It’s hard to express in words how blown away I was by my experience at Jesto Transmissions. After much researching and opinion seeking I chose Jesto to fix my slipping and leaking automatic trans in my BMW. In life things don’t always go the way we plan or hope. It’s how we respond to those things that truly show one’s character. To say that my BMW rebuild didn’t go as planned is a massive understatement. I don’t attribute the issues that I had to Jesto not being up to the task. There were a LOT of unforeseen issues with parts and logistics. This was actually my daughter’s car that she needed for college and Matt couldn’t have been better, more understanding and more helpful. This car was out of commission far longer than any of us expected but Matt was so wonderful, gracious and MORE than made everything right. It’s so hard to find a good repair shop and even more so a good transmission shop. Jesto is the real deal. They treat you like a real human being. They are very open and honest. I wouldn’t hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend this place. Kudos to you Matt! For any future repairs or just regular transmission service, this is the place I am going to! Lastly and despite all the delays, the car is shifting and driving amazingly.

Jesto fit me in the same day I dropped off the car, & although I had to wait a day for a dealer part to arrive, I was pleased with the affordable price & candidness throughout the entire process. Jesto was recommended to me by another auto repair shop in town who said that’s where his family members go for repairs—a high ringing endorsement in my book—and they did not disappoint. The car seems to shift smoother than I can remember which is awesome.

Was referred to Matt by another shop for my transmission repair. They stayed in communication with me, quoted me $1500-$2200 in repairs and the total ended up being just over $1300. Took it back thinking something they had did was causing my vehicle to drive rough he facetimed me and went over and checked everything he touched/replaced as soon as my car got to the shop, confirming this issue was not related to what he had done. He kept my vehicle overnight and continued to look into the problem and update me the next day. Was told i’d have to take it back to the shop that referred me to him and he agreed to even let my car stay there for 4 days until my appointment so i can have it towed since i live close to an hour away from his shop. One of the best experiences i’ve had with an auto repair shop and would recommend 100 times.

I’m coming up on 100,000 miles on the transmission they rebuilt me, and done many other things for my vehicles. I won’t go anywhere else in Tampa.

If you want to be able to drive your car after getting it fixed, then do not bring your car here. I’ve never had a more horrible experience in my life with a business. I bought my car in to get my transmission repaired and not even two days later, my car exploded in a fire. I can’t believe this place is still open. I’ve tried calling multiple times, and they hung up on my me the first time after I explained the situation and requested refund. The manager told me there was nothing he could do to help me and wasn’t going to refund me. I’m getting a lawyer.

A couple of years ago I was having a problem with my Subaru transmission. The dealership wanted way too much to fix. Took to Jesto , Owner had it looked at and tried to find a reconditioned part to no avail. The recommendation from the owner. Not an essential part, the only downside was I wouldn't get as good of gas mileage. I don't drive that much so decided to leave as is. Not only was the owner very honest with me he filled the cars fluids at no charge. I wish I remembered his first name but I do remember he had the cutest little pup named Gizmo in the office. If you want a honest assessment of anything transmission wise don't hesitate to make an appointment with Jesto Transmission.

Trusting my car to Jesto after I hit a pothole was the biggest mistake I’ve made. After hitting the pothole it was apparent there was a leak in the transmission fluid pan. Even though I was able to find the replacement part online myself for $200 I was told it was a $460 part, but instead of replacing it completely, he could weld and do the repairs himself same day for $350. I asked if this repair would be safe and if it would last and I was assured he would not have offered it as an option unless he believed it so. Less than a month later my car is leaking again and the metal guard under my car is dragging as I drive leaving it in worse condition I brought it in with. When I brought it back I was told he “told me he couldn’t guarantee how long it was going to hold up,” the exact opposite of what was actually said to me, and that if I wanted it fixed I would need to pay $850 for a part I found once again much cheaper myself online, but that he would “not charge me for labor.” Obviously he is overcharging for parts under the guise of free labor, an absolute scam. I’m now not only completely out of the money I’ve already invested into this repair but my car is still unable to be driven. He is unwilling to help or stand by his work or recommendations and completely lied to me about words that came out of his own mouth. Maybe my silly woman brain was just not able to comprehend what was actually being done or needed to be done, but I cannot recommend going literally anywhere else fast enough.

