This restaurant is a an absolute gem! We loved it including my omnivore son. Everything was absolutely delicious and I wish we lived closer and could be regulars. If you are vegan or vegan curious please do not miss this wonderful restaurant.

Excellent Vegan restaurant - must try Oyster Mushrooms, recommend lemon pepper seasoning! Crabless cakes + coconut chickpea curry were all tasty Try a real taste of Cajun cookin' Vegan style! Recommend parking across the street, under the bridge for free parking. Street parking is also available, but limited. Photo in parking area (under the bridge) facing the front of restaurant (green building with bright yellow doorway). Be careful crossing street, very busy and traffic moves swiftly

Best vegan restaurant I've ever visited. A hidden gem in New Orleans for vegetarians/vegans! I'm so happy I found this place - the food was truly fantastic. Okrah 10/10. Ambience was refreshing and relaxing too.

The food was fantastic! We were looking for vegetarian/vegan (okra) gumbo and it was not easy to find in New Orleans! I've not eaten full vegan before so it was an adventure... and one I'm very happy I took. The gumbo was great and the cornbread was incredible! Mac and cheese was better than any I've had. This place is GREAT!

We Came here on our trip to New Orleans based on a recommendation. Best food of our trip! My husband ( meat eater) and me ( vegan) got the pick your own plates. One plate had: cauliflower wings, candied sweet potatoes, corn bread and green beans The other had: bbq jackfruit ribs, “crab” cake, grilled veggies, Mac and cheese and quinoa jambalaya ( my husband) He ate every single bite and also some of mine. This is a meat eater who said it was his favorite meal in New Orleans so far! Excellent! Great staff! All around wonderful!

Food was pretty good but was over an hour and a half late. I think someone had taken my to go order and they didn't realize. Gave me a free cookie though

Music, food, energy, service and atmosphere was phenomenal! Love the location and festive colors on the building. They young lady at the counter was provided outstanding service and even checked on us during our visit. The cooks did their thing, this is definitely healthy nourishment for the soul. I enjoyed every bite, even ordered an additional plate to take with me. This was my favorite spot while visiting New Orleans! Will be back #italisvital

In short: workers are kind and quick, shrimp sandwich is great (fresh hand cut fries with a nice salad!) and I would definitely get it again!! So excited to come back❤️ I’ve passed by this restaurant for a while now and when I found out it was a fully vegan joint I was beyond excited! Not something you see too often in Nola. I had the shrimp sandwich meal and it was wonderful. The salad was nice but had a couple pieces of wilted spinach, and I wasn’t a fan of the dressing as much. For that reason I don’t think I would get the meal again but surely enjoyed the rest of the plate. The seasoning was great and the toppings were just right on the sandwich. I felt like you couldn’t even tell the mushrooms were mushrooms, which for some could be a good thing, but I personally do love a mushroom flavor. Thank you for providing relatively cheap and tasty vegan food and I hope you guys continue to flourish🌱❤️

Everything was so good!! I’m so happy that actually got to experience Cajun cooking as a vegetarian. It’s been so hard to find options around here and now I want to go here every night for the rest of my trip. The tops for me were the jackfruit ribs, cauliflower wings, and cornbread. The jambalaya and Mac and cheese was very flavorful, solid choices. The crab cake wasn’t for me but my (non vegetarian) sister liked it. Would recommend to everyone, vegan or not. We shared the build your own plate and an extra protein and it was plenty of food for the both of us to try everything and get full without leftovers to carry around.

Ordered the Ra Pasta and Jackfruit ribs and the food was absolutely amazing! My only issue was that the food took over an hour to be served. We arrived right before 5:30 and the restaurant was filled with people waiting on food, it took about 15 minutes to order, and the food didn’t come out until 7, a whole hour after they closed. I would go again when visiting New Orleans, but only if I didn’t have immediate plans after, as the wait made us late for our concert.

This was some of the Best vegan food I've ever had! I had the Mac plate and I was thinking about that food for days afterward! My sister had the RA pasta with fried lion's mane mushrooms and it was so delicious!

