Brilliant feed. Service excellent. Great views. Highly recommend.

I will gladly give it 5 stars. Now, I've been to 5 star restaurants, in big cities. This is the nicest restaurant from the bridge, without venturing too far off of 2. Now...let's get to the real! Amazing food, beats 5 star restaurants in New York City! Hands down! If you are ....... anywhere near here, get here! We drove 4 hours, and do not regret it! Robin and Dani were our servers, they both deserve, 10 out of 5 stars. The chef wasn't interested in meeting or showing his or her kitchen, and that could be looked at good or bad! The food came out great, so privacy and policy most likely are the reason! This place is a diamond in the rough!!! Exceptional menu! I could honestly go on and on, with pure honest, self paid, non paid endorsements. Family vacation/anniversary/looking at homes. Near here, get here, that simple. If you can't afford it, there is a McDonald's near by! Facts!

Been here twice and both times the service was friendly, food was fast, view was beautiful, and meal delicious. The salmon both times was cooked perfectly with a great crust. The salmon Alfredo was a large portion and the bucatini perfectly prepared. Everyone in our group loved it especially the mushroom risotto (not pictured).

What a gem! The views are incredible, the food is fantastic and the service is top notch. They delivered a perfectly cooked and seasoned ribeye.

The food is delicious with large portions for the price. Our service was top notch with excellent service from our waitstaff. This restaurant has a beautiful view overlooking Little Bay De Noc from the entire dining area.

Had the bison meatloaf for my birthday meal tonight. Was awesome. Katlyn was are waitress and she was great. 3rd time here and never disappointed

23 min seated without so much as water. 3 large groups seated right next to us (shortly after us) got their waters and ordered. 3 servers buzzing around and not one would make eye contact with us. We left.

Fresh Creole bucatini was very good. Crab cake was delicious as was the lobster bisque. Service was outstanding even though we got there 20 minutes before closing. Drinks were very good.

Reagan was absolutely phenomenal! My family and I were in town to visit family from the suburbs of Chicago and we were blown away by the service!! My family and I will absolutely come back the next time we are back in town and request her. She was amazing with our kids and adults. We were so shocked that she has only been serving for 2-3 months. It seemed like YEARS! PLEASE request Reagan! She will take care of you and you will have such an amazing experience! Thank you!!

We are staying in the new tower at The Terrace and checked out Freshwater Tavern for dinner on our first night. The food was delicious and came out quickly and our server - Julia - was very kind and attentive. The portion sizes were large, and we had a minimal wait for a Saturday evening.

Charming and delightful. Obviously the place to be on Little Bay de Noc. Freshwater was busy but not overwhelming. Service was spot on. The food was perfect. The Yellowfin Tuna was a delight, but the Red Thai Curry was probably one of the best curry dishes we've enjoyed anywhere. The chef truly knows his Thai cuisine ... and I hear he also specializes in Mexican fare. Will stop here again the next time we drive through.

This is totally awesome restaurant and tavern!! The atmosphere, views, food/drinks and service were perfect in every way. Our server Reagan was very attentive and had a great personality. This in itself made the whole experience worthwhile. The food was absolutely delicious; kudos to the “chefs”!!!!! The cocktails were amazing. Highly recommend this place for people looking to celebrate and enjoy a special occasion. Hands down a wonderful restaurant experience and will definitely come back again. Job well done

We had an amazing dining experience here. The crab cakes were very good. My wife got the fried perch and it was flakey and incredibly flavored I had the bison meatloaf, which was moist and perfectly cooked. We both agreed that the mashed potatoes and carrots were the best we have ever had. And our server Robin was absolutely amazing!

Overall, great restaurant! My ONLY complaint was I only had water to drink and I didn't get any refills so I was thirsty the whole time. The food was great and higher end! Definitely recommend the Jalapeño Poppers! Delicious! The menu is pricey 30-60$ per plate on average. Would recommend to friends and family for a nice night out! We had a weekend mini vacation at Terrace Bay. We patronized the Freshwater Tavern four times. You can get there early and get a seat over looking the bay. The area is popular and noisy and a bit hectic. Seats are available at the dining area or at the bar. I have to give chops to the wait staff. They were friendly, helpful and efficient. The only hiccup was our last waitress disappeared while we we waiting to pay our bill. Another waitress realized our irritation and stepped up. Whether we had snacks, drinks or meals our experiences were stellar. At my birthday dinner my sweetie had rare tuna steak and I had a outstanding tofu dish. Both meals were those types of meals you'll remember for a while. Their fries are really, really good. After the ticket shock of our first visit...margaritas were $14 a pop! We paid attention to the Happy Hours when drinks are half price. The margaritas were pretty dang good. At $7 during happy time, they were much better. I will add this...when the guy at the next table got his burger he said " oh, my lord". The thing was huge...and to this long time vegetarian, it looked to be a meal...and then some. Bottom line, we ate at several nice restaurants in the Escanaba area. This was the best.

