This is such a hidden gem. The campground is quaint and beautiful. There's lots of activities and everything is very clean and well kept. Highly recommend.

I took my wife and daughter on a little 1 day excursion before school started. We enjoyed the pool and rec room and a little fishing. The cabin we got was great and VERY clean. We left planning our next trip back. Definitely a great place on the lake to relax, fish or go on an adventure with the air boats.

Great RV camping. Brick paved spots full hookups,free firewood,free ice,free laundry free towels to use at pool, showers. Very friendly staff. Matt was outstanding at making us have the best experience ! Food truck on site and airboat tours at dock. North Central Florida location above Disney area.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place. Was peaceful and somewhat serene. I ended up staying a few days there, and had a beautiful storm / lightning show while I was there. There is a pool and it's a decent size there's also a pool table and some games in a separate building, also an area for fishing and boats. There's even a tackle shop, and an alligator pit if I remember correctly.

Had such a wonderful stay, kind of got caught in tropical storm Debby but that was fine, just on and off sometimes heavy rain. Had some trouble with the TV but Emily did not hesitate to get out in the rain and fix it. Everyone was helpful and so nice. The room was great. King bed and a sofa bed for our grandson. Pool was great and clean. Power went out a few times because of Debby, but was quick to turn back on. On Sunday we had reservations to go on the swamp fever airboat adventures but because of the TS they had to cancel and got rescheduled. That place is also right there at the lodge. I could go on and on about our stay but will close to say it was AWESOME. thank you idlewild for a great relaxing stay.

Went here with our 2 kids (both under 6), for a quick weekend Glamping trip. It's located in the middle of nowhere, which is what makes it appealing and nice to get away from the cities. On a large natural lake with many creeks and rivers connecting to it. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was 1 bedroom with a little kitchenette(micro sink and fridge), sofa and a bathroom. It did the trick for us. It was clean, looked updated style wise. It's a cabin and for the price I thought it was really nice, don't expect the Ritz but don't be scared thinking it's a broken down shanty... it's really quite nice . Lots of room on property to throw a ball, they have a pool, outbuilding with music, football, darts, picnic tables, board games, corn hole, and our kids favorite a pile of sand to play in with a sunshade over it near the pool. A fire ring and a grill for charcoal at every cabin. We rented the pontoon to drive around the lake and go fishing, it was a real fair price, easy to drive, and everyone has a great time out on a boat(beautiful views and nature watching). For fisherman lots of hydrangea in the water, so top water or live bait on a bobber best there is a highly visited airboat business located on property also, we didnt go while there( looked fun, but we have been many times in the past elsewhere). Be sure to grab food, drinks on your way in. There is a convenience store 25 minute round trip away, amd a publix about hour drive round trip away. I'd say 1 night or 2 nights ideal le gth of stay here . Highly recommend, also the staff was very friendly and .helpful also

This was our second time back and this time we brought my best friend and her kids. We were able to get cabins right next to each other which made having meals together convenient. The kids had never been 'camping' before so they had a ball. We booked the airboat ride before we arrived for the morning of the next day which was great because times book up fast. The bait shop on camp is just for looks, but there's a bait shop not too far from the campground. This time they didn't have anyone to work their food truck. My fiancé is a chef that's off for two months during slow season and renovations at his golf resort so it almost made for a Hallmark movie but he didn't decide to do it 😔. We're a Black couple but every time we've stayed at Idlewild, we have felt super welcomed by the staff (and other campers the first time we visited). This last time though I was making s'mores with my Godson and an old man must've had some flashbacks from his younger days and made a racist comment to another gentleman and his two grandsons. They didn't seem to co-sign his comment so he kept saying it as though he was waiting for them to either agree or laugh or something. I was too busy trying to make the s'mores for my Godson and his siblings and trying to get away from the mosquitoes. So I wasn't listening but he kept repeating his monkey comment to silence. Thanks to that other man and those teens for not encouraging ignorance. I'm a millennial and some of my best friends' parents growing up were/are racist so I don't scare easy😝 and their kids ended up on meth soooo 👀. But I share this for other people of color to know the campground is wonderful but you MAY have some negative run-ins with other campers, unfortunately.

We had such a wonderful time at idlewild. You can tell that the owners and staff have put so much thought into every detail of the camp. We fished, swam, and played pool without leaving the site. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained and at night, it was so peaceful. We would love to stay in one of your cabins again.

We love staying at the Idlewild Lodge cabins. Perfect for our fishing vacation. Very clean, friendly service and lots of amenities.

I wish we could’ve stayed longer!! This place is wonderful!! Emily was super helpful and sweet! Will definitely be back when we can stay longer & hopefully get to do the airboat ride next time. (they were already booked up for the day)

Everything was accommodating & convenient! Definitely nailed all the aspects of a campground,speaking from experience of camping for 40 years all over Florida, one of the best around.

