Lebanese falafel experience vibe

I almost don’t want to write a review because I want this place all to myself! I’ve ordered take out twice and both times were incredible. Large portions, everything flavorful and fresh, and very reasonably priced. Especially loved their beef kabob! They should call themselves falafel’s-on-fleek.

I may have caught them on an off day but it taste like the food was drowned him in hummus to hide that it wasn’t fresh. The falafel tasted old and the tomatoes in the pita sandwich were very mushy. The shwarma tasted old too. I will say the staff was extremely kind, so it might be worth giving it a shot for yourself. We all like different things.

Tried their falafel a chicken kebab plates. Loved every bite especially the falafel of course, and the tahini covered lettuce and tomato. I ordered the plate but ended up making my own little wraps anyway as it comes with pita bread. The owners are very friendly and most of the people coming in were obviously regulars and I loved that! Will return soon!

THE OWNERS MOM AND DAD ARE SUCH NICE WARM HEARTED PEPOLE, BEST SHAWURMA IN THE PLANET EARTH HAD THE PITA TRI TIP AND THE CHICKEN LULU AND THE FALLAFEL WILL COME BACK EVERYDAY AND EVRYTIME IN HOLLYWOOD CA!

Shawarma was 3/5, not what we expected.

Today I stopped by to eat shawarma sandwich at the this place. I’m foody person. I would like to enjoy the good meal. I just made couple bites then I couldn’t eat it, bread was very wet and mushy, I couldn’t taste the shawarma because of too much sauce. I hope they pay attention to make better food.

My favorite sandwich shop in LA. This Arax is family run. Their chicken sandwich with garlic sauce is unbelievable. We love their shwarma in pita and tongue sandwich. My kids enjoy the lule kabob without onions or tomatoes. 2023 This place is still bomb. My favorite sandwiches sold here. I wish I lived closer to this place.

Styrofoam heaven with just ok food. That pretty much summarizes this place. Was told they had the best falafel in all of LA (Los Angeles? Little Armenia?). If that's the case, then things must be really bad with Middle eastern food in LA. The falafel wasn't necessarily bad, but it had absolutely no herbs that are so essential to a good falafel. Falafel when cut open should be dark green for all the herbs, but just look at the photos... And styrofoam containers in 2023, seriously ? How are they still legal ? In fact, we ordered for eat-in, but still everything came in styrofoam. Sure this place is a hole in the wall, but at least get some paper or otherwise compostable containers, not disgusting styrofoam. On another note, the bathroom upstairs is pretty dilapidated and neither men's nor women's had any soap. Pretty gross. The restaurant should ensure there's at least soap available- it's a food establishment for crying out loud .

If you like falafel, this is the best place to go. Their falafel is very tasty and crunchy and according to my Armenian friends, it definitely taste and feels like their home country. I have tried several other sandwiches there such as shawarma and tongue (which unfortunately they discontinued) and it was delicious.

The absolute best Falafel & Shawarma in Los Angeles (period)! They've been making their simple, phenomenal food the same way for 40 years. Every time I stay in LA, I have to visit.

One of the OGs in LA. Their kitchen is always putting out great product and consistently. I always make it a point to stop by when I'm in the area.

Love this place from going with my dad after sports on Saturdays. To going whenever i come through Hollywood. The Falafel Sandwich always hits the spot. The Shawerma, chicken panini, and soujoukh are all on the must try list. A++ quality flavor perfection has not changed in 27 years I have been eating it!

Very friendly staff. I had the Shawerma sandwich and the garlic chicken sandwich and they were both great. I recommend opting for the French bread because it tastes amazing after they press it. If I lived closer, I'd be a regular.

While shopping in the area I stopped in to Falafel Artax for a quick bite. The restaurant is clean; Serving delicious Mediterranean cuisine. I simply had a Falafel and enjoyed it.😋 Friendly, and honest management. I will definitely be back to explore the menu further.

Everything is great. Falafel is the best in LA. People are very nice and welcoming. I recommend it for sure if you are looking for Middle Eastern foods.

They are not friendly at all… I came in as the only customer and was immediately met with rudeness for asking if what I ordered was a sandwich or a plate… I got it to go, and the shawarma was decent, but way too much sauce… impossible not to spoil in my car, also, poorly wrapped. I wouldn’t recommend coming in here, maybe to go orders are better

I got the “Kebab Combo” with no rice, just salad. The meats were cooked perfectly and all were well seasoned. The hummus was a great addition to the whole meal and it was probably my favorite part. The customer service is great and with a smile. Not too much seating inside and parking can be hard to get. I’d definitely come back again.

