A criminally underrated classic sandwich spot. They process their own meats, and instead of charging the same big prices as other sandwich spots they pass the savings onto the customer by keeping their prices low even though the quality is very high. Top job Eovaldi’s! Life Hack: Get your road trip, river trip, camping trip sandwiches from here! They stay very well!

I ordered what I wanted, they decided to switch it up and give me a completely different sandwich. Why even bother to ask what I wanted when you were clearly going to tell me what I was going to have.

Old time place. Great sandwiches, great service. Can't ask for more. Homemade dishes and sides, like soup and pasta salad. Nice to know there's still a place on the Hill to eat that's delish and affordable. We actually walked out of one of our fave places because the price on their sandwiches was more than I make an hour🥴

Best sandwiches in The Hill. Grab a Godfather or Daddy. The house made sausage they put on those two is the best.

Definitely a hidden gem!!! Haven't had anything I didn't like. My go to is build your own sandwich! Amazing food with frozen options to take home. I took a frozen pizza home as well. Definitely worth the stop. Great small family owned business! Glad I ran across this Gem! I highly recommend anything on the menu!!!

Tried a meatball sub. It was OK. No giardinera or jalapenos, but I got some gristle in my meatball.

Will forever suggest this place. Great food, great service, and the best take home pizzas you can imagine. Worth the drive from Fenton.

Unlike the place across the street, you know what you are getting and you know the line of people waiting indicating it is worth the wait. Amazing sandwiches and great staff were helpful and kind. Unlike across the street, I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Best Deli I have had in the Hill, I go there frequently, as I work near by, highly reconmend the Chicken Parm, Silician Bomber, or T-ravs.

Eovaldi's is easily one of the best sandwich spots in St. Louis. The sandwiches are DYNAMITE!!! Please go here if you haven't tried it yet. They also have frozen stuff to take home that I am eager to try.

Stopped here yesterday while visiting St Louis. Since I'm originally from Chicago where we do have quite a few great sub shops and Italian delis > My bar is set high. I'm not a fan of Subway or Jimmy Johns. I like the real deal and Eovaldis is it. First off the bread is pretty darn good. Not quite on the Gonella or Turano bread from Chicago level but still very very good. You can tell it is fresh from a bakery for sure. And I had the create your own sub > Choose 3 meats > I got Mortadella, hot Capicola and ham. As for the cheese I chose Provolone. The quality of the meat is top notch. All sliced perfectly and stacked high. The cheese was sliced thin as should be. Onions were sliced thin as well. They make a fantastic sub. I ordered the 9 inch and it was VERY BIG !!! A six inch would be plenty. Very reasonable prices > I believe the 6 inch was $7.95 and the 9 was $9.95 and well worth it . Very friendly owner taking orders. And it's a small yet charming little deli. Just what I want in a Sub and sandwich shop. Glad I chose this place when I Googled sandwich shops on the Hill. My cousin said his warm Chicago sandwich was one of the best sammies he had ever had. And we are in our 50's. They also have frozen Pizzas in a freezer along with home made sausage / Salsiccia and some other items all at extremely reasonable prices. Old time Italian Deli & butcher shop. The old "Oldani's", which in my opinion, was the best Salami on the "Hill" when I was started there since the 60's. Eovaldi family have owned it for a long time. When you go, say hello to the Matriach, Helen, and her son's Dennis and Michael will make you one helluva sandwich. Can't beat, great place!

We ordered the special sandwich and a pizza, neither disappointed! In fact, both set the bar pretty high for sandwiches and hot pizza! We felt at home and loved the Italian ambiance!

Stopped by this deli after an appointment in St. Louis and I am so happy I did. I ordered The Godfather and it was delicious! I will be back.

Great chicken parm sandwich at a fair price.

Such a unique deli... Was glad that my little brother and I decided to stop here for some lunch. The mufelata was awesome and was able to eat leftovers later on in the day since it was a big sandwich. I am looking forward to my next visit here

We stopped in and picked up a couple of varieties of salami. Hands down, the best salami we have ever tasted.

Just okay. Bread was chewy in an annoying way, both sandwiches were very dry, the olive topping on the muffuletta was overly crunchy and hard. The meat seemed to be good quality but that was honestly the only real positives I found.

Roast Beef = Messy but good! Cod Sandwich= GOOD! Steadily busy with BOXES of sandwiches going out for Co-Worker's Lunches. Dining Room full of Construction Workers, they KNOW! I will order THE DADDY next time and there will be a next time!

The meatball sub is delicious, homemade style meatballs and sauce. My husband got the Special with fresh cut meat. The bread was soft and had a nice flavor. The gentleman making the sandwiches was nice and funny making jokes with us while making the food. Nice little spot on The Hill.

Extra special is the best classic Italian deli sandwich. Period. End of story. Not that I've tried them all. But that's only because every time I want a classic Italian sandwich, 95% of the time I come here. Because I know what I'm getting and it's delicious.

If you don't visit this establishment without trying the meatball sandwich you are missing something special. Perfect. I am not even Italian.

What a great spot! We were in town and were looking for a place for lunch with a local flavor. The person who took our order was very welcoming and made us feel like we were long time customers. My wife got the meatball sandwich and I got the Chicago style. They were both fantastic. I will absolutely make a return visit the next time I'm in St Louis.

