Delicious cheese! Brunost is my favorite, although Steakhouse Onion is a close second!

Had the asiago bagel and it was so delicious. The manager Gabe also came over and struck up a conversation with my boyfriend and he was so nice and thanked us for choosing the Cheesebarn! I don’t live nearby but I hope to come back soon.

8/27/24 My husband and I with my father in law and his wife stopped here on our way to Cleveland and it was such an awesome experience. I had an amazing time at Grandpa's Cheese and Sweetie Jumbo Chocolates! The customer service was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and they encouraged me to sample anything I liked. I ended up buying the Dill Cheese and Branch (Bacon Ranch) Cheese, along with a few sweet treats. The variety is incredible, with endless options of cheeses, pickles, jams, dressings, chocolates, brownies, and fudge. It’s a must-visit for any foodie or anyone who loves exploring unique flavors!

Love Grandpas cheesebarn, so many yummy cheeses! Also, lots of dip mixes,jellys, beef jekey, summer sausage, and many other items. Sweeties is also a fun place with a lot of different candies, including many different types of fudge. They have a nice seating area outside and play oldies music.

I drove an hour to visit the candy shop. I can no longer climb stairs so I walked all the way around the building to use the ramp. When I got to the top of the ramp, it was closed off. You lost a customer and I saved calories

Grandpa's Cheesebarn is whimsical and fun, but they really do have an excellent & broad selection of cheeses and candy, as well as sausage, pickled foods and other stuff. Plus, they also have a deli counter where you can get sandwiches, chips, and drinks for a decent lunch on the road. Well worth a stop if you're passing by.

Fantastic place to visit. Great cheeses, chocolates, candies, meats and more! Bought some old fashioned candy and took them on an international missions trip and shared the candies. They brought smiles to many, many people! Highly recommend this place!

This place has EVERYRHING!!! loved Joey in the sweet shop!! All staff was very helpful and amazing!!! I'm definitely returning!!!....I returned again in July 2023....stilll amazing!!! Love the staff!! Returned in 2024. Renovations are underway for a better experience! Still love this place!!!

Best place to stop by in your travels or if you live in the area! Awesome jams and jellies, fry pies, cheeses, dips, etc.. prices are good. There is something for everyone. Christmas time they had Santa and reindeer and kids activities. Definitely worth the trip!

This store had such a wide variety of snacks and cheeses. Dips, honey, and jams looked so good. Staff and service was great.

Although my wife spent $100 on snacks from this place, I wasn't all that impressed. Everything is priced around $10. So it wasn't hard to spend that kind of money. I didn't see see any cheese. I take that back. They had 2 cheeses wrapped and ready to go. And then we saw a mixed cubed pack and that's what we got. I think that we were expecting much more cheese than candy... Given the name of the place and all. Where is all the cheese grandpa? Update... I recently found out that the cheese is upstairs. Sorry Grandpa. I was wrong. My bad.

Edit: First off, still love it. Come once a year to stock up. Just a little disappointed about no hard licorice anymore. Apparently a lot of people have asked about it 🤷🏻‍♀️. Literally make a three hour trip and usually buy 4 bags. My heart is broken because they are so hard to find 😭 Omg 😳 The deliciousness that exists in the place 🤯 Like your tastebuds tingle with delight when you are checking out all of the delicious dips, chocolate's, cheese's, sauce's, jam's, jellies and whatever else I forgot to list! Today's visit: I bought Steakhouse onion cheese and the sweet bourbon glaze. Holy mackeroli!!! Grill a hamburger and top with the delicious glaze!! Add the yummy steakhouse cheese and top with caramelized onions. MOUTH EXPLOSION 💥 Complement that with the dark chocolate raspberry cups and a bottle of Boen Pinot Noir..... Just WOW!! You're welcome 😁

Can't travel past Grandpa's Cheesebarn & Sweeties Chocolates without stopping! Such a fun, unique place!

Beautiful place with so much to see and sample. I tried cheeses I never knew existed. I had a Monte crisco sandwich that was fabulous! Will definitely take another motorcycle ride out there. Very worth it.

The staff was very polite and helpful. They had some of the best cheese I had ever eaten. And these almonds are perfect

Cons: As you enter the property there are 4 buildings all labeled "Cheese Barn." Only 1 sells cheese but figuring that out is a pain. The varieties of cheese sold are fairly limited. The prices are quite high. Planktown market is better. Pros: Looked busy. Lots of people. So some enjoy the place. The staff is very friendly. Looked clean. But overall not much cheese variety and poor layout and signage.

It was a blast. Lots of goodies and the food was good. I'll stop again when I'm by there.

I think the chocolates are more worth the stop than the cheese. It's no Wisconsin-level cheese stop, but it's pretty good. Needs more curds.

Nice place to stop off the interstate and grab some yummy treats. Ice cream, cheese, chocolate goodies. Nice area in the middle to sit and relax a bit.

This place was very fun for our family of foodies. Tried about 15 types of cheese and came home on the airplane with several blocks, bourbon pretzels, balsamic, and pickles. I also found the fudge delicious and came home with a box of the s'mores flavor which surprised me because I'm normally a plain chocolate fudge fan.

