions were generous and the fish was cooked really well. Delicious.

Though the restaurant was nice in terms of decor, but sadly, that's the most that I can say about my place. The dish I end up ordering is the Lomo Saltado Especial. The presentation is good. But immediately I notice that the meat seems cool. While the rice and fries are hot as they are freshly done. Though it tasted good, I kinda got a little iffy with the meat. Felt they probably mircowave it. I was with my friend and her mom. When we are about to eat dessert, turns out it was not cooked properly. The dough is still raw. When we tried to bring it to the attention to the waiter, he tried to tell us that "every restaurant cooks and prepare different." But it isn't that. It was not cooked correctly. It took us a bit of us being stern to him to not charge us on something that isn't done. Eat there at your own risk. The price isn't worth it and I wish the service is better. And staff could've been nicer and more patient. I would suggest go to another place if you want a Peruvian restaurant. Also note as I was with someone that is Peruvian, there was alot of known dishes that are missing. The menu is lacking.

The place was thankfully very pretty with calming music to set a mood. Unfortunately, the food quality was subpar and one of the servers decided to give some tone when asked a regular question. I had asked them if they had a certain dish (anticuchos) since it's a very common dish (like a ceviche is expected in most Peruvian places unless it's a hybrid with another place). It took about three times for the server to come over to ask me what I wanted as I struggled to pick a dish and I went, "Sorry. Some of the stuff I like isn't on here, so I'll stick to what I ordered" and instead of just nodding to go "kk," he had the audacity to go "Well, not all Peruvian places will serve the same stuff." Nice response rather than going "Sorry to hear" or again - just nodding it off. And he said it twice while I was struggling to pick something. Call it pickiness, but some people tend to expect "well-known stuff there" and for the record, I at least managed to find ONE thing to give it a shot, but with that sort of response, who would remain in the mood of ordering anything else? (Also, they only have bottled chicha morada. Most places actually make it, so in case if anyone's wondering about that.) I went with just an appetizer that was barely seasoned (which is a shocker) - papa a la huancaina. It wasn't terrible, but it missed a lot of the usual seasonings. It wasn't even spicy (which - fine, I get it. People can complain about it), but not even having the cream salted? Jesus - We proceeded to at least give their dessert a shot and while waiting after picking something, I noticed that the soda I had was very dirty, like a bit of soil was on it which was bizarre (and the soda was given way before any snarky comment was made). I only checked much later due having the water first. Once the dessert arrived, my mom was the first to sample it (picarones) and it tasted undercooked (underbaked would be the exact word, but it's not really a word) and that was at least ridden of in the order/receipt. I made sure to sample it, too, just to make sure, and the inside content of the picarones tasted like the consistency of mixed batter of baking a fruit bread :| I have never been this massively disappointed with some sass given throughout the whole thing. Restaurants are supposed to be pleasant and patient. I know that when a place gets super busy, some things can slide, but there was literally only 3 tables / 3 parties (super far away from each other) and maybe a minimum of 7 or 8 workers within sight. (And I haven't even gone in depth of a worker trying to open a locked bathroom door as I had to use the restroom and I had to say "busy" twice since they kept fumbling with the doorknob and she gave me a weird glare as I came out of the restroom.) If you're going to be sassy because of someone expressing their struggle rather than doing something less offensive, swap with someone else to manage a party/group of people. Most people as far as I know wants to have a good time at a restaurant. I don't really have much advice for the food quality due to the guy server going "Not all Peruvian places serve it the same way," but put some care into it. Also, muttering "sorry" at the end while returning the check means nothing. The moment was ruined already for everyone at our table.

Great place, very clean and nicely decorated. The food is amazing, we were a party of 14, ordered different dishes and they were all exquisite. The service is impeccable, kudos to Alejandro, our waitress, very knowledgeable about the menu and his suggestions were the best! Very pleased and highly recommended!

