The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, the service was incredible, it was the best pasta (Linguini Con Taleggio) I have ever had in a long time and the ceviche was delicious! The food has great quality and definitely is fresh. I would definitely go back, 100% recommended.

First let me say that the staff was very friendly and engaging and the atmosphere was pleasant and had class. The white table cloths needed to be ironed, though...many were wrinkled which is such a shame when the decor was simple and elegant. The menu was a bit limited but one could tell everything would be fresh. Checking the reviews, we decided to try this place for the first time. The food was decent but a bit overpriced. My companion ordered a simple red sauce pasta that he enjoyed. I ordered a chicken eggplant parmigiana which was $28 but was asked if I wanted a veg or pasta (which I thought typically came with such a dish), I chose pasta and unbeknownst to me, was upcharged $2.50. The chicken eggplant parm portion was properly sized but the pasta was stingy for the upcharge, IMHO, as one got 1/4 of the pasta needed to eat with the parm. Although it was all fresh as expected, the chicken parm was also quite solid (i.e. not tender as I had to really work my knife through it) and it was surprisingly bland. I take no pleasure in writing this and hope the chef takes notice. It would still be a pleasant place for some wine and an appetizer.

We went here during Baltimore Restaurant Week, in part because we wanted a nice night out, and because we wanted some vegetarian options. Overall, this was an okay experience, but unfortunately not worth the price---these are at best $15 entrees that are priced much higher. The bruschetta's balsamic reduction was overly sweet, lacking depth, and more of an artistic flair (a drizzle on the side of the plate) rather than a substantive contributor to the disk. The ravioli was subpar, with butter being the overwhelming and overpowering flavor. The Restaurant week vegetarian options need more variety (I like eggplant, but eggplant as the main item in both is lacking variety), as does the menu in general. The server was nice, and maybe overwhelmed, but we were constantly out of (tap) water.

The BEST gluten free pasta I've ever eaten. I also had soft, warm gluten free bread with butter. Pasta and bread were made in-house and delicious. The staff was very knowledgeable about gluten free requirements and were able to help point me toward safe entrée options. My husband had regular, wheat based pasta and he also said it was wonderful. Our server told me that approximately 50% of their customers are gluten free.

Came here to try something different. Food just wasn’t up to par for the price. Nothing spectacular or special and kind of bland. Hard to justify coming here again when Tagliata is around the corner.

My sister is gluten free and we informed our server, unfortunately we were not presented all of their gluten free options and the dish she ended up ordering was subpar. We heard a different server list every gluten free option to a different table and felt disheartened. The sauce for her was mediocre and the gf pasta didn’t live up to other reviews. Overall, we felt our server could’ve been more accommodating and invested. Our server was nice but unprepared to accommodate allergy needs.

La Tavola is a fantastic option in Little Italy for handmade pastas and a homemade feeling meal. The Lasagne and Gnocchi are a stand out, so is the Taleggio, which is a favorite of mine. Finish off with cheesecake or any other dessert, you really cant go wrong! Service has also been excellent since new ownership recently. This place will always be a favorite of mine and my family.

Eh, maybe I've been spoiled by the food up in Philly, but this place doesn't really hit the spot for me. Portions are small, which isn't too surprising, but the real problem is that the food isn't even all that good. The dishes taste too bland for what they are trying to be and lack depth. The sauces almost tasted like they came from a jar, but maybe I'm just imagining things, or got an older batch.

Wonderful little restaurant with a welcoming hostess to greet you. Our server was not as welcoming though being rather short spoken and few far between visits to the table. While the food overall was very good, the chicken got overcooked with 0 seasoning. They do have many great Gluten Free options for those like my friend that was with me. Hopefully you’ll have the informative and spirited server that we kept hearing at the other tables.

We were really disappointed by our meal here given all the positive reviews. The special seafood tortellini had overly thick pasta and wasn’t even cooked through on the thickest folded bits. Just a chewy mess. The seafood stuffing was really dense and didn’t taste like much of anything. The mushroom ravioli was better but also overly thick pasta. The Parmesan cheese was pre grated and was spooned out of a bowl with the plastic wrap still on top of it. Just not up to the standards you would expect from the prices they charge.

