I need to take a moment to recognize this amazing restaurant. I’ve been coming to this place since the day it opened and let me tell you I have never been disappointed. Every single time my husband and I come we are greeted with the friendliest staff. Everyone is just so nice and is always happy to talk to you. The staff does an amazing job helping each other and making sure all customers are well taken care of. There is always at least 2 managers on duty at all times and they are always walking around checking on their servers and customers. It’s so refreshing to see this in a restaurant because a lot of places you go to you don’t EVER see the manager. Our server is normally Indy and she is just the BEST. She is always so kind and does a great job making us feel welcome. The food is always 10/10. So much flavor and good portion sizes. The sushi is so fresh and yummy!! This place is never packed solid which is so nice because there is always a table to sit at and the atmosphere is just perfect with the music and lighting. I highly recommend this restaurant. ❤️

This place was fantastic. One of the best sushi places I’ve been to in America so far and I’ve been to quite a few on the East and West coasts of the United States.

Such a great hole in the wall. We have ordered take out and dined in a few times, and always have a fabulous experience. The sushi is fresh and flavorful, the fried apps are delicate and a true tempura fry, and the service is wonderful. Also…one of the absolute best happy hours you could ask for!!

Best Sushi place in The Woodlands area!

Went to this place on a whim and definitely wasn’t disappointed! My girl got the sugar daddy, unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of that but it was awesome!, and I ordered the 1488 and the ocean roll. They were so good and fresh. I highly recommend this place if you live sushi. I didn’t try anything else however I definitely will since we moved here.

Delicious. Im a sushi connoscier and this is at least in the top 10 of within 25 miles of The Woodlands.

We keep coming back to this place! They have a unique assortment of specialty rolls, the sushi is great, but they also have a wonderful variety of cooked dishes if you feel like something different or have party members who aren't into sushi.

The server was patient and friendly, he did a great job w/ explaining the menu. My boyfriend and I got a sushi boat and all the sushi on it was delightful, especially the eel! Also the jasmine tea is good.

Ramen with Grilled Pork was amazing. It's more of a braised pork that falls apart and taste great. Got it spicy and it came with plenty of chili oil in it. Chili oil was nice.

Every dish we have tried so far has been spot on. I’ve had the pork ramen twice and the pork was very tender. Other dishes we had were the teriyaki steak bento box and the teriyaki salmon bento box. Both were delicious as well. Prices are more than fair and lower than many others I’ve been to.

Diamond in the rough! Tucked back into the Marcel Commons shopping center, this restaurant is worth seeking out! We started with the appetizer combo! Each item was better than the last! The Texas roll did our state proud! My husband had the pork Ramen. It was MASSIVE! He finished every bite, so I'd say he loved it! The pork fell apart on the fork! The steak hibachi did not disappoint, though I had a hard time deciding between bites of rice, veggies, salad and onion soup because they were all competitively amazing! Gia, our server, was the cherry on the sundae! The manager, Juan, also came out to check on us a couple of times during our lunch visit on the patio! Will be returning multiple times! Brava, Kyu!

My family loved celebrating Lunar New Year and my birthday here. A lovely place and everything was delicious! Our server, Eric, was fantastic- as we just kept ordering more Dim Sum- it was SO good. We lived in Shanghai for one year and this was a beautiful reminder of that special time. Thank you to the whole sweet team.

This was our 3rd time here. Once dining in and 2nd time carrying out. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Our tab tonight was well over $130, including tip – yes, I tip on carryout too! Teriyaki steak bento and Hibachi steak – both ordered medium rare. Both were like dry leather and well done – so disappointing and second time this happened. Orange chicken and General’s chicken dinners were good and kids’ noodles were fine. I called and let them know – they could seriously care less. Too many other great Japanese options to keep returning. Chi or Wasabi Bistro moving forward.

Oh, my goodness, ever heard of an oasis in a desert? This not just some sushi bar. It's an authentic classical Japanese restaurant. You'd be hard pressed to find this kind of menu in any great city, to find it on the way to a job in what I thought was the middle of nowhere made my day. Y'all locals better celebrate this place!

My wife and I stopped here while visiting Egypt. I saw that they had baked squid and I instantly wanted to try it. Everything we tasted was fantastic the pumpkin orange chicken was amazing while the flavor for the a squid was something on another level and when I say that I mean amazing! Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area.