We had a reservation for the New Year's Eve meal but unfortunately my wife contracted Covid and we were unable to attend said activity. We called repeatedly to speak with the manager and he/she never called us back.We had a deposit,which they never returned to us,nor did they allow our family to use it as a credit saying that the food was already ready one day before the 31st. I consider it very unprofessional on their part and my review for them is zero not even 1

Loved the live music! Fun, dancing. The seafood cerviche was very fresh and good. We had the whole fried snapper and was great. Could use a sauce as it came with fried yuca and tostones. The deserts were very delicious and new to us. Over all a great find. We will return definitely as the menu looked full of goodness.

This is an edit from my recent visit, Four stars gratuitous 10.21.22. This place became extremely expensive! Also, be aware of the price of items in the menu. For example, mixed seafood for two has no price. I usually paid $75.00, this time it was $120.00. Also Conchita gratinados used to be $30.00 for the dozen, now it was $60.00! It is certainly my fault for not asking before, but, I was a repeat customer and while some increase in pricing would be OK, I guess, this is highway robbery... Of course the waitress should have said something, but, they tag the 17% tip so it's best if they keep quiet... I usually tip more, but, the service was lousy on top of that. They never brought the food on time, and it appeared that they forgot one meal. 3 out of 5 served first. Then the other came. When I asked for the 5th, oh yes, let me check. 10 minutes later it showed up. They also screwed the dessert. They did not bring what we asked... On the flip side, it looks like they changed the chef again. This one for the better. The food were better cooked than the previous time, and the risotto was simply amazing. However, the owner must understand the difference on willingness to give your money vs taking by... deception... Great food can be reasonably priced and if there is something dramaticly different, either they have to tell the client or place the price on the menu! That was my take.... I will soon be reviewing other Peruvian Restaurants... Now, you can read my original review, prior to my disappointment. I sincerely hope that they adjust and don't go away... This is one of my TOP Restaurants in Miami. I am updating this review on 8.29.17. The food and their presentation continues to amaze me. The flavor has always met my expectations and the overall experience is well above of some very expensive restaurants! There is a live DJ at times, that can be a bit loud, and I personally find it a bit annoying, although others seem to enjoy it very much. I dine out often, mostly in NY, and I am not easily amazed when it comes to food & flavor. However, this place would have gotten 6 stars if the scale permitted (on food and presentation). They all closed Monday & Tuesday and I do recommend a reservation especially on Friday and Saturday.

I have gone to this location millions of times and this was the worst visit that i have ever had. whenever we asked for the manager she never came because she was supposedly on a call. The food was horrible and it came in extremely small portions. Keep in mind our group was 5 people and the portions that the food came in was for a group of 2. Only good part was the waiter that we had.thay also added a 25 dollar service fee withiut us knowing about it. Never coming back ever again.

El Chamán solía ser mi restaurante favorito, no importaba si no era un restaurante con una linda vista o escondido en un pequeño mall en los adentros de Kendall, para mi y mi familia era un lugar donde siempre se comía delicioso, pero desgraciadamente esa opinión que tenía cambió. Hoy fui como de costumbre a comer al Chamán con mi familia y tuvimos varios incidentes, la comida que pedimos no estaba bien elaborada, la sopa de langosta tenia olor y sabor a ahomado, supongo que fue cocinada demasiado y lo mismo nos ocurrió con los rissotos que pedimos, no tenían sabor y estaban muy overcooked, ademas de eso, quisieron cobrarnos mas por los platos que pedimos pues según ellos los precios habían cambiado pero sin embargo no lo habían sido cambiado aún en el menú, la manager que estaba a cargo esta noche, ni tan siquiera se acercó a nuestra mesa para darnos un trato como clientes regulares que somos o preguntarnos cómo podía hacer que nos sintiéramos mejor después de los incidentes que tuvimos con la comida y con los precios que querían cobrarnos. Lo único bueno de esta noche fue el trato de la waiter que fue una señora muy amable y con mucha educación. Me da mucha pena que negocios chiquitos pero que solían ser tan prósperos y de tan buena calidad vayan a la decadencia como es el caso del El Chamán. Llevo 9 años frecuentando este restaurante y nunca me había sentido tan mal. Desgraciadamente hoy perdieron un cliente regular. Mi familia y yo no iremos mas al El Chamán, no vale la pena ir a un restaurante cuando no eres atendido adecuadamente por quienes lo manejan.

