This is my 3rd season coming to this place for crabs. I used to go to another crabshack in Dover but they closed down. I picked up a dozen medium today and once again they were heavy and delicious and always better than the previous place I went to get crabs. They put just the perfect amount of seasoning on them. Highly recommend Grappling Crab Shack.

Buyer beware. Sold us crabs as “mediums”. Charged $32 for a half dozen. Their dozen price was $45 but only had 6 left. Most were only 5” tip to tip. No smalls were listed on their price board. One was just under 5” (illegal and undersized in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia). They are close to where we live but will drive further for better. Never again.

We ordered 3 doz jumbo crabs today. We also got a pint of Chesapeake Pasta Salad. The crabs and the pasta tasted great. They were well worth it. I definitely recommend The Grappling Crab Shack.

What a truly hidden gem adding the Yellow Breeches Creek. We split a dozen medium-large mix of crabs and a pint of pasta salad. Everything was delicious. And definitely for more large than medium crabs. It’s a take out/picnic place, so there is no inside seating or bathroom. If you want to eat by the scenic creek, like we did, bring your own picnic supplies (table cloth, plates, wipes, utensils) and beverages. They have crab utensils for sale. Depending on the season, bug spray is recommended. If you want crab cakes or fries, check their web site for the food truck schedule. Also, there’s an ice cream shack that is only open on the weekends. We’ll be back to try the ice cream, crab cakes, coleslaw, and fries. The service was friendly, patient, and helpful.

We drove an hour to pick up crabs and we NOT disappointed! These were hands down the best crabs I have ever had even when living in Maryland. They were filled with meat from the first to the last! I highly recommend, totally worth the drive. We also got this steamed shrimp and they were huge and really good.

My husband and I have been getting food here at the shack for a few years. It is always a special Summer treat for us as it can get pricey if you order everything on the menu 😆, which we always do. Yesterday, I stopped by for the first time this Summer and oh boy was I thrilled to see all of the upgrades to the space! In their beautiful haven along the Yellow Breeches Creek, they added tables and umbrellas for guests to eat their food at right on the Breeches! Also, there is now a Lisburn Creamery Ice Cream Stand there in their nook as well! All of it now connects to Lower Allen Park. The food is always delicious, everything loaded with crab that they get from the Chesapeake regularly. The service is also always great, though yesterday it was top notch! I called 7 minutes before they closed and they still took the time to make my large order. Understandably so, there was a small miscommunication about my order and they fixed it promptly after closing time without hesitation, without blaming me or anyone else. I felt entirely appreciated and taken care of. I highly recommend this local fav for takeout or to dine outside by the creek with ice cream for dessert.

Crabs today were simply top notch. I probably order from GCS around a half dozen times a season. Today's crabs were the best ever! Love supporting a family owned business, too.

We kayaked the yellow breeches and found this spot, stopped along the way and had some crabs. I'm from Maryland so I was very hesitant. Crabs were excellent! They even use JO seasoning. I can't wait to stop back in. Hey have some picnic tables set up, only downside is there is no place to wash your hands and no port a potty.

Crabs are good. There expensive but they are expensive everywhere so there's that. If you want Crabs that don't itch and taste good.....get some.

Probably bought 4-5 bushels in last 3 years. Just purchased bushel of large crabs yesterday Every single crab was heavy and a legitimate large crab. I’m from Baltimore originally and would stack Grappling Crab with any crab location in Maryland. As expensive as crabs are these days you want to get your money’s worth. We certainly did. Highly recommend

I was pretty excited about this place from the reviews. It's located along the river which is nice. We ordered ahead of time and got our food to go. We ordered jumbo crabs which were heavy and great. We also got a crab cake which came uncooked (??), large, but mostly filling instead of crab. The Jambalaya was a mixed bag, some liked it, others didn't. It wasn't a cajun jambalaya, more of a herbed mix. Overall, we may come back for crabs but not the other food.

Got a dozen of the Jumbo steamed crabs. The crab were clean and good sized. Have nothing but good things to say I would recommend this place to anyone looking for seafood. Very impressed with everything thank you for the great food!

Ordered 1/2 bushel of steamed crabs. They were delicious. Freshly steamed. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the crabs. Everyone loved them.

I've been here about 3 or 4 times now and always had a good experience. They steam the crabs to perfection and never a dead soggy crab. The crabcakes or restaurant quality. I had some great crabcakes at a local restaurant and they were excellent but these had more crab meat and costs less. Thanks guys for bringing my hometown food of Maryland to small town in Pennsylvania. You know, I'll be back.

