Definitely recommend the garlic shrimp with beans and spinach. Service was a bit slow.

The happy hour prices and food quality are unbelievable. Got 3 appetizers and 1 drink . Apps were 8 dollars each and the drink was 7. One of the best meals I ever had and the price is unbeatable.

It is the second time I come to this place and the food is truly delicious, I enjoy every bite, the bread, their oils, the drinks, everything is very very good, and the guys who served us were incredible, I loved them

We have been wanting to try this spot for months and it did not disappoint. We went for their happy hour which is INCREDIBLE deals! Shoutout to our bartender Mike as well who was attentive and extremely enjoyable to talk to who made recommendations on both the happy hour and full menu. We will be back! Make sure you plan your visit if coming for happy hour as it can get slammed!

We’ve eaten here many times in the past . The food was always wonderful. We started with several appetizers and nothing was what we expected. We left a lot of food on our plates the bartenders never even asked if there was anything wrong with it. We don’t like to complain or write reviews but you guys dropped the ball on this one.

Ordered the $40.00 crab cake entree for dinner and it was mostly breadcrumbs with little pieces of crab. Very disappointing

I booked an event package couple of weeks ago for 17 people. The lady that was helping us out Diane lacks people skills. She was somewhat rude, gave an attitude, and seems as she does not like her job. If not for my husband and the fact that we were in a time crunch I would cancel my big reservation due to such difficulty dealing with Diane. I wanted to say that we truly loved the food and our waiters were awesome, however I believe that someone like Diane should either change her attitude and be more pleasant or not work with people, as working in a restaurant means loving people and her attitude was totally opposite. It's not even that she had a bad day because we met with her in person on one occasion and then spoke with her over the phone twice.

Today for my dinner I had, BRANZINO Fresh Mediterranean Sea Bass filet grilled, served with roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus, finished with fresh herbs and extra virgin olive oil lemon garlic sauce I paid $42.00 for the dish;) Very tasty!!!! Thank you.

The food was good, but the server was not. He forgot one of my orders and rarely came to our table. I have to ask another server to get my check.

Sal and team were informative and attentive. Began with a martini and a limoncello spritz…made perfectly. Eggplant rollitini appetizer was delicious (should have ordered two!). Salmon stuffed with crabmeat had a nice portion of spinach and potato wedges. Shrimp scampi was the best I have ever had. The sauce was on the thicker side and absolutely delicious. Portions were big and worth the prices. Compliments to the chef and bartender and Sal for recommendations. Also the restaurant is on beach side with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating +2 bars! YUM!

Excellent experience all around. Our server Clayton was top notch! Billy's seafood risotto was off the charts good (and huge). The bread starter with garlic infused olive oil was so good, I would drink it straight

Awesome food and large portions, with a beautiful beach view. Michael our server was incredible, some of the best service I have ever had and he was super sweet to our little one.

Has a fantastic dinner. Food was sublime. Pesto fettuccine with artichoke; scallops with prosciutto and butternut squash. Only downside was cocktails that were so strong we didn't enjoy them.

Was here recently for a birthday. Our waiter was nice but rarely came around and not the sharpest tool in the shed. We had sandwiches, a few apps, no alcohol, and it still took over an hour to get our food. The food was excellent but waiting an hour for simple dishes is unacceptable. Unfortunately the quality of the food can't make up for the bad service and the ridiculous wait time. Either they need to hire more staff, or at least more attentive competent staff before we will return.

Severe fly activity in dining areas made the experience less pleasant than was expected.Windows were covered in outdoor and indoor dining areas. Need to clean windows and install flying insect lights to trap insects.

Worst meal in a long time. Gloppy cheese covering what was supposed to be prosciutto on chicken and eggplant but looked like thick slices of ham. Would not recommend. Expensive inedible dinner.

Food was just average. Was excited about the Chilean Seabass, but it disappointed me because it was served cold and not much taste. No flavor of truffle at all. My wife had a mixed seafood dish on pasta and it was just OK. At least it was hot!

We made Easter Sunday Reservations over a month ago, for 4 pm. When we showed up they originally said they didn't have us on the list and we did not make a reservation. I informed them I made a reservation for 4pm (we have two young kids that go to bed by 630. The line was out the door with other people who have reservations, no where to sit. A nightmare with toddlers. They found my reservation under an incorrect number, with the wrong time. They told us there were 20 people ahead of us and we'd have to wait since our listed time was 5:00. We ended up leaving because the FOH staff was insincere, and unapologetic. Apparently other people had the same issue.

Perfect lunch spot. But then again perfect anytime spot. This was the second time we had the pleasure of dining here and it is by far the best place with a view of the water and also an amazing environment for a family to have dinner together. Highly recommend it anytime you're in town or also highly recommend it if you're in a neighboring town and just don't want to be disappointed by other places!

Very over priced for mediocre taste and quality. Many more options close by that offer better food. Service is rushed and impersonal. Try Brando’s, Nettie’s, Skratch. This is a waste of money.