Most disappointing $50 steak I’ve ever been served. Not only did we have to wait 45 minutes, even though the restaurant appeared 1/2 empty. (We get it, staffing) but the part they did sit us in was so crammed full of people you could hardly hear yourself think. The only saving grace was the wait staff, they were great. The 16 oz ribeye I ordered had more fat on it than meat. We were positive it wasn’t even a “ribeye cut” it was so chewy and nasty. The sides were cold and nothing to be excited about. Overall, maybe a great concept, but poor planning and execution on a busy night. Disappointed we spent $200 for a family of 3.

First time in Gladestone and this is the first place we went to eat. The view is beautiful, the food was amazing and our server Jordan was phenomenal. She was very attentive, explained the menu well and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend!

Use to serve bread and flavored butter. Now you don't even get a simple bread roll or a small salad. Not the dinner it use to be. Went down hill

The pork shank was fantastic, and a flight of IPA beer, along with the view and top notch service made it the best meal we had during our week in Michigan. We'll be back!

This meal was the best food I have had in my life. Tuscany potatoes had crunch and zest, with sweet shallots. Filet mignon was the best and most tender, cooked to perfection. Walleye and original style tarter sauce with crisp asparagus........ I could go on, my wife's food was perfection and the whole experience left us in awe. Honost first impressions of price were merely 2nd thoughts 5 mins into a honeymoon meal we will never forget. Thank you for a time and moment captured in a memory that will be cherished forever, due to exceptional culinary genius and delivery.

This restaurant is a hidden gem, unexpected gourmet meal! Josh, our waiter gave great service and attention to detail. Chris, the chef was outstanding. Having eaten fine dining prior, this chef Is at the top. Price reflected, the meal served, and quality and efforts that go into it.

The food (including taste, generous portions and presentation) was outstanding! Our server (Jordan) provided excellent service to us on all fronts. She was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and cocktail menu. We would highly recommend this restaurant as among the very best the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Also, it was a very nice touch that we were given a complimentary desert since we were celebrating our 40th anniversary!

This was an amazing meal! Besides the amazing view and attentive staff, the food was outstanding and interesting. I can't eat gluten and it was refreshing to have a menu with so much variety that had many GF choices. My husband got the pork chop special with curried vegetables and I got the curried scallop and shrimp dish. Mmmm!!!! Our only complaint was that the sizes were enormous - too much food and we are hearty eaters. The Brussel sprout appetizer was delicious but so huge it could have been a meal. We got another nights food out of our meal but for some that extra food will end up in the trash which feels wasteful. Other than that I would highly recommend this place. A real treat.

We ate here a few years back and were underwhelmed but we thought we’d try again… glad we did! Very good food! The chef must take pride in his work! Nice job! My husband had the walleye, fries, asparagus, then Tiramisu. I had the full rack of delicious, fall off the bone ribs, yummy mashed potatoes and rainbow carrots then a delicious bread pudding… which I would order again even though I’m a chocolate lover!

WOW!!!! What an amazing restaurant! A friend of mine invited me out to his daughter's birthday and this was the place they chose. I ended up having the Ahi Tuna salad and the whitefish sandwich with Cajun fries. I don't normally rave about places but this food was absolutely amazing. The whitefish sandwich with the fries jalapeno chips on it was something I would have never thought of but it took a fish sandwich into a whole new experience. The pretzel bun was light and fluffy yet still had that sourdough bite to it. The ahi tuna with the soy dressing was absolutely fantastic as well. The tuna was prepared lightly seared and tasted like it was caught that day. I've had a lot of tuna around the world and this was some of the best I've ever had hands down. The service was fantastic as well. The sweet breads they bring out with dinner was a delightful treat as well. They serve the bread with two full bunchs of roasted garlic with a side of whipped butter and cinnamon butter as well. Honestly this place is a true hidden gem of the UP. The ambiance and layout of the restaurant reminded me a lot of traditional supper clubs of Wisconsin with a new modern twist. If more restaurants were like this the supper club style of restaurant would make a full comeback and be a "new thing" for the younger generations. I give the freshwater tavern a 10/10 and would recommend this place to anyone that wants a high quality meal or a family celebrating something or a date night. I believe the prices of the food and drinks was well worth it because of the quality and service you get here.

All the people talking and having a good time can get a little loud. Other than that I have zero complaints about the food or the staff. The roasted red pepper chicken parm is my favorite dish.

We are visiting from Texas and my cousin wanted to meet us here for dinner. OMG, the food was fabulous! I feel bad for getting too full to finish. Everything I had was absolutely on point. Our waitress (I want to say she said her name was Jordan?) was fantastic. She was extremely friendly, but not fake about it. She does her job and did it very well. Will absolutely come back the next time we come up here.