I went to another local transmission shop initially and they told me I needed a whole new transmission for $3,400. I then went to Matt at Jesto Transmission and he diagnosed it same day and told me it was the Torque Converter and don't need to change or rebuild entire Transmission. Saved me a bunch of money and time. Matt is very honest and knowledgeable. I would not go anywhere else. Several independent repair shops in the local Tampa area also recommended Jesto Trabnsmissions. My vehicle running smooth now. Thank you Matt!

My truck broke a transmission cooler hose in Tampa on a Sunday afternoon and I live in fort Myers Matt answered after hours and helped me out so I had the tow truck bring it to him he took care of my problem in the days following for the amount of money I was expecting not over priced at all they do good work

I cannot describe how this is the best transmission place in the country. They don't try to rip you off, their prices are reasonable, and they do fantastic work! I have never been able to say this about any car repair facility anywhere at any time. Until now.

He fix my transmission repair yeah it cost a lot of money but he did a great job he fixed my transmission Buick Park Avenue 1995 supercharged I'll had pay 2200.00 but it was worth it because it's not about the money its about the job he did n give me 1 year warranty

DO NOT HESITATE! Say YES when deciding whether or not to take your business here! I could not wait to get to my computer and write this review. I just left his shop not 2 hours ago with my Infiniti Q50 with a wish and a prayer that the $2000 repair to my transmission would be covered under my not so highly rated extended warranty. I am living in a hotel due to water damage to my home and just spend 2 out of the last 4 weeks with my son in the hospital. I have never had a repair need to my Q50 from the day I bought it and this issue at this cost at this time in my life put me over the edge. As soon as I explained the issue and he got the mileage on my car he immediately identified that he may be able to get me covered at the dealership with the original warranty. I thought - no way it expired 2 years ago? How can this be. Well he called the dealership and sure enough this particular issue was extended under the original warranty and based on my mileage I was still covered!!!! OMG! I needed a miracle and he gave it to me. Rather than take my money he helped a single mom find a FREE answer to something (I would have had no idea was even a possibility) and he sent me to the dealership for my COVERED REPAIR. THIS IS HONEST BUSINESS! If I ever need ANY future work that is not covered he will have my business. TRUST THIS SHOP YOU WON'T REGRET IT! - Sincerely and forever grateful

I can't say enough good things about this business. My transmission needed repairs and my mechanic recommended this place as honest and fair. My husband called and spoke to the owner who gave him a time frame as to when he'd be able to fix it. Due to COVID and shipping delays, he said it would take about 2 weeks to repair. In the meantime, he gave us his personal cell number to stay in contact and answer any questions we might have had and said to call or text anytime, any day. Talk about customer service!!! My vehicle was ready in the time promised, no hidden fees and in fact, they fixed another problem with my vehicle for no extra charge!! I highly recommend Jesto for any transmission repairs. It's hard to find good, honest people/mechanics these days!!

I am beyond impressed and grateful for Matt, at Jestos. I typically use the same mechanic, who also happens to be my best friend, for all of my automotive needs (if I can afford to make the drive back to Orlando) including buying and selling vehicles. However, my transmission stopped shifting past 2nd while I was driving up I-275 from my home in St Pete to my office in Tampa. I chose Jestos after calling four different highly rated & reviewed shops because Matt took his time with me, despite me calling minutes before he closed shop, and provided his cell phone and accommodations for drop off that went above and beyond service expectations. Futhermore, he took time with me after providing his assessment to listen to my particular circumstances and ultimately lent advice that was in my best interest, and helped me decide against investing in the vehicle and instead selling it. Not only did he give me his honest advice that hurt his chance of sale, he was very understanding and polite, despite his yard being full and the fact that Jestos free inspection did not lead to a job but instead took just took up space and time. I oddly wish the circumstances were different and I could give Jestos my business at this time, but I surely will be taking any future needs here and will be an outspoken proponent of this shop moving forward! This is by far the absolute BEST place to take your vehicle for anything transmission related!!! I worked at a Lexus dealership for over 15 years and have owned a Lexus for over 20 years now. The dealership I trusted for years told me my transmission was needing replaced at a cost of over $7000.00 for the job and about 2-3 weeks to repair. I went to Jesto’s for a second opinion and was told my transmission was fine. I just broke a piece of it. I’m driving my vehicle after only 5 days and is running great and back on the road for $2400.00. They where so kind and understanding and most importantly they where HONEST something we as consumers never get anymore and I really want to commend them for theirs!!! Keep up the amazing job Matt!!

