⭐️A MUST-VISIT in the Hudson valley! The menu is interesting, fresh, and most importantly delicious. You can really taste the chefs passion in each dish. The lamb ribs and celery salad should be part of everyone’s order. We love the vibe, and the cocktails are also fantastic. 👍👍

Had the yummiest, freshest dinner at One With Land. Very generous portions for all courses—the lamb appetizer was enough for a main course all on its own! Pistachio salad was fresh and inventive, pasta was warm and rich with a kick, and pork chop succulent with an unexpectedly bright kale side. Service was a bit hit or miss, but it was Friday night and the place was packed inside and out. Tends to get loud, though we could still hear each other. If the food’s the most important thing to you (it is to us), One With Land is really outstanding.

Hands down the best restaurant in the Hudson Valley. You look at the menu and want to order everything. Nothing ever disappoints. Everything we’ve ever ordered is not just good, but excellent. Upscale casual and reasonable prices, not at all pretentious like a lot of the farm to table places that have opened upstate in the past few years. Service is excellent and the owners are lovely. Our new regular spot, for sure.

The food is incredibly delicious! I never leave reviews, but this place was shocking to us. We had the Whipped Ricotta Crostino, Mushroom Pate Crostino with the Striped Bass and Chicken Milanesa. We finished with the Olive Oil Cake. The location is very unassuming, but the food and the drinks are something to savor and linger over. One hundred percent recommend.

I don’t know why it’s taking us over 15+ amazing visits to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for this incredible restaurant and the wonderful owners Tara & Jared. We met them before One With Land opened and was still under renovations. They embraced us immediately and we could see and feel their dedication and passion for creating a great place to dine on a delicious , expertly conceived menu. We have NEVER been disappointed or had one bite of an appetizer or main course or dessert that wasn’t perfection. One With Land has truly become our second kitchen and home away from our local home. BRAVO With foodie love, David & Angela

We were so looking forward to eating here. We dined on 6/22/24. We had a 6:15 reservation in my name. My family is in the restaurant industry so we’re generally very forgiving and accepting of our experience. Last night was almost a complete disaster. The restaurant was extremely hot. When I asked the server/hostess if the A/C was working, she admitted it was not. She should have told us this before we were seated. The menu looked great and we were was excited to try a few things. I ordered the mushroom pate. It was delicious and fabulous. Also ordered the Tuna Crudo and Lamb Rib Chops. It was so incredibly hot inside the restaurant that it was warm in minutes. It’s very unpleasant to eat warm, raw tuna. It was exceptionally spicy and the menu did not make mention of that. Given the broken A/C, this fish should have come out with plate of ice underneath. Extra Efforts should have been made to accommodate guests in the heat. It was very uncomfortable eating in such an incredible hot dining room. The lamb was cooked perfectly but again, extremely spicy and no warning or preface by the server. I could not eat the last chop due to it being excessively seasoned. I enjoy spicy foods, especially Indian food. This was not enjoyable at all. My friend ordered a salad. It was indeed very fresh. She asked for a share plate and the server brought a bread dish. When we asked again , we got the correct plate. We also ordered Saratoga water. It was so hot that this should have come in an ice bucket as it was warm in minutes. We had to ask for ice, which the server brought, but she never asked if we wanted more when we quickly used it. The server was inattentive but pleasant. She needs a tremendous amount of training. Onto drinks… my friend ordered a dirty martini. It was perfectly clear martini and when we asked, the server said they use a “mix” that makes it taste dirty but it looks clear. It didn’t taste or look dirty. The espresso martini was perfection. We ordered a burger off the menu to go. The person who ate it, thought it was delicious. I’ll go back soon for one more try. Let’s hope they do better next time.

