This was the 4th or 5th time we have stayed at GRL dating back to when it first opened. It still has a great deal to offer including a great setting and very nice rooms. The restaurant still serves great meals. My wife described her duck as the best she has ever had. The staff was friendly, helpful and accomodating. My one reservation is breakfast, and, thus, the four star rating for service. They no longer have the kitchen open for breakfast. Instead the refrigerator in the room has a "breakfast basket" containing a variety of items including scones, croissants, cereal, etc. No real complaints about the quality of the food, but not the same as a hot breakfast. Also, it would be much nicer if they provided a plate of some sort to put the food on.

Easter brunch experience was a 3 out of 10. Cold food, expensive, and even had to pay extra for mimosas. The only positive was a good service. Oh and the buffet dishes were not clean. Was.not impressed!

Great venue for a small 2-day work event. Accommodating staff, very professional, amazing food, and the location couldn't be better! Thank you GRL!

Perfect girlfriend’s getaway! Beautiful views, spectacular food and loved the in room massage appointment! Close enough to Bozeman to shop, yet felt like we were hundreds of miles from civilization when we were enjoying the tranquility of our room at the lodge

We loved our stay at the Gallatin River Lodge! Happy hour was excellent, and our room was wonderful and perfectly appointed. Loved the jetted tub and panoramic views. A super easy and quick drive to town and the hot springs. Check-in was seamless, and the staff were exceedingly helpful without ever being overbearing. The road was a little snowy, but we had zero issues, and the staff made sure to let us know in advance of adverse road conditions on the north side of the access road so we could come from the south side. Wish we had another day so we could have stayed for a dinner, as the dinner menu looked (and smelled!) fabulous. Will definitely be returning in the fall so we can enjoy all the Aspen trees and the grounds! A beautiful, perfectly appointed romantic weekend getaway.

It was amazingly perfect. The room was beautiful with a view of the mountains. The staff were kind and there for anything we needed. Highly recommended.

I cannot speak highly enough about the Gallatin River Lodge! The service was fantastic, rooms were spacious and clean, and the food in the restaurant was delicious! The staff could not have made us feel more welcome. Special thanks to Jess, Kayla, Vickie, Mary and Max for providing us with excellent service and making us feel so at home. We will be back to Gallatin River Lodge in the near future!