Matt and team is absolutely awesome!!! I drove from Texas to Florida and the day I arrived my shift cable broke. I have never worked with an auto shop where the customer service exceeded excellence. Matt was courteous, considerate, and very fair with his prices and fixed my car in a timely manner. He has an awesome sense of humor as well! 🤗 I highly recommend his shop.

The throwout bearing on my 2013 Subaru WRX blew up on me while driving. This basically requires a full clutch job to happen as the labor to get to the throwout bearing is the same as getting to the clutch, so you might as well just do the clutch while you're at it. I've done this job myself before but I'm busy and didn't want to deal with it, so I bought my own clutch kit off Amazon and called around to 7 or 8 shops. Two or three of the shops came in around $1000-$1200 in labor alone to replace my clutch. Two shops came in from $800-$1000. The cheapest three came in at $665, $600, and $575. Jesto's was the only shop that included tax in the price and came in the cheapest at $575. The phone call was quick and painless. There was a human on the other line that was personable, and the person knew what my car was which is refreshing. Engine and Transmission Center replied to my email telling me that my car's transmission is an automatic, didn't need a clutch, and that they wanted a technician to take a look at my car. 90% of WRXs do not come in an automatic and it was a bit insulting that they just jumped to tell me that I'm wrong and that I don't need a clutch without them first asking what the problem is or why I think I need a clutch. I didn't feel this way at Jesto. Taking the car in was refreshing as well. We had nice conversation. Matt seemed genuinely interested to get to know me. He was upfront about potential issues that he's seen in the past doing similar jobs like mine. It took only a day and a half to complete the job, it was ridiculously cheap compared to other options, and as someone who performs 90% of the work on his own car (such as radiator change, timing belt, a previous clutch job, etc), I had no indication of the shop trying to upsell me on things that I don't need like I've felt at other shops. I highly recommend Jesto.

My Transmission is not shifting and they checked it out and found it to be a faulty crankshaft sensor. They diagnosed it with their computer and found no transmission issues. I was highly surprised when they did not charge me one cent which is really amazing. They are very customer service oriented and I highly recommend them for their honesty and professionalism.

Definition of a bad day: the truck you bought yesterday to move across the states for work just lost every gear, is still your only transportation, and you have to start work tomorrow. Thank God that Matt (the owner) was understanding and more than helpful in everything from fair pricing to assisting me in my financing options and quick turn around time. They gave me a price and finished at the same price, no gouging or nickle and diming. The stars must have aligned because in less than 24 hours I had my truck running perfectly with a completely rebuilt transmission (with a long warranty) and high quality parts (including the synthetic fluid). They even identified other problems with my truck and gave me the real-world assessment of problems without trying to sell me more stuff. I left knowing I did well to find this mechanic on my first day in town. If he can do the work, I would take my vehicle to him for it. And I place a lot of importance of the "quality of person" I do business with in all my transactions; this shop has good, honest people. They earned all 5 stars and I would recommend their service. Also, military friendly and appreciative.

Jesto Transmission is bar none the best shop I’ve had the pleasure of doing business with ever. Matt and his crew are the best in the business and do the absolute best work of its kind anywhere. My son had transmission issues with his 07 Honda Civic and Matt tested it gave me an honest and completely accurate diagnosis and told us what needed to be done. We followed his instructions to the letter and had the work completed. Matt is by far the best priced shop in town and he treats people the old fashioned way, with honor and integrity. That is in rare supply these days as most shops see dollar signs when people come through their door. I went to Matt's shop for a fairly routine service. I was having the rear engine seal replaced in my 2000 Lexus LX 470. While following standard procedure of disconnecting the battery, an error occurred between my key and ignition system. In simple terms, the car's computer forgot how to crank itself. Matt stuck with this problem through trial and tribulation resulting in a fully operational vehicle. Not Easy! When I went to pick the car up and pay for the original work, a rear engine seal replacement, Matt would not accept my payment. He said because of the inconvience I went through, he did not feel right charging me. You gotta be kidding me! Customer service like this today. 5 stars isn't enough. Matt and Jesto transmission are awesome! Brought in my 2002 f250 7.3 because the transmission case cracked down the middle spilling fluid everywhere. They put a new case on and rebuilt the transmission in 3 days. Also gave me a great recommendation on a place to bring my driveshaft to get redone. Awesome service and people!

