I called and made a reservation for 7:30 and was running late. The owner stayed and waited for us even though he was by himself. The food was sooooo good and the next time I am in town I will definitely be back. I recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood.

Amazing seafood ! The best seafood I’ve had in the world. Fresh, authentic taste and the secrete sauce was savory & succulent. We purchased multiple jars of his homemade sauce to bring home and he wrapped it nicely enough to bring back home in checking luggage. We’re so happy to have found an amazing seafood restaurant that’s family owned and authentically cooked. We’ll come back in April for my Mother’s birthday. Thank you to the owner for running the show and providing my family with superb service unmatched.

Food is absolutely phenomenal! My family and I have been going to J Crab House every spring for the last 6 years. Every time we visit Florida we make it a point to eat here. The food is cooked to perfection and the sauce is the best I’ve ever had on seafood. This son and mom-run business provide a cozy atmosphere and exceptional seafood; truly the best I’ve ever had (and I lived in Boston for 3 years). Not to mention, J always welcomes us back after a whole year has passed. True 5 star experience all around. Can’t wait to go back next year!

We enjoy coming to this restaurant every year while in Florida on vacation! The food is always cooked to perfection and delicious. The owner is personable and takes a picture as a family souvenir. It’s always a great experience anytime we go. Highly recommended trying this quaint restaurant with exceptional seafood.

The food was cold. The corn was overcooked and inedible. He added a 20% gratuity without consent. He took pictures of us without asking. The washroom was disgusting. He said they just opened but the toilet had not been cleaned. There was no soap. There were boxes all over the place. Avoid this restaurant.

Super foodie here! I've traveled for food all over the world. I chose this place after a lot of research and it was the best choice I've made in a long time. The food was some of the best I've ever enjoyed. The eats and service were world class. This is now permanently on my to-eat list everytime we visit the area. BRAVO!

Mother-daughter tradition!! My Mom and I are from SC and we have visited every time we come to visit Florida since 2018! This year we will be bringing my toddler along who LOVES crab legs. We are READY FOR OUR BIBS!! LOL

If you want to feel like an honored family member, YOU MUST eat at J’s! Every time we visit Orlando, we eat at least once at this establishment and we have never been disappointed. The owner and his mother take extreme pride in their business and ensure that every customer’s needs are met. You will leave satiated as their portions are more than enough. The seafood combos and Filipino entrees are delicious!!! This is a “by reservation” restaurant, so make sure you book online or call for a table. This place is super cleanand has an excellent atmosphere. My family and friends love this place and hope that this small business is here for many years to come.

This place has become our go to for any birthday party we have. We have lots of kids so we are here often. Customer services is top notch. We truly feel like family each time we show up. J crab has the unique sauce that keeps us coming back. I personally love the reservation system. Our dinners always seem more intimate that way. J, thank you so much for everything man. This is literally one of the best restaurants we've ever visited anywhere. We always stop in when in the area. Owners are amazing and the food...the best shrimp ever. Of course the secret sauce!

I can’t even express how delicious the seasoning was on the crabs. To die for. Also, and maybe even more importantly, I’m high risk and James, the owner, went so far above and beyond to make sure everything was safe for me to eat there. We sat outside and he had everything ready for us at our reservation time. He is the most considerate restaurant owner we have come across and the food is to die for. Also, try the raspberry sweet tea!! SO refreshing and delicious. Can’t wait to come back and thank you so much James!!!

Here for a few days from Atlanta. This place, by far, has the best service I have experienced in years, they went above and beyond. I only ate crab legs, and I ate 4, yes 4 lbs. of crab legs. That should speak volumes about the food but if you don't understand, it's awesome.

Fantastic sharing platter, food was great and service was friendly and attentive. Visited early so was a bit quiet but still liked the vibe.

I was first introduced to this place on my birthday this year. Fabulous food, wonderful service. We asked them to cater our employee Christmas party. What can I say other than it was a hit. Everyone loved the food. Delicious, hot, wonderful food and not to mention the service. J worked with my budget and we got everything we wanted. PS try the Carmel cheesecake worth every sinful bite.

This was BEYOND the best seafood I have ever had. The cash upfront stipulation is understandable considering the care and freshness of the food. I would eat here for breakfast lunch and dinner if possible. A must visit if you’re in the area.

Fabulous food and service! We ate here last year and returned this year. Did not disappoint! Food was perfectly cooked and sauce was fantastic! I used website to book reservation. Received an email confirmation. Arrived at restaurant And rang bell out front. Everything was ready to go for us. Very organized process. I saw a review about frustration with communication. I will share my thoughts. This is a mother and son (2 person) operation. They have an easy to follow reservation only process that allows them to focus on quality of food and service. Embrace it! You won’t be sorry! Ps. I believe they do offer to go and outside dining without a reservation.

