We’ve been to tiki bars across the country and this is the best one we’ve been to by far. It’s small, but not too small, just small enough to be intimate. Drinks were fantastic and authentic. I can’t recommend this place enough!!!

Our bartender Billy was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He was a second generation bar keep who even had his father’s very own recipes! Very cool vibes. They went above and beyond to truly immerse the guest into the tiki experience. Strongly recommend the Martini Colada and Vicious Virgin no. 9. You won’t be disappointed

I had a fantastic experience at Kaona. The service was exceptional, especially thanks to our waiter, Pablo. From the moment we arrived, Pablo made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. He took the time to explain the drinks on the menu in detail, recommending options based on our tastes. We will definitely go back!

Our experience at this tiki themed speakeasy was above and BEYOND!! Make sure to have reservations in advance since it’s the only way to get in. From the moment we walked in I knew it was going to be an unforgettable evening. The drinks were delicious!!! I highly recommend the tiki bowl and the rum cake!! Both came with an amazing fire presentation! We also had the beef bao buns and the peanut butter dumplings. Everything is absolutely delicious!! This is hands down my favorite place now. Even the staff is so accommodating and friendly!! The overall energy is so special!! From the lighting, the atmosphere, thunder and rain music in the background.. just so unique and a hidden GEM!!! HIGHLY recommend!!! 10/10!!! Also, shoutout to Billy the bartender!!! His craft at making cocktails is unmatched

Above and beyond my expectations and I am a fan of tiki and quite particular. The drinks, the food, the service, the atmosphere. Everything was simply amazing.

This place is simply amazing, every detail in the decor is unique, the food is exquisite, rich in flavor and very good portions, we tried the Rock’n’Shrimp, Crispy Rice and the Hawaiian fried rice, all delicious. The drinks are also very good, we tried the Lychee Nut Daiquiri, the Martini Colada and the Sexy Colada, all rich in flavor and the presentation is simply out of this world. The place is a gem, highly recommended. I suggest making a reservation because when you arrive they give you the choice of where you want to sit from the best seats, and although this place is beautiful and cozy, it is also small. Our waiter was very friendly and always on top of every detail, he was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks we tried, he made sure our experience was unforgettable. We will definitely be back!

Perfectly executed. This place does a great job of encapsulating everything about tiki culture. It’s obvious that a lot of detail went into crafting this space and menu for the best possible experience. Coming from Portland, OR, where we’re lucky to have some of the highest rated tiki bars in the country, Kaona ranks right up there with the best for me. A gem to find in Miami.

I can't say enough good things about my favorite bar in Miami. My boyfriend and I are tiki bar enthusiasts and Kaona Room is just the BEST. The drinks are all delicious and strong. My personal favorite is the Martini Colada. It's such a smooth cocktail and I've never had anything like it. My boyfriend's favorite is the Navy Grog. The presentation for each drink is always amazing. If you order a tiki bowl, you get a show with flames. The servers are very friendly and shout out to Billy! He always makes us feel so welcome when we're there. We started going to Esotico in 2019 and although we're sad it's not there anymore, at least we have Kaona Room. We will DEFINITELY be back again and again. Oh and if you’re going on a Friday or Saturday night, I would recommend making a reservation beforehand or you may have to wait a little bit.

This place feels like home! It’s so cozy and nice. The bartenders and servers are so fun and bring cool vibes. The place is like a hidden oasis that makes you feel like you’re not in Miami!

I've only recently gotten into Tiki, and this was my first "real" Tiki bar, one I made it a point to experience. I can recommend this place without reservation; if you're anywhere near here, visit! It was a wonderful experience that far exceeded my expectations. Walking in, the place felt authentic; cool, dark, and overflowing with decor. I subsequently visited a 2nd bar out West that was very highly rated, and that place, while enjoyable, felt too staged; this place feels real, and you really can feel the love they have and do put into this bar. The service and presentation were beyond anything I could have expected. I ended up ordering an Aged Mai Tai and it was, quite simply, the absolute best mixed drink I've ever gotten anywhere. Most "tropical" drinks I've had of this type are either cloyingly sweet or so overpowered with alcohol that they're chores to get through, but this was extremely well balanced and flavorful. I only had the one, and left shortly thereafter, but it was a fantastic experience, and I cannot wait to return to Miami with my wife so we can enjoy it together. It was good enough that I wanted to highlight it in a review, and that's something that I very seldom do. If you have an opportunity to stop in, do so; you will not regret it.

