Always enjoy Jon Corneal and his Compadres friday mornings, a great cup of coffee, some delicious "sweets" and some friends.

Just stopped by Hillcrest coffee, and I can definitely say I'll be back!! This cafe is beyond adorable; they have plenty of seating inside and outside and the vibes are super eclectic and fun. Per the barista's recommendation, I got the iced pistachio latte and was not disappointed. The coffee flavor is very robust and the pistachio flavor is quite light, but it tastes great! Would highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Such a cozy little coffee shop! I immediately felt comfortable and welcome upon entering. Plenty of drink options, but I went for an iced latte and it was delicious! They did a really great job fitting as much seating as possible, without feeling cramped. Staff was very friendly too! I really wish I lived nearby because I'd be here everyday, the vibes were that great. 🥲

So I ordered an iced caramel macchiato and an iced gingerbread latte. As a former barista and avid coffee enthusiast I can say neither tasted very good. It’s my belief that the syrups they use may be the culprit. Also a macchiato should always be layered. They did offer to fix this and were very nice. Beautiful environment, very friendly staff. Maybe consider making your own syrups.

When you want a nice coffee to sit back and relax. The bagels are amazing especially the asiago cheese bagel. They have board games, live music or bring your computer for work.

Ahh, Hillcrest just feels like home.. This is actually the truth, though, because Hillcrest Coffee is literally set up in an actual house in the middle of a Lakeland neighborhood ! There’s a lovely wrap around porch with outdoor seating and it’s super cozy and close quarters inside. This can both be good and bad. If there’s a lot of people inside it certainly gets quite loud. On special nights there is also live music from local performers, and that’s when the intimate space really becomes fun. I think the coffee itself is good! It’s not one I’d rave about but it’s definitely worth going and enjoying, especially sitting out on the porch if able. There’s also a special white kitty that likes to hang around the house and take in all the pets (and treats if you give in). She has let me pick her up too, such a sweetie. First time sitting down in this spot, to catch up with a friend....I always loved the coffee and atmosphere, and it was EVEN better getting to just grab a coffee with a friend and chat for a few hours (sorry Brian and others, I stayed a little long!). Always a great experience at Hillcrest. It can be hard to find a coffee shop with a sense of place and personality. Too often, other shops can feel sterile, cold and uniform in their design and branding despite otherwise great coffee. Fortunately, Hillcrest breaks the mold.
