Restaurant review: Very creative cuisine, host and wait staff service needs improvement. Little employee engagement upon arrival for our dinner reservation (7/19/24). Table service went from bad to worse. We were left for after 30 mins after dessert was served not knowing what happened to our waitress.I even got up and walked inside, only to not receive even eye contact from our waitress.

One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Went there for the first time with my family last year and we had to return again this year. The service is fantastic, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself exudes charm and you can practically feel your blood pressure lower the minute you walk in the door. The complimentary breakfast includes fresh rotating baked goods prepared by the staff and it's to die for. To top it all off dinner at the farm-to-table restaurant, we all agreed, was one of the best meals we'd had all year. The perfect place to stay while visiting Washington Island - and if you don't stay there do yourself a favor and at least have a meal at the restaurant.

Excellent food, wine, and service. Plenty of parking and excellent sunset views near the water. Can’t wait to eat and drink here again! We didn’t stay in the hotel this trip but would in the future.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Washington while we were on the island for a wedding. The staff was so welcoming and helpful. They answered questions and gave us advice on where to find things. The room was beautiful and clean. The grounds are beautiful and we even met the owner. She was so kind and sweet. 10/10 recommend if you need a room on the island. We will be back!

Had dinner at Hotel Washington this evening. Most of Washinton Island was closed so being one of the few places open I wasn’t sure what to expect. What a great dining experience. The setting, the music the menu as well as the food was fantastic. They are soon to close for the season, but I loved every bite. Great service and attentiveness. So happy we came here. Can not wait for next season.

Amazing, friendly staff, excellent food, and a beautiful patio. The portions are just right. The cornish hen is roasted to perfection. The braised pork belly is amazing.

Absolutely delicious food and peaceful scenery. We had the pork shoulder and crispy chicken, both of which we would highly recommend. Service was kind and attentive. We had a wonderful experience and will be back!

Whoa! Stopped for ice cream only and we were floored. I'll just say the Flavas: caraway and honeycomb, salted chocolate, roaster cherry sorbet. Nuff said.

This is a much belated review but didn't want to let it go as we so LOVED our meal here! We visited the Island in July of 2020 so the Hotel wasn't open for guests do to Covid restrictions, but chef Matt and his crew created a delicious dinner for my parents 50th anniversary to feed 18 people as a take out meal. He worked with me weeks in advance to go over options and dietary needs. We had a few gluten-free so he had many yummy options. We landed on many of their delicious salads, so fresh and delicious combinations, loved the gluten free beef dish and many pizzas. The homemade ice creams were delicious! What an amazing place to have such fresh local food. Must visit again!!!!

One of the best meals I have ever enjoyed in one of the best places. Hard to believe the level of cooking here. Amazing ambience. Have stayed the night here in the past and loved every minute of it. You can tell everyone has a passion for food and hospitality. A true gem. Well done. Thanks again

The staff was great! And the environment was good. But the food was very mediocre for the price.

Terrific food in a lovely historic setting. They take pride in using many local ingredients. The pork sammie was meltingly tender and the homemade ice cream flavors are inventive - try the Clouds in My Cocoa!

Excellent service. Great knowledge of wine, hotel and Washington island history. Delicious food; smoked fish dip, panzanella salad, cold beet soup, fish entree- yumm!!!!

Best customer service ever! Thank you very much for having us. Homemade pastries. Delicious food. The only thing was that there is no AC and we couldn’t sleep at night. Too hot in the summer.

We absolutely loved our time spent at the hotel, it really has casual elegant summer camp vibes. We stayed 3 nights, had dinner and maybe a little too much wine at the hotel. Food was top notch, everything is extremely fresh and well seasoned. Loved the cheese plate and house made pickled veg. I could go on and on, staff was extraordinarily kind and helpful… lgbtq+ friendly, we love everything it’s got going on so much we’re getting married here next year!

We did not stay at the hotel. We did however try to eat dinner and could not because we didnt have a reservation. MAKE A RESERVATION ahead of time. They only make enough food for reservations...so if you dont have a reservation you may not get food at all. The menu looked wonderful but we didnt have a reservation. Had to go elsewhere.

Restaurant was excellent. I had butter beans and sausage broccoli pizza, with black currant sorbet to finish. All three were excellent, but the sorbet was amazing. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, the decor simple and tasteful.

This place spoke to my soul. If you are looking for a hotel that has a gym, large TVs, a pool, or a barren place surrounded by concrete, you will not like this hotel. Our room (the Baltimore) was small but tidy and extremely comfortable. Organic cotton sheets and a fine mattress. I had a wonderful night's sleep. The next morning we were treated to a simple, yet elegant and delicious breakfast. I'm usually not a fan of breakfast, but I ate every morsel of this one. When you stay at the Hotel Washington you are made to feel as if you are staying at a good friend's house. Except for the fast WiFi, this place will take you back to the time when personal service was the norm and not the exception. All the guests were introduced to the breakfast chef, who also grows all the fresh produce served there. Yeah, you have to share a bathroom with other guests; but the bathrooms were spotless and the showers are really nice. There was never a conflict with other guests about bathroom use. We ended up conversing with all of the other guests. The Hotel Washington is the kind of place that encourages folks to open up to each other. Short walk to a bench overlooking the water and to birding trails. There is also a yoga center on the grounds. Outstanding and friendly staff make your stay a real pleasure. We love visiting Washington Island, this is where we will always stay on future trips there.

Charming, beautifully restored historic Inn. We wish we could give them six stars for their lovely owner Jean, wonderful staff, phenomenal farm to table food and exceptional service. We will be coming back!

What a wonderful inn, The historical hotel is totally North of the tension line! The owner friendly and very informative. Our room cozy , clean and comfortable for a B&B. Breakfast on the front porch was wonderful . Relaxing and definitely blood pressure lowering. No problems with shared bathrooms 4 in total. We totally are enjoying our stay

Hotel Washington is by far our favorite place to stay in Door County. After our first visit, we knew we had to come back for our honeymoon! Jeannie and her team are amazing- so kind and welcoming. We’re excited to come back as our yearly tradition.

This quent hotel by day turns into a restaurant with little room for hotel guests after the restaurant opens at five.

Warm and friendly staff. Sara (server) very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the island. Menu small but well executed. Very tranquil place for a quiet dinner.