I have eaten at fine dining establishments all over the country and I think this was the best dining experience yet. Service was outstanding. Complete attention to detail, paced our meal to allow us to truly submit to a relaxing dining experience. Chef Jorge came out and spoke with us for our first date and made everything completely magical from start to finish. His plating and willingness to get creative and design interactive food experiences with color and contrast on the plate was inspired. We started with the Lobster roll, fondue, and poutine. Great flavor profiles in each. The slight heat with the pickled jalapeños on the poutine added a whole other level to the richness of the dish. Next course we had the smoked trout rillette with roe and giardinera and locally sourced breads was phenomenal. We then had the bone marrow served in a way I have never had. No canoes, no scraping he took the marrow and created a crunchy delectable spreadable miracle. He also walked us though how he recommended eating the dish delicious layer by layer to spread the bone marrow nugget in the final. This was by far the best part of an incredible dining experience. The flavor from start to finish as well as the mouth feel both crunchy and smooth was delectable and caused me to lose my speech. Finished with the Duck Duck Goose which the combination of proteins combines with the sauce and the pop of flavor from the pomegranate was just exquisite. We sure felt full after hours of dining and drinking but still chef insisted we try the Foie gras profiteroles. I have never had anything so rich in flavor of carmels and sea salt but also a savory component that still surprises me when I think about it. The atmosphere was remote and romantic. Cozy and a perfect place to go on a date I’ll tell ya that. Chef Jorge is a creative spirit and this place is very lucky to have him. Gallatin River Lodge has been on my list of places to have dinner for a while and I'm glad we finally stopped in. The Gallatin River Lodge was our "treat yourself" date (cue Tom for Parks & Rec). The view from the dining area was beautiful and the staff were incredibly friendly. Since we basically left the restaurant barely able to walk from the food we ate, I'll break down each dosh and our personal opinions: + Crispy Bone Marrow Nuggets - Get it! I'm a huge bone marrow fan and the chef's spin on the delicious app was delicious. Served with toasted bread, stone mustard, fig preserves, and an arugula salsa verde, this dish is a must-have in my opinion. + Happy Hour Lobster Roll - let's be honest, quality seafood can be hard to come by in our landlocked state but this roll was delicious. It's a small sandwich but it packs a good amount of lobster meat for its size. + Duck Duck Goose - my husband thoroughly enjoyed his dish, except maybe the goose confit but that's definitely an acquired taste. The duck breast had a nice, crispy skin and the potatoes were a great compliment. + Lobster Fettuccine - obviously, I wanted lobster this evening! Admittedly, not my favorite dish. The creme sauce was bland and rich at the same time, I know...kind of a weird statement. The smoked trout roe added a much needed saltiness but overall the dish was too fishy for me (and I love fish)! + Beignets - not your typical "Louisiana-style" beignets. These were more like a dense, deep fried donut hole. Actually, they reminded me of Portuguese donuts (andagi) a bit. Regardless, it was tasty. Especially for my husband's sweet tooth. + Creme brûlée - I'd like to say we were an anomaly here because the sugar on our creme brûlée was burnt and before you say, "well yeah, it's supposed to be"...I mean it tasted and smelled like burnt sugar you can't come back from. The custard itself was delicious but I couldn't get past the taste of what I can only describe as a burnt marshmallow that should've been left to disappear into your campfire. Oh, and our drinks were good too! I'm not typically a light weight when it comes to handling my alcohol but that Montana Mule came with a heavy pour, if you know what I mean. My husband was a big fan of the hot apple cider. We had a great night at Gallatin River Lodge! The restaurant has a very laid back and cozy vibe so I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a quick dinner. But, if you want to enjoy a nice dinner with someone you love while taking in the beauty of Montana, stop on in!

We had our wedding here! For what we were looking for- a smaller space that had rooms for the wedding party to stay with no extra guests running around it was perfect. Growing up in the area I'd been around the venue before, but for the vibe I was looking for it worked perfectly! The space was gorgeous, the rooms are spacious, and we had an absolutely perfect weather day in October to get married in an outdoor setting. GRL is getting into the event field, and there were some hiccups along the way - The contract isn't exactly clear cut, it was mostly an excel sheet with total cost but minimal rules and guidelines. There was some waffling and confusion as to weather or not we had a FULL buy out, and the restaurant could have been open for Friday (rehearsal dinner night)? Ultimately we ended up with a buy out which was amazing, and very helpful for the flow of our rehearsal & setting up the wedding. There was some confusing unexpected charges for the patio space we got married under - which is fine but wasn't clear in the contract. The staff was mostly phenomenal, the maid was very friendly and helpful in all of our conversations. The wait & bar staff were amazing. While we never met the chef, the food was great! Valerie and Max were all very helpful. The general manager's communication was often confusing - there were several times questions were responded to in a way that did not give an answer to the question asked. With the confusion in the contract there were a lot of small detailed annoyances throughout the weekend that we ran into. Thankfully we had a wonderful day of coordinator to work through those issues with, but a few things became more of a problem than they needed to be with the General Manager throughout the planning & wedding weekend.

We live here in Bozeman. This restaurant has often been our favorite restaurant through the years. We have great memories of the prior owner, who sadly has passed away. We just tried and going back this evening, to complete disaster. This was our first time coming back after a disappointing dinner about a year ago. We had heard that there have been improvements to the menu and the service delivery, so we made reservations and decided to give the restaurant another try. This is been such a disappointment. Sadly, we never tasted the food, because we weren’t welcome once we arrived. We had 5:30 reservations for two people, and after several minutes and some very confused front desk people, they tried to figure out where they would seat us, which eventually became a two seater in the middle of the room. The restaurant was about half full, many were eating, and several ordering. There were at least two or three other waiters that were serving and attending to their tables. After 12 minutes, and not getting served or even greeted, finally someone came and threw water at us. I suggested we were ready for the order, and she stated that she was not a waiter and she had no idea who our waiter was. I said, OK, we would like to get the order in if we could. This person had a side bar conversation with me of the waiters at it was apparently decided that she would take care of us. As it turns out, Our server was supposed to be someone who already had served a table of six. That large table was seated about 5 minutes after we were seated . Finally, after several very disturbing glares that we got from the person that gave us water, we decided to leave. Perhaps those that are hotel guests are served before locals, regardless of when people are seated. It’s a long, cold winter for restaurants that need loyal local patrons. We were so hoping to place this restaurant back on our favorite list. We dine out 3 to 4 times a week, and were looking forward to being able to call this one of our preferred restaurants again. There are too many other great choices in Bozeman. There’s an old adage that “business goes where it is invited, and stays where it is welcome. This is truly a shame that an unforced error like this occurred.

