Love the Dough Joe! Don't let its small size fool you. As they say, great things sometimes come in small packages, and this is a perfect example of just that! Awesome products and a great staff, we also love the online ordering feature. Picking up our bags full of fresh baked goodies will take you back to the drive up market days before they had a stand-alone store. All of their baked items are made with quality ingredients and skill. The lamination in their croissants are a thing of beauty. They do have grab and go sandwiches as well as warm filled milk buns and foccacia slabs if you want to grab something quick for lunch. Don't sleep on those milk buns , when I say transfomative, I mean transformative! I have tried many of the different ones they have offered, but the BBQ brisket and mac and cheese bun had my soul leave my body for a good 5 minutes. They also have wonderful options from vendors that include honey, coffee, specailty mustards, pickles, french butter, and so much more. They also have fresh lemonade in the summer and grab and go cold brew. The staff is also so wonderful. They treat you like family, and you always are greeted with a smile. Every visit feels like going home. This place is a must visit!

The best og croissants you’ll find outside of Paris. Nowhere else even comes close! Everything else is incredible as well. Absolutely worth the drive if you’re not local, and if you are local then chances are I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.

I recently visited this bakery, and I must say, it's a hidden gem! From the moment you walk in, the aroma of freshly baked goods welcomes you like a warm hug. The selection is incredible—everything from delicate pastries to hearty bread, all made with the finest ingredients. I tried their signature croissants, and they were nothing short of perfection—flaky on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making great recommendations if you're not sure what to try. The ambiance is cozy, making it the perfect spot to relax with a cup of coffee and a treat. This bakery has definitely earned a spot as my go-to for all things baked! Highly recommend!

Delicious treats and lovely service! Please do yourself a favor and check out their "Tidy" buns - they are Japanese milk buns stuffed with a yummy filling. They make different fillings (for example this week it's the Tidy Brisket and it has brisket and pepper jack inside!) and are delicious. You can find the updated menu on their website, and the Tidy will be listed under the 'warm and ready to eat' section. Everything we've tried so far has been great. The folks inside running the place are really friendly and knowledgeable! Give them a chance, and you'll be back.

Love DoughJoe! Everything from the focaccia (my fav!) to croissants to muffins to bread and everything in between are fantastic. I try to stop by every couple weeks for some goodies. 😋

The pretzel baguette was good, however, they claim to long ferment all of their items…I reacted to this, clearly it wasn’t long fermented. It was tasty though!!! ((In all fairness, I should have asked)) Grabbed their pop tart, OMG, this was fantastic. This is my new favorite guilty pleasure. Also, their butter selection is fabulous. Pain du Chocolate is great!

Very small bakery but absolutely the best bread and desserts I’ve ever had. All of the ingredients are fresh with little to no preservatives. The fruit in the desserts was all fresh and tasted great! Definitely recommend for bread and dessert!

So my best friend told me that your Bakery had the best cinnamon rolls l, we’ve had been planning to come out to your bakery for two weeks, She bought lots of stuff and she bought me a cinnamon roll, I was so disappointed the reason I love cinnamon roll because I love the taste of butter sugar with cinnamon, the cinnamon roll that I got, Was just dough and icing a sprinkle of cinnamon not even even the taste of butter sugar a sprinkle of cinnamon. It was just dough and icing. I don’t even like my cinnamon roll icing, so I just saw a picture of your cinnamon roll from a year ago on your page. The one I got look nothing like that. Maybe it was a bad baking day for seven dollars baby. I was very disappointed. I threw it in my car trash in fact it still in my car trash

Oh my god! Plan an visit immediately… you will not regret it. All items are fresh. I don’t even know what to recommend - the sourdough bread, the chocolate olive oil cupcakes, the brownie… all so incredibly delicious. My only complaint is that I wish they were open daily. The best place I’ve discovered in Tampa thus far.

You know that feeling when you find a place so amazing that you're conflicted as to say anything so you can keep the secret to yourself? Yep, that's exactly how I feel as I compose this review. You know a place is going to be special when the line forms before opening. Promptly at the stroke of the top of the hour, the door opens and the burst of friendliness appears from inside welcoming one and all. Yes, it is small. Yes, you really should know what you want and grab and go as this place is again small and busy. That being said, the selections are amazing. Just the smell of freshly baked goods upon entry is intoxicating. The best thing I can call our visit was a quick sampling. I had my mind set on the Jambon Beurre sandwich (ham and butter for the non-French listeners). Plenty of ham, swiss, and yes lots of Butter, but the addition of whole cornichons was just spectacular. It really gives you an understanding as to why the Jambon Beurre is probably the second most consumed sandwich in France, next to the Croque Monsieur. We also grabbed a slab of the Pepperoni Focaccia, which is light fluffy and loaded with pepperoni, best focaccia ever. She had the "Tidy Joe", a Harissa spices sloppy joe inside a Japanese Milk Bun. Holy wow is that an amazing thing to eat! Opted to go easy on the bakery items this time since we had all that savory to go through...so a Peach tart was the decision, and what a great one it was! There's like a real half peach in the middle of this thing, not just some little chunks or pieces. We also grabbed a Pretzel baguette to take home (it's also amazing). If you're planning to eat your purchses in the car (as we did), beverage selections are limited, but that Blood Orange soda is freakin' amazing (don't read the sugar content). Will we be back...duh, that's a definite yes!