I will admit it, I am a foodie, or at least a food lover. This past week, on a recommendation from a friend, my wife, another couple and I travelled quite a ways to dine at one of the Hudson Valley's most talked about restaurants, One With Land in Pine Bush, NY. To say it was superb does not even begin to do it justice. Let's begin with the very charming and engaging husband and wife team that owns and runs the restaurant. Tara Braithwaite, who is responsible for the design and just about everything other than the food, is incredible. Her attention to detail, and I mean every detail, makes the overall experience simply delightful. Jared Braithwaite, Tara's husband and chef, is incredibly talented as evidenced by the varied menu, the absolutely scrumptious food and the almost sinful deserts, which he also crafts. More on all of this later. Let's begin with the atmosphere as you enter. The room is warm and inviting and just about wraps its arms around you and welcomes you into this amazing restaurant. The bar is, of course, well stocked with both global and regional brands and is also a very inviting space to enjoy a cocktail, time with friends and even your meal if you so desire. If you choose to take your meal in the dining room, Tara and the staff attends to your every need and I promise you will enjoy your stay as they are as friendly as they are attentive. I've kept you waiting long enough, on to the "main course" if you'll excuse the pun - the food. My taste buds are still alive with joy as I am writing this review a day or two after dining at One With Land. We went there with another couple and as a result were able to sample quite a few of the menu's offerings. The beginning course was amazing. The salads were alive with flavor and textures and, as you might imagine from a restaurant that prides itself on local sourcing, as fresh as can be. For me though, the mushroom pate crostino alone is worth the trip from just abut anywhere. I can't say I have ever had anything quite like it and it is incredible. We each had a different main course, a spaghetti offering, a pork chop, beyond description in terms of taste and tenderness, free range chicken milanese and a strip steak in a sauce I can still taste in my dreams. As if this was not enough, we finished the evening with an olive oil cake and a dark chocolate torte, both, as mentioned, homemade by Chef Jared and, very important to me, an excellent hot cup of coffee. In case you haven't gotten it by now, this restaurant is not to be missed. If you are near or have to drive a bit further to get there, do yourself and your taste buds a favor and get over to One With Land as soon as you are able. You will love every minute of this wonderful experience.

What an amazing night! Great restaurant committed to using fresh local sourced ingredients. Our party of 4 enjoyed the mushroom pate, fresh lettuce salads, and lamb chops to begin. For entrees, we devoured the pasta, steak and pork chop. Everyone enjoyed their entree and we all shared to get a taste of each creation. Lastly, we shared the olive oil cake and chocolate mousse! A perfect ending to our meal! What an amazing addition to the area! Chef Jared is a true talent and we can’t wait to go back again to see what else he plans to create!

Foodies remember restaurants where the food is SO GOOD that you feel it in your whole body. This is one of those restaurants! It's the next day and I'm STILL shaking my head saying "Wow!" My partner and I have been trying out higher end restaurants in the area for years with limited success and often saying "Well, we don't really need to go back to that one." What a really nice surprise! Dishes are clearly made with love and expertise, done very well, and mostly locally sourced as well. The place felt cozy and comfortable as well. Our group ended up getting mostly appetizers and splitting them - our own Tapas style veggie meal. When we tucked in, we were looking at each other a bit stunned with our first bites. The mushroom and ricotta crostinos were "stop you in your tracks" good. Other dishes were creative and delicious. Asparagus, farro, celery were some of the re-introductions prepared in ways we had not had them before, and made us consider them differently in a higher light. We ended up ordering some more bread just to make sure we got ALL available sauce in the bowls. All in all... AMAZING! So happy to have found you, Jared and Tara! Looking forward to working our way through the menu. ... It's in a modest, quaint old house nestled in the woods near the Shawangunk ridgeline. The drive to the north toward New Paltz is very pretty BTW if you go there during daylight with some of the best views of the ridge. Minor suggestions: 4) One or two more veggie/vegan/GF options would be nice. It helps those folk feel more excited to return when there is a modest rotation of options. 1) It was just a titch loud. Some creative sound reduction - just a bit - would be nice. I understand it's a whole thing in the biz to have some noise for customer comfort but not too much. If needed, music could fit that bill. (We were also there when it was busy, so that may be unavoidable at that point.) 2) Are you connected local farmers able to use prep leftovers and such to feed some of the animals? 3) We're hoping to talk with you about changing out the wall AC unit for a sleeker and more versatile heat pump on the wall. (Quieter, Cool AND heat as well)

Friendly and attentive service. I was impressed that our hostess remembered us from our first visit last year and that I have dietary restrictions. Once again the food was phenomenal. For appetizers we shared the Duck Fat Fried Dates with Labneh, lemon thyme and aged sherry vinegar, and the roasted beets with pistachio yogurt. Our entrees were the Steelhead trout with pea puree and mushrooms, and the Farroto with asparagus and topped with an over-easy duck egg. Absolutely fabulous from start to finish!

We didn’t have anything bad - the food was exquisite. Service, however, left something to be desired. We waited over an hour for our main courses. The wait staff did let us know the kitchen was short staffed, but with only 12 tables in the whole place it still shouldn’t really have been an issue. Regardless we would absolutely come back again, 110% recommend.

