Hands down the best restaurant in Panama City/Panama City Beach. We had the lamb lollipops, the Duck Confit fries, the Filet and the Rack of Elk and nothing disappointed!! Our server Jamison was friendly and knowledgeable. The Cookie Butter Biscoff dessert is a MUST HAVE and I’m not even typically the type to go for dessert. Great job, Jamison and Hunt & Gather Team!

First time eating at Hunt & Gather and it definitely will not be the last!! Paul was a great server with lots of recommendations off the menu. They have a great Beer & Wine list and they are expanding and will add a cocktail bar in the next year. I had some Mamma Mia oysters and the Baked Pimento Cheese oysters that were delicious!! My wife had the Cobia with spinach & creamy potatoes she loved it!! I had the Bison ribeye with honeyed carrots with roasted potato wedges. Wow it was delicious!! If you’re looking for a great meal give them a try… Go early they don’t take reservations but well worth the wait!!

We are locals. We have been here several times the food is usually quite good but the owners wife who runs the front of the house needs to be put in the back of the house. She was rude beyond words to us. Understand she does not seat an incomplete table, but our husbands were in the car coming from the Bay Point golf course we got their half hour before they opened. Waited for them to open, and when they did, she barely acknowledged us. You would've been a table of eight easily spending over $1000 at night. We ended up leaving as she refused to sit our table and said it would be full by the time they arrived And we would be on an hour and a half wait. They were less than a mile away so we left and went to C level. We had a very enjoyable dinner. They were happy to seat us right away. Maybe Hostile attitudes works for the tourist tr Trade but it doesn't work for locals. Keep it up you'll be back on the food truck.

The bison ribeye is definitely good, and no doubt I certainly recommend this place. It's just that some of the reviews are a bit over the top and may set your expectations a bit TOO high. The room is a bit small and not a lot of seating so it's a less than amazing atmosphere. The prices are a bit steep --- perfectly understandable given the unique and high quality cooking, but just know what you are getting into. So altogether I'd give it a balanced four stars. Yes, eat here when you have the chance, but come with realistic expectations.

Turned away at the door b/c we had our 12yo son with us. It was obvious the hostess (owner) did not want us to wait. We were told more than an hour wait and the lobster my son wanted to try was "only the tail, mmmmk". No reservations. No children policy. They want an adult atmosphere. What she doesn't know is this kid has travelled the world and eaten in more high class, fine dinning establishments, wineries, and castles than any of her other patrons.

Hunt and Gather is hands-down the most impeccable dining experience in Panama City Beach. We dined here on a whim after spending the day paddle boarding the inlets. After a brief wait, during which we were offered menus to peruse and an opportunity to order drinks from the bar, we were seated along the bar top next to the kitchen. The atmosphere upon walking in was warm and inviting, with contemporary modern art blending with rural taxidermy. A unique, individual feel of “rural but edgy” permeates the Edison-lit dining area. While small, it cultivates a close feel that truly allows for a conversation-oriented gathering with friends. From the six dishes that we ordered off the small plates menu, the kitchen delivered promptly and with exceptional presentation. Frankly, sitting next to the kitchen was a treat, as we were able to watch them prepare everything (and marvel at how it is truly done). For us, the “Butter Roasted Scallops” and “Duck Tacos” were out-of-this-world. Every dish we ordered offered a myriad of experience, from start to finish, and left us looking at one another in shock. Panama City Beach has had many fine dining experiences, however, Hunt and Gather is truly legions above the competition. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, we highly recommend Hunt and Gather for any dining experience. ETA: we returned two weeks later with my family for a family member’s birthday dinner last night, and tested out some of the naysayers for H&G’s accommodations. We had 9 people included in our party, one of whom is in a wheelchair and one with a walker. I called at opening to forewarn the owners of our plans, and although they don’t take reservations, they did not forget us! We waited for approximately 10 minutes and were seated at a table that comfortably accommodated us. The staff, and food, were excellent as always!! H&G has yet to disappoint, and the owners are phenomenal!!

Went for our 25th anniversary. The food was good. We had the scallops. They were ok. $30 for like 3 of them so that was a little disappointing. The Elk burger was very good. We got the crème brûlée cheesecake and it was delicious. We also had some kind of peanut butter mousse ( I think, I forget) it was delicious. I would go again and try the rest of their menu. Very unique dishes they offer.

