Grannys in Crystal River has always been my favorite place. I live two hours away from Crystal River. When we vacation there every year, we go to grannies every day. This year, the end of August 2024 the food was just horrible and over salted. I told the manager and she did nothing about it. Very sad to say I won’t be back. I got a Reply frm Granny’s. It was NOT ONLY th okra but Potato Pancakes. Mgr did Nothing abt it. Poor Management

A taste of southern cooking was welcomed after being at the beach for over a week. Food was superb, service was friendly, atmosphere was homey. Prices were very reasonable.

Recently went there. I really thought it would be good. I ordered hash 2 light poached eggs home fries raisin toast and of course coffee. I think a girl named Sam served us not sure very pleasant lady. I have been a waitress also restrauant owner. I will never complain to a waitress so I didn’t but should have. My home fries tasted OLD like they were in the frig way too long. Hash was canned and burnt and had extra black crap scrapped off a dirty grill that I couldn’t even chew. Couldn’t finish the meal. Coffee great. Raisin toast well buttered. Eggs poached perfectly. Guess what I am 68 years old and suffered with food poisoning for 10 days. How do I know that well I have a roommate we eat the same thing everyday except for that day. I tipped my waitress well cause she was great it’s not her fault the person in charge of the kitchen isn’t doing the quality control

Service is hit or miss, food is awesome!

You can’t go wrong with the locals favorite classic take on traditional southern breakfast. From the homemade biscuits and gravy to the pancakes to the southern hospitality. Food and atmosphere create a warm welcome to any family. Highly recommended.

Very noisy...didn't have ham for ham dinner that was a special. Has gotten quite pricey for small cafe atmosphere it use to be.

We love Grannie’s! It’s not just the employees that are sweet, but the patrons too! Our kids loved meeting Miss Jonie! Sam our waitress was absolutely wonderful. Portions were very generous and the prices are just right. Thank you everyone at Grannie’s— this place will always hold a special place in our heart! 💗

Home cookin better than Momma fixed it. Quickest damn service ever, especially for the quality of the food. Waitress was top notch. Place was busy, but still no sweat for them to get it done. Not one complaint. Wish it was closer to home. I stopped in with my Wife for lunch. Hadn't been since a local friend took me there 10 years ago. Wish I was not from Indiana! We will go back again! 🇺🇲 *Update- Went in November 2023 and it sucked. Service was not the same. Quality was not the same. We sat in the back and it sucked. We will try it again in August and if it sucks again I will never go back. Been going for 16 years once or twice a year and it is always top notch. This was the 1st time it has ever sucked.

Awesome old school dinner incredible food

I am a B&G connoisseur. Man, you gotta cook the flour out and make a good roux before making the gravy. Just not good raw flour flavored gravyish with no sausage.

Seating is a little tight, but food and service is good. Everyone is super friendly.

The food was fine, but the waitress got the order wrong, and the order didn't come out all at the same time; I was halfway through my eggs when the hash browns arrived, a few minutes later, the toast arrived. I like my full order to be served together.

Everything was good. There were a lot of specials and servings were more than enough.

We love this place so much, we wouldn't even call it a "restaurant," we call it our home away from home! We eat here at least 3 or more times a week, and while our cholesterol levels are probably not happy with that, our tummies sure are! Best food, best people, best place to enjoy a good old fashioned southern breakfast! This gem is the epitome of Southern comfort with plenty of warm smiles, genuine hospitality and a cozy, down home feel that sets the perfect vibe to enjoy a delicious, hearty meal that will leave you loosening your belt buckle as you contemplate dessert! Can't go wrong with a visit to Grannies!

We had a wonderful breakfast. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Small place, so there will be a wait, but very efficient and the wait was never too long both mornings that we were there.

We were in today for the first time and we will be back!! My senior friend and I both have special diets and we live by those 6 days a week! We cheat on the 7th day at one of our local family owned restaurants. This place was beyond expectations on everything. We had a fantastic waitress that teased me about my grits with butter, sugar and milk. She recommended a ham steak to go with my pancakes that was as big as their dinner plate and thick as well. Their hamburger steak combo looked great from across the table too. I promise you won't be disappointed here. If the lot is packed and it usually is, waits are never longer than 20 minutes for the best home cooked meal in town. Ohhhh Grillllllled Cornbread is a must try!!! We will be back!

The group of ladies that run this restaurant have the best customer service I have seen in a long time. The food was excellent and well prepared, the restaurant was clean and you have that down home feel in the atmosphere. There’s so much food to pick from we can’t wait to visit again.

Granny makes a great breakfast. Local restaurant with breakfast better than grandma used to make. My over medium eggs were done to perfection. Home fries were great. Bacon was perfect (asked for crispy and got crispy - (not burnt and not soggy - you get more than what is in the picture, I started eating before I thought to take a pic). Wheat Toast was even worth writing about. Came to the table hot and buttered and toasted perfectly. My wife had scrambled eggs and pancake with her bacon and home fries. Excellent as well. Server and hostess were friendly, Made you feel at home. Food came out fast with no problems at all. Highly recommend for anyone visiting crystal river area. This place is a must for breakfast.