I'll keep this short and simple. If you're a tikiphile (smugglers cove, three Dots and a Dash, False Idol, Latitude 29 etc), this place is a must visit. Best piña colada ever and the Orgeat on the Mai Tai is *chefs kiss*

Kaona Room is a hidden gem in Miami, the ambiance and drinks are amazing but the best part is the service! Everyone makes you feel like you are part of the tiki family and truly appreciated for being there. As a tourist this is always on the list when we are in Miami and has been excellent and consistent each time we’ve been. Highly recommend, we’d be here everyday if we could!

The food, atmosphere and service is amazing. I highly recommend the shrimp dishes and the Sexy Colada drink. My husband and I had a blast trying to find this secret location. The waiter we had offered great drink choices and fun to our evening.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Kaona Room, the "Speaky Tiki" gem nestled in Miami, and I must say, it was quite the experience! This was my absolute favorite place for drinks on my recent stay in Miami. First off, let's talk about the cocktails - they were nothing short of stellar. Each sip was like a burst of flavor dancing on my taste buds. The liquid smoke that accompanied every drink was also such a cool twist on the overall experience. It enhanced the vibe of the Tiki bar's incredible atmosphere and just stole the show. Now, onto the service. Billy, our bartender, was an absolute delight. Not only did he whip up some killer cocktails, but he also enhanced the whole experience with his friendly demeanor and expert knowledge of mixology. Kudos to Billy for making our night extra special. Also, we had tried to come to Kaona the night before but they were closed!!!! and Billy graciously let us in to check out the place even though he was not open. We knew we HAD to come back the next night to experience it in action! While the food was undeniably great, it was the drinks that truly stole the spotlight. But hey, that's not to say the dishes weren't delicious! The beef bao buns were packed with flavor, and the Pohaku and Kraken Dog (octopus sandwich) were to die for. Oh, and let me tell you about the rice flambé they did for the table next to us - talk about inducing jealousy! It looked and smelled absolutely divine. Overall, if you're in Miami and looking for a spot with killer cocktails and delicious bites, look no further than the Kaona Room. It's a five-star experience all around!

As a big fan of tiki bars, this is the real deal. The decor was extensive, thoughtful and cohesive. The food was delicious and most importantly the cocktails were amazing and well crafted. Paolo provided incredible service and Billy served up some phenomenal drinks. Make it a point to visit if you are in the area!

With its wide selection of rum from various makers, it's a destination that shouldn't be overlooked. The food is equally impressive, bursting with flavour and impeccably prepared. I highly recommend trying the shrimp dumplings and octopus roll—they're absolute must-haves. Glorious hidden gem!! Became my fav place to dine out in Miami The cocktails serving is a show and they are prepared with great care and creativity - the result is entertaining and super delicious! The food is super tasty: the dishes are anything but obvious - sticky rice for starter and octopus roll will not let you down! The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is super friendly and dedicated. Definitely somewhere you must go - will not disappoint!

I had such a great experience here! This truly is a hidden gem. Every single person who works here is extremely kind, friendly, and attentive. The ambience really is incredible. You truly feel as if you are being transported back in time and as if you are on vacation. The decor, live music, and overall ambience really transport you and it feels like a magical haven. The food and drinks are also delicious and beautifully presented! Plus they serve food until about 1 am so it’s great finding a place that stays open late serving food. An all around incredible experience!! I’ll definitely be returning! Come here if you want to escape Miami and be transported to another time and place!