These guys were at the make a wish event yesterday and I ate there. SO GOOD! Cheesy crab bites and fries. Generous on the crab meat, cooked so crispy and just delicious. The fresh cut fries were perfect. Portions are huge. 1 meal, 3 of us shared and we were stuffed.

Wow.....I've moved here from Texas for more then 2 years and craving for blue crabs nowhere to be found. Finally found this place and got 2 dozens of live crabs and they so meaty and super fresh. I highly recommended this place for blue crabs...! ☆☆This will be my favorite place for crabs☆☆.

Their food truck came to my job and it was definitely my favorite one that's come by far, they have REAL MARYLAND male crabs. I grew up in Maryland so it's disappointing when a place says they have Maryland blue crabs and they are...young or female. But these guys know what's up and I hope they come visit again, the food was cooked perfectly the portions were great and they kept the truck very clean and tidy which is always a big plus for me! I definitely recommend

OH MY GOSH they literally have the best seafood. We got a dozen of large/medium, crab balls with Parm, crab cakes, and crab and corn chowder. NONE OF IT WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT. My husband is from Baltimore and he said he's finally found a place with super good sea food. He loves blue crabs and we get them from here each time. This time we got more and before we left we both said maybe we should buy extra because we knew we would love it and regret not having more later. Thank you!

The crabs are GREAT my fiance (native baltimorian) gives them a 9 out of 10. Super meaty and seasoned perfectly. The jambalaya is good could use a bit more heat but still good. Great crab spot thanks you all have saved me trips to Baltimore to satisfy her crab cravings.

Absolutely outstanding hidden gem for crab in Central Pennsylvania, on the Yellow Breeches and crabbing from their own boat on the Wye River. Both whole crab and crab cakes are excellent, and the sides stand up well next to them. We first started getting our crab from them three years ago, and now we wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.

The Grappling Crab Shack, hands down, is a top notch business. The owner, Rob, was extremely responsive to my phone calls/questions, not to mention the awesome service, The Grappling Crab Shack, provided at pick up. I ordered 1/2 bushel of crabs and 3 pounds of the Gulf shrimp for Christmas. The crabs were extremely delicious as were the shrimp. The crabs were some of the biggest crabs we ever saw/ate! and they were so filling that we had to put our Christmas ham back in the fridge. My brother in-law, who consumed crabs up and down the east coat, said the crabs from The Grappling Crab Shack were some of the best hard shell crabs he ever had. I think I started a new Christmas tradition, as my family is already asking me if I will be ordering next year! Do yourself a favor; if you never ate from The Grappling Crab Shack, go ahead and try it. You won't be disappointed.

Got A half bushel a month or so ago. It was amazing! Great price and everything was ready when I picked it up. Even gave a discount because I ordered ahead of time.

I had the jambalaya and fries when the truck was at Lower Dauphin Middle School. The food was fantastic.

I drive by this place almost every day and never stopped by. I saw the good reviews and decided to check it out. I bought the chowder and it was amazing. It filled me up and tasted very good. Great experience.

Coworkers and I stopped out to the Grappling Crab Shack at Norlanco in ETown. I got the crab cake sandwich and fry combo and it was delicious! I loved the sauce that came with it too. Definitely check them out at a location near you! 🦀

We traveled to Lancaster to try their food truck and what a welcome surprise. We had the fresh Maryland crab cake sandwich on a potato roll and their french fries. I asked for non seasoned as they do put seasoning on them.. I found their crab cakes to be delicious and with little, if any,filler. BEST crab cake sandwich I have had in a while. Friendly servers.Since they have a location in Lisburn area, we just may have to go there for when they have hard shell Maryland blue crabs.

We just got dinner from the food truck in our neighboring development. Wow! The crab cake was delicious, the fries hot and plentiful, and the chowder was awesome! The sauce for dipping should not be ignored! We will certainly be repeat customers.

Been getting crabs from them now for almost 3 season and they have always taken great care of us and we got awesome crabs. They also take care of us Veterans so that makes them even better in my book.

I was slightly disappointed when I arrived to pick up my bushel of larges to discover they only were giving mixed, however the lady who gave me my order was wonderful. She explained why and what happened and was very friendly. No one was disappointed in the order. The crabs were delicious - seasoned perfect and the crab cakes were excellent as well. It was a little bit of a drive, but worth it to have this wonderful feast. Will definitely be back again. Thank you!