It looks really nice inside; I wasn't expecting it to be so spacious. The cashiers were really nice. Presentation looked amazing. Unfortunately, one of my orders was wrong, not a problem, they fixed, but I had to wait so long just get a salad and avocado fries (waitress did warn me, but damn that was a wait). I enjoyed the RA pasta, mushrooms over fried. Mushroom bites were fried wayyyy too hard, felt like I was going to crack a tooth and it was more batter than mushroom. Wasnt given any sauce for it either, so for me it was also a bit dry. I would have loved to actually have been able to enjoy the mushrooms. I will let you know getting your food will be a wait, but the chefs are back there working. The hibiscus lemonade was really good. The ribs were okay. I ended up giving away the order that wasn't mine and also the salad bc I don't eat those taco crumbles that I requested not to be on there but ended up on the salad anyway. I didn't want to correct my order for a 2nd time so I just took it. Suggestion: mushrooms don't need much time in the fryer and maybe a less grainy batter would be better too.

Mom & Pop shop with great desserts & drinks!!!! Local art on the walls...very nice! Will definitely come back.

The food here is amazing but the wait makes you wonder if it’s worth it. Waiting at the restaurant if you’re dining in would be one thing. But the two times I’ve ordered online for pick up at a specific time they weren’t ready. It took 40 minutes the first time and in 4 minutes I’ll be at an hour past the pick up time. For almost $80 you’d hope this wouldn’t happen. At first I was really bummed I discovered them shortly before moving out of state but now I’m glad I won’t be tempted to continue ordering and experience this for a 3rd time. The food is still really amazing and I’d tell everyone to go, just expect to wait and dine in. Hopefully the wait isn’t as long if you do that. Or don’t place your order online for pick up because they apparently don’t have good records for that.

I’ve had vegan ribs before. I’ve even made vegan ribs. But I kept checking to see if they gave me an order of non vegan ribs. That’s how delicious they were. I also had an I-tal salad. The salad was very fresh. It was also a very large salad. I only wish that I had more time in Nola to return to this place. A real gem!

I really love this place, but there was a difference in the quality of my food today. I came in Thursday and ordered my favorites avocado fries and cajun oyster bites and it was delicious! This time, my oyster fries were huge as well as my avocado fries! I included pictures, but the pictures doesn't do it justice (first pictures included)! Normally my Cajun oyster bites are really small looking and the pieces are a bit overcooked, but I'm a new customer so I just thought it was normal. However, my order Thursday was amazing and the pieces were really big and everything was cooked to perfection! Today, Saturday, I ordered the Filet Mushroom Burger Meal and the Hell Yea Kale Yea Salad for a friend and I ordered my two favorites again, the avocado fries and Cajun oyster bites. I specifically requested barbecue sauce for the oysters (I didn't have any at home and the sauce that normally comes with the avocado fries. I didn't check my order so I guess that's on me...is (see pictures. This time, my avocado fries were short and skinny (see picture and the order didn't look full. I did eat my food, however, I did call and spoke to the lady that took my order indicating my frustrations. I repeated my order back many times to no avail. I love that place, but I may take a small break for a minute. Don't get me wrong, your food is amazing, however the price isn't cheap and the inconsistencies keep occurring. With that being said, I just expect my food to look and be prepared a certain way.

I was presently surprised. The service was great, the food was fresh and delicious, and was brought out within a few minutes. Their prices are good also. I had the Cajun Pasta and Lemon-Ginger tea. I'm definitely going back.

This place exceeded my expectations. It's the 2nd vegan spot I've tried in N.O. and the service+ ambiance makes it a winner in my book. The atmosphere is cool vibes only, the service brings the Louisiana charm, and the food is made in the spirit of healthy love with a kick. It tasted as good as its aroma let on, hence the lack of a photo. Try it!

The last time I visited New Orleans was over a decade ago, and it was a struggle to find vegetarian food. I ended up eating a lot of Mexican fast food! This time around, I was super excited to eat some vegan soul food, and I was not disappointed! I had the I-Tal plate, and my companions each took the "Build Your Own" option. Our favourite items were the Crabless Crab Cakes, Kickin Strips, Cajun Oyster Bites, and Quinoa Jambalaya. (Note that even if you're dining in, the food is served in to-go containers. It would be nice to have proper place settings in the future!)

This place is great! Probably my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. The food is delicious, especially the cauliwings, and thr service was awesome. Highly recommend!

First visit. Sweet potatoes and roasted potatoes were delicious. Veggies were not seasoned. Ginger tea was okay.

It took 90 MINUTES to order and be served food. I don't care how good the food is, that is WAY too long. Food was not worth the wait.