Our first time here. It was a wonderful date night experience. We had to wait ( went to Newby's for a drink next door in between) but not too long considering it was a Friday night. The food was eclectic and some dishes were delicious! We tried outside our comfort zone but overall it was incredible. Really good flavors. Gotta get the salted Carmel cheesecake. However, I didn't love the tight seating so much, but my husband loves to talk with 'neighbors' so it worked out. It's def worth a try!

Absolutely incredible experience! Such a hidden gem in PCB. Amazing food and service. Bartender, David, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! We started with the kimchi oysters and red snapper ceviche. Both were incredible. My fiance had the bison ribeye, and I had the pan seared duck. Both were 10/10. The host and the owner accommodated our party of 6 at the bar and was sweet and professional. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Will be back. BTW, GET THE BISCOFF DESSERT. WOW.

Came in town from Kansas City, and while we usually don’t venture far from the beach ever, we are SO glad we did! Our server Jameson made the entire experience so fun, not only with just us but with interaction between tables and other guests which was so nice. The host was sweet and welcoming, the atmosphere was so vibey, and the food was IMPECCABLE!! 😍 we started with the oysters, the best I’ve had in a really long time, and the heirloom tomato & peach salad which was such a standout I’m going to have dreams about it!!! 🤤 I got the wild boar bolognese which was so creamy and flavorful! My girlfriend got the filet which was accompanied with heirloom carrots and creamy mashed potatoes. It was cooked to a perfect MR and I can’t say enough good things about both! ALL! We didn’t do dessert but we could hear the remarks of the tables surrounding and I know it was exceptional! We loved this experience celebrating many life milestones and we will absolutely return the next time we are in Panama City! 12/10 highly recommend!!! 😍🫶🏼

Great place, great atmosphere (although small so expect to wait for a table). Unfortunately, I cannot give this place 5 stars because I was VERY disappointed to see that they are serving Foie Gras! This is banned in over a dozen countries because the production of Foie Gras involves force feeding birds in an extremely inhumane and painful manner (a metal tube is shoved down their throats several times a day while they are trapped in tiny cages). There's nothing natural about it. I am a hunter. This is not a "PETA" post. I'm not against harvesting meat but I am 100% against unnecessary animal cruelty. I implore you to reconsider serving this! I would be happy to adjust my review accordingly. I would not have even patronized this establishment had I known the restaurant was taking part in this.

This place was amazing and tied with, or is the vest meal I've ever had. I ordered a dozen oysters for the table and then started the onslaught of indecisiveness that led to a great journey. I had the steak tartar, bone marrow canoes, red snapper device, and the wagyu beef carpachio,spelling may be wrong, but each bite was amazing. I also had what may have been one of the best things I've ever eaten in their Foie Gras, shut the front door and hit momma with a stick, cause it was amazing. If you're ever in the area, you need to check this place out! Small, and gets full quickly, so we went early.

Wonderful experience/food, from beginning to end. Greeted at the door and sat immediately. Welcomed by David at the bar with glasses of water, drink suggestions as well as menu suggestions. My family and I visited Hunt and Gather on Friday May 3rd. In total we ordered the Quail Quesadillas, Duck Tacos, Steak Tartare, Snapper Ceviche, Elk Burger, and Wild Boar Bolognese, everything was absolutely fantastic. Fresh vibrant ingredients prepared in an appealing way. Perusing the reviews all i can say is the negative ones seems to come from entitled self absorbed people who think a restaurants very reasonable rules don't apply to them. Yes it's true that they do not offer high chairs for children, but they were in no way rude about it, they simply said they did not have high chairs and the baby was welcome to sit in someone's lap. Yes it's true that they do not want you to wait inside the restaurant, inside is rather small and people waiting around the bar would make it crowded and take away from the experience from people actually seated at the bar. Won't seat you if your entire party isn't there? I don't blame them. Most restaurants have this policy so what's the big deal? If you can't get your stuff together enough to all be at the same place at the same time, maybe dining out isn't for you. If you're in Panama City Beach and want to try something different than your run of the mill seafood from the tourist traps, give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back.

