Great place to enjoy music and good food and drink.

The food was fantastic and the employees are very nice, the howling coyote burger is very big and spicy. All in all the Loco Coyote Grill is a very good choice to stop and eat.

Great 3/4 pound hamburgers, good bar selection, great atmosphere. A must stop when you’re in the area on the bikes, we rode 150 miles one way for lunch.

WOW! We just happened upon this gem of a restaurant after a day visiting the Fossil Rim Wildlife Park. Loco Coyote Grill has such great tasting Texas BBQ; the BEST we’ve ever eaten anywhere...seriously!!!!! You get the real deal here with perfectly grilled/smoked meats; huge ribs, tender brisket & tasty sides-loved the cheesy corn so much. Our waiter was especially fun & the sawdust floors are cool too. I’d drive 2 hours from Dallas just to come back. Yep, it’s that good & you’ll definitely get stuffed on their generous portions. Very highly recommended!

The food tastes good but it's just really greasy fried stuff, and this is one of the loudest places I've ever been. Still overall a good experience

The brisket was bland. The smoked Turkey was good. The drinks weren’t that great. We had margarita and spicy lemonade. Several people had told us about them and we figured we would try them out. The coyote balls and onion rings were very good. The cheesy corn, and orca needs tons of salt. Maybe it just wasn’t a match for us that day.

Loved everything. Ate to much. Large onion rings are super large, be careful. Couldn't finish them.

This has definitely not been my month for eating out 😔.... We have not been here in 4 years and it was beyond HORRIBLE... We took some friends out for dinner and were so embarrassed 😣 the BBQ was so greasy you couldn't eat it... The hamburger patties? were like giant round balls... Cold fries .. AND we were sitting inside and the flies were so bad!! Will absolutely not be going back.. What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!

Huge portions of Amazing food!!! We had catfish, chicken, chicken fried steak, a burger, onion rings, fries, fried pickels, brisket, and sausage. Definitely will be back! We have a big family and the person who took our order was kind and did excellent. Everything taste fresh and home made. Bellies are all full and so are the to go boxes. Best food Ever for the value!!!

Beautiful drive in the middle of no where.Place was kinda dirty.To many flies. Swinging my hand back an fourth so they won't land on my Drink,an food.Kinda Hot where it supposed it had A/c. Our food was great,but couldn't enjoy because of so many flies in door. It was quite an experience.

The atmosphere is family oriented. Great place out back for kids to play. Food was delicious. The servings are huge. You definitely get your money's worth. The servers work their butt off to make sure you have everything you need. Will definitely be back.

Service was terrible! They have a stupid rule you cannot order food and take it outside. We waited over an hour for a table. Then waited over an hour for our food. The waitress said she would give us chips & salsa for having us wait, but then still charged us for them. This place is not worth the ride or drive out there! You couldn't pay me to go back there!

We decided to give Loco a try last Saturday since I heard it was under new ownership again and it was worth the trip. Some things are still different compared to back when it first opened but nothing was bad. Rather, everything was really good. The ribs I had were cooked to perfection (but needed sauce), the beans were more than acceptable, and the onion rings were back to being the best anywhere. My friend had the big Loco Coyote Burger and it looked great. It wasn't exactly like Hammond did it a decade ago but it was good. I've heard it can't be ordered medium or even medium well but that wasn't an issue for him. There were plenty of green chilis and bacon on it. Our waitress and all the staff we interacted with were fantastic. I'm not big on the bar thing but most people probably like it.

We came here for an early dinner on our recent visit to Glen Rose. We wanted to give it a try after seeing an episode of The Day Tripper where they visited. This place is so good. The portions are huge and everything we ate was great. Easily the best chicken fried steak and onion rings I’ve ever had. We arrived around 3 on a Saturday and had no wait. But they were busy. I highly recommend giving this place a try. We will be back for sure.

We went and had lunch today and Jace was amazing! The food was okay but the waiter was the best one we have had in a really long time! Such an amazing attitude and great customer service!! Kudos Jace!! 👏🏻

Some of the best ribs I have ever had. Very generous portions. The staff was so sweet, helpful and amazing. Every time I come to Glen Rose, I want to come here.

If you've never been here, please plan a day and go. It's a drive and out in the middle of nowhere. Get yourself a drink, bucket of beer or whatever and get your name on the waitlist because you will wait to eat. It's so worth it though! I always get catfish (1 piece) fries and slaw and am happy happy! If you leave hungry, then that is your fault because portions are always huge. The food is good, the staff is amazing! Just gooooo already!!!! You won't regret the trip!

This is the best place we have ever eaten. It's an awesome experience more than anything else. There were so many people there that we had a 45-minute wait. There are tables and chairs outside that waiting people can sit at. Children have much space to run and play, and also a must is that it is dog friendly. The food is outstanding, but it is such a small part of the total experience.

