I visited this establishment for the very first time ever and was very unhappy with the customer service I received. Upon entering, I greeted the lady and she didn't return my greeting. I then proceeded to order a mix of donut flavors ( honestly, I really should have left after that funky reception or non) but I digress. I was inquiring about flavors and she seemed annoyed, I informed her that this was my first visit. I asked if she was having a bad morning and wished her a more pleasant remainder of the day. I hope this isn't typical of this place and people are continuing to patronize, however I will not be returning. As the saying goes, rhe first impression is the best impression. I hope the 🍩 are good atleast.

This donut shop has been a staple in the city of Laurel for decades. They have the best donuts around and do great breakfast sandwiches. I've never myself had lunch here but I have heard it is quite good as well. The donuts are fresh made everyday and the sandwiches are made to order. You'll find a who's who of the city of Laurel here. Most days. They have yeast donuts, not cake donuts. Parking can get tight during the busiest hours, but there's always a spot to be found either in their parking lot or the one right next door.

These donuts MELT in your mouth. They are super airy. Unfortunately, the person working wasn't familiar with the ingredients in them. Primarily the frostings and sprinkles. I was looking to find out if their pink frosting and sprinkles had artificial dyes in them. She wasn't sure and didn't know what to look for. These were SOOOO good.

Bacon was hard and old...will never buy a sandwich from them again....donuts are great...this place is too small......

This store is a little donut shop. It has a lot of hype and it’s rightful. Soft, delicate donuts with lots of flavor. Glazed, Maple, Chocolate. Everything!! This place is so slept on. The service was okay and the atmosphere is a little shop with a display case and a register. No seating.

Sadly, I visited this place for the first time and it will be my last. Upon walking in, the Asian lady at the desk did not speak to me nor smile. I was the only customer and was not welcomed nor did I feel welcome. I spoke and said, "How are you?" She dryly responded, "How can I help you?" Seconds later, a white man entered the store and she spoke to him immediately. I quietly exited. I will never return.

These are, in my opinion, the bear donuts in Maryland.

They have a rather small assortment of donuts, they have the classics chocolate, maple, glazed, sugar and some jelly filled donuts. But it seems that even though they don't have many choices they have perfected the donuts they do have. The donuts are soft, spongy, tasty, and fresh.

Everything Was PERFECT!!! Will Be Back!!!!

The ladies are awesome!! The breakfast sandwiches taste homemade and the mini cheeseburgers are delicious!!

Good homemade style breakfast sandwiches but the star of the show is the doughnuts!!! Better than Krispy Kreme in my opinion! Any time I’m working in the area I have to stop by!!!

Donuts are light and airy and not greasy. Better than DD and KK, in my opinion. But even better than the donuts are the apple fritters. Sliders are a nice bit of nostalgia, but nothing to write home about.

I am a born and raised life-long Laurelite and had never had the opportunity to go to Little Tavern until they just reopened (my mom would never let us go). I made it there around 8am on a Saturday am and I was already late to the game in terms of donughts—I was insanely disappointed because I was going solely to get a sampler of donughts, but with a fresh newborn, sleep mattered and I was too tired to think about ordering sandwiches with the fast paced crowd in there. With the selection of donughts I did get, I was NOT disappointed! Hands down, the best I have ever had in my life and that’s including your Fractured Prune and Sandy Pony down at the beach. While they have the fancy frills, Laurel Tavern is purist. They’re light, fluffy, and melt with each bite. It was fantastic. I do not like jelly filled and their jelly was excellent. The Boston crème pie was lovely. My favorite was the cinnamon sugar which was outstanding. Classic glaze is a must in whatever selection you get. Staff was super nice!!! I will need to return during the week to try other flavors and my husband is dying for the sliders since it’s been a while from his last fix. I will be back during the week to try again and update the review then. We will be back for sure!

The donuts weee delicious. My only disappointment is that there wasn’t as much of a selection as I had hoped for. Most of the case was empty despite it being fairly early in the morning. The donuts we did get were amazing so we will definitely try this place again.