My husband is a world traveler and a sushi lover. Me not so much. However....I will eat sushi at this restaurant. This is one of two sushi places I will actually eat sushi at. This place has amazing food every time we go. I am thankful my husband knows what to order, because I would have no idea looking at the menu alone. Here is what we have tried and loved: Lychee himachi, tuna tartar, chicken and steak yakatori, white tuna sushi (my fav), yellow tuna sushi, albacore tuna sushi, eel sushi, orange pumpkin chicken....all wonderful. The lychee martini is yum. I also love that they have espresso for after my meal. I will miss Gabby, the server we usually visit, but Gun will take excellent care of you on Tuesdays. I enjoyed her smile, yesterday, as she took great care of us. I will get pics next time. I was too excited about eating the fantastic food to even think about it.

It was our second family visit, and my seven-year-old granddaughters birthday. The food was, as before, top notch, mostly sushi rolls, with rice and egg rolls. We love their sauces! After the meal, we knew they were bringing cake for the birthday girl. What we did not know is that would arrive with a big bass drum and three singers! We had a wonderful time, can't wait to go back.

BEST unagi we’ve ever had! The sashimi is super fresh, service was awesome and for the smokers out there, they have a patio! Definitely give uni sushi a run for their money.

I didn't like how the server pushed the specials. There is pushing then being pushy. The menu is extensive and took us over half an hour to read through it all. I had concerns that if was too big and about quality being an issue. I felt they have something that could be great if they would focus on a few popular dishes and do them well. Our waiter looked to be in his 20's and boasted he made some picture on a laminated piece of paper. He claimed he had been a chef for over 18 years. However, he was dressed as a waiter. The laminated picture also has no prices and all food photos looked unappetizing. The glass of wine I had tasted very old. The shrimp tempura was good as were the wontons. Overall experience was meh and there are other places in the area that have a more exciting menu that does not take half an hour to go over.

The food quality seems OK. My dish had a nice sized scallop, which surprised me but the service and ambience is lacking. The choice of music is off and the lighting is really bad for a lunch.

My server was really awkward, he didn’t say much and left a lingering sense of awkwardness. The soft shell crab bao had peanut sauce, definitely not expected and I didn’t really like it.

Unaccomodating. Unpleasant loud atmosphere. We weren't allowed to sit in a booth where we would be comfortable. Taking our money somewhere else. We've been here once before, when they first opened, and food was good but overpriced. *nope. Not all booths were taken.

I got grilled pork buns and they were ICE cold. I’m talking like they sat in a refrigerator all day COLD. I am horrified. Not even luke warm, nope. I hope I don’t get sick. I don’t understand why they would send me premade cold buns. 😫

Me and my bf go everywhere looking for fresh salmon and when I tell you this is the best place we’ve ever had! The Sunday roll was so refreshing and their happy hour is full of great items and even happy hour cocktails. Definitely coming back soon! The server and host were so friendly and recommended great options 10/10!

This is a must dine spot! The food here is on point. The bao is fluffy and sweet. The lamb skewers were delicious. The onion soup was not as good as Benihanna, but ohh so close. My son had the chicken ramen and said it was strangely delicious and gobbled it up. I highly recommend this spot.

Great new place serving pretty much everything you want from an Asian kitchen except pho, which is available right next door at Saigon. Huge variety, and the two noodle dishes we tried were both excellent. Maybe not the best in the city but certainly very good and worth returning for. Service was spot on - polite, professional and friendly.

Omg! What a great experience, I was driving through the area and was craving asian food, saw this place literally by turning a left and decided to come back and give it a try, so glad I did, BEST! Wonton soup I ever had in my life, and then comes this special fried rice which in fact was special, flavour, texture, quantity, and quality, AMAZING!!! definitely going to come back and recommend to anybody...

Impeccable sushi, fresh ingredients, and attentive service. Modern ambiance, warm lighting, and knowledgeable staff. A must-visit for sushi lovers! The Toro Nigiri was excellent. The Scallops from Japan were were presented in a exceptional fashion and they were very fresh.

I was really craving sushi and this place delivered to my satisfaction.. food came out in a timely manner hot and fresh I got 2 types of sushi the shaggy dog and the California roll. Also got an order of mixed rice which came with stack chicken shrimp and pork I got the large but it was actually a very big amount so I would go for the small next time.. price was also very responsible. Comfortable and cozy booths and the place was very well decorated.. our waiter was very polite and patient with us especially because I had a hard time deciding what I wanted and once we received our food he would come and check on us constantly to see if we needed anything else. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant more frequently.