Grannie's is what I call a diner style restaurant. Boths and tables with a dining counter as well. I ordered the two egg combo with bacon, home fries, and a biscuit. My dining partner shared some biscuits and gravy with me as well. When taking our order the server asked if I wanted crispy bacon or regular. I celebrated the question as I am a crispy bacon girl. I do not appreciate soft cooked fat on bacon. The eggs were scrambled fluffy and cook all the way through. So many restaurants we have been to have runny scrambled eggs. 🤢 The bacon 🥓 was indeed crispy without being burnt and I loved every bite. The home fries were delightfully seasoned, crispy on the edges and smothered inside. The biscuits were tender, fluffy inside, flakey outside, and such a wonderful butter 🧈 taste I really didn't need honey. The gravy on the biscuits and gravy had just a touch of too much salt, but was definitely homemade, and we both enjoyed the flavor. There wasn't so much salt that we couldn't eat it. It was just a smidge on the over salted line. Service: Upon entering Grannie's were greeted and told to sit anywhere we wanted. Our server came over immediately to take our drink orders. Very quickly she was back with drinks and asked if we had any questions or needed more time. We placed our order and again she returned quickly with the biscuit and toast. A few short minutes later she returned with our meals. Our server checked with us no less than four times asking how our meals were, if we needed refills, and refilling coffee and tea. Once we finished she asked if we needed togo boxes or cups and if we wanted to order desserts. We declined desserts and she immediately pulled out the check. She told us not to hurry and stay as long as we needed. We both enjoyed Grannie's and will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

When they have a place to park your truck and boat I'll start going back . not allowed park across the street anymore...I know other boaters that are disappointed...oh well Grannie's loss...

Sundays are very busy but the turn over is quick! Sam just like green eggs and ham she was amazing very accommodating! Will definitely come back again!

Service was good enough food was terrible. I ordered 2 eggs over easy smoked sausage home fries cooked well a pancake. Eggs were made fine home fries came out deep fried and burnt...waitress took them for a remake..smoked sausage was way over done could barely cut with a steak knife ...waitress took for a remake pancake was thin, soggy and flavorless no vanilla extract or anything. This place gets high reviews but I'm not sure why. Sadly you are better off at McDonalds than this place.

It was our first time ever at Grannie's. It was very popular. The atmosphere is that of a dinner. Nothing fancy. Our service was great with fast food and our young server was quick and pleasant. I didn't care for my French toast it was bland for my taste but my wife and granddaughter liked their breakfasts. If we get back that way again it will be on our radar to return to Grannie's.

Classic diner with oversized coffee mugs, and counter seating. Our server was experienced, almost 25 years! She did great. My omelette was awesome, but the kitchen left off the onions my wife ordered on hers. Under new ownership. Currently closed Wed & Thurs but may start seven days in the near future.

Grannies was ok, nothing to go out of your way for or wait in line for more than 10 mins. Establishment is old, not kept up with. The decorations & signs look like if they aren't cleaned often. Service was not good, people seemed a bit rude, including the customers.

Very busy, must say that the biscuits must be the best I've ever had and the gravy was very good. I'm not a fan of the pancakes, no offense just not my fav. Service was awesome, very friendly, easy to see why it was sooo busy.

Crowded every day, so you figure. Waiting line outside was at 6 when I got there.

Waited 30 minutes to get in and not sure what all the fuss is about. Food was ok portion was skimpy and we waited at least 20 minutes for our food. The daily special was gone so had to settle on something else but chose poorly. Probably not a spot I’ll go to again. Yes that was the entire portion in the picture.

Perfect diner vibe with huge portions and fast service. Breakfast ham and eggs meal could nearly feed 4!

I didn’t think I was that hungry but I ate the WHOLE plate! Grannie’s not messing around. This mom and pop might not seem like much but the parking lot is full for a reason. Quick service, yummy classic Southern eats and very fair price. And yes, the sweet tea is good.

I really liked it. It's just a cool little old fashioned breakfast diner place with lots of people who are very friendly and easygoing. It makes me feel nostalgic. Everyone working there is working hard but still in a good mood taking a few minutes to talk to you and joke around a little bit. My food was good. I just got an egg sandwich with some bacon on it. I wasn't expecting it to be as tasty as it was. They must have some secret recipe. Definitely want to try it again. I have to look again at that sign to figure out when they're closed. I think it was maybe Tuesday and Thursday??? That may not be right so don't quote me. It does a really good business. Didn't know if I was going to get a parking space at first. That's usually the sign of a good place. I definitely will go back and try something else. I'm thinking maybe biscuits with gravy or some other comfort food.

Like the diners of yesterday used to be .. there learn your name and welcome you like your coming to their house for a meal

Old-school diner, old-school food, and old-school servers. Excellent breakfasts, excellent catfish, excellent prices, and excellent service. Don't expect anything fancy, but if you want a real diner with great value, 5 stars. Don't change a thing, please!!! :-)

Visiting from Philly. You just can’t get breakfast like this up north. The chicken fried chicken, sausage gravy and fried catfish were 10/10. Fast, kind service. Highly recommend!

Great home cooked food and awesome service

Stopped in based on the great reviews and the reviews were spot on. Took a seat at the counter and was sipping a hot cup of coffee as soon as I sat down. Breakfast menu had a decent selection and I opted for Grannie's Supreme 3 egg omlette (ham, cheese, onions, green peppers, and tomato) I picked the homefries and the biscuit which made for a perfect meal. The restaurant seemed quite busy and despite that, my meal came out really quick and was able to enjoy my coffee while it was still hot. Service was great and was welcomed as if I were a local. All in all, a really solid meal. Definitely a great establishment that all the locals go to. I also ordered a chocolate chip pancakes to go which were also tasty and devoured by my son who opted to sleep in. Despite being packaged to go, they were still good. Definitely would recommend the dine in experience and enjoy the meal. While often like to try new places during my travels, not sure if any other local place can match this place..

I've been there a few times over the years and was there once a out a year ago. I can't remember what I had but everything was always good and I can't complain about a thing. Service was on point and it had an inviting atmosphere.

We had breakfast pancakes, eggs, bacon and grits with coffee. It was good. Service was quick and the waitress very nice. Prices are reasonable. It's a small place so some days there may be a wait. Good food.
