We arrived too close to closing time and started to leave when the owner called us back. He said no one leaves empty handed and gave us ribs and chicken, potato salad, baked beans and desert so we could experience the food. He won us over with his friendly manner and delicious Southern cooking. We will return!

Best BBQ ribs and delicious chicken wings "hole in the wall" that I've been to in Pensacola. I ordered the 'Ty's Best of Both Worlds ' that has chicken wings' ribs and fries.The pulled pork sandwich was amazing. We asked for the secret "PB" sauce over the fries, which was out of this world!!! The service felt like being at home. Portions will fill you up for sure. I definitely and highly recommend eating here if you want a taste of fantastic BBQ type food. I'll be back for sure.

Let me tell you! I have been searching for a good soul food place in pensacola… I found it!!! The chicken crispy and seasoned well! The grilled shrimp had this type of sauce made in house! The yams stuffing amazing the yams amazing tasted like stuffing and that mac n cheese was second to none!! Will be making this my lunch spot at least 3 times a week! Thanks yall for the customer service and for getting me in & out before yall closed! -Sean

I have been trying to get some food from this place for months. But today God smiled on me. As I pulled up this nice gentleman was coming out. So I asked were they open because I've been wanting to try the food here. I heard its great. And the gentleman said you never had Family Tys. I said no Sir. So he said wait right here i'll be right back. Mannn, this gentleman came out of Family Tys with three pieces of chicken, green beans, Mac & cheese and some slap your moma strawberry punch. Then said no charge. You cant tell me God ain't good. Baby i went back to work looking crazy. All of it was so Gooooood! I can promise you I will be returning with a crew. Thank you Family Tys for you awesome gift to our taste buds and awesome customer service.

I have been looking forward to trying out Tys for a long time and I finally did. It was well worth the wait. The girl who took my order was friendly and knowledgeable and explained the orders to me. The strawberry lemonade was so sweet and refreshing. I ordered the Gulf Coast sandwich and a side of seafood rice. The rice was pretty good. But the sandwich, my oh , it was soooo good. The steak and shrimps were perfectly seasoned and cooked. It sat on a warm buttery toasted roll. I could order this meal over and over. There's so many other good things on their menu to try, and I surely will. I would honestly just go there for some of that strawberry lemonade. Definitely a great spot for lunch or dinner.

The food is superb I will give 5 stars to everything. The only thing I have a complaint about is that I drive 1hr and 30 minutes to come eat and that past 4 times you all were closed :(. I always check google and it says you are open but when I get to the facility there is a note on the door saying you are closed. Is there a way when you all do close could you leave a note on your answering machine.

Best soul food you will ever eat! Every single item and entree is impeccably tasty. The greens are off the chart super delicious!!! Wings are finger licking good. Ribs are tender and juicy. Great location and atmosphere. Kid friendly. Prices are exceptionally reasonable, and portions are HUGE. Owner Ty is the kindest, sweetest man, along with his precious Momma and staff. I'd give them more than 5 ⭐️'s if able.

Drove up from Orlando and always look for good, local establishments. We knew right away when we walked in that we picked the right place by the number of locals enjoying their food. When we ordered from Thalia (the owner's daughter) her passion and friendliness made the visit more enjoyable. Her father Ty) came out to greet us when he learned we came up from Orlando. I can see where Thalia gained her passion for the business. She and her father work hard to please and make you feel welcome. The food is great. The service was great. It's a pleasure to frequent a locally owned establishment and feel the warmth generated by the owner and everyone who is associated with the place. Thanks to all for a great experience.

I feel some type of way they will give you old ribs tasted bad 2 out 4 was too hard to eat and other two tasted days old I paid too much for left over food should be 50% off , thrown away or it should be the customer choice. I don't want any old food my stomach has been hurting since that's the only thing I ate. I ate only two ribs and my cupcake needed to be thrown away too once that fruit on the cupcake ferment no I don't want it... the older ladies are so sweet because of them I hate to do this review

