Visiting from out of town and LOVED this spot, great baked goods and super friendly staff!

It was our first time there, and the staffer that helped us could not have been more helpful! Highly recommended, they were busy and still took the time to walk us through their offerings, and got us on our way in no time. Food was very filling and unique. You won’t regret going there.

We visited this place on our way to Seward and what a great place discovered. Here is the summary of our experience at this bakery heaven: 1. Ambiance 5/5: This place was brimming with people and you can clearly see employees baking hundreds of fresh breads, scones, and everything drool-worthy. The place has a great vibe and was very busy 2. Service 5/5: Even though the place was crowded and superbusy , the counter person was friendly and the service was fast. 3. Food 5/5: We ordered a lot of food and bread - some of which I do not remember now but one thing is for sure - if you are looking for freshly baked items with great and unforgettable taste, then this is the place to be in. For breakfast we ordered, a) Breakfast (yes it is called breakfast): It is good for 1 person but insufficient if you are very hungry. b) Chicken Ceaser: It's a cold wrap that is delicious and good enough for one person. c) Different types of bread: We ordered a couple of big loaves of bread and finished within minutes 4) Value for Money 5/5: Although some might say it is costly but when you take into account the freshness and taste, this is a complete value for money and a breakfast that you will remember. Overall. If you are ever visiting Anchorage, this place should definitely be at the top of your list for breakfast. A must-visit for everyone The Good: 1) Everything - the baked items, the coffee, and the breakfast was delicious Not so good: 1) Parking in front is limited and is not free in any place nearby

Delicious bakery in downtown Anchorage. Breakfast sandwiches are really good.

Great little shop for incredible breads and pastries. My husband opted for the Alaska berry scone which was huge and flavorful. I opted for a couple Parisian Macaroons. Once at room temperature, they were amazing! Prompt service and an incredible staff making everything right there!!

YUMM! Loved the chicken caesar sandwich and chocolate filled croissant! Definitely stop in!

Stumbled in here today, while staying at the Marriott (just couldn’t stomach the Marriott breakfast prices). Wow! The Alaskan berry scone was amazing with some great coffee to wash it down with. It’s walking distance from the Marriott and a better and cheaper alternative to whatever they serve for breakfast.

A True Gem for Bakery Lovers! As a French person who takes bakery seriously, I can confidently say that Fire Island Bakery in Anchorage is a true gem! Their breakfast sandwich and beet sandwich are simply amazing, and honestly, everything I've tried here is top-notch. The quality and flavor are outstanding, making it a must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates good bakery items. I would definitely recommend this place—it's a standout in the city!

So good we came two days in a row while on vacation. We shared a small cake on the second day and it had amazing flavor and texture and just the right amount of sweetness (and it was so pretty, too!). Wish we had a place like this back home.

Did not have a lot of gluten-free options, but what they did have was delicious.

I stopped in for a quick dessert after a bike ride. There was a decent line but service was fast and friendly. My chocolate chip cookie was soft and delectable!

Ate everything too quickly for pictures, but everything was outstanding! Long line (I can see why), but it moves very quickly. Staff was really friendly. My husband and I both agreed it was our favorite scone we’ve ever had. Contemplating a second stop later today before we fly home, it was THAT good!

Amazing product. Ridiculous prices. Just not right. In Italy you get two cappuccinos and two cornetti for €6. Here they want $4.50 for a muffin and $14 for a loaf of bread. The dollar is devalued, but this is just greed.

Food is not made to order , they often run out of items and make you feel like you are in the wrong for wanting something on the menu . If you want a good sandwich go somewhere else . The meat is very small portioned and your loaded more with Kale than Farmer on a hot Monday .

TLDR; great bakery with quality products. We came in at 7am sharp and there was already a line waiting at the door to be let in. The line does move fairly quickly though and gives you time to go over the many options they have. We for a vegetarian breakfast sandwich and a ham and cheese croissant which were both very good. I’m hoping to come back here and try some of their sweet baked products before we leave.

My wife and I go here every summer when we visit my folks. We usually order the breakfast focaccia which is freshly made. Their coffee is amazing so I usually go with an americano which is made with a manual espresso machine! Go check it out.

Friendly people, who are willing to help you out, and good presentation is so beautiful Bread is so fresh, more to that, variety of pastries and these looks so yummy and pretty. I will definitely come back and taste different things. THE BEST scorn I ever had, I had Alaskan berry scorn, buttery, fully, crunchy, all the flavors and texture were amazing!! ( I actually met the pastry chef who made this recipe, she was amazing! )

The baked goodies & egg sandwich didn’t make the picture because it was that amazing! I had tried the Caesar chicken salad sandwich that had the perfect amount of crispiness on the bread! The ham & cheese croissant was hands down one of the best croissants i’ve ever had!

