Best tacos in St Louis!! The service was wonderful, food was hot, fast, and perfect. The atmosphere isn't fancy. I will absolutely go back for take out, or a quick lunch, but it's not a date night destination. The popsicles are also amazing.

BY FAR THE BEST TACOS IN STL! I’ve tried them all, and El Toluco is my favorite! The carnitas quesadilla is amazing, and I love the chicken, shrimp, carnitas and Al Pastor tacos. Fresh, homemade and amazing, sweet owners.

Such a great spot for some wonderful Mexican food! Tacos were amazing and the tortas looked great, though we didn’t get one this time. Also super cool that there’s a small grocery store attached so you can check out some delicious Mexican goodies before you leave.

The best al pastor tacos in St. Louis! Love the authenticity of this place. On the weekends they serve menudo, a little too spicy for me but still very good. Would recommend!

This is a great place for tacos and tortas. Sometimes on Fridays they have an enchilada special which is so good. I love their refried beans the most. They have green and red (orange-ish) salsa in squeeze bottles. The people here are kind and it's always friendly. It's not fancy, but it always hits the spot and I'm never disappointed. It's attached to a small grocery and on the side of the plaza, so a bit of diligence to find it.

The food was ok, when paying they applied a "service fee" of 18% on the total of the dinner and I told them that I would leave the tip in cash, they told me that it couldn't be done because it was a fee that had to be paid no matter what. by orders of the owner, and that they applied that fee from 5 people but there were 4 of us. And they do it because they normally never leave a tip. +++I don't usually give bad reviews but it was truly a very unpleasant moment and you're right, Maggie, I know what a "bad review" can generate. I'm not lying, I'm just based on what happened. By having a business I know how important it is to take care of customers and no one was forced to leave "fee service" because that does not exist based on who knows what...

Excellent authentic Mexican tacos and excellent service.

Combination grocery store and informal restaurant. Staff and food are top shelf! Stop in for some tacos or a big tasty torta, then grab some fresh chorizo to take home.

Maybe this is a small place but it is fabulous for food. I just took a chance that it'd be good having seen it previously, well the sign that is. It was worth it to me Thank you for the great food and service.

HUGE Carne Asada Tortas, you better come hungry! This place is definitely one of the hidden gems of this town.

The people are super friendly. The tortas I would recommend! They also sell manteca - which were we're from was hard to find, so that's a plus! Their chips are amazing and are great for chilaquiles. They also sell the bread for the tortas too! Service was great. Only gripe that I would have is the day we decided to eat in, the waitress did not inform us of the specials (we were unaware there were any), we overheard her telling another patron - and it sounded good, but we already ordered.

This has become our offices default lunch spot Awesome food!

Seems alittle dodgy when you first walk in, the staff is friendly but the food has been hit or miss in my exp. But I will say when it hits, boy does it hit! Some of the best lengua tacos I’ve had outside of Texas. Solid spot if your feeling adventurous.

Always fresh and delicious! Haven’t had anything I don’t like. Tacos are always packed full, and the quesadillas are big enough to share. The Al Pastor taco is a favorite, and I tried the shrimp quesadilla as a recommendation and it didn’t disappoint.

Authentic and delicious! Lived in Mexico, SoCal, and SoFlo, so we know good tacos.

My first visit, won't be my last. I got a Carnitas torta, and it was Amazing! Their chips are on another level, they were so Good! They don't appear to be open in the evening, other than Fridays. So if you plan to give them a try I suggest you confirm that they are open. My torta was huge, it could easily fill two people. Definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic tacos inside this grocery store. I especially love that they bring out 2 different salsas, red and green. Coke in the glass bottles was especially appreciated. Can't wait to go back and try some of their orher offerings.

This place is on constant rotation for me. It’s always quick and fresh. Can’t recommend the Torta or Quesadilla enough.

Pass this place all the time and didn't realize what it was as it is hidden in the corner of the plaza. Glad we checked it out! Small grocery store up front. At first we were confused where to order but the checkout is the same place to order food. We tried 4 tacos and they were very full of meat and toppings. Flavorful and fresh!! Would highly recommend this hidden gem. Will be returning to try out more of the menu!

If your looking for authentic tacos and you're in the West county area, this is the place to go!!!!

El Toluco is one of those tucked away places that you didn't know you were missing until you eat there. The food was fantastic and the service was great! I recommend trying a torta and then taking the leftovers home for the next day's lunch!

The food was awesome, and quick service! I will be back soon. Definitely bringing my husband by on a weekend

Best Mexican food in St. Louis metropolitan area.

My wife and I found this places based on its award winning tacos and very glad we did! Picture below is of the Al Pastor pulled pork taco.

Authentic Mexican Cuisine El Toluca Taqureria is a very pleasant surprising restaurant. If looking to get away from fast food assembly line restaurants. This is the place! Large portions with a family atmosphere.

Tacos and torras are amazing. The seasoning of their meats it right on. The portions are huge specially for the torts. The service is fast and efficient. They also have items off the menu such as chile rellenos and tamales. But I’m guessing the amount made are limited since when I got there they only had one left. The prices seem a tad high compare to other taqueria around the city but you won’t find one very near to this location. The flavors are very authentic to the cuisine being served. Would go back cause of that, the flavors. The grocery store is rather small but still carries a good selection of items. They also have fresh pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread). A very good place to get items needed to make that special authentic meal you cooking.
