This was our first time here. We had been talking about it for months. This restaurant was clean and nice. The waitress came quickly after we sat ourselves. Our food also came out faster than expected. With all this good two things messed it up. First, not sure if he was the manager or owner BUT he was very rude to the staff as he barked out orders very loudly to them. Not once but several times that cause some customers to whisper among themselves. Then he proceeds to call all of them in the back and yell even more. This was so unprofessional and that may have been our first and last time coming. BUT I HAVE TO SAY ALL OF THE OTHER STAFF MEMBERS WERE GREAT. Second, I do not believe that animals should allowed to come into restaurants where food is being prepared and eaten. If it's a CERTIFIED service animal then that is acceptable in my opinion. Because it is NOT sanitary. There are outside seats and they should be instructed to use that area. I am a lover of animals. We have dogs and cats at HOME. To respond to the owner. First, there was only one customer who said something out loud about the dog which has absolutely nothing to do with me. Also, that is not a CERTIFIED service animal. I have worked with them and they have to have on an approved apron. Second, we as your customers all heard you aggressively raise your voice. Third the fact that you failed to acknowledge and accept that tells me you do this on a regular basis and feel that you are not in the wrong. You have not once tried to satisfy me as a customer. This is an update. I have noticed a decline in food quality. My last two visits the food went from 5 star to 3 star. My omelettes are overcooked and dry compared to a few months ago. The home fries were overcooked too. The waiting staff is still top notch.

This is everything that you expect a small town family diner to be. Great food, service and a fun atmosphere. The decor is somewhat retro so it just adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. Great place and easy to recommend this to others.

Great place food was good, Service was good, next time I’ll try something different. Although my Wife food she Loved it. I had the chicken and Biscuits, biscuits did not taste freshly made… but it was not bad at all. We will be back…

I usual love going here. Today i ordeted the fish and chips. The fish was not cooked it actualy still had a slimey feel to it. Could mot eat it.

Best biscuits and gravy I've ever had

It is hard for me to rate this place accurately, simply based on stars. The place has as a bit of a denny's vibe to me, and it would be a place I would go to for a general hot breakfast superior to fast food in every way. I know that may not sound like a glowing complement, but the place is what it is, and I would not suggest to them that they change how they do things specially. Actually I would suggest only the owner be careful to maintain their price point at the given quality/quantity of the food they are serving as the place serves whether they know it or not serves a specific demograhic in the area. That being said I go here for a relaxing casual breakfast or lunch that will not hurt my wallet to much. If would by far recommend them over chains I know in the area and also over the auburndale diner as they are slightly better. One thing I will mention in regard to the auburndale diner to the owner/manager is not to switch to portion control syrup for pancakes as not only is it annoying, the pc packs are lower in quality.

Great place to get biscuits and Gravy.

I took my mother to brunch on Mother's Day. A beautiful server named Jayden took perfect care of us on our special visit. Delicious food and inexpensive prices for breakfast. The food was great, and Jaydens service was perfect. Wonderful experience.

In a town that nearly says, " Hello and thanks for visiting," I was not surprised this place would be a hit!!! Even if you're nearly the only place to eat in town, you still gotta do it right!!! I believe Lake Alfred Diner is doing it right. I was a bit disappointed we were not able to stop back in while we were in town. I can assure you that next time we are in the area! Enjoy!!!

I was there earlier today and I love coming to Lake Alfred Diner, the waitresses are so polite and I like how they check if customers are okay. Very humble.

I love this diner. I’ve been here on various occasions and the service is always great. I ordered myself a country fried steak meal and it was delicious. I did not have to wait to be seated (I arrived around 10:30am). I got a table outside to enjoy the weather. They were starting to get busy so I got there at a good time. The servers took my drink order and respectfully gave me time to decide what I wanted to eat. Once I ordered my meal and received it, they periodically came over to my table to make sure I didn’t need anything else. Over all between the food, the service, and the atmosphere I rate this diner a 10 out 10.

I love fish and eggs for breakfast. I've been all over south Florida for the last month and a half and this is the best grilled fish and eggs breakfast I have experienced. Great 👍 service too.

Best coleslaw around. Club sandwiches on sourdough with fries were delicious. And super friendly staff.

Always a good choice for breakfast. Had the 2x2x2. 1 biscuit with gravy, 2 eggs and 2 sausage patties. Delicious and filling.