Beautiful setting. The bison steak, potatoes au gratin, asparagus and Italian red wine were a great combination. Alexa the waitress was so bright and fun and provided excellent service and table-side manner. Highly recommend.

Wonderfully cozy property tucked away near the heart of Bozeman Montana. Feels like you are staying at your own home. Rooms are insanely comfortable; access to the whole property means you can enjoy a beer or breakfast with Mother Nature. Staff allowed us to make use of washer / dryer while we were there (much needed, we smelled!!). A HUGE parr of our overall happiness with this stay was GRL pairing us with their in house fishing expert guide and outfitter, Ryan Eisfeldt. If you stay in Bozeman, highly recommend booking Ryan Eisfeldt months in advance to ensure availability. Our fishing excursion, where 10+ beautiful trout / fish were caught (and released) exhausted us to the point where returning to our cozy accommodations was enhanced by 100%! All around great place with connections to Ryan and other local go to restaurants / activities.

We had a great time. The entire lodge is spotless, well managed, and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.

Friends took me out for a belated birthday dinner, and I had an amazing steak meal! Steak was very well-seasoned, and the asparagus and sautéed mushrooms were perfect compliments to the steak. It's definitely one of the best meals I have had in the past few years.

Seems as though the summer ‘23 menu was a swing and a miss. My wife and I enjoy GRL for the fine dining experience. Bring back simple and well executed menus! Considering all the 5 star meals we’ve eaten here over the years, I can’t knock it too hard, sometimes we take a chance at something new and it doesn’t work. I understand that out of state guests want a mediocre steakhouse.

This was our first time staying at the lodge, and it won’t be our last! Rooms were great, and staff was helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed a beautiful Mother's Day Brunch at the Lodge. The setting is lovely with amazing views! The food and the service were great too. We hope to dine there several times this summer!

We enjoyed our last stay several years ago. We were curious if the restaurant remained as exquisite as it was. Our meal was fabulous. The puréed soup was delicious and went well with the creamed arugula and spinach. The seared scallops were very well prepared.

I just had dinner at GRL the other night, & as always, it was a great experience! Excellent martini, yummy appetizers (the avocado appetizer was delicious) and a juicy steak. I always highly recommend them!

I’ve been going to GRL for dinner over 6 years now and had some of the best dinners in the Gallitan valley here… tonight, on the other hand, was with out a doubt, the most disappointing dinner I’ve had there (after they were closed for a month?) Noticeable staff turn-over, very unfortunate menu revamp, and a wine/ beverage list that is very sub par from past visits. The table side service was great, however, the mixed drink options were no-where near the quality of past visits. The menu is basically a very boring steak menu. A few highlight apps and dessert but the mains were disappointing. Two medium rare’s ordered and two different temps delivered… one at rare and one much closer to a medium well. A pasta that was extremely average with reheated chicken and minus the home made pasta, was something I never want to try again. A wine list with several wines missing or out of stock (you had a month to inventory), no more Corvin pours which is disappointing considering most wines are very expensive, if they have them. Wines by the glass have become almost entirely domestic and boring considered the depth of the wine list. Overall in my 6 years of coming here, they have never been consistent, as if every time I visited it was a different level of quality. After they obtained their liquor license, I really thought the menu, drinks, and over all experience became the best in the valley and finally stabilized. However, with out clear excuse or reason they closed for a month and become a boring steak dinner; Something that this town does not need more of. GRL, whatever you’ve done, you’ve done it very wrong. Not worth the $$$ anymore.