At first glance, I couldn't understand the hype surrounding this place. It looked like just another regular bake shop, and the long line outside didn't help my initial skepticism. However, my experience completely turned around once I gave it a try. I ordered a chicken Caesar sandwich and a chocolate croissant. When I asked for ketchup or hot sauce, the waitress looked at me in disbelief and politely said no. I was a bit taken aback but decided to dive in without the condiments. From the first bite, I was in heaven. The flavors were incredibly rich and utterly amazing. The chicken Caesar sandwich was perfectly balanced, and the chocolate croissant was decadently delightful. I highly recommend you try this bakery out—it's truly worth the hype!

I honestly was blown away by the smiles on the employees at 630 on the morning. The owners are doing it right. Plus their product is something to envy and enjoy. Thank you for your chocolate cake! They are amazing on a birthday!!!!

This is Anchorage's very best bakery, plant store, shop with many artisan products and eating establishment for snacks, having lunch and buying to-go baked items and foods!!!

Got all of their tarts, chocolate cake, a dozen chocolate chip cookies, and a mocha from the attached shop. I love their mission of using quality ingredients, but I have to say $11 per tart and $30 for a dozen cookies is rough, even in Anchorage. Service was great. They dedicate what seemed to be 3-4 people just for the ordering process, while 10+ were hard at work behind the counter making fresh products. Awesome vibe and beautifully decorated. Definitely going to be back for their bread soon.

I love coming here and stopping by at least once a week! All of their food and pastries are absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly and super helpful, with the wait time never being more than a minute or two.

First time here. Had the ham and cheese croissant. Very good. Surprised that my coconut macaroon made it home! Also got a fresh pressed juice from Johnny's Produce.

Nice little bakery with a restaurant, small market, and wine shop attached. The on-site bakery makes all sorts of goods such as breads, scones, cookies, etc. The bread leads to good sandwiches, which leads to salads, and coffee, etc. Overall, a good experience.

Had a few baked items from here for breakfast and they were amazing. The brownies were great, moist, not super sweet, but still very chocolatey. The cinnamon bun was also amazing. We came in about 11 and they were sold out of all croissants, wish we could have tried them.

Everything was very good, I don't have photos because we dove in since it looked so tasty. I was disappointed they were out of croissants since the photos look so good, but shame on me for showing up at 11 on a weekend, things must go quick. The cinnamon roll and berry scone weren't quite as sweet as I would have liked, but the brownie was to die for.

Great bakery but very busy and one has to be a bit patient.

Definitely have to stop for a sandwich while downtown. All the bread is fresh and delicious. Service was amazingly fast and friendly. The brown sugar hazelnut cake was so moist and flavorful. Had the texture of a banana bread. The only downside for me was the mocha they used is not sweet so if your looking for that try a different coffee.

When you step in this bakery it's very hard to not buy one of everything. We ordered a croissant (it was huge!), chocolate cupcake (divine), cookies (scrumptious) and a couple of scones (loved the savory flavors). I loved how we could see the bakers working in the kitchen. There's a cute little coffee shop in the same building as Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop so you can sit down with some delicious treats and drinks.

Yummy hip trendy cool bakery outpost, with amazing treats to eat. Worth the money! It was so delicious looking at everything being showcased! Loved the egg salad sandwich with chunky avocado! And the strawberry-mango filled cupcake the best. Mmm.

Probably one of my favorite places since visiting, went multiple times on our trip and plan to take lots of treats home. The focaccia was amazing, everything we tried was good and the staff were so nice. Would definitely recommend going.

I will fly back up here just to come here. Best bakery on earth.

So many different tasty treats! Their scones are marvelous, and I always pick up a baguette if they're available.

A fun bakery with delicious food. You can watch bakers preparing the food, and the variety is extensive. A coffee shop which also sells plants is within the bakery, yet is a separate entity. There are tables to sit and enjoy your purchases, and a small free parking lot.

This place is bomb. Sourdough loafs are amazing, so are the sandwiches. Egg salad sandwich was legendary.

I thought this was going to be our new Sunday place to get some food and get some work done. But they don’t offer WiFi, and every table in the place was dirty. The food was good, but $30 for two egg salad and avocado sandwiches is a lot.

My first experience at Fire Island Bakery was very enjoyable. The food is quite delicious, and I plan to return despite the inconvenience of their 4:00 p.m. closing time. It is a wonderful place.

Great old world bakery products.

Every time I've gone here I've been disappointed at best. Frequently I'm frustrated. They are consistently out of multiple things, even when arriving earlier in the day. Each time I've chosen or been talked into going here for lunch they've been sold out of anything I'd want to have that would be suitable for a meal. The servers are pleasant but way too pushy when I say I don't want anything, pressing multiple times even after I make it clear I don't.