Everything was fantastic! Our server was quick, friendly, and hilarious. The mood was great as well. We ordered the kimchi oysters to start, which were very fresh and tangy. We were practically licking our plates clean. Then, the heirloom tomato and peach salad. This had Basil, balsamic, caramelized onions, and creamy feta. These flavors were very fresh and summery and just played so well together. For main courses, the halibut and the bison ribeye were amazing. The halibut was fresh and flaky and served with creamy and flavorful mashed potatoes and collard greens. The bison ribeye was tender and juicy, and the heirloom carrots were the best we’ve ever had!! We didn’t have room for dessert, but the options sounded great. A must try if you are in town!

We go every few months so will try and summarize what I have had there so far. Recently took a 10 year old with us as well who enjoyed everything. So far I have had the: Duck Confit Loaded Fries - Very good, everyone loved them (including a 10 year old) Hummus and Feta - Pretty good, interesting flavors overall. The pita was great. Sous Vide Octopus - It's great Wagyu Beef Carpaccio - Amazing. Probably my favorite small plate Red Snapper Ceviche - It was good but I am not a huge fish fan Elk Burger - Delicious burger, everyone loves them, what I have had the most Wild Boar Bolognese - Great flavors, wild boar is wonderful Braised Shank - (Current menu says Boar but I think I had Lamb but can't remember) The swiss chard was amazing. The shank itself was really good as well. Bison Ribeye - Was really good, a bit pricey but worth it for the experience. Pan Roasted Duck Breast - Probably my overall favorite here. Creme Brulee Cheesecake is really good too.

Its been about 1 year since my last visit. Apparently alot has changed. Tonight was Father and Daughter date night. We arrive @ 5pm and were told there was a 45 min - 1 hour wait and told that we could not come inside and have a drink at the bar as the was no seats for that either AND because the owners will not allow patrons to wait inside and that we either had to go to our car or wait outside (in the cold). What in the world??Maybe father is handicapped and this was SO dang inconvenient and inconsiderate. Please try to make better accommodations or move to a larger location!!! A locally owned and operated establishment; THIS is why we come...to support you. This experience makes it hard to come again.

First off service was on point, probably best we have ever seen small place so be ready to wait but it's worth it.we had quail quesadilla which was excellent full of meat , bison ribeye was good not as tender as expected (med rare )for price think I still prefer a good beef ribeye better the potatoes carrots and sauce were very good,rack of elk(med rare) cooked perfectly was tender the potatoes with this dish had a vinegar taste which we did not care for, last the creme brulee cheese cake is off the chain probably best we have ever had. We really enjoyed the different flavors of the bison and elk. Would have got 5 stars, just lost one for tenderness and potatoes on elk dish. Still, this place is awesome. we will return at some point. Just be aware that the place is very expensive but the quality is good.

We have been here many times and enjoyed the meals and service. However tonight the fish was bad and I notified the waiter who spoke with the owner. Nothing done or said to us about the condition. We eat swordfish often and this was the worst (strong fishy smell and taste, made me gag). The waiter picked up the fish (almost none of it had been eaten) and didn’t say anything. I asked why nothing was done or even said about my wife’s complaint about the fish and the waiter again spoke with the owner. The owner came over and appeared to attack my wife by saying she should have sent it back (and literally in her face). I have never witnessed or experienced such service. Especially as often as we have visited previously the owner was unbelievably in my wife’s face about the issue. I told them I wanted to pay the bill and leave. I have never witnessed such behavior in a restaurant before. Be very cautious eating here, the service and leadership provided by this owner is such that they won’t be in business long. We will never be back. Unbelievable.

What a flavorful experience! We waited about an hour for a table but we were served drinks while waiting. Tiffany, the owner & host was super friendly. The menu was very creative with game creations as well as other culinary delights. We enjoyed steak tartare,ceviche,beet salad, and fois gras. Let me just say having food with such amazing flavors is such a treat in a society where so much food is bland, overcooked and basically gross. Highly overrated. Extremely greasy food. Brussel sprouts would be good with half (or less) the amount of grease. Service was ok. We also had to wait 40 mins for a table. And they don’t serve cocktails, most restaurants around there do. I do appreciate that this place is more adult focused than kid/family focused, but the food is not for me and I can’t just come for drinks either. That’s too bad.

