I grew up in the 50's and our main entertainment, as we were poor, was a trip to the greater Pittsburgh Airport to watch the planes take-off and land. Cheap entertainment for a bunch of kids. The runway Cafe, apart from the great breakfast and lunch offerings, gives me that same thrill. Just on a smaller scale.

The vegetable omelette was very good! The server is fantastic! Love the view of Airplanes and Jets taking off and arriving. My only complaint is the wait. Maybe if possible, expand the restaurant. Reservation is only during the week. A must try!!! ☀️

Great little hideaway for a nice brunch with a view of the airport. No reservations are taken so be prepared to wait at least 20 -30 mins for a seat. I arrived at 1pm. The food was good I had the French toast , scrabbled eggs, sausage and bacon. The portion was plentiful . The mimosa with pomegranate was a nice twist to your ordinary mimosa . My server was pleasant. Definitely will be back.

I will definitely be back to this restaurant....its hard to find a good food menu for my kid as she is very picky.... but she looked at the menu and was super excited to see the options.

I just wanted to mention how much we love visiting here as regulars. We had Cassidy as our waitress for the first time, and she was absolutely fantastic. Her politeness, humor, knowledge, and warmth truly stood out. Despite attending to other tables, Cassidy always ensured we had everything we needed. She made our visit so much more enjoyable. A big thank you to Cassidy for making our experience so delightful!

Its only breakfast food and you would think that was easy but the food here was subpar. The service was not good as well. The only highlight is view and was still much to be desired. I won't be back

Guys this was so bad! I have never had a worse eggs Benedict, ever. The hollandaise sauce was so acidic. The eggs cover cooked. The fruit was an up charge and was mainly canned mandarins. Also ordered a wrap and another up charge for cold sweet potato fries. I will not be back, first and last time.

It’s a nice place for stopping by for a coffee and breakfast. Everyone is kind and professional, food is good. You have a beautiful view through huge windows on executive airport; which has small airplanes and helicopters. Chill place ~ we enjoyed our time here & we’ll be back. Thank you!

We found this place a couple of years ago while in town visiting family and loved it the first time we came. Food was amazing but the service was slow. We came back a second time and the food was just okay and the service was still slow. Now it’s our third time around and it’s an absolute no! The food was not good. The food lack flavor. My husband had the chicken and waffle and his chicken tasted like frozen Tyson chicken and the waffle tasted like a thick cake batter. I had the croissant sandwich and they burned some of the croissant. And of course …service was slow. Unfortunately we wont be coming back. Just overpriced food that is not good is a double negative.

This is a consistent favorite of ours. The food is great the service is friendly and the view of the runway is very pleasant. It's a great experience and then drive about a half a mile North and go to the observation area and watch the planes take off.

I had steak and eggs, and the steak was pretty darn good. Really good flavor and cooked exactly how I asked. I will be back soon. I am just disappointed that I didn't know about this place sooner

A great double espresso and very full plates of food. Yesterday we went with a group of 8 (half kids, 1 with an allergy) and our server got everything correct. Thank you for a great meal experience witg a fun view!

I stumbled upon this gem of a place on Instagram and TikTok, and thought, "Why not? I'm nearby" I'm so happy I did. I got there around 11:30 am (they close at 3 pm), and immediately, I was struck by the design. You're literally walking into an old airport hangar, so the ambiance is spot on. I sat down and ordered the chicken and waffles - a generous portion that was absolutely delightful. But the real star of the show? The airplanes and jets. The place is actually situated on a real runway, so if you're lucky enough to snag a seat facing it, you get to watch private jets and airplanes take off and land. It's such a unique experience - it's like having breakfast or lunch at your very own personal airport. Highly recommend for a fun and different date idea

If you love to watch planes you’ll love this place. Comfort foods like Mac n cheese grill cheese and shrimp and mango wrap. It’s a bit pricey but a fun adventure

I went recently to have breakfast with my husband. The wait was around an hour on a Sunday which is pretty normal for a breakfast place on a weekend. I definitely liked the view and the whole theme of the restaurant but the food was just not the best. My husband ordered one called First Class which had a churrasco steak and let’s just say it was the smallest piece of churrasco ever, it almost seems like they cut them and only give small pieces with the breakfast. Another thing my husbands meal came with either pancakes or French toast of which we ordered French toast and the French toast did not taste fresh or just made, it almost tasted as if they were made earlier in the morning and just served them to us room temp. I ordered the banyan breakfast and the bacon was burnt to a crisp which I hate super hard crispy bacon, the sausage was also overcooked. It almost felt like the bacon and sausage were cooked previously and served to us room temp. A majority of the food tasted as if it wasn’t hot or just made, only the eggs. The grits were probably the only thing that I really liked but again wasn’t even hot just slightly warm. The breakfast for two was around $60 dollars and the wait around an hour. Would I go here again and wait an hour and pay $60 bucks for food that wasn’t freshly made? No! This was my experience I see a lot of other good reviews and maybe they just didn’t have the experience I had. I would not recommend this place and will not be going again.