What an amazing place. We came without a reservation at the suggestion of our innkeeper and had the most delicious meal. The staff was accommodating ( did I mention it was Hudson Valley restaurant week?) and warm. The appetizers, crispy brussel sprouts and mushroom crostini, were meals unto themselves. The pork chop was tender and flavorful with a jammy apricot covering. the pike was flaky and beautifully paired with crab salad and pickled mussels. And the dessert! Olive oil cake that beats Grandma's! Highly recommend!!

I went during Hudson Valley Restaurant week and got the 3 course meal. It was delightful! The lamb rib appetizer was perfectly seasoned, the spaghetti was like having spring in a bowl, and the olive oil cake with fresh figs was moist with a crunchy outer layer that provided the perfect texture contrast. I love that the chef and one of the owners comes out to greet the customers and get their feedback. He's very warm, friendly, and genuine.

I would not eat here again! We’d been wanting to try this place for quite awhile and we finally made time to go. What a disappointment! Our burgers were bland and WAY overpriced. We recently visited One With Land, where the service was impeccable, embodying the mission of the restaurant's commitment to community and responsible food sourcing. The chef used to work with many of the farmers in the area at a previous restaurant he worked with in Brooklyn, and the menu showcases the Hudson Valley region, with every dish made from the freshest locally sourced ingredients. (Note that this restaurant was formerly known as The Hoot, we are so impressed with the transformation. Make sure to disregard older photos as the owners have beautifully revamped the interior themselves, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere). The food itself was out of this world; one of the best restaurants in the area – comparable to Clay at Wildflower, Chloe, Silvia’s, Prospect, Foxfire, or The Pines. The cocktails - they were expertly crafted and complemented the meal perfectly. The chef/owner shows his face in the dining room often, and his wife, the other owner, on the floor and at the bar making the cocktails throughout the night.

We are LOCAL patrons and beyond proud to call Jared and Tara our new “neighbors,” in addition to giving them RAVE reviews on the roll-out of their new business. My whole family has worked in the restaurant business, ranging from the front to the back of the house. You will be HARD pressed to find a restaurant that combines the “down home” warmth chef/family ownership with TOP-NOTCH culinary talent (Jared) and creativity. They’ve curated amazing dishes that are sure to suit every palette and sought cocktails and wines that complement them impeccably (shout out to Tara and Ellie). It is [beyond] our pleasure to welcome Jared and Tara, their phenomenal menu, personal hospitality and to celebrate the arrival of their restaurant to our back yard. Wonderful place - only wish we lived closer! My husband and I met the chef when he was working at a restaurant in Brooklyn. We truly appreciated his food. My husband even remember's Chef's pork chop and was excited to have it again. Now, he and his wife have opened this perfect little restaurant up in the Hudson Valley (where we hope to live one day). Nice bar, cozy atmosphere and just great people. We were finally able to come for a meal on our way down back to Queens from an overnight stay in the Catskills. The food is perfect; ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, the dishes feel clean and plant forward, and the flavors are excellent. Additionally, the prices are reasonable (which has become a rarity). And if you have heard about this celery salad: I will tell you that I hate celery, seriously, I don't get it, but I was encouraged to try it and so I decided to be adventurous - I loved it. I almost hate saying it when I have expressed such disdain for celery over the years, but I will make an exception for this salad and this salad alone : ) Definitely can't wait to come back next time we are passing through. We would be regulars if we lived closer for sure!

We went upstate with trying Jared's new place on the top of our to-do list! The food was just as good as ever. The highlights were the duck fat roasted dates (I totally stole this idea and made a version for Thanksgiving), the mushroom pate, the always outstanding pork chop, the linguine with 30 clove pomodoro, and the celery salad, but all the food was good. There were some kinks to be worked out service-wise when we went, but we'd definitely go back when were in the area.

The best restaurant in Ulster County. Hands down. We have been twice now. Every dish has the most incredible blend of textures and flavors. Extremely accommodating service. This is a fine dining experience without being pretentious. Their cocktails are creative and extremely well done. Don't sleep.

This recently opened restaurant in Pine Bush is a must-try for anyone looking for a delicious and cozy meal. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Started with the mushroom crostini, which was absolutely amazing; I could eat this all day. For my main course, I had the bone-in heritage pork chop, which was cooked to perfection and not dry at all and the apricots added a nice sweetness to the dish. Other dishes we had were the croquettes and garganelli pasta which were also very good choices. So glad we accidentally came across this place while staying in the area. Overall, had a great experience and would come back again!

We got in on restaurant week, and we're spoiled... because this is one of those places where you either want 2 stomachs, or can return over and over again (we're from California, and tried OWL on a lark, and were amazed.) Hope to return again someday before this system ends. Thank you One With Land!