The view if you get seated by the front is beautiful. Service nor food is that great. Hard to get Italian food wrong but it’s possible. Price does not equal quality.

Very roudy today in the restaurant. Belmar had their St. Patrick’s day parade and I guess lots of people flocked there for dinner under the influence….too loud! There is no such thing as fine dining anymore, I don’t think it exists! As far as the menu, I wanted to get the Capesante Crostate ( day boat scallios) but the price is now $45. That’s just unreasonable for scallops!! I decided on the Orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe and I was disappointed. Prices have gone up and quality is down with most restaurants today. I’m a foodie and I love to cook but sometimes I need a break however I feel like it’s not worth going out because I know I can make a lot of these dishes better!

The place had amazing ocean views, and the food was just fantastic! Mike, our waiter, was top-notch, and the hostess was really nice. Can't wait to come back for round two!

We basically were asked to pay up fast so the staff could leave. We had an 8:00 reservation and food doesn’t come immediately but they were ready to kick us out by 9:30. Food was delicious. Just didn’t understand the rush as no one was waiting for our table at that point. Would recommend to a friend but not to go on holidays. We went for valentines. It was disappointing.

My friends and I had a lovely dinner experience. We go quite often. I don’t remember our server’s name, but the young man was wonderful and I hope we see him again on our next visit.

Was stuck in back room eve. Though I had a reservation. Food and service was good.

Have been to LaDolceVita on numerous occasions, but tonight was the absolute best! Since it is Wednesday and bottled wine is 1/2 price, we ordered a bottle of Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc. A crisp taste that enhanced the best bread. We shared an appetizer of calamari and shrimp that was seasoned to perfection. For our entrée, we shared the Pistachio crusted Chilean Sea Bass. Every mouthful was magical. My friend and I dine out frequently, but La Dolce Vita never disappoints and only gets better! Looking forward to our next outing!

Our waiter was efficient, attentive, and pleasant. The lunch special price is very good, however, we ordered from the regular menu. Had a window table looking out at the boardwalk and ocean. \ It was an enjoyable afternoon

The food is always very good. Service can be slow at times and when busy the restaurant is noisy. But it is worth the visit.

My recent dinner was excellent, as was the service. The person I was having dinner with finished their plate. I took so much home, because the portions were large, I had another dinner . Excellent.

We are frequent diners at La Dolce Vita, and have never had a bad experience! This time - we were placed in the front glassed in area with several large groups that were clearly having a great time celebrating - they were literally shouting at each other from one end of the table to another - it sounded like an elementary school cafeteria where shouting promotes even more shouting until my dining partner and I couldn’t hear or talk to each other. We sadly gave up trying. Suggestion to management - strive to avoid seating a couple with large groups - we saw there were plenty of other seating options - we just didn’t realize it until it was too late to move. Michael is a great waiter - we’ll request him every time going forward!

Still a good place to eat after so many years but I find that the food is not as good. They compensate for lower quality with huge portions. I would prefer smaller plates made with more care.

Service was excellent we had a 7:30 reservation seated by 7 45 on a very busy Saturday night. Disappointed in my meal veal saltumbucco the veal was covered in Hugh glob of mozzarella could not find the veal to taste it Hugh pile of mashed potatoes felt like I was at the diner

We entered and told them we had a reservation on Open Table and were ignored. We were told they had a party and seating was going to be difficult. We were seated and put in a remoted area for lunch. Food was good as was service.

When we ordered a bottle of wine, the Werbel didn’t even ask us if we wanted to taste it and proceeded to pour almost a full glass. Food was OK but the last time I was there I had the pork chop and it was a nice inch and a half this was barely I have an inch.

Delicious cocktail, mussels with white wine appetizer and pistachio sea bass entree both worth special mention. Will definitely recommend and return.

Went there for our third Christmas Eve. Dinner. We had a 630 reservation we not set until 7:45. The place was completely chaotic and out of control I will never spend another holiday there.

1/2 price wine bottle night and best Italian food we all had in awhile. Great aps and entrees.

Food is great, atmosphere is fantastic but the hostess has a nasty disposition. Ruined the entire dining experience with the attitude she projects on to the paying customers. Would have given this place 5 stars if the hostess was a semi decent person.

Had a reservation on Christmas Eve - left after being told we would have to wait at least 45 minutes beyond the original reservation time. Poor planning, folks!

I made a reservation for Christmas Eve in November. When we arrived at 7 for our seating. We were told they were running behind and were just seating 6 o ‘clock reservations. The restaurant was mobbed, no room anywhere to stand, could not get in the foyer, could not get in the bar. Wait time was over an hour after they put your name on another list. To say the over booked was an understatement. Total disregard for their customers. And to say that there were many unhappy diners does not even begin to say how awful it was!! Will definitely not return.

Unfortunately it was a bad experience. We had 7 pm reservations for Christmas Eve. We were not seated until 8. For a restaurant this much experience it was inexcusable. The staff tried hard but it was an unpleasant experience, too many tables squeezed in, people on top of each other. The food was fine, not as good as other times we have been there. Sadly, don’t know if I will return.