Loved it! Sliced brisket, smoked turkey, and ribs were perfect. It was raining hard when we were there and the big windows made it fun anyway. I bet on a good-weather day this place is a hoot.

Motorcycle enthusiasts sanctuary under the big Texas Sky. A must visit watering hole for all backroad adventurers. Friendly folks, just don't tease the coyote. Cold beer. Lots of room inside & out. Check out the chopper sculpture & stuffed residents of the sage.

Took over 1hr after ordering before they let us know there where four orders ahead of us. This place use to be a long wait but 30 45 min after you set down you was done and out the door.

The girls and I found this place through a local resident! It's out in the middle of nowhere, but it was good food and great service! They have live music too. There is an area behind the restaurant where people can eat outside or the kids can run around.

Love everything about it, but we always get there at opening to avoid the long wait.

We went with our car club. One of our tables didn't get their food for over an hour! One person's burger and fries was amazing. Another's burger and fries looked and tasted like it was made day before. We normally take group photos after each event. We couldn't because 1 table was just getting food andwas so hungry, when the rest of us needed to give up our tables. Maybe our group was too large for them to handle. Atmosphere was great though. Most of staff was friendly.

The ride and location anf service is and was great. The food however, not so much.

Nice place. The workers all seem to work together well to give great service. I've never been anywhere that put barbq sauce on your order. They've always left that up to the customer. I'm not sure if that's stated on the menu or not. Next time, I'll let them know. There will be a next time.

Ill get right to the point, the Lighting is Terrible AND access to the bathrooms is VERY difficult... Again, very poor lighting outside and bathrooms are not clearly marked, nor are the bathrooms easily accessible... it was slightly rainy while we were there, ... PLEASE fix your interior & exterior lighting. LOVE the food, LOVE the server, LOVE the ambience... PS you can definitely keep the ambience with properly placed lighting ✨️ 👌

I went back and it has changed the server where not paying attention to just us they where wanting to get the big parties, never received our drinks so we just had enough. It's average for what it is...7 of us for Saturday lunch...food portions are large...burgers are huge, which honestly is too much to really enjoy without the bun falling apart. Flavor is ok and cooked properly but I guess I was expecting much better from all the reviews. Service is ok but was somewhat slower than expected. We waited a solid 45 minutes after ordering before our food was brought out and it wasn't particularly crowded for a lunch crowd.

Hostes was rude. Manager (who ever is in charge of seating) was rude. None of staff were friendly, at all. Great singer Friday night. 4 out of seven of us, had stomach issues the next day, not good. Not the same experience as in the past, sadly.

Had a group of old school friends meet up for lunch. Lots of room, waitresses were very friendly, helpful and very very patient. We had a great time and plan on doing it again.

Visit when you have plenty of time to chat and want to enjoy the outdoors with a drink before you have dinner. This is not a place to be in a rush. Definitely order appetizers with that drink!

Out in the middle of nowhere spot for good smoked meats. The 2 person platter is big enough for 4 very hungry people. Needless to say, we munched on this the next day, twice.

Em seguida fizemos os pedidos e a comida demorou mais de 1 hora!! Quando chegou a costela de porco estava dura e o restante estava apenas bom. Não recomendo! Existem várias opções de excelentes churrascos por perto.

We love bringing visiting family here. We had Jace as our server and he's incredible. Huge portions so come hungry and know you will prob bring home left overs. Love the atmosphere and energy. Order the coyote balls! A must go when in Glenrose!

We were there Saturday afternoon. They are always really busy so be prepared to wait. The wait is worth it. The onion rings are made from scratch and are the best I have ever tasted. The portions are huge. My husband and I each got a two meat combo. We had enough left over for dinner the next day and some to take to work for lunch. It’s so so so good.

Took over 40 mins to get the food which is not as bad as when you get your long awaited brisket and ribs, only to have leather textured brisket. Ribs were average, I Expect better from bbq joint and for the price. Brisket felt as if it had been cut yesterday and left on the counter to dry and leather out. By the time waiter came back, we were so disappointed we paid and left. Complaining about it was not going to have the restaurant cook a new fresh brisket nor get good replies from owner(which is what I’ve seen from the owner on bad reviews). Sweet tea was very good tho, so two stars on that.

Yes - this place is in the middle of nowhere it seems but not too far from other attractions. We enjoyed the atmosphere. Kids were able to play outside. Massive hamburgers!

Best turkey sandwich I've ever had, and the Po boys were also excellent. Staff was friendly and the ambiance was great. However, I was quoted a 30 minute wait that ended up taking 50 minutes. Didn't get any utensils nor napkins with the to-go order. Went back inside thinking they just forgot to pack it, but the girl at the counter seemed surprised that I would want a fork to for my buttered corn and coleslaw. I suppose they hardly have anyone from out-of-town order to-go.