Have always loved this place and make it a stop on all our trips to Ashland. However they have jacked up their prices sooooo high on both the cheese and candy sides. Prices are ridiculous especially considering most of the cheese and the candy is simply stuff you can find in a grocery store. There are lots and lots of "pasteurized processed" "cheeses" here and lots of flavored cheeses that allow the flavors to cover up lower quality "cheese". There are a few but not many real quality cheeses. On the positive side they give free samples of whatever you are interested in. The fudge is really good and one of the few things not available anywhere. Lots of nice shaded area to sit and enjoy your treats or sandwich. Just don't kid yourself that this is gourmet anything!

Saw the billboard and needed a break from the car, so we stopped. So much more than we expected. Very nostalgic like. Busy but not crowded. We made purchases in the candy store and the cheesebarn-yummy! Way more than just cheese and well worth the stop!!!

VERY VERY large selection of candy, fudge, cheese, chocolates, dips, and so much more. The staff was very friendly and helpful in telling me which items were gluten free and which weren't which was very nice of them. This place is very cool and I recommend stopping by to check it out if you are in the area!

Many, many, many choices, but a little pricey...

They did not have what I wanted in stock, but I was able to pick up a few other cheeses that looked interested. They were all delicious.

This is an absolute must stop if traveling. I have stopped at the Ashland location several times. If you love cheese, chocolate, candies, jams this is your place. I have purchased several cheeses, candies and chocolate, honey, and odds and ends..all were great. The best cheese and honey. Their fudge is amazing too! I do not like fudge but I always try or buy some. I'm surprised every time when I buy it. The staff are great. Always offering samples. You can try any of the cheeses before buying. They have seasonal items as well. Bring a cooler, freezer bag, or you can purchase one of their freezer bags and ice packs. It's a good little stop to even get out and stretch.

My daughter went here to bring me back some homemade peanut butter fudge. When I read the ingredient list, I almost fainted. Full of unnatural things that would not be incorporated in homemade fudge. I’m appalled ‼️Overpriced for unnatural ingredients too.

I bought so much cheese from this place that the TSA thought that I was a threat to national security. Do you have any idea how dedicated a man must be to buy a threatening quantity of cheese? In reality, Im just addicted to cheese and was spoiled for choice. To clarify, Grandpa, his barn, nor his cheeses were threatening in any way whatsoever. In fact, the employees were exceedingly nice and stuffed my slovenly gob with copious curds. They only wanted to stop me because 10lbs of cheese in a suitcase is "suspicious", if they only tried the lancashire red cheddar, then they would understand. It's sharp enough to bring a grown man to tears.

From meats and cheeses, jams and jelly's, and jerky to snack food that's only one building. The other building has candy galore not to mention the baskets that are sold in another structure. This is a must stop place if you're in the area.

Amazing place of cheese and delectable treats

This place is WELL WORTH the stop off the freeway. The main building is filled with everything from cheeses and meats, to sauces, spreads, salsas, dressings, spices, lotions and candles. The staff is so helpful and welcoming, letting you try a variety of cheeses and spreads without feeling pressured to buy. The cheeses are all so different, yet all tastefully and intentionally crafted. We loved our experience there and can’t wait to go back!!

Grandpa's Cheesebarn is a must visit. It's very conveniently located right off the freeway. They have a wide variety of cheeses, meats, jams, sweets and more. It's always a fun and pleasant experience. They will give you samples of almost anything . I have yet to try something that I didn't like. Our family loves the experience and we stop at least twice a year. The turtle candies are top of the line! If you are passing by it is absolutely worth the detour. Whether you are grabbing your treats to go or enjoying them there while playing the games they gave they have set up, it is ALWAYS worth a visit.

June 2024-They no longer have samples of cheese set out for sampling. You need to go to the counter and ask an associate for samples. I’m assuming this is an upselling tactic. If you go to Amish country the cheese places still have samples out among the cheese fridges. This place is still fun but we didn’t end up buying cheese as we didn’t want to have to ask to try each/any cheese.

The place itself is amazing. However, we didn’t see any warnings when looking at the google site. One of the pictures should show that if you have any food allergies don’t bother coming. We have shell fish allergies for one person and nut for another. Both we can get cheese for just about anywhere. But everything here is listed as possibly having all top allergen cross contamination. It was really disappointing. I ended up taking my son to the grocery store.

A must stop destination between Columbus and Cleveland. Everything is excellent. The employees do a wonderful job with the large crowds.

While I live over 2.5 hours away, I make an effort to stop by when I am in the area. The fudge is out of this world delicious. And the Monte Cristo Sandwich I had when I stopped by for lunch was fantastic. The raspberry jam they added was amazing.

I've now stopped here twice within a few weeks. The staff is great and I've absolutely fallen in love with a few of the products. It's a little difficult to figure out that the cheese is actually on the second floor of the barn. I thought at first that the tiny display was all they had. I think it needs to be made a bit clearer. The candy building across the way is okay, the cheese is much more impressive

This is the first I've ever been. It was an awesome experience & I definitely didn't leave for home empty handed. The staff was amazing & you can sample literally ANYTHING they have for sale. I'm a cheese head, I love it, but for some reason none of the sample cheeses I tried were any good, in my opinion. I will say, I left home with some beer cheese& it tastes phenomenal with plain salted tortilla chips 🎉. I would definitely like to go back & give the cheese another shot.