Best meal we've had in the Hudson Valley. The Mushroom Pâté Crostino was so delicious I'd go back just for that! We also ordered the pork chop, the restaurant week steak, and the shaved celery salad. Everything was delicious and well thought out. The chef stopped by our table to check on us, which is always a classy move in my book. Only tiny gripe was that the gin cocktail was medicinal and weird, but the server quickly swapped it out for us when we mentioned it. One With Land will be our date-night-go-to spot from now on. Looking forward to them getting the fireplace going!

What a remarkable dining experience! Our table of six enjoyed a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts from the restaurant week tasting menu and were wowed by each dish. The portions are hearty with each dish surpassing anyone’s expectations. We started off with a bevy of martinis and margaritas and began the dinner with the mushroom pate crostini, the crispy brussel sprouts and warm capanotta with burrata cheese-ALL EXCELLENT (the serving size was so ample we could have stopped there, but I’m glad we didn’t). Next came an amazing salmon cooked to perfection and a pork chop with apricot mostarda. To wrap things up we adorned the table and our palates with warm doughnuts drizzled with chocolate hazelnut sauce and ricotta, a carmelized honey and bee pollen vanilla panna cotta and a sticky toffee pudding. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive and personable. The atmosphere was akin to dining in someone’s home and was made even warmer when chef/owner Jared appeared at our table to share his story (and memorize each of our names). Kudos to Jared and his wife Tara for bringing this remarkable experience to the Hudson Valley….we look forward to our next visit!

This was by far one of the most spectacular meals I’ve ever had. Each course surprised and delighted. The first bite of each dish revealed inventiveness and a caring touch. We later discovered the menu is supported by the chef’s long standing relationship with local farmers. Get your reservation now because once the secret is out you’ll be sorry you didn’t act sooner!

One With Land is a culinary gem; the culinary expertise on display is remarkable. The menu boasts a variety of dishes that expertly showcase the quality of the local ingredients and the creativity of Chef Jared. It's evident that the chef's background in Michelin-starred and fine dining establishments has greatly influenced the menu. Each dish is a masterpiece, thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. The combination of flavors, textures, and colors is both impressive and unforgettable. My husband and I wanted to try everything on the menu (I think we may have had most of the apps); the food was amazing. The service is top-notch. The owners, Tara and Jared could not have been more gracious. The staff is well-informed about the menu, friendly, and extremely attentive. They're eager to share the stories behind the dishes and ingredients, adding an extra layer of engagement to the dining experience. If you are looking for an absolutely delicious meal, One with Land should be at the top of your must-visit list. We look forward to going back with family and friends!

What a wonderful meal! Service was attentive and personal. The food was divine. We are vegetarian and we had a blast working through several of the thoughtfully prepared seasonal delights. The chef's touch was evident from texture to tone, from sweetness to acidity, and in the balance is very serious food that is high on substance and low on pretense. We are so happy this place has opened up in the Hudson valley!!!

There were 10 of us tonight for my friend and great Singer Roxanne’s Birthday Celebration Dinner and we were amazed at the food, selections, desserts, the absolute heightened culinary perfection of everything we tried and attentive service as if you were at someone’s home! The Food is SUBLIME …. A total “put you in another state of mind experience.” WOW! This place deserves some stars when a good food critic finds themself in this amazing culinary dream in the middle of our mountains , farms and pastures with horses directly across the street This place will have an amazing future and when all the papers start calling them a” Must Go To Place” … you will all know what I’m talking about. The interior is warm, nice artwork, bar, dining room and a little lounge with a fireplace that could probably ( my only idea) have a large harvest table for 8 -10 guests in front of a burning log on a fall- winter eve. Oh… and an adorable impeccable bathroom! I have not had such an amazing food experience in my close to 15 years back upstate in our Catskills. We had some major musicians from L.A. with us and we are all fairly well travelled and know what we like. They kept saying how cool this place is! And the food does not only blow your mind …. It’s not trendy, pretentious, or overly wrought…. but with great thought in the ingredients that accent each bite and has you closing your eyes while the textures and taste send you to a great place. You all know when you go on vacation to some wonderful place and happen upon a fantastic restaurant that burns itself into your memory & history and conversations for years to come? This is what I think we all experienced tonight in a wonderful Red House and we were not far away…. But only a few villages away in Pine Bush. An absolute gem of a place and incredible surprise….. Book a Reservation at “One With Land” on 26 Awosting Rd. in Pine Bush!!👍👍👍🍷🍷🍷