Overall was very good, due to holiday... noise level high and very crowded to make room for next seating around us.

La Dolce Vita never disappoints. The food and cocktails are always over the top delicious and the service is beyond compare. We always sit in Matteo’s section and he treats us like family. Definitely recommend this establishment.

Great food and service on a busy Thursday night before Christmas weekend.

Everything was delicious and awesome service by our waiter and bussers. $8 Tito’s Tuesdays for mixed drinks and martinis was great too. Party of 7 and everyone enjoyed their meal. Dessert is a must and tasted homemade, the carrot cake was the best carrot cake we all ever had.

The hostess who greeted us was very rude. We made our reservation and included that we have a service dog (not a therapy dog) and when we arrived the first words out of her mouth were "that dog better be well behaved" and then when the hostess when to seat us in the dining room, the lady said "oh no! you're not seating that dog in the dining room. put them on the patio." And she waved us away with an exasperated sigh and a roll of her eyes. Our server, in contrast, was amazing and the food was very good. The patio was where we preferred to sit, but she made us feel like outcasts and like we were banished to the patio. I let her know when we left that she needs to educate herself on service dogs and told her she was welcome for my husband's service so that she can live the life she lives in this country. She had no idea what she did, which is even more sad. Service dogs provide a grounding for those who need them and they are well trained and better than most people. They are not rude and don't get drunk or disorderly. They are not pets. They are working dogs. Other than her false sense of power, La Dolce Vita was a fine experience with good My husband and I have years of experience in the restaurant industry and are spoiled with excellent restaurants, so we know outstanding food and service. My only suggestion is for you to get a kinder, wiser, more people-oriented person to greet guests and be the face of your establishment because she can ruin appetites.

Service was amazing. Food was great. I wouldn’t say it’s was amazingly delicious! It was okay! Definitely not worth the price but it was a good time with the family! The drinks were amazing!

Dined here with another couple on a Friday night. Was beautifully decorated for the holidays and got us into the holiday spirit. All of our meals (pasta dishes and fish dishes) were delicious, service was excellent. This was the first time visiting for the other couple and they were very happy with everything. We’ve dined here a number of times and have never been disappointed.

$17 for a glass of Santa Margarita wine is outrageous!!!! Adding a 3.75% credit card fee before asking customer if paying with credit card is outrageous. Veal chop parmesan$44.95 was enough for 3 people and should be advertised as such. Who wants to eat a mediocre dish more than once. Sorry , but very disappointed this time. Saving grace was the waiter, Ryan who was excellent!!!!

The branzino is our favorite dinner. The stuffed artichoke was delicious and large enough to share. Disappointed In our table being in the middle of room and wobbled.Our waiter was not attentive and told us he was not allowed to level our table and we would have to do it ourselves and brought us 2 cloth napkins to do so. Obviously we did not do it ourselves. When we left I mentioned it to the hostess who was very upset by his statement.

La Dolce never disappoints. Pleasant greeting by hostess, prompt seating, great wait staff and delicious food (pesto burrata, stuffed salmon, eggplant tower, best bread) and wine (baby Amorone). What more does one need? La Dolce a great gem at the Jersey Shore!

Excellent food and service by Matteo! Sea food entrees we’re delicious, especially the shrimp scampi with risotto! Seafood appetizer was excellent. White sangria was a perfect accompaniment!

We had been wanting to check out La Dolce Vita since we moved to Belmar. We had heard pretty good things about it as a local spot. The Billy’s Seafood Risotto, which is a house favorite, was just okay. It was overly heavy on the sauce, which drowned out the flavor of the risotto and each of the seafood in the dish. This turned the risotto into a bit of a mush. Nothing but the sauce was flavor-forward in the dish. My wife had the branzino. It was bland and full of bones (expected), and the potatoes were also bland and undercooked. The place still had a great feel, and the tiramisu dessert was quite good, but the whipped cream seemed like out of a can and not made fresh. We would try it again, though.

The food and service we excellent. The pecan pie was amazing!

This was the best Italian food I've had in a long time, I had the rigatoni bolognese and pasta fagioli and my mother requested a special order of linguini puttanesca which they were kind enough to make since they had the ingredients on hand. All of the food was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful with very generous portions. The wait staff were highly attentive and friendly, and the holiday atmosphere made it a very cozy experience.

First time there in many years. Water Mateo was very attentive. It was Restaurant week but we stayed with main menu besides Artichoke appetizer. It was not th e same as pictured on website as well as pricing was not updated on site. overall food was very good.

This lovely restaurant is open year-round even though it is in a beach town at the Jersey Shore where many restaurants are seasonal. The food is good and the service prompt. There are several rooms, some noisier than others.

This restaurant serves wonderful food, friendly service and a nice time. Never disappoints.

I love this place however I saw a waitress put a straw in a espresso martini and taste it. She put her thumb on it and sucked whatever came out of the bottom. Didn’t put it back however that’s not cool at all. Talk to your waitresses.