TRUE RATING: 6/10 Billy was our bartender and he gave us the most phenomenal experience today. Let’s start with ambiance. The place is completely decked out with tiki decor. So so amazing. Down to the T everything is detailed and hand-picked. Shrunken heads, cute pineapple heads, aloha figures, lamps, and all kinds of tiki-related. The drinks. We got the Sexy Colada, a Painkiller, and a Zombie. We spent time discussing out options with Billy and he carefully described the ingredients and his process of making certain homemade components of those crafted cocktails. He truly has his heart in what he does and it is all reflected in the final results. His cocktails are incredible. He is also the nicest person ever. Food. We got the peanut butter dumplings and they surprised me. They were to die for. We could have eaten one hundred more. Then, we got the Hawaiian Fried Rice. It really might be the best fried rice I’ve ever had in my life. The little pieces of corn add unexpected sweetness Along with the onion pieces. Best fried rice o-m-g. Everything was to-die-for. The service was impeccable from all of the employees whom were extremely attentive. I hope this place lasts because it is so top-tier. I can’t sing its praises enough. GET HERE.

What can I say, this place is amazing. I've been to the best Tiki bars across the globe and I still can't believe how good Kaona is. The drinks are delicious and so much effort goes into making each one perfect. The bar is full of decorations and the ambience takes you to that special tropical place in a bygone era. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and there's plenty of space to sit back, relax and enjoy. Thanks Kaona, we'll be back.

We found this gem and let me just say WOW. This was such an amazing experience from start to finish. I always look for a speak easy while traveling but this place was top tier. The drinks were delivered with a suprise show and inside was so different from any place I have been to in Miami thus far. I truly felt as if i was in Hawaii at a tiki show. A must try, the ambiance was wonderful and our server Marcelo made the experience all the better, he was truly amazing !

What could be better than a tiki bar? A tiki speakeasy. Friendly service. Strong tropical drinks. We didn't get a chance to try the food because it was late at night when we stopped by and the kitchen was closed, but we'll be back.

It is a theme bar, like Hawaiian, most of the drinks are rum-based, we ordered several to try them, the way they serve it and the presentation is quite attractive, the drinks are also very rich and strong, for what it's worth the place is worth visiting! Simone and his staff (Jorge and Billy) were amazing! The drinks were so unique and spectacular and the atmosphere was very cool. We will go there every time we visit Miami!

Kaona room did not disappoint as expected. From the welcome shot of a banana daiquiri that Liz(Daphne) provides. To the father son duo of Daniele and Billy are one of kind. The rum selection is exceptional to say the least. But most importantly the hospitality is something that cannot be replicated. The feeling of being welcomed into one’s home and being ingratiated into one’s family is not of false pretenses. Looking forward to my next trip back to Miami. The first stop will absolutely be Kaona Room.

I adore this place and am so happy that I found it. Its so special in terms of atmosphere - at first glance you don't know what to expect and once you're granted access it feels like you are in a completely different world. The service is thoughtful and elevated. Our server , Billy was knowledgeable and attentive , very friendly. You can tell they take pride in their drinks and the lore and presentation for each makes coming here a fun experience . I wish the music started a little earlier (10:30 pm) but that's just me. I loved the dumpling assortment and the tofu !

This place is a must visit! My husband and I love tiki bars and try new ones everywhere we go. This is at the top of our list! It will be difficult to surpass the service we received last night. Our number one complaint we have with most tiki bars is that the music is usually traditional “club” music, which doesn’t match the tiki vibe. This place however, had the best Hawaiian music, complete with ambient thunder and animal sounds as well! The atmosphere is incredible, but the drinks and the service are even better! Thank you Billy for an amazing evening. We hope to come back to Miami just to visit you and Kaona Room again!

Incredible experience. Staff loved what they did. If you love great drinks, well paired food, awesome service and unmatched atmosphere come here! Aged Mai Tai, Phantom, and the Vicious Virgin are highly recommended. If you love Takoyaki or have never ordered it before treat yourself to the great flavor and texture.