Please eat here, this has to be the most underrated restaurant in Pensacola!! My wife & I visited Family Ty's on our first day moving to the city, and we were blown away by the flavors & diverse menu. We've come back twice since then, and every time they somehow only get better! Free homemade lemonade for our first time visiting, and the second time we visited the owner struck up a conversation with us- he was so friendly, and actually brought us a whole serving of ribs, for free, just because we hadn't tried them yet and he wanted us to experience it! You can tell the main ingredient is love because everything is literally perfect- we keep bringing our friends here and won't stop anytime soon. Try it out!! (The Philly Cheesesteak is my personal favorite thing on the menu)

We were looking for a caterer in Pensacola Beach for our high school baseball team and their families (70+ people) from Oklahoma on Spring Break for the Aggie Classic Tournament. They were the most friendly on the phone, most responsive, easiest to get info from and won the opportunity at the first connection. The menu was flexible, customized perfectly, and priced fairly! The communication prior to our event was clear and excellent. The food arrived on time and every item was on point! Wings, ribs, seafood rice, steak rice, mac & cheese, and baked beans! Great service! Happy players! Happy families! Happy me!

Got a phone call today that the person providing dinner for our meeting was out of town and I was asked to do it. Call Family Ty’s and they were Awesome. Very reasonably priced and food was excellent.

The fried pork chops tasted like my mother’s and that’s a good thing. I also had the collards, yams and cornbread. The portions were very generous so I have enough for another meal. It was so nice to find a restaurant with homemade food and all the employees were so friendly. Oh yeah, the strawberry lemonade is to die for. I can’t wait to eat there again

I am so amazed with the service and overall experience that my fiancé and I received at Family Ty’s today for our wedding tasting. The food was to die for! Absolutely delicious. Could definitely tell that Ty takes pride in his work and cooks with love! If you haven’t tried, you are missing out!

We love this place! To start, the staff is so friendly you feel like you’re really in a family atmosphere. The food… AMAZING! We’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s always so good. You can truly tell the food is fresh, prepared to eat, and seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend!

Had a quick lunch with the wife and Family Ty's was a good spot to do. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious. It had a good sauce and the smoke on the pork comes through and gives it an extra zing in flavor. Well worth the stop.

We ordered the uptown seafood rice, ribs, pork chops, okra & cabbage. The okra was breaded with corn meal which I haven’t found anywhere. The food was hot & fresh, nothing greasy & some of the best soul food I’ve ever had!! Ty, the owner was so refreshing. The free first timers strawberry lemonade & cupcakes were the extra special little something we didn’t expect. Ty has the gift of hospitality as he brought us samples of other menu items & asked those of us in the dining room what we would like for him to cook. You can tell he loves to cook for his guests !! One trip here & you’ll want to come back & try everything on the menu - We’ll be supporting this local business.

My husband and hosted an event using Ty as the caterer. The service was impeccable. Mr. Ty was very helpful and patient with me making my choices. The food was awesome. I had the pleasure of having your seafood rice, chicken, pasta and corn. My brother and sister , the Nisbett’s, ordered for their son’s graduation dinner. Everything was absolutely delicious.

Went to a graduation party and the food was delicious especially the seafood rice. Nice big shrimp as well as little shrimps. The jerk chicken was also a fave of mine Everything was top tier and delicious!

Best soul food I found on the Northern West Coast hands downs, customer service amazing very homey and friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. I rated it a 10 out of 10 all together also will recommend it to anyone I come into contact with. My go to is generally on the menu normally are the 10 lemon pepper chicken wings, my wife generally likes the ribs, but truthfully, we’ve had catering at the church from them and there’s not a thing on the menu I wouldn’t eat.

We LOVED our experience. Ty came out and chatted with us, and gave us the run down on all the dishes we ordered. The best of both worlds with ribs and sweet n spicy wings and a side of Mac was phenomenal, and the gulf coast sandwich was delicious. My favorite out of this first visit has to be the seafood rice. Absolutely delicious and loaded with crab, shrimp, and crawfish, and topped with a garlic seafood sauce. My husband fell in love with the fried shrimp and hot sauce (this is a special and I’m blanking on the name). Don’t leave without one of the lemonades either! Amazing customer service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Long story short, I can’t wait to go back and try more.

This place is a gem! The food is delicious. And the owners are so friendly. We had the cheeseburgers, seafood rice and steak sandwiches. Everything was amazing! Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. The restaurant itself is,well, a little rundown. But the food and people are wonderful.