Counter service tasty sandwiches and pastries. I’ve been twice and both times I was satisfied. The seating is limited to it’s tough to find a spot if it’s busy. I recommend the scones, sweet or savory, they’re my favorite! Not too dry but still good and crumbly without being too messy 😁

Really love supporting this local bakery. It’s close to my work so my go-to lunch spot. They have a daily soup that comes with a roll, loaded focaccia, and sandwiches. The focaccia is the best price for a small meal and the sandwiches are pricier options, but they keep a good rotation which is nice! Love that it has a coffee shop next door for a latte. Will easily spend $20 on a light lunch (or even a breakfast) here but so worth it. Their cakes have also been great, love the chocolate the most so far but they have seasonal flavors too - great for a small celebration. I accidentally nabbed this photo last time I was in and feel like it captures the vibe perfectly!

The savories they do are always out of this world. Gotta love the beet chevre muffin. I recommend all their cookie sandwiches too. On this visit (set of visits) they really fooled me when I drove to their south addition location only to discover that they'd moved in the last 18 months since I've been to Anchorage. Obviously K street market is cool as hell with all the other dope options. I did like the hominess before, but this location has so much more parking and seating. My only problem with the K street location is that it's hard to tell where to order when you rock in for the first time. (You basically walk straight in from the door, and a staff member will start your order at the cold case.) Feels a bit like it's made more for regulars than newbies, which is grand but as a fairly big tourist location, I'd suggest a bit more directional signage.

It was 1:00pm and my wife waited in line for 10 minutes just to be told at the counter that they were out of all of their sandwiches. The woman at the register was not very apologetic, and she said that they only make a certain number of sandwiches and once they sell out, that’s it. This is fine, but it would be common courtesy to put a sign on the door or window, to indicate that you have sold out of your goods, so that people don’t waste time waiting in line to order. The entire experience was quite frustrating.

Shhh don’t tell anyone how amazing this place is. Already is packed enough on weekends. Would love to see them open a third location as they are probably my favorite cafe/bakery in Anchorage. From focaccia to cupcakes they got it, And the atmosphere’s cute like a bonnet, Don’t delay or wait, This place will make your day, It inspired me to write this sonnet!

Enjoyed my chicken sandwhich 2 weeks ago, but they also made the most expensive and delicious tomatoe sandwhich at their previous location, I'd love to see again. I am thrilled where they are co located downtown and plan to revisit often.

The employees deliver the best customer service. They are incredibly patient, kind, and friendly. I love to buy their food and sweets. Especially, their coffee. All the employees are excellent. Every employee are sweet and hard working. They work in harmony and are very happy. I will keep coming back.

This place is outstanding. The owner is fantastic, and all the people working there are friendly and quick. Everything I have ordered here is outstanding, but my two favorites are the ham and swiss croissant and the lemon poppy seed muffin. Definitely a must try if you haven't check this place out already.

Amazing bakery selling a wide variety of freshly baked products! I came early and got myself a breakfast sandwich and a ham & cheese scone, both were great! There are also a few other shops around to browse.

Their products are great, especially croissants although they run out early. No other French village bakery quality croissants for at least 1600 miles (Edmonton). What’s frustrating it’s a 20 mile round trip for me. There’s no way to pay for croissants in advance the day before so that the RT won’t be wasted. I finally got help from the owner. The staff are very nice and friendly. A great product, nice employees but lacking on customer service: an example of the effects of monopoly.

This place was recommended to me by my airport Uber driver. Listening to her was the smartest thing I’ve done today! Both my danish & scone were delectably fresh. Atmosphere is great as well. 10/10 🤩

Loved the cookies so much that we came back for breakfast the next day. Not a lot of tables . The line was long but it moved fast. The staff was helpful and efficient. Breakfast was simple. My wife and I both enjoyed our Ham and Swiss croissant.

Beautiful French style bakery in Anchorage! What a wonderful place.

Very clean and good food but there are a few issues. First of all they gave me the wrong food and forgot about an item. Second the drink I got was dripping all over when I got it. The food was amazing though. Overall 4 stars because of those issues but this is still a great place to go to.

Always busy when I go, but quick friendly efficient staff makes getting best breads and bakery goods in town! Delicious goods.

This is a bread and pastry lovers dream. Outstanding baguettes and all other items. Do not miss this place if you are in Anchorage. Amazing sourdough products. Better than a dozen bakeries I visited in France, Italy and Germany.

We didn't get anything we actually ordered but what we did get was fine.

We visited here on vacation. We each ordered a breakfast focacia and shared trifle. Today we slept in, so they were out of breakfast sandwiches by the time we arrived. I ordered a drip coffee at the bakery line. It was $3 and tasted like coffee shop coffee. Overall, the music was good but the lobby doesn't really offer enough seating. We had to wait for a table. We were also bumped out of line for check out and our guy disappeared and for awhile we didn't know where to go. I think the breakfast focacia would have been very good if it were heated for about 5 seconds. It was really cool to watch the people make perfectly executed baked goods while we stood in line to pickup our food. I think this place could use a few more tables and some fine-tuning, but overall it is a good experience with delicious food and excellent coffee.