I’m not sure a restaurant could have blown us away more. We walked in without much prior knowledge other than a quick pass-by and a google search. It was, without a doubt, the best meal any of us have had in recent memory. We sat at the bar after only a few minutes wait, the co-owner and bartender took care of us and struck up a great conversation. After an impossible set of choices, we ordered: potato croquettes, delicata squash, spiced lamb ribs, eggplant with burrata, dates with labneh, burger, and rigatoni and topped it off with a spicy margarita each. Each and every dish was spectacular, fresh, well seasoned, and quite frankly perfect. We were enjoying it so much no one’s plate was safe from the neighborly vultures and we ate entirely family style. Many hours later and still an errant comment of “best meal ever” “I could not be happier” “oh my god, those dates” pops up in conversations as we continue our wonderful weekend upstate. Only 5 weeks since opening and this restaurant is firing on all cylinders. We can’t wait to return… again… and again… and again.

I literally held my breath walking into what was my old favorite restaurant the hoot owl. It was sold several weeks ago and I would frequent a minimum of once a week sometimes twice. As a graduate of the culinary institute I hold my favorite restaurants to a high standard and never hesitate to give my constructive criticism.. sometimes after a couple 2-5 drinks less than constructive.. nevertheless I rarely get wowed my first time at a new restaurant. Generally giving them some weeks to “work out the kinks” .. these guys hit the ground running! Marinated anchovies were fantastic. Not too salty, or fishy. Served with some very nice grilled bread. The bone in heritage pork chop served with apricot mostarda and chard greens, literally felt like kama sutra in my mouth.. I couldn’t recommend this place more.. excited for this new chapter in a continuously restaurant that has seen many renditions over the last 50 plus years..

So excited about this new upstate restaurant! It was one of the most delicious meals of my life. The mushroom pate with truffles was fluffy and flavorful. The corn with mascarpone was creamy and delicious. The rigatoni with cured pork was bursting with flavor. Portions were huge. And the olive oil cake was moist and dense and beautiful. We can't wait to come back!

We live nearby and there aren’t a ton of really special dining options. We’ve heard of this place opening and were excited to try it out. The bottom line is the food is SO GOOD and the owners are lovely. Many of the other reviews here speak to the newness and finding their groove. That’s fair enough, I think the folks at O.W.L. are fully aware of that and actively working on it, but all that is to be expected with a new restaurant. But it’s the food that they don’t miss on. It’s all so good. We had a collection of small plates and they were all delicious in their own way. We are VERY siked to have this place in our neighborhood now and will be regulars for sure.

Great new restaurant replacing the Hoot Owl. Fresh new interior, great menu, fun cocktails, and inviting atmosphere. The owners Tara and Jared could not have been more gracious or better hosts. The food was delicious and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Tara offered drink suggestions and Jared (CIA trained) personally made sure our food was to our liking. Let’s be honest there are limited fine dining options locally. This new restaurant is exactly what the area needs. My Wife and I will be loyal customers.

A new restaurant takes shape slowly. One with Land has recently taken over the beloved Hoot Owl. The new owners have worked hard to put their stamp on the place. Gone are the owls and darker wood paneling. In are light grey walls which are clean but leave one feeling a rather austere vibe in a country meeting place. The grey doesn’t warm up under bright lighting. Our server was nice. It felt like there was a routine hiccup or pause between the time we placed an order and the parts of the order would come. This was true for drinks which came one at a time with little 3-5 minute intervals between getting the first and last drink both times we ordered a round; it was also true with the various appetizers and mains we tried. As a prior review stated, the celery salad was quite good; so, too were mixed greens. We also tried a fish dish (salmon), pasta, and the burger. Both the burger and salmon came with white sauces. The burger was tasty. The salmon, which was nestled next to a Granny Smith and fennel salad, was a little over cooked. The pasta was fine, a dish we might’ve made at home, albeit we’d add more salt and some fresh cracked pepper. We will likely give One with Land another try in the coming months by which time they should find their groove.

First, I think it should be mentioned that this is a restaurant that has recently changed ownership and name and had taken over the previous establishment, the Hoot Owl’s review history. Anyway, we went for the soft opening. There is indoor and outdoor seating available and the atmosphere is pleasant. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and one of the owners ended up introducing herself. There was a limited menu for the soft opening and we chose the celery salad, a pasta dish and the burger. Now, the celery salad I would and may return for. It was truly unique and delicious! However, we were disappointed with both the pasta and the burger which seemed rather average and over priced. The accompaniment of clearly not homemade fries to the burger did not help. I’ll be curious to see how this restaurant fares. You have to offer something quite exceptional to be successful in an out-of-the-way location with those prices.