Food truck came to my neighborhood! Easily the best crab sandwich I have ever had and a great deal for the portion size of actual crab meat!! Not a bunch of filler and the tartar sauce was homemade with a hint of spice and just downright delicious.

Ordered a 1/2 bushel of large crabs. Got a call Sat that they weren't gonna have enough larges to fulfill the order. Asked if mediums would be ok. First off, much respect because some places would have charged us the same. Secondly, they threw in some Jumbo's on top of the mediums just as an inconvenience. Pretty great customer service, and the crabs were great. Think we found were we are finally get our crabs from here on out!

Heard from neighbors that the food truck was coming to our neighborhood today and decided to give it a try (our family are all big time crab lovers)!! We were not disappointed at all!! The crab cake was one of the best I've had in a very long time!! Full of crab meat and not a lot of filler!!! Loved it!! I also tried the cheesy crabby bites my kid had and they were fantastic as well!! We will absolutely be eating some meals in the future from your permanent site in Lisburn!!! Highly recommend!!!

Had a stand at HMC today to benefit United Way. I had the cheesy crab bites and the crab fries. DELICIOUS! Will for sure be looking for them again!

They have an amazing crab cake! Their homemade sauce is beyond tasty and beats most spicey relish tartar. The Grappling Crab stand was at the Lititz Airport Air Show today and we were very glad we came across them. Looking forward to catching yo with their location in Lisburn.

We floated in yesterday we're definitely going to make this a regular stop. The crab cake was the best I've had. They make a slightly spicy sauce to go with it. Yum! We also had the jambalaya. Also delicious. It was definitely spicy, so only order if you can take the heat. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. They cooked our crabcakes on the spot and walked them out to the picnic tables along the creek while we drank the beer we brought.

Crabs and service here is above par. super place to meet and chat with coworkers. the bill was fair.

Great crabs and the owners are extremely nice, helpful and pleasant. Definitely order ahead on weekends, they are typically busy. Update - just got 1/2 bushel of medium crabs this past weekend, june 15th, 2019 and they were excellent! I'd say they were about as good as any I've had! Great for our crab feast that evening!

This food truck came to our fire and ice festival in Lititz this year. My husband got me a crabcake sandwich Friday night. It was so good that I got one the next day, as well. Their housemade remoulade sauce is amazing! It has a little bit of spice to it. Definitely go here, if you get the chance! Hope to see you guys at the craft show, in August!

1st time customer today. We got 1/2 dozen large just to try them out. Crabs were steamed to perfection and ready exactly on time.....allow 1/2 hour for them to prep. Very friendly owners who also are licensed commercial crabbers (that’s why they are closed 3 days a week.....have to spend time at the bay on the boat to fish....). We will definitely go back for steamed crabs again.

First time there and awesome crabs like the way they took time to tell us about them and there busin essence and where they get there crabs, very good price was very great and they were full of meat, will be going back soon

These people and what they do is amazing!This is a mom and pop, customer oriented business. We ordered half a bushel of mediums and when we went to pick them up the man running the front was so sweet. Ny boyfriend has celiac disease and isn't able to have gluten and the jambalaya they had advertised was of course made with wheat. We got to talking and he brought me a free sample of jambaylaya and explained to my boyfriend that they have accommodated other people with gluten allergies in the past as long as they gave them a reasonable notice. How cool is that? A place that will still go above and beyond for its customers, our of nothing other than passion in the product they sell! I have been eating and picking maryland crabs since I was a small child and the bonding experience that comes from sitting around a table with people laughing and eating is unlike anything else. These people are the definition of mom and pop and give me hope that my hard earned cash can go to honest men and women who care about more than just turning a profit. Please give them a try so you can taste the freshness and the hospitality this place has to offer!

I am a native Marylander & have been getting crab here since they opened. This year we also started buying their crabcakes. They are the BEST!!!

The crabcakes were excellent, full of meat and great crab flavor. The Chesapeake pasta was delicious. The jambalaya was amazing as well.

I would give them 6 stars if I could. I have eaten a lot of hard shell crabs in my life and these are the best crabs I've had in a very long time, maybe even ever. I have ordered from them several times to make sure the first wasn't a fluke and they have delivered excellent crabs every time. I have always pre-ordered and they were ready at the specified time on every occasion. Crabs have become quite pricey these days but Grappling Crab has the best prices and quality in the area. If they do not answer when you call, leave a message, they will call you back. They make it clear when you order that they do not accept credit cards so make sure you take cash or a check.