Was impressed with the service, the atmosphere, the menu. We ordered a slew of items and my favorite was the filet with carrots and potatoes and the blue cheese wedge salad. The filet was a delicious steak and cooked perfectly. It was better than the wagyu ribeye. My least favorite item was the scallops, not sure why. H&G is cool because you get that small restaurant chef vibe without having to go to a bigger city. With that said I wasn’t as impressed as I hoped to be (I’ve been watching too many chef tv shows), and the prices were on the high side for our area- perhaps affordable for a chef in a larger city. Either way, probably the fanciest in PCB. I just knocked one star for food because I had perfect hopes in mind.

Love this place. No crying babies, no birthday song every 15 minutes, no kids running up and down the aisle! Everyone is dressed nice, the staff is friendly and has good knowledge of the menu and the food is excellent. We sat at the bar and had a blast. Bar tenders are funny and had a great attitude. Will be back.

This restaurant is a quintessential hidden gem. It’s off the beaten path and lacks the picturesque views typical of many waterfront restaurants in the area. However, it more than compensates with its exceptional ambiance and culinary offerings. The food is absolutely amazing. I was raised in Panama City, Florida, and have since had the opportunity to try cuisines all over the world. This is, by far, the best food I’ve ever had on the Gulf Coast and ranks among the best dishes I've experienced. My friends and I took some time away from visiting family post-Christmas to check this place out. We were highly impressed. The Kim Chi Oysters are incredible, with the pairing of South Korean flavors and Gulf Oysters being both clever and well-executed. We also tried the Charcuterie & Cheese Board, Duck Tacos, Brussel Sprouts, and Escargot. Each dish scored a perfect 10/10 in our book.

Best food I’ve had in pcb in awhile. Jameson was an awesome server and bartender. Elk burger and rack were INCREDIBLE. Biscoff cookie mousse on a brownie for dessert. Stop playin. The place is low key, quick, and much better on price and quality than anything that capt Andersons or grand marlin could give you. Period.

Just got back from my birthday dinner...pricey...yes...worth every penny...yes... Our hostesses was wonderful. Our server, Paul, was awesome. We probably ordered half the small plates, and everyone was excellent. Shouldn't have ordered entrées, as we couldn't finish them, but they were excellent as well. Can not recommend enough. Can't even say what I liked best. Try them, you will not be disappointed.

Hunt & Gather came highly recommended to my family by locals. I will highly recommend now, after a great meal. We all shared so we could see what we liked best...my husband chose the Bison ribeye, it was very tender and had a great flavor(needed no steak sauce for sure). My daughter had the filet mignon, it was fantastic!!! I had the rack of Elk....again a very good choice, that's what I'll get me next time we visit. Brussel sprouts appetizer and oysters with pimento cheese were very tasty too!!!! Very nice wait staff and service in a timely manner were a ➕️!!! We will be back!!!!

Found this place while visiting the area and wanted to try some of the cool dishes. The wild boar bolognese was AMAZING! We all agreed that it was the best dish. We also had the rack of elk and the duck fries. Both of those were excellent as well. The Biscoff mousse was amazing!

Got here about 1/2 hour after they opened. The tables were already full. The hostess said we could wait for 45 mins for a table or sit at the bar. To the bar! David was our bartender/server. He was knowledgeable of the menu, and gave recommendations. For the entrees, we already knew what we wanted, but we were deciding between the appetizers/small plates. David recommended the Bone Marrow Canoe. The only bone marrow I've actually had before was from the bone of a chicken (from chewing). We ended up getting the Bone Marrow Canoe, and David recommended taking out all the marrow and mixing it together. Really enjoyed it. The horseradish has a nice little kick. For the entrees we got the Rack of Elk and the Bison Ribeye. Both were really good. The Rack of Elk was really tender (ordered medium), and not gamey at all. Reminded me a bit of filet mignon. The Bison Ribeye was good as well (ordered medium rare). The Bison reminded me of a New York Strip. Between the Elk and the Bison, I would definitely choose the Elk as the better of the two. Personal choice. I would definitely get the Bone Marrow Canoe again. Will have to come back to try more items on the menu. Nice atmosphere and very good service.