The location is a hidden gem. Inside seating is for food and outside for anything other than food lol. Kind of handicapped accessible. Not sure about the restrooms (they're outside). The food was really tasty and large. The side salad was shareable dang near a meal. Bottled domestic beer was 3.61 which included a $1 tip.

The food is outstanding!!! The service is great, waitresses or very nice, atmosphere is great everyone is so friendly!! A very fun place to go. I recommend that for anyone that hasn't been there to please go you want regret it, especially if you're a biker.

Me and my wife had lunch there on Sunday. Its a little hole in the wall which we like so I give it 3 stars for the casual atmosphere and well priced drinks, also they have music on Friday and Saturdays which is nice. As far as food goes we had Onion rings, a rib plate and a brisket plate and unfortunately we were both extremely disappointed with all the food, it was possibly the worst BBQ we have ever tasted. It seemed like it was cooked in liquid smoke, and lacked the true BBQ flavor we are used too, and no pink to the meat just brown colored throughout. We would return for drinks, but will definitely pass up on the food.

My dinning experience was more nostalgic than anything at this overated, Saturday late lunch, to go experience. My "Pig Out" entree for 4 was, cold, overprices, skimpy on the quantity, cold and not very smoked, and way overprices. Well the fried chicken was a good temp, but the half pound of Brisket was cold , the Sausage was bland and cheep and store bought. $126 dollors of humiliation, as Texas smoked meats go. The meal is intinded for 4 if you divided your half mostly filled half pint of sides with matematical precision. Like two small plastic spoons each person. You do get some fries, but not much. I had to chek my order twice because my waitress insisted that onions and pickles were under the meet with the fries. No there were none, and thanks for not putting Styrofoam filled containers under the light portions of meat. You must ask for onions and pickles and bread. Heres the kicker, the wait staff insists on a 25% tip for complacent to go orders and that is no joke. Its just not worth ordering from here anymore. However, this place at one time, amazing. The food is better that McDonald's, but by not much. You are a fool order at the 2023 Loco, as evidenced by the empty parking lot. Stay at the bar and food order with low expectations.

Jocelyn was great. I had the small burger(which was huge) and a side of fried okra. And a margarita which was also great. I went alone, which kinda sucked that I couldn't sit at the bar, but overall it was good.

What a unique place! So out of the way, it's like you're visiting a friend's ranch in the country. And to find out it's been in operation since 1960, clearly it must be good...and it was! Large portions of excellent Texas brisket and great sides. Clearly worth a drive in the countryside.

If you're in the area, you MUST stop by this place! After a long hike at Dinosaur Valley State Park, we built up quite an appetite, and Loco Coyote Grill was nearby, so we went to try it out. I'll admit driving to the place you kinda start to worry about where you are going, but once you get there, it's a hidden gem! We walked into the bar and asked the staff how the seating worked. We learned that on the far left of the building is the bar area where you can get drinks and chips with salsa and the right side of the building is the restaurant. One of the staff members was nice enough to go check us in at the hostess stand, and within about 10 minutes, we were seated. Our waitress was very sweet and answered any questions we had. We placed our orders and waited a little over 30 minutes for our food to come. Tables around us were getting their food, and it smelt so dang good that it was hard to wait. Once the food came though, it was well worth it. They have pretty decent bbq here, we both really enjoyed our brisket, and their bbq is on the sweeter side but has a good complimenting flavor to the brisket. The potato salad was a little heavy with mayo for my taste, but our waitress was kind enough to bring me some mustard to add. Their fried okra was my favorite part of the meal. Their batter was crunchy and a perfect thin coat to not overpower the okra. The only thing I would say was a tiny bummer during the visit was my drink from the bar, I got a Mexican Mule, and it had a weird aftertaste.

This was a pit stop during a hiking excursion for hubs and I. Had good reviews, was on Chet Gardner's list of places to visit (Hubs is a big fan) and was a local establishment. It is by no means fancy which is what makes it a great place to gather. They had plenty of seating indoors or out. Staff were friendly and seating was quick. The atmosphere was eclectic, which I really enjoy because it speaks to the owners vision of community, history, and personal preferences. Prices were typical for a barbeque place. I was disappointed with our queso and chips. Chips were great, but I am not a fan of canned/bagged queso; it was lukewarm to boot. Fries had a good taste, but small portions and also lukewarm. Hubs loved his barbeque burger which I agree looked great; packed with plenty of meat. Margaritas were one of the best I've had in a while; love the mason jar it came in. The location is tucked away in the hills of Glen Rose. A great hang out when you want to just get out and visit with the community and grab a great margarita. There is a cute general store inside as well to grab a quick souvenir. Restrooms are fancy port a potty and not gender specific, so if that matters to you be in the know. We will go back, I need to check out the fried pickles.