Ate here for the first time on Monday, February 26th. Sat outside enjoying the fantastic weather. Kenzee was our server and she took wonderful care of us. Wow! What a fantastic menu with daily specials - except Tuesday when they are closed. (Free desert on Sundays, LOL). Very fair prices and lots of selections. We highly recommend this local restaurant, and we definitely will be back.

If you're ever in the area, stop at this diner. GREAT food GREAT service.

Home style cooking with good, friendly service

It's a small town diner, that's all I need to say. Had the braised ribs with sauerkraut, exactly as it's supposed to taste. All for $10. Go see for yourself but not open on Tuesdays.

It was our first visit after driving by several times. We came for breakfast on a Saturday and it was relatively busy. The service was pretty good. The menu is standard breakfast foods at a diner. The food came out fast and hot. It was a decent breakfast that met the standards of an average diner. It wasn’t over the top wowing.

We like this place so much we meet others here on Thursday mornings. The coffee is almost on the table when we sit!! The people that work here make you feel at home. The food is consistently good with minimal wait time. The prices are reasonable, especially in comparison of other breakfast menus. Very friendly diner.

Food was delicious. Severs are caring and helpful. Prices are compatible, bring cash, if you use card they charge you for it.

Don't go here it's not that much of a savings their prices. Can't cook eggs right, water is terrible unfiltered makes tea and coffee have sulfur taste. Waitresses are not attentive and there is one especially who basically slops your plates on the table with the most disgusted with life face on. Never checked back on us never brought check. Third time we are done what a shame needs new management.

It is your typical diner. I dined in for breakfast. I had grits, eggs, bacon, and toast. The coffee is good and strong. Everything was cooked as requested. The servers were both very nice and attentive. A friend got the corn fritters to go and the person receiving them said they were very good. There are somewhat limited dining options in Lake Alfred, and I was in town for work for the day. They are conveniently located on the main highway with easy access from both sides of the split highway.

I am a regular patron at Lake Alfred diner, which I normally enjoy. I have never left a review before, but felt it necessary today I overheard a waitress talking about one of the patrons in a very negative manner. Evidently poor guy had done some time or been in prison or something, but he did his time he did not deserve to be Put out there, especially by one of the employees of the diner. I’m very disappointed this should not be allowed by any establishment so until I see this relatively new Waitress gone, I will not return and encourage my friends to do the same sad sad day in America when we can’t overlook each other‘s faults. I’m sure this loudmouth gossip has skeletons in her closet maybe we should find out and post them everywhere

Came to visit my father and mother from Orlando and they brought us to Lake Alfred Dinner Inc and everything was wonderful. From the waiter, to the food and the owner were all great. I had the ultimate omelet with hash browns and toast, I loved that when I was at the half point of eating my omelet, the omelet was still nice and hot. The place was very busy on a Friday morning. I recommend this diner.

The food is always good .. and hot!! Never had a bad waitress or employee there. The only reason for a rate of four, not five, is because this area needs a good restaurant that serves dinner meals. It is a desperate need with all the new housing developments being built!

We visited the past Sunday really early, and they were ready to serve. They were extremely friendly and our order was fast and delicious, definitely we will visit them again soon.

It’s kinda of sad but mostly upsetting that the owner fired me just because I refused to work off the clock and he couldn’t even have the decency to tell me. Instead he texts my older sister to notify me that I was let go. But all I can do is only wish for the best for him his business and all who go’s there.

5 Stars all the way. On my first day headed to work at new Lake Alfred Government Center building, i wasnt dure of drive-time from Bartow Citrus Highlands area. So what better choice than to leave early and try Lake Alfred Diner. Drive to diner: 25 minutes Server took order: 2 minutes after seated EGGS, Hashbrowns, Toast and Sausage was Served at table in just 5 minutes after ordering. :PRICELESS PERFECT OVER EASY EGGS. Very nice, and attentive Server. This wont be my last time here.

A nice small town diner, but apparently clueless to the needs of those who have a problem with gluten.

This place is awesome, my first visit was many years ago. I'm a truck driver and unfortunately there's no short term parking in the area. Any time I'm in the area I make it a priority to stop and get some breakfast. Most of the time I get it to go because I'm parked on a side street but sometimes I'll done in. Either way it's worth it.
