Old faithful bakery and coffee shop in downtown Maplewood. Kids love the creative cookies. I love the banana bread (GF DF) and La Colombe. In the warm season they have outdoor seating.

This bakery and cakes are soo beautiful that it will cheer up and bring a 😊.. it’s conveniently located near maplewood train station perfect for grab and go of coffee.. the menu is simply delicious and coffee is perfection.. they have soo many cute cupcakes but in good size.. will be a repeat spot for me

There are never enough daily special flavor scones. You seem to run out by 9:00am. What is the purpose of making them if you don't make enough?

Zucchini walnut bread and matcha latte are both delicious! Bread is so moist and has a really good amount of both zucchini and walnuts.

This place is hands down a Jersey staple. Awesome customer service, too. The flavor is amazing!

Ordered cookies on line the evening before May 4th, and went to pick up in my slot the next morning at 0800 as directed by the square website. I never got a confirmation email that my order has gone through, but they charged my credit card. When I was standing in line waiting to get my order a reversal of the charge came through, so it was like i waited for nothing because I now didn't have an order for anything and I had my funds returned. Another customer who was waiting for their order said that if the website runs out of something (based on their projected inventory?) it will cancel your entire order. While the hot item I had placed the order for were the Darth Vader cookies, I also ordered 2 of each StarWars cookies as well as a dozen chocolate chip cookies. Thankfully I was able to place an order when in line, and in person for the rest of the items. The staff here are just very nice to deal with and very caring, even though it wasn't anyones fault, I do wish the Square website dealt with 'out of inventory' better.

My husband and I got the most delicious blueberry crumb cake this morning! The cold brew and cappuccino were great as well. Will definitely return the next time I’m in the area.

Pumpkin chocolate chip loaf and maple latte were amazing but no bathroom was available and there was no indoor seating.

Our favorite local bakery - we thankfully live 15 minutes away, or we’d be here every day! Amazing baked goods - must try the cakes, cookies & pies (and scones)! We also get several loaves of pumpkin chocolate chip bread when in season and freeze so we don’t run out throughout the year!

One of my must visit places when I visit family in NJ. Fantastic baked goods and friendly and helpful staff. It always makes me happy to stop in.

Good customer service, nice to kids, coffee and tea options (hot and iced), beautifully decorated sugar cookies and cupcakes and they are able to discuss food allergies.

Able Baker truly stands out for its exceptional baked goods and delightful atmosphere. Their products are a testament to the dedication and skill of their bakers - each bite is a taste of perfection. From pastries to bread, everything is crafted with care and precision, leaving you wanting more. While the baked goods are a highlight, I did find the coffee to be on the typical milder American side. It's a minor detail, but something that could elevate the experience even further. Additionally, my only quibble was the limited space on the table for milk, and its proximity to the door. It would be wonderful to have a bit more room and a more strategic placement.

Wow what an experience! Cozy and comfortable atmosphere and totally friendly service. Very warm and welcoming. Coffee is excellent! Almond cranberry scone is perfect and We were caught by the Lemon Pound Cake! Sharing with family soon, thank you so much!

Such a great bakery! They have the best scones that I’ve ever had in my life. I genuinely never thought that scones could be moist, flaky, and addictive. The staff is also super nice; great ambience as well.

You don’t buy anything at Able’s Bakery that isn’t delicious. Mostly, it is divine. The December holiday cake called North Pole cake is peppermint and chocolate. Probably the most delicious cake I’ve ever eaten in my 70 years on earth. The other baked goods are fabulous. You pay more and you get more. Highest consistently quality baked goods are here.

It was very good place; perfect to go with tea or coffee.

I live in Montclair, which has some great bakeries, but quite frequently go to Able Baker for pies, cookies and their delicious pop tarts. Worth checking out if you have not been.

Able Baker is one of my favorite bakeries in the world. I kind of feel like I'm stepping into a time machine whenever I walk inside –there's just something really quaint about it. They've also got tons of GF options (including delicious banana bread) and the smell inside is heavenly.