My husband grew up in the neighborhood so it has a special place in our hearts, especially with the pandemic and older generations passing. The food is great, and is still a great value. Perfect for take out, late nights and lunchtime. Let's not forget the garlic sauce 😋.

Fantastic family owned/run takeout (limited indoor) joint (19 years in Little Armenia) with fabulous (naturally!) falafel, plates, wraps, and a-la-carte. Sandwiches also superb. Everything fresh and made to order. Tues-Sun.

Best made fresh on-the-spot falafel sandwich. Incredible Chicken Garlic Sandwich in French roll bread. If you like to explore and challenge your taste-bud then ask for the "Tongue" (Lingua/Le-zoo) sandwich. Family owned. Limited seating. Great carry-out.

An LA Classic 5-Star Eatery By FAR, the best Falafel sandwich in town. Everything else is good to delicious but Falafel is their true claim to fame. My understanding is that the owners or their family had a famous Falafel stand in Beirut, Lebanon. So they come with a great pedigree and it shows. A+

This small and original family owned and operated hole in the wall never lets you down and has been consistent with taste, quality and service. I’ve periodically eaten there for the last 30 years and unconditionaly recommend their sandwiches and dishes. By far they’re the authority and have the best chicken press sandwich with s side of pickled turnips. Also try their shawarma.... you’ll thank me in your prayers👍😋

This will be a very short review. I went to the Hollywood location on Santa Monica and had the chicken kebab plate, it was amazing and a lot of food. The chicken was cooked perfectly, served on a bed of REAL pilaf with a side of vine tomato, humus and a fresh pita. I'm amazed how some restaurants can't get this simple meal right, this is not so at Arax, it was perfect and I will be back. My visit was around 6:00pm and the place was quiet. This is a cash-only establishment. Good food, good people.

Fantastic Falafel, Shawarma, and Chicken sandwiches. YES. Said FANTASTIC. Very true to the original sandwiches you get in Lebanon. Full of flavor and good to the last bite. For other more exotic flavors, try the tongue or Soujouk sandwiches. Just as good. Don't miss out on the pickles. Yummy crunchy tart turnip pickles. DROOLING yet? Go get one........... OR two........... OR even three of the specialty sandwiches. You won't need fries with that.. :)

Fuimos para comer Falafel aunque tienen gran variedad de bocadillos, ya que nos habían comandado de tener el mejor Falafel en Glendale, el bocadillo en si era bastante grande y de sabor mu buena, con un bocadillo uno se queda bien satisfecho, lo mismo paso con mi mujer que pidió bocadillo de pollo que también con un tamañio bastante grande, en contra de otros que son de tamañios mas reducidos

The food is delicious and the portions are huge, if you do not eat that much, 1 combo is enough for 2 persons. The owner is a nice person as well, its interesting to go there and get a good food to eat at home!

The best sandwiches! You cannot go wrong. The roast beef sandwiches are amazing! From the bread to their pickles and sauce it is great. Falafels to roast beef, you will not be disappointed!

This is one of our family favorites when it comes to middle eastern food, and we live in Riverside! However, the drive is well worth the quality of food and they are reasonably priced! Truly a gem!

Lunch can be dreadful. A serious Falafel sandwich can hit the spot. Everybody claims to know the best place for such sandwich. I found the best place, its on Santa Monica, and being a true aficionado, i can assure you this much. Taste this falafel, make it the barometer, and watch how bad it could be. But then, my favourite is the meanest chicken panini you'll ever taste (easy on the garlic if you are not a vampire). Let's not forget the fresh shawarma wheel turning (all beef). and the price is that of a footlong ! True gem, and great friendly mon and pops (and kids) operation. Enjoy

Heard about this place from several Armenian friends who said it was very good. Finally had the chance to give it a try and man oh man, were they right! The chicken sandwich was so delicious that I thought about it for a few days afterwards! It's basically a shawarma but the chicken and garlic sauce on very fresh French bread are pressed like a panini. So simple, yet so amazingly good. The beef shawarma was also among the best I've had. It's an order at the counter place - with 3 or 4 tables if you want to eat in - but they also do a lot of take-out. Don't let the small strip mall scare you away - this place is a true find!