The eel is spot on. This japanese bloody Mary was so delicious it had a sweet finish that contrasted the salty and it went so good with the food. My daughter got bento box I was not a big fan of her beef teriyaki skewers but the sushi was great even the basic California was very flavorful and fresh. We will return here to try more stuff.

Kyu sushi is my wife and I’s favorite go-to place for sushi! We have eaten here many times and it never disappoints:) The Nemo roll is my favorite and the fried rice is AMAZING! You really can’t go wrong here.

Um.... I would normally have a photo of the food before I ate it but it was SO good, I ate 6 big rolls in 5 minutes 🤣 we ordered 6 different rolls and all of them exceeded our expectations. The rools tasted fresh, the fish was good and the tempura was delicious. Highly recommend for a sushi bar!

We just found out about the greatness that is Kyu sushi! This may be the best kept secret of top tier sushi in the area. We were served in the most excellent fashion. The sushi rolls we ordered were the spicy hamachi, the Kelly roll, the Shelly roll, and the Crystal roll. I will say they were by far the best rolls we have ever had! I cannot believe people are not tearing down the walls to get into this place and you will be doing your tastebuds, significant others, and yourself a disservice if you do not try this place. -review written by a southern simpleton but is true to his word!

Filled with ravenous hunger, I staggered into Kyu Asian Kitchen at 9 PM. As I exhaustedly motioned for a table, the ambience and scent of the establishment instanly electrified me. Filled with the calmness of the beautiful interior, I decided to splurge on myself. Without hesitation, the kind staff took my large order of a Nitro roll, Osaka roll, Steak ramen, and milk tea boba. The meal came in waves, yet tasted like a syncronized harmony, with the contrasting flavors seeming fighting in a Brazilian Capoeira, with delicacy and balance. Each flavor perfectly paired with the next. My Nitro Roll was perfectly crispy, rich with flavor, and a great balance of Eastern and Western flavors. My Osaka roll was delicately sour, with a hint of tanginess, and the steak ramen was rich with umami flavor and a deep meaty taste contrasted by a sweet hint. Overall all dishes were a 9.7/10, pushed to 10 by the deliciously sweet boba. No Asian restarauant in the Woodlands can match up to this. Strongly recommend. Consider if you’re looking for a delicious meal in a beautiful environment!

Wow this place was very terrible. The water tastes like chlorine/bleach. I ordered a miso soup and it was extremely bitter and had more seaweed than soup. The rolls did not taste fresh and were overly compensated with spices.

I had a wonderful experience with Ms. Belinda. She took care of us in a fast fashion, yet in a manner that also made us felt like there was no real rush. I would come back again for how tasty the food was and also the experience.

Had a date here tonight… and jeez… what a movie… The server Chris gave the best service. I literally couldn’t have asked for a better server on this blind date. Love this place and the options they had for someone like me who doesn't really eat rice. I loved everything I tasted and my husband enjoyed his sushi too. The glass of green tea was amazing. My order of lamb yakitori and garlic edamame was amazing. Service was on point with the server and owners checking on us from time to time although the place was quite filled up.

Great cocktails and happy hour all day long on Sunday! Outdoor covered patio is perfect in cool Weather! We got the Ruby Red and the Mermaid drinks!

Super tasty, stellar service. We have been many times and often get Zully as our server. She is very informative, full of smiles, and always takes good care of us. From the bento boxes to special rolls, you will leave very satisfied and be eager to go back like we are. My favorite is the sushi and sashimi bento where you get some of everything— nigiri, sashimi, and roll and some goodies.

Went to Kyu for there sashimi and went all out to test everything, the list of sashimi plus extra items are as follows: Appetizer combo, smoked salmon, Japanese scallop, yakitori steak, pork & shrimp shumai, steamed bun, charsiu bao, Japanese red snapper, ocean trout, sweet shrimp, hamachi sashimi, fresh salmon, fresh sea bass, ikura sushi, double tuna sashimi, real wasabi and finally steamed rice The real wasabi is a must when you order, it is well worth the $5 instead of the generic wasabi, this is the only place I have found so far that serves it. All of the sashimi I had ordered was brought out in a boat except the double tuna, the steak was so tender it melts in your mouth, i highly recommend kyu if you enjoy sushi or sashimi, plus the rest of the food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was very relaxing and inviting

The best sushi spot around us. We’ve been next door and to two other sushi restaurants around the Conroe/Woodlands area yet we always happily see ourselves coming back here to enjoy great tasting sushi and appetizers.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at this little gem hideaway. Our Tuna Tartar had a sauce so technically, it wasn’t “tartar” but it was so good, we didn’t care. My Spider roll was tasty and my wife’s “Riceless” Sashimi was a fantastic way around deleting rice from the equation. I only gave 4 Stars because I want to go back for more “research” to verify, wink, wink. Looking forward to next time. Craving their Calamari next time!!!

