Not very impressive looking from the outside in the strip mall, but turned out to have an outstanding rustic atmosphere inside, with lots of fishing photos and memorabilia. A fun looking place to eat that didn't disappoint on food taste! I had the "Shore Dinner" which featured something called "Basa fish". The waitress we had didn't know much about the Basa, when I asked her where the fish was from, and explained that I always asked where fish is from because I much preferred US farm raised catfish, to catfish imported from Vietnam. She said it was just some sort of whitefish. I got it anyway and thought it was quite delicious so I was glad that I had tried it, despite Google describing Basa Fish as catfish native to Vietnam. :) I also liked the grilled corn side that came with it, but was underwhelmed by the apple sauce side that came pre-packaged in a plastic tub.

Was our first visit left miserable full and planning our next visit.

Fun fishing themed atmosphere. Walleye and other fish, sandwiches, burgers and entrees. I enjoyed the chicken Bianca special that night. We had a good server.

Really great lunch. The Basa was light and flaky, the Quesadilla was delicious and the berry cobbler was a perfect way to end. The service was exceptional, attentive without being annoying, and very friendly.

This place feels like a family owned business. We were their for father's day and they gave my dad a free piece of 7 dollar cheesecake just for being a dad. The food is great, the staff is wonderful, and the prices are good. The feel of the place is a bit dated, and the ambient music isn't my personal thing, but obviously you can't please everyone, but all of that kind of makes it feel like I'm in my parents, or maybe grandparents, living room having a family meal. All and all a good experience and I will go back. Ps the lobster ragoon are awesome

Our food was phenomenal. My husband got the walleye and I'm normally not a fan of fish, but this was delicious. I'll definitely be ordering the walleye in the future.

Delicious walleye and extremely hospitable staff and owner! My husband and I were traveling across the country with our puppy and stumbled on this wonderful restaurant. You will not be disappointed in selecting this place for your next lunch or dinner. We will be back!

Our group of hikers stopped in for lunch after our hike in Castlewood State Park. The atmosphere was quiet, yet comfortable for a Saturday afternoon. The customer service was great! Our waitress offered me samples of the chicken gumbo and roasted red pepper and Gouda soup. I went with the roasted red pepper soup and the shore dinner with the basa fish. It was so good!!! My tastebuds were extremely happy 🤗 Definitely worth a return visit!!!

Had chicken enchilada soup + walleye fillet for lunch Soup, fish and fries were very good. Went at 1 PM CT and It was not crowded at that time Service was very good and we were promptly served. Overall a very good experience. Thank you.

It’s such a legend of a place for us that grew up around Lazy River Grill! We stopped by on a Friday, had a delicious meal, excellent service! Enjoyed the Frog Juice cocktail! Still as good as I remember

Went there this past Saturday evening with a group of 7. Called about an hour before we were all meeting there and they arranged us a spacious table and accommodated our group with hardly any notice given. Nice job, all. My wife ordered a large salad. I ordered their famous frog legs. We shared the hot wings (appetizer). The hot wings were crispy on the outside and delicious with just the right amount of spice/heat. My wife enjoyed her large salad. The frog legs were quite good and honestly the best I've had since eating fresh frog legs my dad and I gigged out of the family pond in the Ozarks when I was a kid. Many reviews of this restaurant reference their frog legs and say they're fantastic... I can say that I 100% agree. The only other place I know you can even get frog legs is the Chinese buffet on Manchester ("Hibachi")- they're smaller, not fresh and not anywhere near as good. To summarize- if you're a fan of frog legs... try 'em. You won't be disappointed. I ordered two extra dirty Gin martinis, they were of course made perfect, bartender nailed it. My wife ordered a mixed drink which was a coffee beverage mixed with alcohol- she enjoyed it and the red wine she switched to after that. My in-laws ordered a bottle of white wine (they're wine connoisseurs) and enjoyed it, as well. Interior was fun. Lots of vintage fishing gear, right on down to a full-sized canoe mounted on the wall. Definitely fits the menu. Staff was courteous, friendly and patient. Our server was friendly, polite, got our orders right and was very attentive to our group's needs. Overall, a very positive experience with great food, good service and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. You can't beat it with a stick. We will be back soon.

Always friend service and great food.

I have both eaten in and taken out. The staff is friendly, but the food is average at best. The presentation is bland. I switched from a fish platter to a hamburger platter, and it has never been cooked remotely to the doneness I request., so I have given up on the place, even though it is very convenient to my house. When I order a medium burger and am promised it will still be pink in the middle, it is dry as a bone, overdone and burned on the edges - no juice left whatsoever. I've tried ordering medium rare, and it comes out totally raw. My daughter ordered a medium-well burger, and it was raw. When you do carryout, you discover this when you get home and are ready to eat, then when you call, they want you to bring it back - not worth it. It's pretty bad when a chef can't cook a burger. The decor is dark and needs updating. They raise their prices frequently, and it would be totally worth it if the food was better.

Small, quaint, restaurant serving primarily seafood. Tastefully decorated with "fishing shack" motif. Feast for the eyes and the palate! Food, prices, & service are excellent!

We took friends to your place today. They loved the atmosphere and he collects outboard motors. He was really interested how you hung the outboard motors and all the fishing items.

Lazy River is by far the most enjoyable restaurant I've been to. Their food is always excellent because great care is taken in the preparation. Always fresh, cooked to perfection. The wait-staff is friendly, truly interested in the customer's needs. One in particular, Amanda, remember's who you are, what you like to eat, and is a genuinely kind person. Please take some time and visit Lazy River Grill. One review was very unkind and untruthful about the food and service. Sounds like a former employee that's holding a grudge.

Great service and unique, delicious food. Coming here with family is always a treat, especially for Sunday dinners and their walleye festival.

The fish is always 5 stars as is the service and atmosphere. The 2 previous visits the Cole slaw was "off" so I tried the onion rings and fries this time. The fries were seasoned nicely. The onions rings had a sweet batter on them so I'll skip them and the Cole slaw next visit.

This was one of our favorite meals while visiting family in Ballwin for a week. Really nice fish and a great atmosphere. Super friendly team working there as well. It will be at the top of my list next time I’m in town.

Very friendly and attentive waitstaff made ordering easy! The Walleye and House special (basa) were both lightly fried and crispy, yet not deep fried to give a greasy feel. The baked potato and vegetable sides made a good addition to the meal, while crackers and cheese are always provided before the appetizers. Looking forward to visiting again!

Visited last night, 7/1, with my son and his girlfriend, my mom. Between the four of us, we had some Yellowstone Walleye, Lime Roasted Salmon, and a Bacon Cheese Burger. Everything was very good, including the dinner salads. The shop was full of folks and the sevice was excellent. Between lunch and dinner, I've been to this place a dozen times in the last 10 years. Always top notch food and sevice.

Had a great time with friends on the patio. Food was hot and the beer was cold. Fish and frog legs were excellent! Salads were good but uninspired. Service was attentive and food was served fast on a busy Saturday afternoon!