This place is unbelievable. The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect and the atmosphere delightful. The service (Billy) was also worth mentioning. Right now, most restaurants in Miami are average and overpriced. Not the case here!!

The best hospitality I think I’ve ever received at a bar. An authentic intimate tiki bar experience in South Florida with top notch ambience/decor, great drinks and food, and very high level of service with impressive attention to detail and tiki theatrics that take this tiki bar to the next level. The Clarified Zombie was a unique modern take on the classic. The Pearl Diver and Aged Mai Tai were also tasty along with everything else we drank. All drinks were served with fun presentations and plenty of dry ice fog! Order the right drink and you might even get a fire show! Ask them about their signature rum expressions from Holmes Cay and Plantation for unique sippers. For food you can’t go wrong with the assorted dumplings which comes with shrimp, veggie, and pork soup dumplings and the takoyaki. The music was classic exotica for the full tiki experience and at 11pm we got treated to a live jazz trio! Shout out to Daniele and Billy Dalla Pola for the incredible hospitality and thank you for bringing this amazing tiki bar to South Florida! Cheers!

I was celebrating my boyfriends birthday and requested to have a sign or something that said “reserved for a king” they really customized and personalized a note for him. The service and introduction was impeccable and they were so kind and considerate. The owner and Billy and our busser were so kind and you can tell the staff work very well together. The food was delicious and they have an amazing option of drinks. The ambiance of this place was very tropical, calming, and inviting. 100% worth the experience. By far a 10/10 vibe & I will definitely be back.

Incredible vibe at this tiki room that's actually a speakeasy of Esotico in Miami. It was well worth the 4hr drive to experience it. Drinks were amazing, food is really good as well. We had the dumpling platter, Teriyaki Salmon, and Churassco steak bowl, all of which were great. For the true tiki fans, please take the time to walk around the place and take in the Tiki art, woodwork, and artifacts. Also, feel free to enjoy some live jazz towards the end of the night. I was going to post some pics and videos, but don't want to spoil it. Go there and experience it!!

This place transforms you to another world. It is a speakeasy located right next to Esotico, so it might be difficult to find. Ring the doorbell, and they will let you in; it is worth it. Even getting your order of drinks is a spectacle. The place is run by a dad and son, both nice people who provide great service.

Kaona Room is the authentic chill tiki to the Miami dazzle tiki of parent and next-door-neighbor bar Esotico. Kaona Room is a speakeasy in that it's tucked away behind a sliding wall in Esotico and/or a dark street entrance, but I can't tell you how difficult it is to find normally, because we were escorted there by an Esotico hostess after a reservation misunderstanding at that bar. Anyway, Kaona room is very, very tiki, in all the right ways. The ambience is full tiki immersion, with gorgeous decor and mood lighting. Our drinks were very good, with my drink ("The Ghost", a clarified milk Zombie) being the agreed-upon favorite. Our service from Billy was very attentive and patient, especially because my friends were a little out of sorts at ending up in a bar we hadn't planned on going to. Billy is clearly very serious about the science of cocktails, which is always a welcome sign that we're probably in a good bar. Kaona Room is highly recommended to everyone interested in good, thoughtful cocktails and a gorgeous environment (probably an excellent date night bar). It is an absolute MUST visit if you're a tiki bar aficionado.

Awesome place for drinks with friends (or a date to impress) drinks are amazing. live music (good musicians). I would say the main events are the drinks, many to choose from and they are all good. We tried 5 different cocktails and all were great. This is NOT a paid review. The Hawaii ambiance is the best one in Miami. We had a great evening… “if you can’t get to Paradise, they’ll bring it to you” in their hidden tiki bar. Service is excellent… great experience for sure

AMAZING PLACE! I came here yesterday for the first time and I came back today. I have never seen such an amazing place, with great live music and great serving. Our server was Walter, who paid attention to all the details to make our experience much better. I would definitely keep coming back. If you really want to enjoy a cozy and jazz vibe this is definitely the place. I would recommend 100%. 10 out of 10.