I’ve photographed a few weddings at Gallatin River Lodge over the years and its always a pleasure working at this comfortable riverside wedding venue. The property in the summertime has the space for a big top tent wedding bash and there are great photos to be had exploring the grassy landscape and the woody banks of the Gallatin River. In the winter months, the lodge serves as a great intimate indoor wedding venue where your guests can stay warm and cozy around the bar or bust a move on the dance floor. The rooms upstairs for getting ready are bright with great natural light. For the adventurous couple, a walk out in the snow with your photographer can yield fun results. The GRL staff have created truly lovely, versatile fly fishing lodge atmosphere. Regardless of the season, it’s a wonderful venue to book for your wedding day festivities.

What a gem of a place in Montana! My boyfriend and I stayed for a week for my birthday. If you want something right outside of town this is it! Approx 18 mins to town if you want to relax it's great. It's not in Bozeman but that was alright with us. The food is excellent. The lodge is wonderful and peaceful. The staff are attentive and kind. The place is so charming and our room was fantastic. Bedding is so cozy and everything was wonderful. No issues what so ever. I got exactly what I needed and wanted from a place and have no regrets choosing to stay here. I am so grateful for you all. Thank you so much.

A stay at the Gallatin River Lodge is an incredible experience and does wonders for the soul. The Trout Lodge is dog-friendly and is impeccably furnished. Seated right next to the picturesque mountain range, the lodge welcomes you in like it is your second home. Guests are able to walk on the expansive acreage, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the stargazing is out of this world. 11/10 recommend, and highly suggest staying here instead of in downtown Bozeman!

This is a gem of a place. So close to town and so many things but feels like an Inn from a Hallmark movie - snow and lights - just perfect. The attached restaurant is delicious, cozy with the sweetest, friendliest staff. 1000 times better than staying at a hotel. Every morning we watched a line of deer walking through the snow. My daughter and I had a magical time. Book it now. You won't regret it.

Where do I even begin! I recently got married at Gallatin River Lodge and I am blown away by the service, food, the property and how beautiful the lodge is. The manager, Keith, goes above and beyond in every sense to make sure that guests feel welcome and accommodated for- and he does it all with a smile on his face. Chef Joshua is incredible and I had multiple people tell me it's the best food they've had in a long time (and we are from NYC). Ryan, the bar manager, has a beautiful selection of wines and makes an excellent cocktail. The whole staff is really just so lovely, kind and accommodating. The property is absolutely stunning and it was such a treat to wake up early and watch the wild turkey and deer roaming in the pasture, overlooking the Rocky's. What I loved most about staying here is that it almost feels like you are at a vacation rental, but with 5 star service. All of the rooms are super private and tucked away in their own space so you are never bombarded with other people staying there. I can't recommend highly enough and I'm already looking forward to booking another trip there. Thank you a thousand times over to all of the people who made it such a wonderful experience staying at GRL.

We had an exceptional experience at Gallatin River Lodge. Keith was very accommodating for our very late arrival, greeting us with genuine Montana hospitality. The cooked-to-order breakfast each morning was fantastic. DeBe was very friendly and helpful and the chef (didn't catch his name) gave us lots of great tips on things to do in the area. The room was cozy and roomy, charming and comfortable. It is located a few minutes out of town. Close enough to enjoy life in town but far enough to be peaceful. The views are amazing. Breathtaking. We enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

First, the room was so warm and friendly, the staff was extremely attentive, and the food was amazing. Then there is the guided fly flushing trip. Our guide was Luke from Montana anglers. He knew every hole, every place where the fish hang. We caught a ton of fish. WE WILL BE BACK.