Saturday Night Summer: If you're tired of going to crammed, smelly, over-stimulating loud live music, mediocre grub, over-priced-menu BBQ joints....try this place for a change... As an ASD individual it is INSANELY difficult to find a place with such a delicate balance -for my senses to not be overstimulated while trying to focus on enjoying my meal as well. From the little ally-cat greeters hanging around the barn, to the most well-rounded waitresses hustling through, this place has the energy AND grub you need in your life. Try the "PIG OUT"...you'll leave with food for the WEEK at a fantastic price.

Everyone was super friendly, not the fake kind either. Took a bit for the food to come out, but they seemed pretty busy and it was expected. They kept us up to date on status of food coming out. The food was yummy!

A gem of a place right in the country!! Terrific atmosphere and live music, a beautiful outdoor patio, great food, and drinks. Highly recommend stopping here to enjoy!

Loved everything about this bbq place. A hole in the wall for sure. We had a large onion appetizer and when I say large, I mean ginormous. Enough to appease at least 8-10 people. The ribs were very meaty, with a delicious glaze on top. The coleslaw was good and the cheesy corn was okay. It took a little while to get the food but it was certainly worth the wait. The server was sweet and the atmosphere had a great Texas vibe We will for sure come back again.

Arrived at 5:50pm on July 22, 2023. They tried to track someone down to take our order. Order taken at 6:01pm to go since we didn't want to wait 30 minutes for a table. We were quoted about a 30-40 minute wait which I can understand. It is now 6:48pm and no food. We paid $60 for 3 people but at least they gave us a 3% military discount. We were now told an additional 20-25 minutes were needed. Food was ready at 07:13pm. Food was decent, nothing to write home about. Probably won't be back but thankful to be back on the road.

We eat here every chance we get. Get there early and bring your appetite for sure.

It's not the fastest place around, but considering the serving sizes the wait is still worth 5 stars.

I am so glad a friend told me about this place! Definitely off the beaten path but worth finding. Loved the atmosphere The food was delicious. We had the bbq turkey, maybe best smoked turkey ever! Our waitress was amazing, so sweet and attentive. It was warm but she kept the ice coming and us 4 old fogeys did just fine. We all agreed we will be back!

No air conditioning, tons of flies, the best things were chicken fried steak and brisket tacos.

Would definitely venture out here again to try something else. My dad finally got me here on a very warm and humid weekend but I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The barbecue was on par but not exceptional but I really should have got the chicken fried steak anyway. I will try it next time I get to see my dad.

I couldn't believe this place, way out in the middle of nowhere, could be as good as everyone says! But I was happily proved wrong! We went on a Friday evening and there was live music and plenty of patrons. There was a short wait for a table, but there's lots of beautiful country scenery to enjoy outside. Lots of available parking, too. The food did NOT disappoint! I got the Jack BBQ burger with hamburger patty, brisket, fried pickles and onion rings, and Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce. It was HUGE and delicious!! The chicken fried steak was out of this world. Tender, gigantic, flavorful... 10/10! Margaritas were good too. Ambiance inside is fun and eclectic. Kids played out back at the basketball court and enjoyed the fresh air while we waited for our food, which was a considerable wait BUT 100% worth it and understandable when you see and taste the food. Highly recommend to make the drive out and be surprised!

Great place! Food looked great and you will be amazed how big everything is WOW! Unfortunately they were about to close and my chicken tenders were not so good but they had already closed the grill but they gave me 3lbs of brownies instead 🫨🤪🥰 Yummy!!

This place is swarmed with flies, fighting off handful of them at a time. The food took 40 minutes to arrive. Fried okra was room temp and did not taste good. The sliced brisket was pretty much cold. The to-go box was dirty and bugs got in it before I could store the food. Asked for the check, waited for another 10 minutes, the waitress was doing everything but getting our check. Ended up going around looking for a different staff member so we can pay and leave. The staff was inattentive, I don’t think they would have noticed if we just straight up left.

We went on a Saturday and waited 45 minutes to be seated and another 45 minutes to get our food. We had made sure to order as soon as we sat down and someone came over. Our waitress was nice but for the amount of time we had to wait, the food was just average. The atmosphere was nice with stuff to do outside, especially for kiddos. There wasn’t an indoor waiting area so we were happy to be seated before the rain began to pour. I got the chopped bbq chicken sandwich and fried okra. I didn’t care for the bbq sauce on the sandwich because it kind of tasted like A1 sauce. My husband enjoyed his Jack Daniels bbq burger. He said there wasn’t enough bbq sauce on it though. Overall, it was an okay experience.

The Loco Coyote Grill had a crazy long wait for a table and then a long wait for grilled food which was tasty, but not worth 2 hours. The tin roof was very loud under the rain like a coyote whine.