We were excited to try this restaurant as there were a lot of great reviews, and a couple "so-so" reviews. I figured the "so-so" reviews were people that may have been hard to please - WRONG! One of our appetizers was the bruschetta, which some other people had bragged about. I looked at it and was surprised to see 4 pieces of bread with diced tomatoes on top, that was it. I tasted it, figured that the tomatoes probably had the balsamic vinegar already on them - nope. The bruschetta was just unseasoned diced tomatoes on toasted bread, zero flavoring, no cheese - for $14. I asked the waitress for some balsamic vinegar to add to it to at least add some flavor which helped. I had gotten the veal which was tender, but the capers in the white wine sauce was overpowering and very strong - very strong vinegar taste. Dessert was a 3 cheese cheesecake which was very good, that took the rating from a 2* to a 3*. Maybe they got a new chef since all of the good reviews, but I cannot recommend it as I've had better in the small rural town we live in. I'll try other places next time we're in Baltimore.

This was an outing for my son’s birthday. Very slow service, especially on delivery of drinks; twice. The getting the check was a next level ordeal. The server placed the wrong card on the tray; voided out all transactions (like 8 trays’ worth); and all that had been wrong was the card on the receipt, not what was charged. This was a 25 minute process to resolve; and nothing was offered for our trouble. It was by far the worst $200 dinner I have ever paid for.

It was such a pleasure seeing a new owner and having this restaurant open again. Having heard of the plans to revitalize thus space, I know Luca will be successful. If nothing else go there for deserts.. they were a huge sucsess for all. The service was spot on, and we never had to wait to get what we asked for. The food was leaning towards Sardinian. There was no surprise there since the owner is from the island. The presentation was also nice and clean..meaning the dishes looked good when they arrived at the table..and they had good taste. At the time of visit..I did feel like I just walked into a New York City mob hangout only because of the decor, but that was fine, since the mob hangouts in NYC had the best Italian foods ever...and this place did too..good food! In any case, the decor is going to change, become more, much more up to date, and this place will be the new Italian go to. Oh, and the prices were very reasonable for all one gets, plus the selection of wines is a good one.

The food was amazing and we had the most wonderful night. 16 years later, following a polyamorous wedding, the birth of our two children, and my gender transition, both my wives took me back here for a second time. Right before dessert they proposed and want to keep sharing their lives with me. I am lucky beyond measure, and this restaurant will forever be enshrined in my memory as an incredibly special place. Food was amazing- reasonably sized portions with incredible flavor. I had Spaghetti Neri al Granchio- squid ink pasta with limp crab meat, spinach, and tomato in white wine & lobster broth. Delicious! Other dishes ordered by our group included Lasagna Bolognese, Ravioli with a traditional red sauce, and Saltimbocca alla Romana. All delicious. One of our party has a wheat allergy. Our server was knowledgeable about her options and shared that the gluten free pasta (strofie) is made in-house. Her dinner, Taleggio, was amazing with the strofie pasta having a chewy texture quite similar to traditional pasta- virtually unheard of for gluten free pastas! Desserts were great as well with the lighter take on a traditional cannoli being a big hit as well as the homemade strawberry sorbetto. And, of course, tiramisu - delicious! Service was a bit slow and our salads never came out but, it did appear our sever was attending to the entire second floor. He was apologetic and seemed genuinely sorry about the mix up. Overall very good food and great service. Visiting our daughter and hadn’t been here in several years-so glad we tried it again. We started by sharing the frito misto which we devoured, followed by salads. The insalata mista was good but the dressing was not very flavorful. My husband and I had the veal Norcina which was excellent, along with roasted root vegetables. Daughter had a dish similar to cioppino which she requested be served with linguine and it was wonderful with copious fresh shellfish. We barely had room for dessert but managed to eat profiteroles, tartufo and gelato affogato with coffee and cappuccino. Husband and daughter enjoyed a cocktail and wine. My only suggestion would be a tastier bread and a more lively salad dressing. There are wonderful selections on the menu yet to be tried so I look forward to another visit soon. Our waiter was very friendly and his service was perfect.