The best place for sourdough bread & baked goods with great owners. Wish they had more but that’s always the case with a quality place. This family owned business is definitely the best bakery that I’ve been looking for since moving back to Tampa in 2023. I saw it on the morning news & was glad I stopped by, no regrets at all! It’s encouraging to see family owned businesses like this succeed & thrive. You guys have our full support, thanks again!

Amazing place, friendliest staff, and the best fresh sourdough in town. Loved their focaccia pizzas + desserts as well!

Especially If you’re into truly European quality of bread, i find this place has no competition in Tampa/St Pete for high quality French Baguettes, Sourdough Bread and other baked goods. I haven’t tried their pastries but they look terribly enticing!

The service is the best. They are always happy and upbeat. Da carbs are amazing. Especially the sweet stuff! The old motto here was don’t let anyone know. Now these days, one minute past their opening time, they are out of everything lol. Can people who actually live in Encore and Ybor have this by themselves?

Service was top notch. Plenty of parking at the lot at the side. Croissant was amazing. Super decadent. Will definitely be back.

The baguette was perfect. Crunchy but not tough on the outside and chewy on the inside. I love their hot cross buns and the Japanese bun. The pain au chocolat was massive! Definitely will be coming back for more!

Wow!! what a great little place, I didn't know I needed to try. Super friendly staff. I bought chocolate chip cookies, a brownie, ciabatta rolls and a sticky icky bun. Nothing disappointed. Too bad I don't live closer or I would come here again. Next time I'm in the area, I'll have to swing by.

I love this bakery. I’ve been shopping about 6 months and have loved everything I’ve gotten. They have a rotating menu so if I see something I like I buy and put in the freezer. I get the ciabatta rolls, pizza and a bread with the fixings weekly. I try to get around to all the new-to-me stuff, but really do love everything I’ve had so far. I think the prices are very reasonable and the quality rise about the level of what you pay for, IMO. I always forgot to take pics but finally remembered today.

Great little place with real good food items and 🍞

The good: the pain au chocolat was really good. The not so good: neither of us liked the cinnamon rolls. They had so much brown sugar it overwhelmed whatever cinnamon may have been there. The icing was too thick and also too much. We scraped all the excess off and ate the rest. The actual dough part was nice.

After a horrendously disappointing sourdough loaf in St Pete, we crossed the bridge to grab a couple country sourdough loaves for Christmas. Idk how we have slept on this place for so long. Absolutely incredible baking here. Game changer!! Life long devoted fans now. The employees were incredibly kind, as well. P.s. I have Hashimoto’s and try to limit my gluten intake bc it’s generally super processed carbs but the sourdough was easily digestible and I didn’t feel inflamed after.

We’ve been wanting to try this bakery and we were so pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We have kids with food allergies and our daughter was able to pick out a few goodies such as the chocolate cherry sourdough and garden pizza. They are now her favorite!! We also picked up the cinnamon roll and blueberry muffin!! Everything was fresh & amazingly delicious and we can’t wait to try more of their other items!!

On Swann Sourdough, Bestdamn V Chocochip Cookies, and Pesto Club Hero are all delicious!

JB’s is the spot to go! They change their menu regularly so you need to come in often to see what they have to offer. Everything is made fresh, and they supply some of the highest regarded restaurants in Tampa. They will continue to receive my service both for their baked goods and for their sandwiches. The portions and prices are also so fair and the employees are so friendly. If you are looking for fresh bread with no preservatives, this is your spot.

Wow! I hidden gem that we happened to pass by during a quick trip to Tampa. Fresh bread and more. The owner took the time to explain each item and was extremely detailed with some of their specialty goods. They sell out of their bread quick so try to get here early. Open Thursday to Saturday.

Even better than I expected with so many choices! The homemade treats are made with love that you can taste with every bite! Fresh, unique flavors.

My neighbor recommended this bakery so decided to finally go. It's only (Thur - Sat) and they tend to see out of most items quickly. I came by on a Thursday about 10 minutes after they opened and the line wasn't that long. I bought their Japanese Milk Bread (light & airy), their Pumpkin Spice Croissant (creamy inside & tasty) and their Original Kouign Amann (sweet & flaky). I was looking for a decent sourdough option, but only found the OnSwann Sourdough. I will be going back for the Japanese Milk Bread, which I can't find anywhere else.

They probably don't need another exceptional review but this is the most special and creative bakery in Tampa. Gotta get there quick during opening hours!
