Great environment! Delicious food

I decided to switch up my usual routine and visit this cafe/restaurant in maplewood. safe to say I made a great choice, from the spacious layout to the quality customer service 😜! I didn’t know they converted into a restaurant after about 11am, so I decided to get some lunch while I was there and again, they did not disappoint. i’d definitely come here again with friends/family; there is a parking lot in the back but spaces are limited so if it’s full you’ll have to find street parking. my only complaint would be that there aren’t a lot of plugs to charge your devices, but i guess it’s intentional 🤷🏾‍♀️

Loved the breads there. Great sandwiches. Pizza is good too. Service was a tad slow and forgot my coffee but overall loved the new ambience and atmosphere with the wooden modern feel. Good food for sure.

Annoyed...website states they close at 4. Arrived at 330 and was told kitchen closes at 230..wasted trip and gas

Excellent flakey croissants. Disappointed no avocado toast or breakfast sandwiches. Good espresso roast.

I try to visit this place anytime I am in New Jersey. NYC quality bakery in NJ. That’s pretty hard to find in my experience. The price is right for how high quality everything is. Staff is always friendly, the place is always clean, and in the new location at Artie’s it was fun to see the place go from breakfast to lunch service and not feel rushed out. I’ll be back, I always am.

It is located in Artie's. The restaurant is spacious with a large parking lot in the back. Their pastries look tempting with multiple choices. We got an almond croissant, which was yummy. There are a few outdoor cafe tables to enjoy the peaceful vibe with coffee and pastries.

Awesome bread at affordable prices

This place has fantastic food and coffee. I had the organic avocado sandwich that came paired with a side of green olives and it was delicious! The iced latte was smooth and tasty as well. Really looking forward to trying other items on the menu. Biggest downside is that it closes at 2:30pm which I thought was very early. Unfortunately was turned away the first time we went because they stopped serving their lunch menu (biggest part of their business) when they used to be open until 4pm at their previous location. Doesn’t quite make sense to stop serving so early when the restaurant is still open serving other items.

I usually love the bread stand because the food is amazing. My only issue with the new location is that some of the workers are rude and have no sense of urgency when it’s busy.

They moved a couple blocks away into the same space as Artie’s. Same incredible bread, croissants and pastries as before. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Ok, so after some digging prompted by the owner’s response, it looks like Arturo’s in downtown is closing and they are reopening in a new location at 15 Newark Way, which is where the new Bread Stand will be. Its called “Artie’s” on Google maps, and still shows photos of the old location, but it is moving. That’s great! Their pan au chocolate is amazing, and I can’t wait until they reopen in the new location!

Great service (which is amazing considering how busy they are!), delicious food, and amazing iced coffee! Their rustic loaf, spring onion croissant, torta della nonna, and vanilla cream brioche are my go to delights!

We really love the almond croissants here in particular - The bread is flaky, buttery and it doesnt have that overpowering almond paste like some of the other bakeries have. The top also has that crunchiness that actually works! Its quite enjoyable to eat. Another item we usually get from here are their canneles! Mild crunch on the outside but soft and sweet inside! Cant just have one. Inside too is very cozy. It may feel a little tight during busy hours but nevertheless, still cozy. They open up the front “garage style windows” during warmer weathers and its a nice spot to chill. The lattes here are very good too so The Bread Stand can really be that coffee-and-croissant place. The pastries are of very good quality although for some reason i find that they have that over-baked kind of color coz they seem a little darker (but they are not over baked at all!). Staff are friendly, establishment is clean and location, although far from us, is great since its not a hectic area. And plus they have both street parking and a parking space just across that they share with an autoshop. Great spot indeed!

This place is delicious. The sandwiches and focaccias are amazing. Highly recommend. We park down the street facing the front.

The best croissants in the area

It’s always great to find a vegetarian breakfast spot with delicious offerings. The Bread Stand did not disappoint. Split two of there toast options. They were both delicious! The Stracciatella was my favorite with the creaminess of the cheese paired with the bite of salty and fresh basil! The fig jams fresh rosemary was delicious and not something I have had or ever thought to pair with a sweet toast. Washed it down with a strong bold flavored cappuccino to wrap this meal all up with a 5 star completion. Although busy, we still were able to dine in at the small breakfast bar by the window. It was chilly outside so the outdoor area wasn’t open but it was very large and in nicer weather provides much more dine in seating. Staff and great and the bathroom was clean! All around great place. Looking forward to returning.

Had cheddar chalepeno croissant and vanilla brioche. Outstanding!!! Coffee is good too, has actually good flavor. Nice, clean inviting place with good pastries

Pain au pecorino and flourless chocolate cake with almonds are seriously addictive. All other breads, croissants, danish and brioche pastries are excellent too. Come early for the best selection.

Truly amazing little bakery and cafe. The food is amazing, and a fantastic value - not cheap, but the quality you get for your money is astounding. The particular highlights, in my opinion, are the croissants, focaccia, and the torta rustica (very similar to my family's recipe). They also pull a great shot of espresso, and the baristas are truly delightful people. This place is perhaps the best thing about Maplewood, and the place I miss the most about leaving. My kids and I love going here on a morning they have off from school, or a lazy Saturday afternoon.

It’s a neat bakery with a nice ambience. Tried the Pineapple Danish, I feel like if the bread had been a bit crispier and the fruit was fresh it would’ve been amazing. Blood Orange Pistache Danish: Wasn’t a fan, no pistachio flavor either. bitterness from the blood Orange and the cheap tasting choco paste clashed. Vanilla Cream Brioche: An average brioche. Tasted a bit stale. Latte: Pretty bad since it was just 90% milk.

Always an amazing experience at The Bread stand. They have great food and great customer service! Kristen and staff always greet me with a warm welcome and smile! Check them out! You won’t regret it :)

I’ve never been more obsessed with a food establishment, same goes for Arturo’s. Great food, service, prices, music- every. single. time.

However much I hype it up, you’re going to be impressed. Only downside is the prices.

I was looking for a great coffee and instead found myself stuffing my face with the best coffee and pastry possible. Took 2 cookies to go too! 😂🤤

Service and selections are excellent. The focaccia is an incredible lunch.
