always tasty and quality food. i usually feel weird after eating desserts but this place makes their food so good that i never feel uncomfortable after eating their stuff. theyre fast and fresh, so i always recommend!! go here if you need good, tasty, and healthy desserts, this is your place to go.

The best bakery around. French cakes, pastries, baguettes, and quiche are all phenomenal. One of the things we look forward to most whenever we are back in Pittsburgh (even while living in Europe).

I love their éclairs, I can't eat éclairs anywhere else in pittsburgh! They have fresh pastry everyday, they have quiche and sandwiches for lunch which are simple but very delicious. My favorites are of course éclairs, spinach&cheese quiche, croissant and cheese&turkey sandwich in a baguette bread. The location in Mt Lebanon have parking for 3 4 cars but the one in downtown doesn't have a parking spot. You will have to find street parking which is a pain in downtown to be honest so I prefer to stop by in Mt Lebanon location whenever I can.

All our birthday cakes are usually ordered from this bakery, and we’ve loved them all! However, this time we were sorely disappointed. We picked up our cake on the day we scheduled for pickup, but the Frasier cake tasted and looked days old. It was soggy, and the strawberries were not fresh at all. So disappointed! Will be rethinking our decision to order from this bakery location again.

I’ve been to most of the locations in the area and the food is ALWAYS stellar. Sandwiches, croissants, and especially the pastries. The service is amazing and clearly the demand is there (most sandwiches are gone by 12 on busy days). There is not much space to eat in but it is very atmospheric! The parking situation and cost may be a deal breaker for some (if bringing family everyone will want a sandwich and a pastry which can get pricy), but it has been entirely worth it to me every time.

I have been coming to this bakery for a year and the old staff were always so kind. Recently I went in and they had young girls working who don’t care and then an old blonde hag who is miserable and mean. I asked for a quiche heated they made me wait for 15 mins and handed me a slice. I asked her four times to confirm that I wanted a whole quiche but being an incompetent worker she failed to take a simple order. Which is why she’s failing in life. Then the “owner” gave me attitude which is beyond me. I am a business owner and a healthcare provider and would never treat anyone the way I was treated. The French are jerks and this was confirmation. The owner. Not a good owner to treat a long standing customer like this. I won’t be ever going back and will never have a nice thing to say about that place again. Oh and your customer who left gratuity def looked like she was your award winning customer if you know what I mean. Good job sending her to the hospital I’ll be sure to take extra care of her.

Just beautiful, better than candy land

Not sure what to say, the desserts were somewhat sweet but i would say it tasted more like butter than cream. Croissants were delicious, but would recommend to work on pistachio filling, it barely tastes like pistachio. Reasonable price maybe

AmazIng chocolate mousse cake for my son.

The pastries were delicious, the customer service is a different story. We weren't offered any drinks, they assumed we were taking the pastries to go, so they were in a hurry to put them on plates.Once we paid and sat down, we were basically ignored.

Everything is fabulous! Quiches, sandwiches, even the French flatbread (my favorite) were so fresh. The options for pastries is hard to narrow down as we loved them all

I love them so much. Staple for us, especially the ham sandwiches. Trust me, they are heaven.

The pastries were all beautiful and delicious. I ordered the macaron, tarte aux framboises, marquise and paris-brest. The macaron was the most delicious. The macaron was chewy and sweet, lychee cream was so rich and the berries gave it such a fresh flavor. Loved it! The tarte wasn't too sweet with fresh raspberries. It had a nice almond flavor and the light dusting of powdered sugar on top looks so pretty! The marquise was tasty until I found a hair in it, yuck! Maybe the ladies in the front should wear hats or hairnets even though they are not making the pastries themselves. The paris-brest was the least sweet one. It was very light and fluffy with a nice almond flavor. The service was fast and the lady ringing me out was friendly and smiling! Also online ordering is super easy. I picked up a birthday cake from there for the first time it was so pretty and tasted amazing. The parfait cake is a good choice if you love rich chocolate mousse.

I lived in Paris for a year and missed authentic croissants and sandwiches. This place has both. Their baguettes are amazing and the prices are so reasonable especially for the quality. They have a pastry and drink specials for under 5 bucks. It's so nice to have a place like this in Pittsburgh. There are multiple locations also.

I'd be 500 pounds if this was closer to my house. The option to order ahead is great. We got some baguettes, with bacon and cheese and without, chocolate pastries, raspberry lemon macrons, eclairs, and a chocolate mouse dessert. Every single thing was delicious. The cost for the quality and amount was more than fair. Only complaint was the parking lot was packed and small. I understand why, though.

There’s stuff is delicious however, I’ve stopped in twice to get a sandwich at approximately 2 PM and they have nothing on the shelf..

Amazing selection in a very cute shop. There was a line to even get in the door, but it was worth the wait. They even had 2 wheat-free items. Absolutely delicious.