The food is great. The scenery is awesome. We came here to enjoy my toddler 3rd birthday. The wait was over an hour. However, we just strolled and watched the plane takeoff.

A super-cool place to eat located right on the runway! It's small, cozy, and a lot of fun. The menu is varied, the food is excellent, and the service is great.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Be prepared for sticker shock, you pay for that view of the planes passing by. My breakfast, tater tots, bacon, veggies eggs in a skillet was delicious. It wa $17. My wife's avocado toast with eggs was great also. It was $16 I think. We didn't get coffee but have in the past and it is good also. A great breakfast experience, especially if you have kids as airplanes fascinate them. It beats giving them a tablet.

The food was amazing. My wife ordered a chicken pot pie, and the tuna melt was to DIE for. The cookies were amazing. The service was nice and friendly and our order was done in a timely fashion would definitely go again and HIGHLY recommend!

1h waiting and not even got a window table to see the airplanes. Small and dark place. Food is good but not great and it’s pricey. Not ideal to go with kids having to wait so long.

It would be a better experience if they accepted reservations. There is always a 20-30 minute wait. Service is friendly but slow. Food is still good, but FYI they stopped serving beer a few months ago.

Unique hideaway location situated in a small airport. An experience to see.

I love this place! I bring my parents here every time they visit! On our last visit, I couldn't decide between the chocolate chip pancakes or the blueberry pancakes, and I asked our server if he would in fact surprise me, and I also let him know I would not be mad if he blessed me with both flavors. This man didn't just bless me with both flavors, but instead of getting one blueberry and one. Chocolate chip, I got a blueberry chocolate chip pancake! It was THE BOMB! I told them it needs to be on the menu as a stack of Kimberly's Surprise Pancakes. Best pancakes ever!

This was IT!!! No wonder it's hidden. I'll be back. The Belgian waffle was on my mind even after eating it. I had the crab hash egg Benedict over home fries. Awesome!!!! It was bustling on a Thursday morning. I can't imagine weekends. But all worth it

Last time I was here the food and drinks were great but a little pricy. I love the view of the planes, parking wasn’t an issue when I went. I would definitely go back the waitresses were friendly and I didn’t have to wait long for a table.

My husband and I stopped by on a whim. I ordered the Chicken n' Waffle while he got the Salmon Louie. We also took a bread pudding to go. The waffle was thick and tasted like cake batter to me which I didn't care for. The chicken, however, was pretty decent. The Salmon was crisp on the outside, flaky on the inside, and the salad itself was pretty good. The bread pudding was decent. The view of the runway is pretty nice as well. We'll go back again!

3/22/24- always busy . Great to see these private planes take off and land . The food very good . I had the blackened Mahi choose of ff or Cole slaw . I went w/ the slaw. My gf had avocado toast , Sliced tomato and an over easy egg. It came w/ a little salad and potatoes

6/25/21-Wow right on the runway.. lots of private planes. The food was great. The potato were perfect . I had the Eggs Benedict, yum. Then there were 2 orders of Bayan Breakfast but they deconstructed it because it was a sandwich. And then another had a triple stack pancakes buttermilk they look so nice. They give you a small square dessert type of I don’t know but it was very yummy service was great place was nice a lot of planes very enjoyable Wow busy place. Not open for dinner. Great to see all the planes landing and taking off. Good food. I had the soup of day Monday onion soup. Plenty of stringy cheese, great broth, really nice. Plus you have a choice of salad. I choose the Cobb no meat ,but a 1/2 of egg plus bacon. Their peppercorn ranch was yummy. My friend had ? Burrito with ff. Look good. 3/22/24-3/22/24- always busy . This is my second time at the Jet Runway Cafe. Tucked behind the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, this is a fun local spot for breakfast or lunch with great views of the private jets arriving and departing. Today’s lunch of a spinach wrap with coconut shrimp and coleslaw was fresh, light and delicious. Our server was attentive and super pleasant despite every table being full. We have had the goat cheese salad and avocado toast on a previous visit and found them equally good. There is parking in front, but you may have to wait for a spot to open. This place is always full to capacity. We prefer going during the week as weekends could find you waiting over an hour. We were pleased both times we visited. Will be back!

Really good breakfast spot that is hidden. Wide variety of food options. As a plane enthusiast I personally love eating by the runway and watching planes take off and land. Food is great. Varying on when you go, service can be great, quick, and attentive or slow and not as responsive. This changes no matter if the restaurant is busy or slow. The servers themselves are nice people. Recommended spot for sure.