My husband and I discovered this place recently and it has everything we could ever want from a restaurant. Everyone is friendly and makes you feel welcomed. The environment is clean. And the food is the best food we have ever had. My husband said this is exactly the kind of place he has been looking for. Good southern food with variety. The wings are the best my husband has had especially with all of the different flavor options. The ribs are incredible as well as the fried chicken. The fire shrimp is also perfect and if a place has good shrimp you've got my husband for life. Not to mention everything is cooked perfectly. The wings aren't drenched nor are the ribs if you decide to get sauce on either one. The fried chicken is seasoned great and the fried shrimp is just perfect. And that's just the entrees. The sides are great as well but the one side that stands out are the fries. The flavor and seasonings they use are incredible. We cant recommend Family Ty's "Good Eats" enough. Everyone seems so genuine and are CONSTANTLY checking on everyone to make sure they're taken care of. This is the type of establishment we need more of and we are grateful. Everything is truly perfect.

We had macaroni and cheese, collard greens, sweet potatoes, potato salad, and cornbread. First-timers get a free strawberry lemonade, If you let them know! Portion sizes are great. I wish this had 100 stars to rate them!!!! My mom and I decided to give Family Ty’s a try today. My mom heard about it from Ty’s father-in-law who lives in the same community as my aunt. Mom ordered the pork chops, greens and potato salad. I had the fried shrimp, greens and mac& cheese. Both dinners also came with delicious cornbread. I can not express to you how good everything tasted. Shortly after getting our food Ty brought our some ribs for us to taste along with 3 different type cupcakes. The ribs were so tender they fell off of the bone!!!! The taste was truly the BEST I have ever had. Let me not forget but the cupcakes were the icing on the cake. Family Ty’s we will definitely be back again!!!!! I will be spreading the word at how awesome everything was.

I made my order to go through Doordash. When I tell you I couldn't wait to eat my food! It smelled so good when I picked it up that I actually just sat in the parking lot to eat. (Not that I wouldn't have eaten inside; the restaurant is cute and welcoming.) I got the Best of Both Worlds with creamy garlic parmesan wings, ribs, and fries. The wing sauce was phenomenal. I thought I would be getting pulled pork instead of ribs, but that seems to be a problem with the Doordash description. Google photos of the menu say ribs. I probably would have preferred the pulled pork just because that's my preference, but the ribs were tasty. And I got to have their strawberry lemonade, which tasted authentic and delicious, really the best lemonade I've had at a restaurant. Looking at others' pictures, I really want to try some of the other dishes, so I hope I'll get to go back soon!

I want to give a big shout out to Family Ty’s restaurant on 9 Mile Road in Pensacola Fl. I celebrated my 60th birthday on September 4,2023 and they did an amazing job on catering the event. They went above and beyond on the food. They got me everything that I asked for and then some. I appreciate Mr Ty and staff and they will always be my catering service. If you have not had them you definitely need to check them out, you will definitely be going back. I highly recommend them.

The food is awesome and reasonably priced good and they have the best desserts and the strawberry lemonade is the bomb let me tell ya!!!! Come shop with Family Ty’s you won’t be disappointed.

We have been on several occasions. A few of which were take-out orders, and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the food is absolutely great home cooked soul food. The have yet to disappoint.

Ten stars if I could. This place is absolutely amazing. The food is incredibly great. We got a fried pork chop special and a fried fish special with collard greens, fries, fried okra, potato salad, fresh salad with some type of strawberry vinaigrette and cornbread. All the food was just phenomenal. This is home cooking soul food at its best. Collard greens wonderful, fried fish and heck all fried foods were delicious, the batter they fry in is awesome. The sides were delicious. The cornbread is moist, and let me not forget to mention the best homemade strawberry lemonade with chopped up lemons and strawberries in it. Everything was top notch. The employees were so beyond great, super friendly and because it was our first time there very accommodating and let us get a small sample of other sides so we know for next time. This place is a gem, kinda hidden in the corner of the plaza. I promise you will love the food and the portions are generous you will go home full and feeling great. We will be back again and again, best spot in Pensacola in my opinion. Go get you some.