Cute little place. Nice pool for the kids and myself. There is no boat ramp but there are boats to rent to go on the lake. The lake is right out front. Now, if you have a boat, there is a boat ramp right up the road that you can put in and drive around to the lodge if needed.

Absolutely loved my stay in a cabin. Everything in-and-out of the cabin was perfect. The grounds are impeccable, and the staff goes over and above with friendliness and caring. Emily and Mike, a huge thank you for everything... including the rubbing alcohol for my "attack of the FL wilderness" - haha. I definitely will return.

We didn’t stay this time. We were there for an Airboat adventure which was for or grandson. The boat looked brand new and was remarkably well kept for one used for the public. The ride was well worth the cost and the captain showed and told of his life growing up on the lake…funny guy but not overly so. We are making plans to return and have a stay at the lodge. Every person we encountered on the property were wonderful in a casual, polite way which matched the impeccable grounds. So looking forward to giving our grandson a “camping” experience in a not so roughing it sort of way…you know, with beds, air conditioning and shower, but with activities and fishing.

This place is awesome, a hidden gem. Each site hand laid papers, level, wide and deep. So quite and peaceful. Only holds 11 rvs and a some cabins, but so worth it. Fishing off the pier for Bass. It has everything you need and much more. I'll be back to spend a few days relaxing.

We decided to take a weekend trip and visit some friends using the campground. We stayed in cabin one and it was probably one of the best trips we’ve ever had. Staff is really friendly and they have pontoon boat rentals on site.

For some reason, I cannot post as “myself”, Kristen Numedahl, BUT we stayed at this Lodge and RV park for 3 weeks. The entire experience exceeded our expectations. It is a hidden gem on a 4,000 acre lake that I hope not TOO many people hear about. Staff (Emily and Mike in particular) we attentive to EVERY need. Free laundry and ice a bonus! Huge gaming garage with LARGE Tv for rainy days, dock for fishing or relaxing, multiple fire pits, pontoons for rent, happy hr feom 5-6 daily, CLEAN swimming pool all a bonus. The only thing I would say is that I was hoping to utilize the pool and it was not heated …. Very cold actually. There are MANY bike paths within 30-45 minutes. Fishing on lake is excellent. There several local restaurants with great food within 20 minutes. Overall, It was a magnificent experience that I highly recommend!

The two reason we booked here were to be able to go swimming and take a boat out for a few hours none of which happened the pool got closed down our second day here because of safety reasons and the boat we had scheduled in to be rented out on Monday (today) was given to someone else Disappointing.. cabin were nice though but trip was pointless didn’t get to do anything we came here for-Chase

This is Old Florida a slice of the past a welcome change from the theme parks and long lines. If your looking forward to family time a place to relax and decompress.. This is the spot a little fishing, a swim in pool, a family game room card, dice, puzzles, chess, or movies of the big TV.. We had a family weekend. It was time well spent in family environment with great staff... We will he back and highly recommend this place with all the rustic charm well worth every penny we spent.

Really cute cabins and laid back environment. The pool and grounds were well maintained. The food truck and sunset cruise wasn't available during our 4 night stay, which was disappointing, but overall a great trip with our family. Cabins were pretty clean and the community campfires were never over crowded.

My family and I stayed last weekend in our pull behind camper. We were greeted by the owner, and he showed us to our site. He even helped to back us into the site. The rv spot was large, flat and paved with pavers. The grounds are kept super clean. The kids enjoyed the giant sand pit area. There was a very clean pool with places to sit around and relax! I really liked the shed with a pool table, foosball table, games and many more activities and FREE beer! This is a hidden gem! Can't wait to stay here again!

Being a newbie in the RV would we found this little gem while looking fir somewhere close to home to do our maiden trip. It's a little off the beaten path but it's well worth it if your looking for an extremely small campground. We stayed in one of their premium RV sites. Lots of space, level paver covered site. They also have some cabins for rent, a pool and loads of seating inside and outside of their recreation hall. The grounds are well manicured with many colorful flowers and herb gardens. Matt, Emily and Ashlynn were very welcoming and helpful.

Such a lovely setting. We stayed in one of the cabins. The cabin was spotless, tiled floors, kitchen with microwave, refrig and coffee maker. TV in sitting area and in bedroom area. Beautiful lake and firepit. We will definitely be back. Staff was extremely helpful.

I prefer campsites with privacy between sites but the site was perfectly level and clean. The amenities are great- the pool table and foosball and corn hole with happy hour daily is a bonus. The airboats are a bit noisy but not too disruptive. Lovely grounds and clean facilities. Friendly staff.

My family spent New Years Eve weekend at Idlewild Lodge. We stayed in one of the cabins. The staff did a great job renovating and modernizing the cabins. Very comfortable to live in for a few days. The Lodge is on a beautiful piece of property. All of the staff were very friendly and spent time with their guests. The BBQ was amazing. We really enjoyed our time and will be visiting again in the near future.