Absolutely loved this place! As someone who does not eat meat or seafood and doesn't like cheese can be very difficult to find vegan or vegetarian options on a typical menu in restaurants down here in the south. Sometimes there are 1-2 options if lucky. I-tal had a large variety of things to choose from and it was absolutely delicious. Really nice people working there and an absolute recommend from me.

everything is delicious every time! i love the variety. unfortunately all dine-in dishes and utensils are single use plastic, which feels wasteful, but overall this place is definitely more ethical than most restaurants in the area.

Delicious Jamaican vegetarian food. Wonderful hibiscus tea. Some of the food is heavy and rich - but a nice treat. Maybe a few more lower calories options.

Just ate there with my girlfriend. Wished we had known about it sooner. Excellent food, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is nice. We’ll definitely be back.. a lot!

The food was extremely tasty. We had the Cajun pasta, jackfruit wings and quinoa jambalaya. Highly recommend the pasta! The person taking was extremely cheerful and the place had a good vibe.

Wow, wow, wow. This place is fantastic. I got the Avacado fries and one of their coconut pasta dishes, plus the hibiscus ice tea. Everything was phenomenal. The fried food was perfectly crisp, and the pasta was creamy and flavorful.

Good service, friendly staff. They take their time but the food is good so it's ok.

Went here on a recent trip. My group had the Mac plate, pasta plate, vegan crab cakes, vegan gumbo, a salad, and the avocado fries. All were pretty good, but the Mac plate and vegan crab cakes were the standouts. Gumbo flavor came out more as I ate it.

The food was cooked to perfection! I ordered the RA Pasta - the sauce was creamy and delicious and the mushrooms were some of the best I’ve had in my 7 years of being vegan! 100 % recommend this place and can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in New Orleans. Love that they have the gluten free options clearly labeled on the menu.

The best jackfruit ribs and black eyed peas

Thank you guys so much for this vegan food paradise. We really enjoyed the all vegan menu, the many healthy and very delicious options. I had my very first jackfruit BBQ dish. I love it. And the light tacos (see picture). We also tasted all the cakes. Recommendation not only for vegetarian/vegan people but everybody who wants to get a healthy alternative. Please keep up the good work.

Fantastic! As a vegan it was sad to miss out on creole food until I came across this place. The only negative thing was that all the cutlery/plates/cups etc were disposable. But unfortunately this appears to be the norm in the states

One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been to.

I had the $20 single protein with 3 sides. I had the crabless cakes, macaroni, brussel sprouts and potatos. Everything tasted really seasoned and sear just right. I also had a lemon ginger tea 🥤 I like the sweetness of the tea with the gentle ginger 🫚. I like the music they play.

This restaurant is absolutely superb! The best vegan food around and great customer service. I will be returning the next time I visit New Orleans. It’s the only place where you can get great food, wonderful customer service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

My husband and I came try this place recently and it was soo good. We shared the Racho Supreme for our appetizer and it was 10/10 amazing !! He ordered a rodeo burger with fries and salad as his meal and loved it and I got a Mac plate with macaroni, corn bread, BBQ cauliflower wings and smothered greens and it was all good. The ginger lemonade was also good. Definitely plan on making future trips to try more.

really lovely food but it was only in takeout containers and the filet o’ mushroom meal was cold as soon as it came to our table. we came in on a Saturday evening at around 6:30 pm and there were some tables but lots of takeout and delivery orders they were working on. so it took some time to get our food, just about 35 minutes which would have been so so fine if we got food as it was ready. but to receive our appetizer, 2 sides and entree all at once with most of it cold was a little disappointing given how flavorful the food was. since everything comes in takeaway containers anyway, we’ll just order in because then we’ll at least have access to an oven and microwave to just reheat our food. excited to order many more meals!

Nice food but slow service. The place was very quiet and we still waited 30min. Our lunch order was delayed due to it being mistaken for takeout for someone else. Arrives in takeout containers. Not as flavourful as I'd hoped. A bit pricey for what we got.

The hubby and I are in town for a funeral and of course they didn’t have any food that we could eat. Found this spot on Google and it looked great. Walked into smooth soul music and friendly faces. But the food….AMAZING!! We both ordered differently so we could taste as much as possible, except for the Mac n cheese-don’t share, get your own 😂. Everything was exceptional. We are in town 2 more days and we will be back to try the breakfast menu. Worth every penny. Sincerely your vegan sister and brother from Raleigh, NC.

Delicious food, amazing comfortable atmosphere that feels so welcoming, and super friendly staff! Can’t ask for anything better from a restaurant. Only tip for improvement would be some more signage to indicate that it’s self seating and counter service

So delicious! The carnivorous hubby liked the burger, the fries were good, salad was tasty. The jackfruit ribs and coconut curry chickpeas were great. The quinoa jambalaya was my favorite! Spicy and hearty. Muah! Also super friendly and great vibe.

