hands down the best fried seafood place i've ever been to. Stayed in Sarasota for 3 days, this is one of the places that make me visit again in the future.

Island mahi and shrimp and grits were a hit. Service was on point, Katherine was great, food came out quick. First time, but will definitely be back.

This place was recommended by the host of an Airbnb I stayed at. Kacey’s did not disappoint. I ordered the grouper seared in garlic butter and it was absolutely amazing! I am a big salt user; however, there was no need to add any to this fish. The garlic butter was like nothing I’ve had and the fish was delightfully tender as expected. I usually don’t order coleslaw but I really loved theirs! Wonderful meal! The service was fantastic and it was enjoyable sitting outside.

The BEST garlic butter sauce you will EVER have in your life, hands down. We came here twice on our vacation.

From the hostess to the kitchen to the manager what an excellent evening. The Grouper special was outstanding. We will ne back and highly recommended.

Don't judge a book by its cover. I was worried about a strip mall seafood place but I am so glad we tried it. Excellent food and service! Coconut shrimp was perfect, the Mahi was tender and flavorful, and the hushpuppes were {chef's kiss}. Do not pass on Kacey's.

We went there for the first time yesterday. The service was great, as was the food. We tried the lobster bisque, the gumbo, the crab cake, and the cod sandwich. I loved the lobster bisque. My husband loved the gumbo. We both loved the crab cakes.

Quick service, sweet employees and delicious food. Only issue was my philly cheesesteak had mushrooms when i asked for nine but considering they were busy it’s not a big deal I just picked them off. The other people I was with had a perfect meal and enjoyed their dinner.

Nice but a rather small space. Not intament just small kinda crowded.Excellent food and service, very clean. Big portions and well priced.

This seafood restaurant is as good as many in central Florida. Unfortunately, You cannot have the Shrimp and Grits without the pork in it. That was quite disappointing. The really good seafood restaurants in Florida serve Shrimp and Grits as a "seafood" dish, and if some add pork, they give the option to hold it, and it still tastes great. I would list some of the wonderful seafood restaurants that serve this dish without pork, but that would not be appropriate here. . They should show this dish in the menu as "Shrimp and Grits with Bacon." The other dish I ordered was fine. It's been a few days now, so I don't remember what it was, lol. I asked my wife what she had, and she doesn't remember either. I suppose that shows how memorable that birthday party for six was. The beer was good.

DO NOT EAT HERE! this place is terrible. If I could give ZERO stars I WOULD! One of the owners name is Bob, he is a huge SOB!..my son worked there when he was 15. It was his first job and this guy bullied and harassed him and cussed at him on EVERY shift… My son worked in the kitchen and said they found a tooth in the bisque! Yes a TOOTH! And I have pictures to prove it. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS PLACE!

Jill took very good care of us and she did not lie, the crab cakes were AWESOME!! YUMMY!

Red snapper was excellent!!! And a huge portion. If I make it back to Sarasota, I'll try to go again.

We live 80 miles north and had tickets for a show at the Van Eezzle and found this GEM on line. The food was great, the service was great and the food came out fast and hot. Our server was Anthony, a fine and attentive young man did a great job. Every server pitched in and worked as a team. As a former retail manager I can see the manager has done a great job managing. We will definitely return when in the area.

I was a little skeptical when I pulled up to a restaurant in the parking lot of a strip mall but let me tell you...we were greeted immediately and taken to a table. Within a few seconds we had Anthony come to the table. We ordered and our food was delivered in under 15 minutes. My husband had the gumbo (he's a regular at Mardi Gras in New Orleans and he like this the best) and I had the BEST Lobster bisque! We shared a lobster roll. It was delicious. The service was impeccable, smooth but no waiting and wondering if anyone was coming over. If I lived closer I'd be there weekly. Not worth making at home when you can have efficiency, excellent flavors and great prices. Thank you Anthony and team.

What a great find! The portions are big and delicious. Meals are fairly priced. We got the cod and it was flakey and fresh. They have a huge assortment on the menu.

Been here multiple times to properly give a chance. My conclusion is great service, but overpriced for the quality of the food. Also, if you're under 50, you won't fit in here.

Food was delicious; I got the island mahi which came with a pineapple risotto and coconut shrimp. Phenomenal! The service was timely and well done, and the restaurant was clean and well put together.

I can't really rate as we did not stay This is a place that seems to not be friendly to groups. It was not busy and they made us wait outside and we had a few who wanted alcohol other than beer and wine. I have heard the food is great

While the dining area isn't that impressive, the food is delish, and the server, friendly and attentive. The prices for lunch selections are reasonable. There were three of us. My daughter had the shrimp grits, which really looked and smelled more like etouffee'. Her husband had the crab cake and black bean cake, and I had the portobello pasta dish. My son-in-law has a restaurant management background, and he praised the blackbean cake, so I know it must have been good. I enjoyed the pasta, although the portobello portion was a little skimpy. I expected a whole cap, not a couple of slices, but otherwise, the dish met my expectations.

DAVE the MANAGER cleaned our table off b/c all the tables outside were dirty. The inside of the restaurant was packed & there was a wait. Outdoor seating was available immediately. They have heat lamps outside next to all the tables , which was awesome!!!!! B/c the wind was blowing, and it was still sprinkling rain outside. RYAN was our WAITER and he was absolutely AMAZING, AWESOME, WONDERFUL!! It would be nice if all waiters were as GREAT as RYAN . RYAN helped us w/the menu. Made ordering easy. This was our 1st time eating at this establishment & not the last. It was a wonderful dining experience and the 2 young ladies who brought our food out, were very lovely & pleasant. 5 ⭐️!!! I may have reviewed this years ago. Update. They are still fabulous! I like the chefs at Fruitville the best. Is there any fish in the sea that chef can’t make fabulous? The University location is sometimes closer so we go there too. You can’t go wrong. Just order fish. It’s always lovely both locations!