One of the better donut shops in Maryland!

I checked reviews and was impressed with what I read. It was a good choice to stop. I ordered the western omlette platter and it was well seasoned. This omlette is my second favorite with a close margin to my favorite omlette made when I visited Turks and Caicos. For me, minor things matter also, so I must share they did NOT have flimsy plasticware 💪🏾 lol. That is super important to me. The donuts looked tempting so besides what I read about them. I seeked the advice of a frequent customer and purchased a glazed donut. It was delicious and fresh. I heard they make them fresh daily so that is a plus as well. I lived in Laurel for 5 years before moving and did not stop here one time during that tenure. Could you say me being upset is an understatement lol I would highly recommend.

This is a hidden gem. It's a small hole-in-the-wall type of place, but it is neat and clean. The staff is friendly, and the donuts are beyond delicious. Their donuts are light airy and fluffy. It's definitely worth trying.

This place is the truth! You're stupid if you live in Laurel and go to other places for donuts. I will go back to try the sliders and their breakfast soon

This place is a hole in the wall gem of a place! Donuts are light, fluffy and VERY flavorful constantly being made. If you're like me and are going for apple fritters know that during the week they are NOT made until AFTER 8AM and AFTER 10AM during the weekend! We had of course the sliders and were not disappointed, so yourself a favor and get them with everything it's even better! Breakfast sandwich was good though we would've loved a more balanced meat to egg ratio. Parking IS limited but people are constantly coming and going! They take cash AND cards.

Their donuts are the best in the DMV. Think Krispy Kreme, but even lighter. The burgers are fantastic and are seasoned deliciously. They also make my favorite breakfast sandwich which is a the perfect proportion of sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant.

Unfortunately the shop had an accident, looks like a vehicle crashed into the side of the building.

I've only gone to Donut Shack in Severna Park for donuts. I was craving a good Boston Cream and Donut Shack was sold out. I tried Laurel Tavern for the first time last week. Came a little late, around 11am, but luckily got their last Boston Cream. I was INSTANTLY shocked by how soft their donuts were. I have never had such soft donuts in my life. Other reviews say to GO EARLY for donuts. I totally concur!

This is one of those secret best finds. No bling, not fancy, but you can get great breakfast sandwiches or wraps for an awesome price! They've got a great variety of donuts too! Definitely recommend!

I thought I was getting some fresh donuts I hit up early just to come here from temple hill Md I checked to see there opening g schedule and it said they open 7 days a wk at 6am got here at 8:30 am it look like they was closed or out of business and I even called nothing took that almost hr drive for nothing 😡😡😡

This place is a little treasure to Laurel, Md. Good Food Always.

The burgers are good, however be careful and specific don't say you want everything on it , they don't seem to understand that, you need to specify what everything is or they'll be lazy and leave out onions or pickles, so as long as you're specific you should be fine and watch how they charge you they are sneaky little people and they're liars and will try to rip you off because they probably assume you're dumb and don't know how to add.

Went there after someone recommended the place. First time two days ago. Best donuts I’ve had in years. Fresh, light and great flavor. Very very highly recommend. Folks I bought the 4 dozen donuts for are in love with them.

Easy to miss this little gem! Cruising the area from Annapolis and decided to see what the doughnut action is like in Laurel. It did not disappoint. Doughnuts were fresh and tasty. The staff was super helpful and patient. You can keep your commercially made donuts, and I'll buy my doughnuts from Laurel Tavern and other local shops.

The donuts are really good here but the lady who takes the orders is super rude and just seems so irritated when talking to her. I would rather spend my money somewhere where people are nicer and don’t look mad that you’re trying to place an order.

Laurel Tavern is properly lauded in multiple online reviews, formal and anecdotal. I e how the praise, and encourage anyone with the means to get out to Laurel to check it out. The donuts are fantastic, but the star of the menu is the cheeseburger. I recommend ordering with everything on it/them (they're slider-sized), except bacon. The cheeseburgers are so good that bacon is just an over complication.