Great authentic New Orleans food, vegan, made quickly

The food was delicious, especially the jackfruit ribs. The texture and taste were on point. I had to take them out separately to inspect how they were able to accomplish it (notice how they are in a photo by itself and on a plate). The food was light and airy, compared to eating vegan food that is deep-fried to accommodate the non-vegans. The staff were friendly. I highly recommend it.

Oyster mushrooms were my fave! Kitchen was backed up so service a little slow but well worth the wait 🫶

Oh I wish there were more places like this! The food is delicious and clearly a passion for the chefs. All fresh ingredients and a super attention to detail on flavours and textures. I can’t recommend this highly enough. If we were here longer we’d come again, certainly next time.

This place is amazing. Food is great and fresh. Recipes are from scratch. I do want them to have more raw or unsauced veggie options. Also, salt wasn't bad, but I'd like to see them leave it out.

Thank God for photo memories that pop up because they deserve this credit. Everything you see pictured EYE ate THERE. Don't ask where this little body of mine stored it but we, ME, MYSELF and EYE, held it 👇🏿 down😎😇😁. EYE didn't take a pic of it all but these were the dishes that STOOD out to ME. EYE had a breakfast sandwich, croissant 🥐 with their play on bacon 🥓, egg 🍳 and cheese 🧀. This may have been a special! EYE had the Cajun pasta with salad and the pancake platter. EYE did leave the store with dessert, the Lemon Lavender 🍰,but it got devoured within the hour😋. NO EXAGGERATING HERE! I AM not getting paid for any of my reviews but we know it takes one match stick🧨 to start a fire 🔥 or to KEEP it going. So this is MY truthful contribution💜to KEEP it going. I AM going to one day fly back just to visit and support them ALL over again with a few other places in mind.

Every bite is a friggin explosion of flavor. The service was great and the ambiance is very chill. I got the Cajun Pasta and it fantastic. It doesn’t LOOK like much but holy ****, it is the best.

Came back a year later and everything was great. I wanted to edit my review. This place is in the conversation for best vegan food in the city. It was a nice atmosphere and the food was amazing. Friendly staff as well. We got the grilled sweet potatoes, rosemary potatoes, Mac n cheese (best vegan Mac in the city) and crispy cauliwings. Their cauliwings are so good!! Fried to perfection.

Food is excellent. All vegan. Highly recommend the gumbo. Similar rou/base as seafood, but 100% vegan. Vegan crabcakes were excellent also.

Food is just ok. Extremely SLOW service, we were there for an hour before we got our food and one patron was told his order ticket got lost AND there were only a few tables of patrons there.

A gem in Treme! I-tal Garden is much needed in the New Orleans community! Walkable vegan and vegetarian alternatives are hard to find close to the French Quarters and I'm so glad I finally took the stroll to give this place a try. The surrounding area (from the French Quarters direction) seems safe during the day with friendly locals. The one thing I love about the city are the locals. No matter what they look like, they typically are very nice and will speak to you in passing, at least to me they do. The second thing I love is the culture, on the way, I was honored to experience my first Second Line Wedding Parade, near Louis Armstrong Park, I knew it was a sign I was headed in the right direction. The I-tal Garden establishment is nice and big with a modern jazzy but rustic and serene theme. The staff was awesome, they warmly welcomed me in and patiently assisted me with my "let's try it all" order approach. On the lunch/dinner menu, I tried a lot with the build your own plate and found everything delicious. My favorites: jackfruit ribs, Creole potato salad, coconut curry blackeyed peas, Skrimps, cauilwingsd, quinoa jambalaya, and Creole greens. The portion sizes are good, the food is fresh, it's very customizable with the seasonings/sauce options, and the prices are fair. I ate off these takeaway plates for days and finally feel accepted and inducted into the creole/Cajun food culture thanks to I-tal Garden! I look forward trying their sandwiches/burgers and breakfast! Thank you!

Vegan spot where even a carnivore like me can enjoy a delicious meal. Grilled sweet potatoes were exceptional as was the salad dressing. Needed less quinoa in the black eye peas. Reasonable prices. True portion sizes. Small quaint setting.

Very good vegan shrimp sandwich and nachos with cashew cheese, last but not least very flavorful refreshing ice tea. I would recommend this place even for people who eat meat.