If you order - "make your own style" - turkey without this or meatball with no onions or your choice of meats, then don't judge - just go to snubway. Order what they specialize in! Chicago Style, Godfather, Extra Special Etc. Bomb sandwiches. 💣

What a great sandwich the meatball was fantastic

I ordered 2 large party trays for my husbands surprise party. One was the special and the other the extra special. They were both fantastic!! The bread was great, they were loaded with meats and the condiments were not overpowering!! I would definitely order again and highly recommend. Also when I went to pickup they brought them out to my car, what great customer service.

Gramophone and Gioia's have competition. Probably the best sandwich I've found in St. Louis or maybe in life.

Look, I had no intentions of eating here at all. I rented a house for the new years weekend in the area and stopped here to grab a few drinks for the house. While inside I was overcome with the smell of deliciousness that I could not ignore. I ordered a random sandwich, I don’t remember the name and to this day I dream about that damn sandwich. You ever dream of a sandwich? You will if you eat here, I promise! I will be back, it’s 3 hrs away and it will be worth the trip I guarantee it!

I’ve gone to most sandwich shops in StL. Great sandwiches and great service here. If you like mom and pop shops (or not), it might be the best sandwich shop/deli in StL.

Deli-deliciousness worth a trip. Note to new customers there isn't many places to eat. 'Pick it up' and enjoy at your place of choice. My sandwich was so good that a weeks later I am thinking of driving back to that area to get another. It would be at least a 40 min drive for me.

Came in looking for an amazing deli and definitely found it! Sandwiches were made fresh to order and the toasted ravioli didn’t disappoint. Best deli sandwich my wife and I have ever had. From out of town and I would make it a point to come here when in STL. Additionally the staff was super friendly and treated us as if we were regulars. Price for the 2 sandwiches (one 4.5 and one 6) we got and toasted ravioli with tax was under 25!!! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Came in from PHX and was our first time on the Hill! The raviolis were delish and the garlic butter sauce was heaven. Also had the sausage sandwich and it was sooooo good!

I have a few restaurants that I love around this town, but this one is my favorite and has been for 20 years. The Godfather is the best sandwich ever made. Their meatball sandwich is incredible. The prices are very good and the serving sizes are huge. If you've never been, do yourself the favor. Such a fun little shop run by some wonderful people.

Come in here all the time. Everything is wonderful. I highly recommend their chili, chili Mac, veal parm, meatball and/or salcissia sub, gnocchi, chicken soups, and roast beef. The Sicilian bomber is definitely up there too. Also it is very well priced. You must go here for lunch when visiting the hill.

The first bite to last on my 12in. Well I could only eat the first half. The flavors mixed on the Godfather Sami is so... Well you just have to try it. And then I took a meatball home and man... It was like me being 5 remembering what I thought subway used to taste like. Lol I say that with the highest compliments. Bc when your a kid everything that's awesome, is just awesomer haha. This place is truly a gem I can't wait to come back to. I live over an hr north of STL and yes. It's worth it. I happened to stumble across it by sheer chance buying on Facebook marketplace.

Best meatball sandwich in the world

A decent "hole in the wall" deli. I don't like the sandwiches being made in the back. Most of the food on display in the freezers is not made in house. I would say about 50% of it is made in house. The big bottles of ingredients give it that "Jimmy Johns" appeal. The meatball sub is a good staple sandwich here. The Godfather sandwich was a little too much sandwich for me. The sautéed mushrooms and gravy gave it a confusing flavor profile. Some of the sausage and deli meat on display for sale looked very fresh although I did not try them. They offer some gourmet Fitzs soda to wash down your sandwich. I think some new lighting and a hvac service(uv light/filter) might give it that fresh aesthetic. Location being in The Hill matches perfectly with the cuisine being offered.. Overall great place to come and enjoy some gourmet sandwiches with friends and family.

Love the sandwiches. Nice people. I had to check in on this place and see all the awesome reviews. They are not wrong! Found this gem by chance a few years ago with the meatball sandwich special sign outside. Been a love affair since! I have tried a few but can't get past the Chicago Style, Godfather and Muffaletta long enough to try the others

I chose this place due to high ratings. Some things just are not as good as they seem. I did enjoy my sandwiches (Daddy, and the Sausage) the sauce was the right viscosity vs the bread meat ratio without the sandwich left dry or dripping. Although they were good, they seemed to lack flavor. I'll try another sandwich next time, can't judge it all by one visit.

The meats are absolutely delicious but the muffaletta sandwich was absolutely terrible. Almost zero olives on it, the olive salad was absolutely loaded with large chunks of celery and onion and was disgusting. The bread was mediocre and they ran out and have me half of the sandwich on French bread without asking first. The meats were insanely good though.

I have had sandwiches from all over the St. Louis area, one particular sandwich to me defines whether I go back. The Meatball sandwich. Not every place does meatballs right, too dry, too moist, too saucy, too big, too small, not enough sauce. Well I have to say I had "The Daddy" today. It was an absolute perfect sandwich, not dry, to dripping with sauce, just the perfect amount of EVERYTHING! The bread holds up against the sauce, the sauce is not thin but holds well in the sandwich, the Salacia in it just adds another dimension to this sandwich! AMAZING!! Cannot wait to go back!! My new go to sandwich place!!