Really good food prepared perfectly. Lineups on a Friday evening started at 430, owing to the quality of the food. Many seafood related choices on the menu.

We love everything at Kaceys but I will say their shrimp Kacey is amazingly good.

Having read the favorable reviews, we elected to take my sister out for a birthday lunch. I ordered a half rack of ribs and chicken, tender combo. The fries and the chicken strips were standard deep fryer fare. The ribs must’ve been made and reheated and reheated. I would expect the meat portion of the ribs to be soft, not crunchy and dried out. My sister had shrimp, which was average premade coated shrimp that goes right from the freezer to the deep fryer. They were decent quality and size and represented a good value. The shrimp and grits shown in the picture had an “Cajun”sauce that was probably tomato based. perhaps it was just a “one off “but I would avoid the ribs. The rest of the food was acceptable.

This place is great while it’s not fancy it’s a good value for a great serving of food and it has the best Lobster Bisque in town. The Cajun Mahi Salad this time around but the fish taco fish and chips are good too. They also have frequent diner program rewards equals dollars off future dining

My husband and I and very good friends went to KaCey’s for my birthday. One of us had the salmon, which was excellent! The rest of us had the special, spinach ravioli and baked stuff shrimp. The meal was outstanding! The portion size included 6 good sized shrimp and ravioli in an extremely tasty sauce! The service was outstanding, and the owner was not only friendly and attentive, but was willing to share the recipe for that amazing sauce!! Oh, we enjoyed the hush puppies as an appetizer and loved the key lime pie for dessert! This restaurant is now on our “go to” restaurant whenever we are in Sarasota!

We had a wonderful waitress. All the staff in the restaurant were so attentive. Alvin got a piece of delicious cheesecake with a candle stuck in it for his birthday, which had been two weeks earlier

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Thank you for a great dinner. Host was wonderful (despite impatient hungry diners), wait staff was terrific, and food was truly outstanding! When you really look at the footprint, the output of great food is even more impressive. My husband had the crab-stuffed mahi special and it was cooked perfectly - even better than we could have done at home. Do yourself a favor and get a cup of gumbo. We’ll be back.

We've been at the beach all week eating at seafood restaurants. Went to visit a 97 year old cousin I haven't seen in 66 years, and he recommended Kacey's. We also live near the beach in North Carolina. I can't remember the last time I had fried fish this good. The service was great, as was the visit.

You can rely on kaceys to deliver quality food, made with love. The coconut shrimp is terrific. Also the snapper francaisse so yum! In the past we had the shrimp trio appetizer and all 3 styles were great. Fish and chips are awesome and I think they have the best fries in town.

Looks can be deceiving! I would have totally missed this jewel. This place has wonderful food. The crab cakes were lovely, the best I've had since being in Maryland. The Cod Florentine was also excellent. Don't miss the house made sangria. The cup is served with frozen mango pieces and yummy. Enjoy!

Wow, this place is great! I've never had a sandwich like their Cod-Zilla, it was huge, and delicious! I like to think that I'm a local fish sandwich/ fish taco aficionado, in fact my wife laughs because she always knows what I'm going to order, and this is one of the best fish sandwiches in Sarasota! My wife had the Mahi Reuben, fantastic. We have also had their Lobster Bisque, and Gumbo, both terrific. I've had the Cod Florentine on another visit, it was delicious, and I had enough leftover for lunch the next day, and I'm not a small guy! Service has always been friendly, and super efficient, without being rushed. They always check on you to make sure that you're enjoying everything, and topping off your ice tea, and water without having to ask. All around, just a great place.

My fiancé and I stumbled upon this place while looking for a seafood restaurant in Sarasota and it did not disappoint. The service was great and fast! The lobster bisque was AMAZING. I try lobster bisque everywhere I go and it was one of the best I've ever had. I had the lobster roll and it was out of this world! The portion was HUGE and it was reasonably priced. My fiancé enjoyed everything as well. We will definitely be back!

Great fish and chips. All the food was hot and delicious. Others had coconut shrimp baskets and there was plenty of food! The servers all helped one another and focused on the needs of the customers.

We did a quick search for restaurants near us and this place came up. Just having arrived in town we decided to check it out. The food tastes amazing, like it was created with care. We tried their shrimp appetizer (I think it was called Big Bang Shrimp or something). It was stupendous. I had the Mahi Rueben sandwich and my husband had the fried fish and shrimp. All was very good! Can not wait to go back!!

We were looking for a place to eat nearby and decided to try Kacey’s Seafood. We were pleasantly surprised! It’s a small restaurant in a strip mall, but everything about it was amazing! Katie was our server, and she was so friendly and attentive! She checked on us often and always had a smile. We ordered Shrimp Scargot as an appetizer and Shrimp Scampi as our meals. Both dishes were delicious! The shrimp in the scampi were huge and plentiful. The sauce was so good! The prices were very reasonable also. We can’t wait to go back!

A co-worker told me about Kacey's and happened to go there that night. The next day she brought in gumbo and lobster bisque to work. A day later and reheated they were some of the best I've ever had.

Had a wonderful sauted cod and spinach dish. My mom had the shrimp scampi and loved it. Lobster bisque was very tasty as well. Large portions too. Staff is super polite and attentive.