We just arrived home to Denver after spending a lovely long weekend in Bozeman. Gallitan River Lodge is a true gem! Lovely, clean, comfy rooms. The duvet is warm making a cool evening or early morning so cozy. Food: I cannot say enough about the amazing food! From breakfast to a late evening dinner, every bite was amazing. If you are looking to lose weight… this is not the place. Breakfast starts with a piece of homemade coffee pastry. If you are planning on a day away from the lodge, a packed pick or lunch is to die for! Dinner: All inclusive meals do not end with a simple entree. Dinner includes an additional 2 courses. Desserts are amazing and tantalize your taste buds. Plan on a lot of food! Yes you can ask for smaller portions or take to your room for late night snack or lunch the next day. The team led by Rikki, Andy, and Chef Ryan are sweet, and go out of their ways to make you comfortable. There were roses in our room for our 2 year anniversary. (Thank you Rikki!). There is private fly fishing, massages and anything else that Rikki’s team can arrange. We are already planning our next visit. Thank you again, Gallitan River Lodge. Our first visit to Montana will forever be hard to beat!!!

Unbelievable staff and gorgeous views all around! Not to mention the food is outstanding and the rotating menu provides fresh dishes regularly.

On the upside the staff is friendly, there's a decent wine list, and they make a good Manhattan. Unfortunately the food was a disappointment. The cheese plate appetizer we had was pricey for how little cheese was on it, the cheeses weren't compelling, plus they were served with very brittle herbed crostini that had enough seasoning on them to overwhelm the taste of the cheeses. All of our meals arrived dried out, probably from sitting under a warming light for too long; I suspect the entrees were prepared quickly, then sat as we ate our salad course. The ribs I had ($30) were a small portion (smaller than a standard half rack) and were VERY dry, almost like jerky in spots. The desserts were good though there was a strange bitterness in the crust of my creme brulee. We went to Gallatin River Lodge for dinner because there are so many positive reviews on Google, so maybe we caught them on an off day, but there were four of us in our party, and each of us were disappointed by our meals.

The atmosphere was something out of a romance novel. I honestly was shocked. The server we had was gracious not overbearing, charming, and so attentive, our food was fabulous and yes it is a bit spendy but honestly the quality was spot on. It was quiet and extremely tasteful. The only downside I have would be that even though my husband and I were the last ones there, it did get pretty warm and we were both sweating by the end of our meal. BUT! we were sweating with full bellies and smiles. Thank you!!!!

This place is awesome!! Food seems simple and plain on the menu but HOLY MOLY was it good. Service was OUTSTANDING! They went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. They had flowers ready at our dinner table, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room. They made our anniversary unforgettable. HIGHLY recommend!

Great atmosphere, and a meeting room to the side allows for large parties. We had a fairly large group of 20 people, and they were prompt with drink orders and bringing the buffet style food. It was a really smooth process.

We hosted a family event with 50 attendees at the Gallatin River Lodge and it was exceptional - the food, venue and the service were all top notch.

The location/setting/views are fantastic. The food is very good and wait staff very friendly and attentive. I would have enjoyed it IMMENSELY if adult children and their significant others had not been along. Its the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. We have been multiple times and this is the first time we didn't see deer. Had a beautiful sunset with rainbows though!

Had a fantastic evening the food and service where superb! Started off with the cheese tray, served local cheeses and a variety of compote. Then had a micro salad with homemade dressings and a ribeye cooked to perfection!

This place was epic! My wife and I really enjoyed the winter romance package. I will always remember my first wedding anniversary thanks to the wow experience the staff provided! Edible flowers had me stuck on silly. Even those were tasty. The only thing that could be better in the rooms were the shower heads. Jaccuzi tubs and a fireplace in the rooms made it a very cozy getaway. Excellent location as well. Thank you everyone for such great hospitality!

Review for restaurant only. Food was really good, but it just didn't quite "wow" me, which I would expect for the price. Service was excellent.

My husband and I had our honeymoon in Bozeman, and stayed at The Gallatian River Lodge. The lodge and rooms are so welcoming and homey. The rooms are big and bed is comfortable. Candice who works in dining is so friendly. We had breakfast at the lodge, and it was impeccable! In fact we wished we would have had dinner there one of the nights, but we ran out of time. The dinner menu looked great. It was my husband`s and I first trip to Bozeman, and Candice gave us some great tips for our hiking trip in Yellowstone, and she also gave us some other itinerary suggestions. Located south of Belgrade this establishment has rooms, fine dining, and a bar located on site. Service was excellent and very fitting for Montana.
