The best vegan Mexican food you will find in Houston. 10/10 tortas

We got the quesadillas (vegan) and elote (vegan). We tried all three varieties for quesadillas and the pineapple one was a bit too sweet for me but all three dipped in the green and red salsa were really good. They are handmade too. The elote was very good. For being vegan friendly the pricing is fair and food can be shared. I wrote this review today because I’m craving the quesadillas lol.

Best vegetarian tacos I’ve ever had!!! Ohmygosh so flavorful!!!! Food is fresh and staff is very personable!!!! They have 3 kinds….just try all 3!!!! I will definitely go back to try the enchiladas and tortas!!!!

Super enjoyed this place. The proprietors are a husband / wife team. They make everything fresh. Their street corn in a cup (elotes) was cut off the cob, not scooped from a can. Delightful ! Their other dishes were unique & I would say “Best” in category. We had a mole dish- best mole ever ! I reached out to a number of friends to recommend El Mictlan, personally. We actually drove past this place bc we didn’t know it was part of a “food truck” pavilion. The entrance wasn’t clearly marked. Worth seeking out! Fun, inexpensive, great quality & yummy.

Quesadilas were really good! Paired with the cucumber/lime drink made the meal light and refreshing.

This is one option in a food truck park with 5-6 other food trucks. El Mictlan was our choice for vegan/vegetarian. I had the Chilaquiles and my friend had the Tacos Dorados. Both were spicy, but not overwhelming and had good flavor. The server took our orders and made recommendations. He was polite and brought the food to the table quickly. Seating is outdoors on picnic tables, but they have turf in the eating area so it's not muddy. Tables also have umbrellas to provide shade from the sun. Enjoyable experience. Will try them again when I'm in the area.

The food does not disappoint! The service is wonderful, friendly and courteous! The atmosphere is ok it’s just the parking in back leaves ALOT to be desired and is nerve wrecking!

Seriously, this food will change your life. Vegan or not…it’s just plain amazing! I’m transitioning to vegan after a life riddled with allergies and illness. Folks, I used to eat a Filet Mignon every week. I miss my meat and dairy every day. However, I want to be alive to play with my grandchildren. I had three tacos, and they were so delicious. I didn’t feel like I was missing ANYTHING. My favorite one was the Carne Asada followed by the poblano pepper one. The corn was amazing, I’m going to have them put the chili on the side next time as it was a little spicy for me. Don’t be afraid of the sauces that they give with the tacos. When mixed with the contents of the tacos…amazing! Run, don’t walk to this great food truck!

The food and customer service are top-tier! But I do have one suggestion. I wish the plates came with sides (fries, chips, etc.)

Just grabbed dinner at El Mictlan's food truck tonight and their quesadilla was a total win. It's all vegan, all gluten-free, yet all flavor. You wouldn't miss the meat or dairy because they've got the taste down to an art. It's like a little eco-friendly party on a plate. Super chill vibes from the truck too, making it the go-to spot when you want your Mexican food fix but keep it green. This is the kind of spot you'll want to hit up again and again. **Came back the next day for more. It was that good lol

Top 3 vegan places I’ve had every other vegan Mexican place I’ve tried has been mid I got the 3 tacos

I ordered tacos dorados, quesadillas and an order of tacos and there were on point! Very tasty! I highly recommend this place. Antonio is an amazing cook.

This was my first time here and I love it. I am vegetarian but I decided on some vegan options and it was great. The guy that took my order was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable...I will definitely be back to try all items on the menu.

They are soooo goood! It’s been like two months since I’ve eaten here and I’m still thinking of how good it is. I normally don’t care for vegan food but i couldn’t tell the difference, i went bc my friend is vegan this is our favorite place where we can enjoy such good food!!! 💕 I do hope they add breakfast with just beans and tortas for next year in mid October toooo 🫶🤪

We had the Torta and the Sopes they were delicious and the lime, cucumber and mint, very refreshing. They were both vegan. We will be back. We were so hungry we forgot to take pictures, sorry.

I had to check this places out on my way back to Dallas. It was worth the stop. The location is unique and along is other food trucks. I was shocked how delicious the food was. The taste is very unique and no beyond or impossible meat used. Service was good and the food quality was excellent. Unique dishes with unique taste. I cannot wait to return back to Houston to try more of their dishes 🤤. 10/10 I recommend. I order the quesadillas and tacos. 😍

Unique and delicious flavors you won't find anywhere else. I tried every taco flavor and I'm glad I did! They were each amazing in their own ways. It feels like guilty pleasure food but there's definitely veggies in there. My favorite combination! An agua fresca is the perfect finishing touch on a hot day. :) loved the vibe, the food, and the sweet staff. Go check it out!

They are back and somehow they are even better!! They now have tortas and vegan elotes among other items. My favorite is still the carne asada tacos so if you go there give those a try for sure. They were able to make everything vegan for me and pretty much all their items have a vegan opintion. The street style elote was amazing though, highly recommended!

This is the best Mexican vegan spot I have been to in Texas PERIOD, been a vegan for almost 5 years and was blown away by the food, staff and atmosphere. If you’re a vegan in the Houston-Woodlands area you have to try this place

We went to El Mictlan at Backyard Social (Daq Shack). A lot of people were ordering from them and the pictures looked good but I was still skeptical since I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian but we ordered the quesadillas (like an (empanada) with poblano pepper and potato and OH MY GOSH. They were so good! Highly recommend. They were so good we ended up having to go back a few days later for more. Can't wait to try the rest of their menu. So yummy!

This place is legit. Hands down the best vegan/vegetarian food truck. Even if you're not vegan or vegetarian this should be your pick. Both my kids loved their quesadillas, and the tacos I ordered were through the roof amazing. The dude running the truck was super friendly also. I would definitely eat here again.

Thought it was fantastic. Had the fried quesadillas with poblano and the sopes. Both were very good. The quesadillas are very filling and could be shared IMO. For a vegetarian the dishes are a breath of fresh air in an area where basically all Mexican restaurants use lard. And everything is delicious. Their outdoor setup is also very cozy and artistic.

Food was delicious and seemed really authentic. The environment was super cool and fun to hang out at and the staff went above and beyond.

Extraordinary place with out of this world options for vegan and vegetarian diets. The flavor is crisp and fresh, and all the food is very healthy. The sopes are something else!

Ordered thru doordash Red Chilaquiles and added instructions No Cilantro add Onions. Well they sent me green Chilaquiles with onions overloaded with cilantro. I tried taking out the cilantro but it was so much even after removing most of it it still tasted like cilantro. Had to throw it away due to the amount of cilantro. That was $23.00 total after tip to driver, the food was $12.00.

Food is on point. Tasty, great ambience. Me and my wife had a great time eating and enjoying some great music.

Tacos dorados and hibiscus drink were so yummy! This place has a unique atmosphere inside and some of the best vegan Mexican food I’ve ever had. I would never go to another food truck again as long as this place exists!

One of the best Mexican vegan food. Very authentic and taste phenomenal. I travel frequently to different parts of Mexico and seeing so authentic and flavorful food is so phenomenal. The chef cooks with full passion and puts in so many fresh spices to keep the flavors. Recommend Chiliqualoes, tacos for sure..
