Excellent!!! Probably the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Philly Cheesesteak is obviously quality steak and fresh mushrooms, onions and peppers, individually cooked to order. After we ate, both the gentleman at the next table and myself ordered another sandwich to go. My dad has GOT to try this! You will be thrilled when you try this place!!

Sandwich Perfection! I’ve eaten sandwiches in 48 of 50 states and their West Tampa sandwich is the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. Period! It is an improved Cuban sandwich. Yes, I said it - better than a traditional Cuban. I love Cuban sandwiches and consider myself to be a snob about them. This is better. MUCH better! Go try one for yourself. These are nice people and they deserve your business!

REALLY, if you haven't been here please give it a try. Absolutely gourmet sandwiches with fresh ingredients fixed to perfection. The portions are huge too! Soups are great too! Authentic original recipes. Get there!!!

Pleasantly surprised at the bold flavors from a tiny sandwich shop. Had the collard green soup and my son had everything else on the menu! The soup was a 10 on a scale from 1 to 5! The Pork Drizzler and the Gonzo were both excellent. Hearty and the bread was undeniably baked that day!

Gonzo’s was amazing, today I got the meatloaf, and I don’t typically like meatloaf but this was one of if not the best I’ve ever had. And it’s always great to support local businesses especially when they’re this high of quality.

This place is Absolutely amazing. They are friendly and always pleasant when I walk in the door. I've eaten half the menu, all have some to go. I haven't had a bad sandwich, I will return . This is a must visit place.

The West Tampa is delicious!!!! Also ordered the pulled pork sandwich and yuca fries with garlic mayo dipping sauce. I've had my share of pressed sandwiches in Tampa and would absolutely choose Gonzo's again, just for the West Tampa. Something about how all the flavors go together is just perfect. It's a small storefront with about 10 tables inside and an outdoor area as well. 2 sandwiches and the yuca was $25. Practically everyone in there eating was some finance type guy on lunch with his buddies. The owner was wearing all Tampa Bay sports team gear and the spot is decorated with Tampa Bay sports memorabilia, mostly golf related. Muy rico!!!!

Not bad.... got a Philly and a bowl of garbanzo bean soup..... 10$ then 2$for a can drink.... drink is a lil much..... maybe get a thing of tea but food was really good..... next door is a HVAC supply house and they ALL said give it a try.... now it's your turn..... give it a shot

Everything is good but these sandwiches are my favorites: Meatloaf, Cheesesteak, Turkey, Buffalo Chicken, Burger. Try the yellow rice and chicken, best in town, great flavor.

This is my first time experiencing Gonzo's as I just moved from NY. I have to say this pork drizzle sandwich on a cuban is amazing and mouth-watering as advertised. Not only was the sandwich delicious but the service was exceptional, very friendly and welcoming. Definitely going to become a go-to lunch spot for me in Tampa.

Just found these guys the yesterday got the buffalo chicken and pork drizzle. My lord that pork drizzle was amazing. Buffalo chicken was very tasty very mild heat. Overall these guys know what their doing when it comes to food

Just walking in the atmosphere has that sense of homeyness and classic sandwich shop air to it. I was greeted by the owner as soon as I came in, seeing as ive never been here before he was more than happy to help guide me through the menu and give some suggestions as to what is popular/what he likes himself. Ended up getting the Philly Cheesesteak, First off, just off seeing the bread I knew the toast of the bread was amazing. Off my first bite was such an incredible burst and blend of flavor, absolutely an incredible suggestion for anyone wanting to get a great and sandwich and an even better service experience. Definitely coming back again.

Best sandwich shop in tampa and it's not even close. I almost don't even want to make this review because I don't want more people going there and increasing any wait times I would have, but the workers are awesome friendly people and the sandwich are AMAZING.

I tried Gonzo’s after seeing it the good praise everyone gives them and I understand now. My girlfriend and I are in love with Gonzo’s, it’s been the best Cuban sandwich (we both are the west Tampa) we’ve had in Tampa and will definetly return for more.