Food was bland, the cheese plate was 4 cheese selections (we were told there should have been 5 by the waitress). Although she didn’t know what they were - it was a slap together of cheese, underwhelming and of Kraft quality. Same for the antipasto plate - there were literally 3 slices of salami a quarter slice of prosciutto. A few of the greyest and blandest olives you have ever seem, and a big arugula salad that took up the plate. It was basically a $20 arugula salad sold as an antipasto plate - extremely overpriced and underwhelming. The main courses were Ok - Osso Bucco was ok, the rissoto it was in may have well of been oatmeal for the consistency and flavor. Squid ink pasta was decent, the veal saltimbocca was salty and again underwhelming. The cannolis for dessert are not cannoli’s it’s bland whipped crème in pizzelle - again for $14.00 it’s a rip off. Service was good, prompt and the serve was kind. The food was not - I think these guys are living off the little Italy location and the tourists where they are OK if they don’t see them again…plenty of choices in the surrounding blocks this will not be a repeat

Hubby took one bite of his spaghetti and said, ‘oh yeah this is good.’ I ordered the gnocchi and was in love from the first bite. If you’ve never experienced handmade pasta you definitely need to try LaTavola.

My family and I went here because there were good reviews. We’re extremely disappointed. The waiter was purposely unfriendly to our table (POC) and the other POC family sitting next to us. All the other tables received meal recommendations with vibrant personality and smiles. Don’t go if you don’t like being discriminated against. Aside from the overt discrimination, the portions were insanely small. We ordered various dishes and were wondering where the rest of the food was. My father ordered veal and they brought two thinly sliced pieces with nothing other than a bite of potato and sauce. My husband ordered chicken Parmesan and the only thing on the plate was a small chicken patty with sauce. Not at all worth the price. Not worth your time. We even got their “famous” limoncello martini and it was weak. Please just go to any other surrounding restaurants.

I spent a long time searching for gluten free and dairy free food, while in Baltimore. I found this restaurant listed in GrubHub, and recommended by other gluten free sites. Since I was alone, and didn’t know my way around, I ordered the Strofie Vegetali for dinner, through GrubHub, for dinner, one night. This was hand made gluten free pasta, with a selection of vegetables, in a wine sauce. It came nicely packaged, in a reusable tray, with my utensils and some separate bread. Not sure the bread was gluten free, but it didn’t cause problems, when I ate it. Ate half for dinner, and cold leftovers for lunch, the next day. The cold leftovers were much like a pasta salad, with vegetables. Hotel did not provide a microwave, where I could reheat food, so I was forced to eat leftovers cold.

Came here after visiting the aquarium and while it was raining badly, it was a great experience. The food was wonderful, the staff were friendly and we had the restaurant to ourselves. I want to revisit this restaurant another time to get a better understanding of it at dinner and when it is busy, but overall, I loved my experience here

The food choices were minimal and not cooked well. Our pasta came out old, clumped, and overcooked. The overwhelming smell of fish made it hard to enjoy the environment. The only good thing was our waitress who was very nice. I was so disappointed and would definitely not waste my money there again. If you’re looking for a good & authentic Italian restaurant in the area, go to Cafe Gia Ristorante right around the corner - it’s delicious and well worth every penny.

Our waitress, Rita, was very helpful at suggesting choices. We decided on the Restaurant Week menu. The appetizer with Calamari was very large. The Burette the same - could share. The Rockfish was very generous and great! We also enjoyed the bread served with olive oil - we added a side of bolognese for dipping —- so good! The only suggestion to management is for a dimmer dining room lighting. Too much lighting for “date night”

This was a stop in the little Italy food walking tour. So there was a sampler to try when we got there. Well the place is super nice. The staff were super friendly, and the food was excellent! I am fired up to go back for dinner.

Been several years since last eating here. It’s still the same, quaint neighborhood Italian restaurant it’s always been. Highly recommend. It’s not fancy, but reminds us of the little Italian places in Brooklyn with charm and great food.

Came here with my husband for dinner and this was our first and last time at this restaurant. We walked in at 6:30p for dinner and it wasn’t very busy at all. Got seated promptly. A waitress came over and asked if it was our first time there and we said yes. She said there was also a menu with the specials for the night and she would grab it for us. She leaves and doesn’t come back. We saw her tending to other table but never returned to take our order. Another waiter saw us looking around so he came by to take our order. Then the waitress came back to ask what we had ordered “because she just wanted to know” then said she would get us some bread. She leaves once again and doesn’t come back with bread until after we had received our meal. I love homemade pasta and will purposely seek out restaurants that only make homemade pasta. However this is the first restaurant I have been to where I did not like their homemade pasta at all. I ordered the vegetable penne and it was the most bland meal I have ever had and for $26 was a joke. My husband ordered the linguine taleggio and that was decent at least so I was eating some of his until we found a long black hair from under the pasta and my appetite was gone. I was over the meal and we will not be returning.