For such a small restaurant, it carries a large choice of meals. Food is fresh, and service was fast even with a crowd.

This is a small, bustling spot with a fun closeup view of private jets I can't afford. :-) The food and service are consistently good. Try the shimp and grits or the coconut shrimp wrap...yum! Prices aren't cheap but won't break the bank. Great place for quick lunch with the work crew. Go early, though, because it gets super busy at noon, and wait times can be long.

The location and view is wonderful. The menu options are great and delicious. I totally forgot to take pictures of the food but it was good and great portions. Unfortunately the service was bad. I never really complain or get annoyed but this was too much. We walked in and were told to pick our table. Several of the table still had food that had not been cleaned up so we pick one of the few open. It was dirty, it had not been wiped down and a dish with butter and jelly was still there. The hostess went back and got a rag to clean the table and left it pretty wet but at least it was clean. Our waitress seemed a bit rushed which is understandable. Once our food arrived our waitress was no where to be found and it took us about 15 minutes to get someone to walk over and we asked for hot sauce and glass of water for me. The lady said yes and we thought she was bringing it, nope she never came back and finally about 5 minutes later our waitress came and we asked again for water and hot sauce. She brought it to us and our check shortly after. The food is totally worth it and just go with the mindset that you are there to enjoy seeing the planes and don’t get caught up on the service.

Absolutely 5 stars across the board! The ambiance, the staff, the food… AMAZING! Jet Cafe is one of those places where you can simply feel good and enjoy a delicious meal.

Great place to enjoy breakfast. My advice is to go earlier than later. Whenever I go later the line gets long and the service and food gets lax but if you go early the service and food is much better. Enjoy and be blessed y’all 😊

Dined here the other day for the second time. Service was awful this time. I had to return my sandwich as it was cold. French fries were also cold. The server listened and said 'OK', never apologized, never offered to bring this to the attention of the manager. Very disappointing. The servers are not particularly polite or professional. Mine certainly wasn't.

Maybe the best breakfast spot anywhere. Ambiance is second to none, food and service were amazing. Highly recommend.

The food was okay. We had the BBQ flatbread as an appetizer (which isn’t on the menu), and it was very standard. My boyfriend had the first class, and the steak was watery and bland but was cooked to temp. Chicken and waffles is what I ordered, and it was okay. The mint was a different twist on this classic, but the syrup was not spicy and was a bit of a letdown. The waffles were very floury and got stuck in your teeth. The atmosphere was great. We watched several planes take off on the runway right from our table. The service was horrible at our server; she never introduced herself and was very pushy about ordering. She never came to check on refills or see how the food came out, ensuring we were all good. We had to ask another server, as well as a busser, twice to get things that we needed for our meal. We then asked the busser to speak to the manager. She then appeared and asked if we needed anything; moments later, the manager appeared, and we discussed what happened with him. Then, we saw the manager talk to our server afterward, and her attitude was horrible. She gave us dirty looks and our Togo boxes, then never saw her again. We had another busser take our check up to cash out. I am very disappointed in this place; we will never be back.

Our server was amazing and the grilled cheese with tomato bisque was really good! The view was also pretty cool as you sit right next to the taxiways.

Staff was friendly but the food wasn’t as good as couple years ago.

With time to kill before flying back to the UK this was the obvious place for lunch. Once we could get a table we were not disappointed. Reasonably comprehensive menu given the nature of the cafe and did a first class burger as you would hope and expect. Like most runway side eateries seems to attract a large number of non-airfield users but unlike the UK not huge numbers of cyclists and bikers! Also in contrast to England all the aircraft made me and my plastic twin feel inadequate. Great view of the bizjets if you want.

Food was solid, pricing was fair. The atmosphere, being on the tarmac is really cool. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Besides the hour wait, the food not being hot and our debit card being charged for another table's bill ( which was much higher than our bill), breakfast was ok. Went for the ambiance and to have my birthday breakfast/brunch.

Excellent food and service. I had the omelette with bacon and cheddar cheese. Grits were excellent! Everything was well seasoned and didn't need anything more. Great place to take in the view and enjoy some quality food.

We had a short wait, but the host was spot-on with setting timing expectations. Food was delicious, and service was both expedient and exceptional. They got my toddler served ASAP and quick to clear everything without us feeling rushed. Great to watch the runway, but the food was the star!

Everything is always good at JRC. From the food to the ambiance, you can't go wrong. The only knock I have is that it's always busy which is a testament to the food and service. If you haven't had the Brioche French toast, treat yourself and thank me later. Will definitely be back.

It was time for breakfast! I had over easy eggs with bacon & sausage grits and pancakes. The meal was delicious and it’s fun watching the jets departures and arrivals. Food was served hot and arrived quickly. I recommend this hidden gem!