I was in the area and wanted to try a new sandwich shop to try, and noticed Gonzo’s had really good reviews so I thought I would try it out. I was greeted by the owners, were super nice/friendly and helped me with the menu. Ended up ordering the buffalo chicken sandwich with the steak fries, the chicken was tender and juicy, good seasoning as well. The sandwich overall was great and the fries was awesome as well. I felt like family in there, very good atmosphere and talked about the Rays/baseball. I recommend this place if you’re looking for a good sandwich or burger. Great food and prices! Will come back again soon.

I went to Gonzo's on a work trip, at the outbreak of the Pandemic. I am an amateur chef. I do not work in food, but I love to cook at home. One of my favorite movies is Chef, and when I learned I would be working in Tampa, the birthplace of the Cuban Sandwich, I knew I had to have my first bite of a Cuban Sandwich in Tampa Florida. Gonzo's made that first bite, utterly divine. I will never forget how good this sandwich was. I could taste the limes and citrus in the pulled smoked pork, despite the pickles and mustard (which I usually consider overpowering in anything). It was tender, it was buttery, it was cut lengthwise, which made it easy to get good bites without food coming out the side, and it was still perfectly crunchy. If I have a reason to travel back to Florida, for any reason, you can bet I am going to make an excuse to travel out of the way to go back to Gonzo's. Thank you Gonzo's, for making what will always be a hallmark memory in my life exploring and seeking culinary excellence. 11/10.

Loved this place! My fiance actually found this place by accident when he was doing some work training in the area and loved it so much, he brought me the very next day! Food quality is fantastic and the guys working there are super nice. Both the guy at the counter and the cook checked in on us. Next time we are in the area we are certainly making a stop

Just went in on a whim, this is a top notch sandwich shop. Immaculately clean, promt and courteous service and of course the food was delicious! I had the pork drizzle and it was amazing, I could taste the love. I ordered garbanzo bean soup but have not eaten it yet as the sandwich filled me up. This is an absolute Tampa gem! I've tried almost every sandwich on the menu and can't bring myself to crown a favorite because ALL of them are seriously amazing! The quality of meat and bread are consistent with each bite and every visit. A father and son team who are very accommodating and welcoming. This is the quintessential family owned business.

Best Sandwiches in Flordia!! Family owned and the staff always takes great care of you. I would recommend the Pork drizzle, you won't be disaapointed, but you can't go wrong, all sandwiches are amazing! It's a $7 sandwich that you can't finish all in one sitting!

I am visiting Tampa, and was looking for something to eat that I can’t get where I am from. As we were driving, it was like the angels whispered: “look to your left”and boom, like a rose growing from concrete, there was this shop called Gonzo’s, and everything about the appearance, and energy the shop gave off, made me know that my taste buds were about to have the greatest experience of their lifetime, thus far. I wasn’t disappointed. 10/10 customer service was above and beyond, and the food was even better. Great way to start my visit. 🤤💪🏾

If you are looking for McDonald's quick food this isn't it. True art takes time and their sandwiches are a work of delicious art. Highly recommend.

Sandwich & garbanzo beans soup. Reasonble priced & serving size. Soup was delicious would have gave 5 * if it was a fully cup of soup for $5 and less broth.

The west tampa sandwich is to die for

A small sandwich shop on the corner end of a plaza, Gonzo's offers a unique sandwich experience. The seating I door is fair, but outdoor is extremely limited. I tried the Billy Cheesesteak and my girlfriend had the chicken noodle soup. The portion and price point were good for a lunch, and the sandwich was pretty good. I think if I went again I might try something else since I wasn't in love with it, but overall it was a good choice for a quick lunch stop.

Tampa guys serving up some home made goodness. I have eaten everything on their menu - at different times - and each one has been authentic and great. Thanks guys for keeping a little of West Tampa around!
