This used to be my go to place for my Jamaica meals. But lately I have stopped going because I have been complaining to them about the amount of pepper in the food especially the soup. Neither management nor the chef is ever there to address the issue. And the taste of the food tends to fluctuate as if they keep changing the chefs because as regular I do taste the difference especially this past summer, and even though the staff on the serving line are always apologetic about it i have to say it got very annoying. I have acid reflux so even though I used to love spicy foods I can't have it anymore. Plus I am tired of buying my food and giving it away because I can't eat it. In my opinion you cannot cook food in an establishment that is serving food to to a wide range of people and cook it like you are home with all that pepper. Spices should be added to the side for customers to add as they desire or need, so since they seem to be cooking for a certain kind of clientele I have decided to take my business elsewhere where I do not have this problem. I wish them all the best and I hope in future they listen to their customers more.

Hands down the best golden crust I have ever picked up food from. The woman working here provided excellent service, and the food was delicious. The interior design made the restaurant feel bigger in size and super chill, I definitely wanted to sit outside and eat, but the rain disregarded my wants, haha. It is absolutely worth the 15-minute trip to enjoy everything.

It was very delicious and fresh. The oxtail was phenomenal.

Place is clean, staff is friendly, jerk chicken/pork was very very dry, no smoke flavor, and jerk seasoning definitely not authentic. No ac in the restaurant either. Good portions but not recommended for the money or flavor.

I just had the food today and it waa terrible. I had it in the past and it was good maybe they changed chefs????

The sign says they open at 9am, I went there at 9:10am door closed. People moving around inside and just ignored myself and two other customers that were waiting at the door. We called the store no one picks up. It’s hard to understand a business and a mostly new business that has suck bad customer service. If you weren’t ready yet the decent thing would have been to at least address the people waiting outside the store. I waited until 9:45an and decided I wanted enough of my time.

Usually I like there food I got oxtail and it was disgusting no taste and watery. Rice is also nasty no flavor. It’s so expensive so I’m very disappointed.

Let me start by saying I love the warm greeting when I walk through the door from Chris he makes you feel very welcome. I always order a spicy beef patty and my son loves the non spicy. I get the Jerk chicken with plain white rice and curry chicken curry sauce on top of my rice it's a very tasty meal especially the jerk chicken it's very delicious. Thank you chris for the warm greeting and tasty food when I dont feel like cooking.

The food is not bad my only complaint is the heavy set man with the belly, he’s very rude to customers especially women. We come in there to spend our money to support the establishment however his attitude is ridiculous and uncalled for.

Food is phenomenal and best Caribbean dishes you’ll find in Newburgh or through the upper Hudson valley. I travel from Middletown NY just for the breakfast items. You won’t be disappointed.

Went there Saturday 3 30 24 new girl working was not pleased the portion of food was not acceptable same as the city they hire new workers to rip u off 2300 and 2800 dollars got to give people there moneys worth when they first open portions was great now they fallen off little bit of cabbage too much rice and 4 or 5 pieces oxtails that's not getting it

Always walk up to GK with music playing outside. This sets the tone, prepares u for the food you are about to receive. The menu is abundant with choices from patty to Oxtail with various sides. Thanks Chris....our patties they were delicious. We will continue to purchase patties, snacks, drinks, cakes, food, and even bread here.

We have been getting food from this restaurant since it opened. The food was tasty and portions were good for curry chicken and stew chicken. Yesterday we bought 2 large stew chickens and the meat was chopped into 1 inch pieces. After adding up the pieces I would say we didnt get an entire thigh. Very disappointing for the $30 price. I guess we will take our business elsewhere. Too bad since the business is new and the food was flavourful.

I want to support black businesses, and expect the same sentiment to be reciprocated. Since opening I have been observing professionalism, work ethics and productivity. Here is my personal experience. Got 3 large soup once, we realized all 3 soup was spoiled. Found out it was soup from the day before. Try to buy krust, though it is on the menu it is never available, even when called in. Very rarely someone answers the phone. While in store customers will leave- staff can manage their time more effectively to serve everyone who enters. You are losing alot of customers. Peoples time are valuable.

Kardell and Aliya were exceptionally professional and courteous in their delivery of service. The Golden Krust family here in Newburgh has brought a warm and welcoming cultural experience to all especially for the people of the Caribbean diaspora. One Love!

Authentic Jamaican food. Takes me back to when they first opened in the Bronx, in Little Jamaica E. Gunhill Road. The customer service is EXCELLENT and the atmosphere is inviting. Thank you for bringing a great part of my youth to Newburgh, New York! Yeh man, lickle more, seen? 😉 One ❤️

As a new resident to the area, I was worried if I’d find the equivalent or better Jamaican food as the Bronx. I was pleasantly surprised as both visits to GK were met with wonderful customer service by the female serving and the male cashing. I’m sorry I didn’t catch the names but I’ll be back. Excellent portions and flavor. I always feel I got my monies worth. Keep up the good work.

First time eating Jamaican food.Samples were offered. Food was awesome. Right blend of spices and sweetness on my wings. Sweet bbq and jerk wings. Spinach rice was on point. Looking forward to next visit

Stopped by golden crust for the first time. The service was immaculate. The guy was very friendly and attentive. I had the oxtail fried plantain cabbage and spinach rice and it was bomb. The portion size was very good for the price and the quality of the food was phenomenal. The oxtail was very tender, flavorful and plentiful. I had to finish it all in two sittings. I most def will be back again.

Food is always fresh and consistent. Can always depends on a hot meal when needed. Just need lots more mild beef patties. But just an overall tasty meal. The staff is nice too.

They're chicken with brown gravy and rice is one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten. The gravy was rich and perfectly flavored and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The ingredients are all fresh so I felt full but not weighed down.

I live in Middletown and ventured to Newburgh after seeing this place online. I like how the food is front and center so you can see what you’re getting, you have your choice of three different kinds of rices and a variety of dishes from curry goat to fish and fried chicken. A large oxtail will run you about $25 BUT in saying that you definitely will get your money’s worth. I have not encountered any issues so far and the staff are always nice and patient while you decide especially with so many choices.This will always be my last stop when I’m in Newburgh before going home to Middletown.

Went here to order food Sunday evening. The restaurant is clean and convenient to get to, however the young lady behind the counter seemed to be annoyed! She even messed up my order, but it's all good. I enjoyed my dinner anyway. I'm all about supporting local businesses but not tolerant of unpleasant attitudes..🤔