I did not expect to find incredibly pillowy donuts. We started with six, and didn’t manage to leave the parking lot before we decided we needed more. Amazing.

Laurel Tavern is the most customer unfriendly place in Laurel. I stopped going there on a weekly basis after being told that they do not have all of their donuts ready by as late as 7:30. Their filled donuts and maple glazed donuts are usually not available. If you ask them they will rudely tell you that what you see is all we have. The idea that people need to get donuts early in the morning before they go to work escapes them. And, their negative attitudes toward customers makes starting off your day a little less satisfying

Y'all I went here 3 times this week. I finally was successful in getting donuts on Friday. Hallelujah thank you sweet baby Jesus! Make sure you come early if you want donuts. I came here two days before at 11 and 830 both times the donuts sold out. On Friday I hauled my butt up there I was driving like NASCAR themselves sponsored these donuts and got there around 705. And by the time I was done ordering there were maybe 30 donuts left. Honestly I've had donuts from shops listed in Maryland bests donut trail and I must say these are just as amazing. By the time I got there they just had glazed donuts with different flavors ie maple, chocolate, strawberry, coconut, etc. Overall now I'm irritated because I love them but will have to wake up super early for these decadent treats. May God continue to bless those hands that make these donuts!

I'd say we're pretty fond of this spot at this point. There really aren't any local non franchise donut/breakfast spots in the area besides Tavern. Donuts are fresh, breakfast sandwiches are up-to-par. Not a Dine-in location, small lot in the back, and donuts selection is thin after noon. ✌🏿✌🏿

The burger sliders are pretty decent and their donuts some of the best I have ever had. Also, my parents and others seemed to have fond memories of Little Tavern and it is nice to see one of its former locations still offers their famous burger sliders.

The donuts are amazing, but they also serve "Little Tavern style " sliders! The grilled cheese sammich is legendary!!! Highly recommended!

There are framed newspaper clippings and pictures that tell you about its origins and how it grew into a Laurel area staple. Their breakfast options are also great and affordable. If you like hash browns, I highly recommend asking them to put a hash brown in your breakfast sandwich of choice—total game changer. Love the workers there—kind, efficient, and highly-skilled to manage the influx of orders and a wide range of menu items. If you’re in a rush, you can also call in your order ahead of time so it’s ready when you arrive and all you have to do is pay!

Fresh donuts and a little nostalgia, the sliders are the absolute best. You can't go wrong for any meal you get here. Everything is fresh, the donuts are made while you wait, and the sliders are never frozen ground beef. This place is an experience you'll be happy you found no matter the meal.

We randomly found this place while waiting for sams club to open. Got a breakfast sandwich and it was super tasty! The donuts are also delicious!! Not too sweet and super crispy ✨💕 we got there around 930 and donuts were a little slim. Coming back for more!!!

Food was good like I remember from the old days, but twice as expensive. No place to sit and not the cleanest place.

I've had many donuts from many different places around the DMV, and these are easily some of the softest ones Ive ever had. Melts-in-your-mouth quality. Absolutely delightful. They offer your usual breakfast options as well for a fair price and with that unbeatable 'mom-and-pop' shop quality.

The food is ok but their customer service is not good at all.

Their donuts are good, but (if like me) you still have a craving for The Little Tavern mini burgers, this is the last place you can find them. They still sell them in a bag of 3 or 6.

I really love the donuts from here and go anytime I'm in Laurel! The donuts are simple (they've got glazed along with various permutations of glazed such as glazed with strawberry filling or glazed with chocolate or strawberry icing.), reasonably priced (like Dunkin Donuts or a bit cheaper but much tastier), and really satisfy a craving if one hits. Sadly, I haven't had anything else off their menu and always want to get the mini burgers --- I just can't justify not getting donuts if I'm in the area and I also can't justify getting donuts *and* burgers. They also have a good selection of breakfast sandwiches that I'd like to try.

Donuts are the best, burgers are great, everything is worth it here. However, customer service is lacking with one of the ladies that is there on the daily. She is rude and curt to customers, the other two folks that work there make up for her behavior though.