Whatever happened to their scones?? I’ve been an ardent fan of Able Baker for their perfect scones. They have missed the mark three times in a row! Not sure if there’s been a change. I can’t comment on other items, since I used to go there only for scone.

As another reviewer said, disappointing. They seem to use less sugar than other bakeries, which make your dessert less sweet than what one expects. I much prefer Natale’s in Summit.

I used to go here almost every day, since I work right in town! I haven’t been able to go back in a couple of years since their hours are terrible, and don’t offer indoor seating anymore. Such a shame too because their baked goods are unbeatable

Excellent, quaint bakery in my town. Their scones are the best! They melt in your mouth, after tantalizing your taste buds, then the delicious chewed goodness dances down your throat, through your esophagus, into your stomach where it plays a delicate concerto. You will love their mocha iced or hot, but the scones are to die for, they are the stars of the show. Take it from this foodie! As the bakery says on their door; “scones not war.” 😋

I come here every morning for a mocha. I try hard to resist the scones but I often fail because they're so darn good. The Able Baker is part of what makes Maplewood Maplewood!

Great place, friendly, they've set up a Covid-cautious ordering system at their door where you can order and wait outside under their gazebo and then pick up your order at another door. I highly recommend the Blueberry Crumb Cake, even if just one slice.

Never disappointed. Love their banana bread however lately there’s a slight aftertaste of baking soda and less banana-flavor. Their sugar cookies are exceptional so are their scones and other goodies!

Amazing coffee and baked goods.

Their chocolate chip scones were light and had a nice crunch to it. It’s different from all the heavy and dry scones I usually see in cafes. I also ordered a vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream for a birthday celebration. It was moist and not too sweet; perfect to go with tea or coffee.

Delicious offerings abound at this wonderful Bakery. Our Grandson has peanut allergies and The Able Baker has many nut free offerings which are wonderful and allows our little man to enjoy with everyone else. Give them a try and you will return again and again

I love this bakery for so many reasons. Everything they make is delicious! They, however, truly transcend the amazing baked goods they put out. Today they went above and beyond to fix a mistake I’d made with my order. It was an amazing gesture, especially from an incredibly busy business on one of the hottest days of the year. Thank you, Andrea and the entire team at Able Baker. We love and appreciate you!

Nice things..lots of butter which is good but you have to be careful to not over do it...loved going there for years but our once a day $9-14 visits just about ended when they stopped the friendly practice of letting people use they're bathroom.Then with the Covid they shut down and months later when other places were doing what they could to service people they were still closed for months afterwards. A year after that with the State opened for months they were still not letting people in the store last we were passed there. During the Covid luckily one guy in Millburn stayed open..the owner manned the Cafe with one guy in the kitchen for 14 hours a day 7 days a week with in store shopping and open bathroom.It gave us and others some respite to the lock down boredom.

Some of the best tasting baked goods anywhere. Gluten-free / dairy-free options that are also delicious, super friendly and patient staff. Accessibility notes: small somewhat cramped space, last time I was there they were not letting people inside due to covid, there's a small step up so wheelchairs and walkers may have an issue.

I wish I liked this place better bc it is so so so conveniently located and very clean and cute. Service is also fast and friendly (hence the three stars), but the pastries are just...bleh. Too flat and sweet with no dimension. The cupcakes are moist, but boring, and the frosting is all shortening and sugar.

Got a birthday cake one evening for a next day afternoon pickup and it was ready by the next morning! Not to mention - it was delicious. Everyone swooned. The 6” was big enough for 12 people and it is so filling. That butter 🤤 highly recommend.

Cranberry & coconut scone was great. Whole milk latte was weak & wasn’t hot enough. Latte alone is 3*.

If you are looking for healthy delicious food, this is it. I had the Margherita scone wasn't a fan, wish it was warmed up. Sadly, they don't warm them up at least that was cashier told me. I did enjoy their Iced black tea.