Best bakery in America (well, true for my not insignificant sample size).

The brioche bostock, gourmandise and coffee (which I had black , which I only do when the coffee is excellent and not needing cream were all exceptional. Service and dining area also were nice. Bathroom was clean.

The best French bakery I’ve been to in years! Always worth the stop. Items are in French but if you head to their website beforehand it gives you a description of what it is if you’re interested. Their bread is so good. Their turkey sandwich for lunch, and honestly anything in there is SO good.

We had an almond croissant, gourmandise, and a slice of quiche Lorraine. All were outstanding!! We got a few treats for later too. The line out the door was worth the wait. The staff was friendly and gave us tips for at home reheating. Could have ordered one of everything! Next time, I’d like to get a lunch sandwich.

I love La Gourmandine and look forward to their incredible pastries when I want to treat myself. When I ordered the pain au chocolate this week I was disappointed. Very little chocolate in this one which is not their normal preparation. I hope this was an exception and not their 'new normal' :(

LOVE La Gourmandine. The sandwiches on fresh baguettes are incomparable flavor-wise to anything. Something about the one with little gherkins and prosciutto on the buttered baguette has me facing cravings regularly.

Closest thing to Paris I have found in the US. Outstanding pastries! Go early for the best selection. Everything is delicious!! Service is great. Have been going here for years. We moved out of state and it’s our first stop when back in the Burgh!

Absolutely amazing food! We purchased caprese and Parisian sandwiches, an eclair, and key lime tarts. Everything looked gorgeous, but the flavors were perfection. Do not miss a chance to eat here, and order in advance if you can (the sandwiches go fast!)

Amazing pastries! Really worth a visit

Great cakes. We're ordered several cakes for family birthdays, all good.

They were very nice to let us in right at closing time; they close in the middle of the afternoon, which I didn’t expect. Kids enjoyed eclairs as an afternoon treat. They are exquisite!

Usually everything here is so tasty, but I got a callifutti that was not pleasant. Barely any fruit with it and texture felt like brie. The macaroon was tasty. Paid $4.95 for each. I will continue to go to this bakery as it is usually decadent and so tasty. Just a bad selection.

Always delicious. The baguette is always perfect, and croissant amandes is a breakfast dream come true. The sandwiches are so underrated, I could eat one everyday (though I probably shouldn’t). After all of that their case of pastries will hypnotize and make you contemplate the perks of renting an apartment around the corner. They are found all around the city.

Great selection of pastries. Kiddos love the chocolate “cwossant”! Very Parisian vibe. Kiddos have been excited to go back. Haha. Awesome soup and quiche. Quick meal for a dad on the go.

Loved the almond croissant at this place. We took that and a chocolate eclair, a macaroon, and a chocolate croissant all to go. Everything was excellent. Mainly on the chocolate croissant... It had like almond flavoring infused throughout the croissant... And not just some icing added on top. It was SO good. But props to my friend that gave us this recommendation. Thanks!

La Gourmandine is a French Bakery, that has expanded from its beginnings in Lawrenceville, to multiple locations around Pittsburgh. When they first opened, you would have to wait in long lines, early in the morning, in hopes of getting your favorite pastry! This location is a bit smaller, but quaint, and full of many selections. The quality, taste, and presentation of their pastries and bread products are excellent. Never have I made a poor choice stopping here for a treat or something to bring as a gift. The prices are a tad bit higher than your average bakery, but you are definitely receiving quality in return. I would highly recommend the Clafoutis.

This French bakery has a few locations in the Pittsburgh area. I recently visited this location in Mount Lebanon for the first time. I felt thankful that the lines of customers were not too long on a Saturday. The employees spoke nicely to me, and they carefully packaged the pastries that I selected. My husband and I bought two boxes of pastries, and we ate all of them in one day. I like fruity foods, so my favorite pastries were the tarte and the macaron. All of the pastries were very fresh and very flavorful. The prices were reasonable at a few dollars per pastry. Now I feel interested in trying out the other locations of La Gourmandine, and I hope that someday a location opens in the North Hills.

This was a hidden gem my boyfriend and I discovered. I am very happy. This is a little piece of Paris in Pittsburgh. Staff knows each baked good and is very friendly. Each pastry has a beautiful clean finish. We eat with our eyes first and I can say I was hungry the moment I walked in. We bought lots of treats but I only have a few pictures. I live 45 minutes away but this is definitely a place I will be back to in the future.

Wow!! This is without a doubt the best French bakery I have ever been to (including in Paris itself). The chocolate almond croissant is absolutely amazing, I can’t get enough of La Gourmandine. I have been to most of their locations around Pittsburgh and this one definitely has a slight edge over the others. It doesn’t have much seating, but eat it there, take it home, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
