Loved staying here. Can't give it a high enough recommendation

Was driving up the Gunflint trail and turned off to find this great gem of a stop! Let ourselves in, headed down to the bar, was immediately greeted by Sonya and we sat at the bar. She recommended the Lumberjack Melt, and my wife ordered a salad. Food was ready in minutes. We enjoyed the personable service, beautiful location, and real community feeling as the bar filled in over the night. If you're looking for a place on the edge of the world, where everyone knows your name, this is worth the trip.

we have booked a few trips at hungry jack over the past 6 years now and never had a problem. staff has always been friendly, campsites always clean, bathrooms are nice and the new dock is nice. has always been very dog friendly. we were here during my birthday one year and was served cake and ice cream! very luxury campsite/lodge on the gunflint. always my go to in August.

Great history of this area! We drove up from Grand Marais to have lunch. Wonderful outdoor patio. Food was good, plentiful, and fairly priced. Cabins looked quaint, clean, tidy, campgrounds. Would be a great vacation spot for families.

For 30 years our family has visited HJL and it is considered a second home. If you need work done on your truck or camper, the staff jumps in to help. We sometimes jump in to help as well. Such a wonderful place for the whole family. HJL is what a MN lodge was meant to be: great fishing, good food, wonderful company.

Resort has great hospitality for all ready to have a good time. The owners/employees dogs are a great addition to the resort.

We have been coming to this resort for 16 years. We will no longer be coming because our dog was attacked by 3 resort dogs. We had our dog on a leash and we were walking around the grounds when 3 resort dogs came and attacked her. Penny, one of the dogs, bit her. There were 2 staff near the dogs, one of which did and said nothing. The other argued with us over if it was his personal dog who attacked our dog or if it was the other two. He was incredibly rude and argumentative. Neither staff apologized. This is not a safe resort to bring your dogs to. We are extremely disappointed and will no longer be coming back.

accommodations were amazing staff was quite friendly brought me back to my childhood we were about 2 weeks late for walleye in my opinion but had a good time despite that

My family and I have been camping at HJL & C for years and this weekend was another great time! The staff is very friendly (especially Kipper), the food is delicious, the beer is extra cold with a great selection and great food! Our dog especially had a great time swimming and hanging out with the resident Labs! Truly a special place to visit surrounded by the beauty and serenity! We can’t wait for our next visit!

The service here was outstanding, the lodge is absolutely beautiful and the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly! Will definitely be going back every spring.

Rooms in the Lynx cabin were not displayed on the website. I have slept on air mattresses more comfortable. Great location and staff were very friendly. Not worth the $400+ for 2 nights.

Only went to the restaurant and am so glad we did. Absolutely delicious food and a great environment. Pizza, awesome. Burger, awesome. Fish sandwich, awesome. Hot chicken sandwich, awesome. If up on the Gunflint Trail this is THE place to eat at. You don't need to be staying there to eat there, the restaurant will serve the public. Great views of Hungry Jack Lake out the back too.

We love the great bwca location and the food is really good. It's a great place to start winter trekking in the wilderness.

We stopped in after a morning of hiking to have a drink and appetizer. Bar tender, Kipper(?) was very nice and shared a lot of info about the area. We will definitely stop in during our next visit to the area and possibly stay on site. Highly recommend Hungry Jack anytime of the year.

Came here for a bite to eat on my way down from hiking a bit further up The Gunflint with a friend who lives in the area. Absolutely wonderful sandwich and beer, and the atmosphere is extremely inviting and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back!

We stopped in with our company from out of town. We got a few appetizers that were outstanding. Personal was very friendly and the service was great. The lodge was beautiful, and I can not not wait to go back.

I am rating ONLY the lounge downstairs for their food. We were camping somewhere else and came here for lunch. My wife had a hamburger on Texas toast with bacon, onion rings and BBQ sauce. I had a Reuben sandwich with onion rings. The Reuben was one of the best I have ever had. Simply fantastic. My wife loved her hamburger. Great atmosphere and fantastic service!