I haven't the time or energy to manufacture bull*ish! It's obvious that you handle constructive criticism poorly! Your snarky and dishonest comment makes me wish i hadn't written my original post with diplomacy...but BRUTAL honesty! The purpose of these reviews is to share with/alert others of an experience so that they can make an intelligent decision about where they choose to dine! Your response is the one that's not only full of lies, but a bold indicator of your character! And now that you have in black-and-white what your gratuity policy is, i will be contacting you for a FULL REFUND! I'm not saying that all those positive reviews are fake, but i am giving them the side-eye..... ORIGINAL POST: On the one hand it kinda pains me to have to rate poorly as their setup and presentation are so well done. When you make a reservation (which is mandatory), upon arrival, you almost feel like a VIP. That is, until you're seated and the menu is presented to you. The only reason i didn't leave IMMEDIATELY is because.....now that i think about it, i don't know why i didn't! Especially after learning that those ridiculous high prices DID NOT include your standard food items usually included in a seafood boil bag! There are NO boiled eggs or sausages! There's not even an option for various flavored sauces. The standard sauce is an unusual Thai sauce. My daughter and SIL (son-in-law) tried to pretend they were enjoying the food since i was paying for it and they realized how expensive it was, but midway through they couldn't fake it any more! My SIL had become visibly queasy! I also realized no one wanted to be the first to say that the food was not enjoyable. So, i helped them out and asked for the bill. I'm not sure if i was more offended at the total amount (almost $400) or the automatic gratuity included at 25% to 30%!!! 😱 I bout had to be resuscitated!!! We were only a party of THREE (3)!!! In my sixty plus years of living, I've NEVER had such an experience....even with a dinner party 2 - 3 times our size! One thing's for certain and two thing's for sure.....not only will i never darken the doors of J Crab House again, i will NEVER allow any business to take advantage of me like that again! Altho the gentleman was very mannerable, i felt (and feel) violated!

This restaurant, does not feel like a restaurant. It feels like walking into a friend or family house and having a wholesome meal with welcoming hosts. James, and his mother do such a wonderful job at making sure you are served to the degree of what would be acceptable to close friends and family. Let this establishment surprise you. (You will know exactly what I mean when you experience it). Without exaggerating, I could write an entire essay of the mindset, humbleness, and true craft James and his mother have created. James even gave us a rundown of night life for our kids (free skyline rides over Disney at the exact time to watch the Epcot fireworks, wrote us a map and guidelines to follow at each point, and…. Was spot freaking on with the timing and it blew us away!!). We also did the Andretti thrill park. Wow, the food speaks for itself and was out of this world, it is absolutely worth every single cent. It was hands down the best fried shrimp I have ever had, (don’t ask about the portions, it’s extremely generous and you will be shocked at the quantity and quality). James, thank you my friend. Your hospitality, humble professionalism, service and wonderful conversation made the highlight on our trip. Walking out of your restaurant was more like saying goodbye to a friend until the next time!

Staff was 10/10 instantly followed by amazing and fast giant platters of seafood drenched in some of the best seasoned sauces/ butter I've had in ages (shown half eaten since it was so good)! Definitely get a reservation during covid if you wanna try some premium food for moderate pricing!

We came here while on vacation not knowing we needed a reservation. They let us in anyway and it was the best! The whole place is ran by a mother and her son, so you would think its slow but it was surprisingly fast and awesome service. Highly recommend!!

Great atmosphere, excellent food and service

We didn’t even get the chance to take a good photo of our food because we couldn’t wait to dig in. This place makes you feel so at home! The food is absolutely delicious and they certainly don’t cheap out. The gentleman manning the restaurant is a sweetheart and I couldn’t be happier with his hospitality. The restaurant was decorated so in theme with good music too! 10/10!!!

This place is seriously the best in the area! We make it a point to come here whenever we are down in the Orlando area. The owners are so nice and really have amazing customer service. Order the combo #5 for a little surprise! Their spice blend is absolutely delicious!! (It’s a secret recipe and one taste will tell you why! Don’t miss out!!!) Make sure to make a reservation before you go because that’s the only way to get a table.

Me and my brother and uncle just left this restaurant. Not only was the food so delicious, but the man who served us our food was the most pleasant guy ever!! Gave us some tips for our trip, had some very nice conversations and was super on top of everything!! Great food, great service, worth all the money we spent, and I cannot recommend it enough :)

What an unexpected pleasure. A reservation-only venue with beer and wine options. Serving sizes are massive and everything tastes great thru the last bite. True seafood from around the world served by a son after being prepared by this Mom. These co-owners are first-rate as is their restaurant. Even with its proximity to the Attractions,was surprised that their clientle is more than 90% tourist as the quality should have locals filling the tables.

Our meal and experience was so good we went back the next night. I highly recommend this family restaurant. Thank you for two great evenings!

Didnt get to eat here. There is a button to press when you arrive and from there we were told to order online. Once we went online to order, the website was giving us a "curbside fee". Too much of a hassle so we left.

This is a small family owned restaurant. It's very clean, and has a modern atmosphere. Nice jazz music, which was fun. The server was very attentive. Things aren't fancy: there's plastic ware, and a paper tablecloth. BUT, the seafood was SO fresh and excellently prepared! And this is coming from someone raised in the Keys who is VERY picky about seafood! I'm telling you, leave pretense at home, and go get yourself an excellent dinner here! It's amazing! I will definitely return when back in town!