Amazing! Everything was sooo good! So delicious and we ordered apps, entree dessert and drinks and it was $60 which is not bad at all for two ppl! Our server was Val and she was amazing. Deff recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a nice place. The restaurant was nice inside and clean. Let talk food, the Dumplings, Steam Buns, Chicken Katsu Bento were good. The shrimp fried rice was ok. The Shumai was the reason I gave 3 stars. It wasn't for me or my daughter. It didn't taste good at all

This is definitely one of my favorite Sushi places in Houston. The food is outstanding, I ordered the Nabeyaki Udon, the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, our waiter,Daniel, was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning to Kyu in the near future and recommend it too anyone willing to give it a try.

We are regulars here. It's our favorite Japanese restaurant in the woodlands. Our favorite rolls are orange dragon, New York, white dragon and Houston. The kids menu has chicken nuggets that they make fresh when you order and fries. My toddler also likes the chicken udon soup with chicken breast and the bento boxes. It's a win win for the kids and adults. Seriously the best sushi in the woodlands!

Super tasty and nice looking, got the Grilled Pork Ramen and it was absolutely delicious. Our waiter Daniel very cool and treated us well. I will definitely be coming back!

We ordered two suchi rolls, popcorn chicken, and combination stir fried rice. All dishes look nice and taste delicious. Great ambience, but prices are very reasonable. The chef came out to talk to us, and told us how they put time and effort to prepare the raw materials and cook the food. Glad we chose this place and will definitely come back again to try some of the other dishes. Would recommend to anyone who want to try good Asian food!

My family and I like to eat Japanese food. But Kyu restaurant was very disappointing to us. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered streak-medium rare bento box - steak was very raw and tasted old. We also had ordered Steak Ramen - the whole dish smelled very gamey or something like the whole thing was made out of some other odd type of meat not beef..it was not a very good smell - had to return it. We also ordered a sashimi dish cost $30.00 and the most expensive and poor quality fish we ever had. There were only 3 slices of salmon, 3 slices of red tuna, and paper thin white type of fish - we can't even tell what it was, it was so thin it was see through...price over all was high and quality was very poor. Will not be going back here.

This is our go to Sushi restaurant, we love it! We haven't been disappointed yet! Calamari is delicious, I like pointing to random rolls /sushi on the menu and trying something new, well over 10 trips. We were especially happy with the service we received tonight from Val, 8/5/22, definitely the best service we've had there so far. Will definitely be ask for her from now on.

I found this place by accident.. best accident I ever done. Nice looking inside , service is great but the food is even better. Tommy was my server and he knows his menu very well. He convinced me to try something new and I loved it... they it and you won't be disappointed....

Late night happy hour from 9pm-close. $5 drinks and $7 rolls! I recommend the snow crab roll, Sunday roll, and shaggy dog roll. So good! Glad we found this place.

We visited tonight for happy hour and had a great time. This isn’t our first time here but each time we have something different. Tonight it was shrimp and rice for the kid and Shrimp Tempura and Crystal rolls for us. We always have the Crab Wontons which I believe to be the best in the area. Great prices for the food you receive. We will be back!

I ordered the chicken fried rice and miso soup. The food was well seasoned! Both times I’ve gotten this order, my soup’s temperature hasn’t been hot enough personally. I was having issues with another restaurant’s fried rice so i am glad I found this place!! Definitely will be back!

What a sweet, sweet family that runs this place. The owners (I think they’re the owners) are very attentive to every table. The staff is super friendly and they compliment the restaurant and the food often throughout the meal, which seemed a little odd at first, but they were just so happy that I really enjoyed talking with them. We had steamed buns, crunch roll, kyu roll, sushi B plate, and ramen. Everything was delicious. They brought out our child’s food first. I love when restaurants think of that. We’ll be going back.