This place is by far the best "High End" Peruvian dining experience. I have been here 6 times already and tried so many different menu items each time. This was my review for past 7 years now was ruined by my 7th time going due to the service and the food went downward....oh well. Been coming here over 7 years and now it's not the same anymore. Wednesday August 11th, Waitress was terrible and the food was just as bad. I brought different family raving about this place and was let down last night. Things change throughout the years I guess. Waitress felt rushed and pushy about us drinking water and no wine, when we just sat. I simply asked for time but she then said "OK water only! and quickly grabbed all the wine glasses off our table"...I just wanted some time to ask around the table about drinks. She brought out the apps then the hot entrees then 1 last app ceviche last after entrees came out she should have brought all the apps out together.....the food was just different and they just throw a garnish small twig like a rosemary or pine branch for flair....may not come again..should've took pictures again but....the food wasn't pretty nor tasty looking nor as artful as last time.....Yeah probably won't come again.

This restaurant is hidden away but is a true gem. The food is authentic and truly delicious. The pisco was very authentic and delicious. The seafood rice, "arroz con mariscos," was fantastic as was the tacu tacu. I will be returning often.

Llame para hacer un pedido para recoger , la atención de la persona que me atendió fué agresiva . Ordené un chaufa y luego pregunté que ceviches tenia y me respondió con muy mala actictud , en tono de regaño y de molestia , que la computadora iba más lento y que apenas estaba estaba cargando el pedido , pese a su comportamiento decide seguir con el pedido , pero la verdad , todo me fue mal , la atención pésima y la comida no estaba buena, el ceviche mixto que pedí no estaba rico , me atrevo a decir que nunca me había comido un ceviche tan desabrido como este y el chaufa de mariscos tampoco estaba bueno , me hace recordar a los arroces de los restaurantes vietnamitas que no tienen mucho sabor , es la primera y última vez que compro en este restaurante, yo voy a mucho a comer a sitios peruanos por que amo esta gastronomía, pero este sitio nada que ver.

Amazing food! We've gathered this past Sunday to celebrate my mom's birthday and the whole experience from start to finish was great. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The wine was a great seller, and their food can't get better. I highly recommend this place!

The tallarin verde con Churrasco was horrible. There was this guy that worked there, I think he was the buzzer. He was really friendly and helpful.

Great food, reasonably priced, and friendly atmosphere.

I used to love this place but bad odor comes from the cigar place, food portions have been reduced extremely while prices went up. They give you 1 little bread per person and when you ask for more they charge you, not a very good service and on the top of it they charge you 17% tip included in the bill… overall the food was good. Very disappointed ☹️

El peor servicio al cliente que e tenido en mucho tiempo, hoy 05/18/2022 estuve almorzado con mi familia en este lugar y la mesera que me atendió tiene la peor actitud para estar tratando con clientes, y para terminar pedí un chupe para llevar y me lo empaca en un contenedor de arroz 🍚, y sin dame cuenta de derramo en mi carro 🚗..::: NO recomiendo este lugar y que pena que lo an dañado, un sitio con tantos años de servicio

Wow. This restaurant is a hidden gem. The service is impeccable and the food is savory. This has to be the best seafood fried rice I’ve ever had. It included shrimp, mussels, clams, crab leg, and calamari. 10/10! A must visit when in Miami!

Still great food and live music on Fridays and Saturdays. The artist is amazing and will entertain the night. The food is great, I have tried 70% of the menu and each plate is better than the last.

Normally everything is excellent. I wonder if they changed ownership because today 4/9/22 the service is terrible. There's no coordination among employees and terrible. I hope they improve.