We had a wonderful experience at Idlewild - the facilities were very clean and staff was extremely attentive. This is definitely a 'pup friendly' lodge, so bring your 4 legged friend! They were smoking brisket all day and serving it out of the food truck, along with the yummy truffle fries. There is no risk staying here - excellent service, great views, and just a very relaxing time.

We stayed in an RV Site. The site was level spacious, and great location. This is a nice quiet area to just relax. We will be back for a longer stay.

I don't think I've given a review with ALL 5 stars! But now I am. For Thanksgiving, we booked 6 cabins and thoroughly enjoyed a unique Thanksgiving with family and friends. Everything was just perfect! Emily, Matt, Ashlynn, and others went out of their way to make this a special time. We played games (Corn hole, Giant Pong, billiards, and Janga. Emily prepared and brought out pasta salad, wraps, etc. for us to munch on before our big dinner. Matt was sure to keep the fire pits going, delivering and stacking wood each day. The cabins are clean, modern (flat screen TVs, coffee maker, microwave, stove top, and everything you need in the kitchen. The king-size beds were quite comfy. Everyone in our group said they are sure they will be returning. This place is a gem if you are looking to go Glamping!!!

Very much improved from previous owners. Everything is in tip top shape. Having covered boat slips would definitely be an improvement, since I am an avid fisherman.

Absolutely wonderful old Florida RV and Campground. Wonderful cabins, plenty of RV spaces, in a well-maintained classic Florida environment. Tons of recreational options including multiple fire pits for groups, cornhole games, other yard games, huge sandpit for the kids and pool.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars, from the minute you arrive you’re greeted by the nicest staff , to the time you leave they make sure you had an a great stay. The cabins were all updated and the site was well taken care of. Staff makes sure this place stays beautiful and up to date. Definitely will be back.

I had the pleasure of visiting this amazing location yesterday to perform a wedding, as Donna's Mobile Notary Services. As I was leaving I met the management staff and they were friendly and interested in my business. If you've not visited them do so. Their cabins are fresh and clean. The grounds had been chalk decorated for Halloween and were quite imaginative. The game area was in use when I arrived. There is an open and welcoming activities building for their guests. Sitting right on Lake Panasoffkee, it created the perfect backdrop for their guests.

Staff is amazing and the sites are clean with plenty to do with the family. Will be back soon.

Fantastic weekend at Idlewild Lodge. The cabins are modern and impeccably clean. We rented the pontoon and had a fabulous afternoon. In the evenings, we played pool and had giant jenga competitions in the activity barn. The evening fires with relaxing chairs are wonderful. We didn’t use the swimming pool but it looked very nice. The RV park has excellent spaces ; we will come back with our RV. The staff is amazing! Idlewild is a very quiet, relaxing retreat; our new go to for weekend getaways with family and friends.

This park is so clean and quaint! The renovations made are top notch, and They have thought of everything. From paver RV pads, to the grills, to the rec hall, and they even have a food truck! You won't regret staying here.

Beautiful spot. Everything is new and very well done. We enjoyed the happy hour by the fire pit. So peaceful there. Only very small thing to consider - upgrade the shower in the restrooms.

Booked an Rv site for the Labor Day weekend. The property is well kept and beautiful. Lots of green space. Many amenities for a variety of interests. Loved it so much we booked for Christmas weekend !

Let me tell you want a nice retreat for a weekend this is the place cabins are clean and freshly remodeled and the staff was amazing took my wife for a lil R&R weekend get away it was amazing and to top it off the swamp air boat rides are on site so last day there I booked a tour through them which was amazing !!!! Highly recommend

There is no place I'd rather spend my time away from home at .. this place makes you feel so welcome, their service is impeccable, the manager Emily is very much hands on and a real gem to work with. Even when I don't need a vacation, I take one because of how welcomed I feel, how clean the cabins are and how impeccable the customer service is. I give them a million stars!

What can I say? it was the best fish camp ever ! they have cabins and RV sites ,swimming pool, a lake you can have your boats on, or take a airboat ride, game room free beer at a certain time, fire pit every night. it's like the perfect vacation for anybody. scenery is gorgeous, so quiet there too. employees are the best, they're so kind!

Idilic cabin style retreat on the lake. For those looking for a quiet, relaxing time, with beautiful views and top quality accommodation. The staff and owners were super friendly, the place super clean. They have taken a lot of care over little details that make the difference, such as: complimentary bottle water in the fridge, shampoo & conditioner in the bathroom, making parking spaces to the side of the cabins so the view isn’t obstructed. We loved the butterfly garden under the huge oak tree, the raised garden beds, with a sign inviting us to help ourselves to cuttings. And we loved the complimentary “happy-hour” beer fridge in the games barn! We will definitely be back again.
