This is the last remaining Cajun Dance Hall in Acadiana. There's lots of tables, great service and a super nice dance floor! I'm not sure why Google) thinks they serve food.

I, Carlos Webb & Cyndi Vincent-Fawvor danced to the GOOD music that band, the 4 HORSES provided. We enjoyed the Good gumbo, potato salad & cakes. Everyone was nice & friendly. Lots of QUEENS of all ages & different towns to see. Smoke-free, enjoyed everything. Bartenders were friendly, Great & busy. THANKS TO Luther Arceneaux for inviting us.

Completely authentic Cajun dancehall. The folks dancing have been coming here for 50 years or more. Several locals showed us dance steps and cheered us on for trying to keep up with them. The bartender even gave us beer coozies when she saw us trying to make one out of a napkin lol. Super friendly staff, amazing locals, great air conditioning, and the feeling that you've stepped back in time to a happier place. This is a true treasure of an experience that we'll never forget. Wonderful music and friendly conversation

It's an awesome place for live Cajun music and dancing. I don't know why I didn't know about this place sooner. It's like finding a hidden gem.

I went to check on tickets for an upcoming show and was greated at the door by a lovely lady who was super sweet. She advised me that tickets can be purchased at the time of the event and would make accommodations for 2. I didn't stay but looked like everyone was having a great Sunday afternoon. Will definitely be back to purchase my WT tickets in a few weeks!

History of Canjun music was everywhere. Ample seating as well as a huge dance floor. Friendly people and good drinks. The music was great !

A fun dance hall where everyone is friendly and wanting to dance!

This just isn't a bar. It is a genuine, old fashioned Cajun Dance hall. La Poussiere is Cajun for "The Dust" because the wooden dance floor kicks up dust when it is danced on. In old dance halls they sprinkle a special dust on the floor so shoes will slide better on it. The drinks there are cheap and generous. The BEST thing about La Poussiere is they have monthly CAJUN FRENCH MUSIC ASSOCIATION meetings with pot luck and music. The CFMA mettings start at 7PM every first Thursday of nearly every month. They have a pot luck every meeting and floor prizes, cake walk and Cajun music for two hours after the meeting and drawings end. Visitors can enter for free and eat for free. By your third visit though, they expect you to pay the $20 annual dues and bring something for pot luck. ANYBODY can join, you do not have to be a musician. The purpose of CFMA is to support Cajun music and Cajun culture. People come from all over the world to experience this wonderful music, culture and food. There is no place on EARTH that is a better bargain for a Cajun night on the town. Kids are allowed and encourages to come. They just love the dancing and the large assortment of sweets at the pot luck. The gentle, old Cajuns take great delight in encouraging and seeing the kids dance. La POussiere has music on Saturdays and Sundays and you have to pay an admission of $5 to $10 to get in, depending on the band.