Great service by the owner and good price

I have a 2014 Nissian Sentra i brought to them back in 2017 when i wen ti my deployment because it just died on me. They fixed it and charged me $2700 for a new transmission from Nissan themselves. which then died recently, however i brought it back to them, and he was willing to fix it again. so he gets on the phone with Nissan on serrate occasions to see if they will provide another transmission free of charge, because mine died on me right after the warranty expired (Perfect Timing Nissian). However no luck with them. they said no it'll be another $2700 for a new trans, so then Jesto tole me they will order the parts and fix it. So then i asked the big questions " How Much?" He told me don't worry about it. So then i just say okay i mean i have to pay what i need to pay so i can trade in this thing you call a car. Then 8 days go by, I get a call " hey your car is ready" so i show up, and he says the key is in the car. I'm like " Okay how much do I owe?" his reply " Nothing free of charge". my car is in great condition, and thanks to them their hospitality i am able to get around once again. They are very reliable people, and from what i know they are family owned and the owner himself is always there. he is very personable, i highly recommend with no hesitation.

I thought I had a problem with my transmission so I called and was told to bring it in for an evaluation. I was greeted by the owner, he had one of his techs evaluate the car by scanning the computer and an extensive test drive. Tech advised considering the mileage and not being able to detect anything wrong it would be best not to do anything. My experience was these people are very honest and friendly. I highly recommend this business. When it comes to transmission service always select a shop that only works on transmissions and have a good and long reputation.

My 2016 ford fusion in the morning was shifting hard till it warmed up so had AAA drop it off last Wednesday said he probably have it ready Friday I was skeptical but waited sure enough Friday he said was ready when I picked it up and drove off on the highway car started acting up i said omg then i look my gas tank was emptyyyyy so i filled up and car stopped acting up transmission is shifting great jestro did a wonderful job thank you jestro two thumbs up ✌✌✌✌😘

This is hands down one off the best transmission shops around. Matt and his crew truly care about their customers. I had my tranny rebuilt years ago and since then it’s never been right. It finally went and I took my jeep to Jesto’s. I was quoted a fair price and decided to have them do the rebuild. They were already dealing with a botched job from the last place that rebuilt it so it took a bit longer. I got the call that it was done and went to pick it up. Something didn’t seem right but I just keep driving back to work because I was late getting back. I called Matt when I got back to work, explained things to him and he immediately sent 2 of his guys to come pick it up and see what the problem was. A few days later he said everything was running perfectly and the jeep was ready. He even had one of the guys deliver my jeep to me at work, plus filled my tank. He did everything in his power to make things right, from offering to rent me a vehicle to fixing things on my jeep, at his expense. I have never been treated that well by a shop before. I 110% recommend this shop. They care so much about their customers, it’s nice to know that there are still honest shops around. Don’t think twice about coming to Jesto’s, don’t waste your time looking for another shop, I can guarantee that no other shop will go above and beyond like Matt and his crew did. Had my 2000 F-150 4x4 with a rare 5 speed in this past week for a new clutch, and all the parts that go along with it. (slave, pressure plate, throw out, master cylinder and flywheel). I'm back on the road and my clutch feels better than new! I could probably buy another truck, but why? Jesto made mine new again! These guys are outstanding. I was so impressed with them taking care of me not just as another customer, but as family. Matt was great and always communicated timely with the progress on this repair. Charlie, my service tech, did a great job! Cant's say enough about finding a real, honest repair shop for transmissions. Forget the rest, they'll only add on to any estimate they give you once your vehicle is sitting in a hundred pieces and you don't have a choice anymore.. My 2002 Focus' transmission fell apart and Jesto came to my rescue. I called around several places and got a referral here from a mechanic I trusted. They came and towed my car to their shop (which was about 20 miles). Since my transmission is manual, they set me up with a used transmission, throwout bearing, and clutch. It only took them a few days to do the whole job. Their prices are good, and the owner (very friendly guy) even said the tow was on him. I would definitely recommend Jesto for any transmission issues you have.

The bad news I needed a new transmission!!! The good news I was referred to Ken at Jesto!! The only thing I know about cars is to turn the key off and on so I am easy prey when it comes to repair. Ken and his team under promised but over performed. Have transmission?! I highly recommend Jesto!!

When I had my BMW clutch problem, all other auto repair shops quoted the repair in the thousand dollar range. Jesto fixed for a very reasonable price. I've remembered and appreciated Jesto's honest pricing and its quality workmanship. Now, I have a Scion clutch problem and Jesto, again, fixed the problem at a very reasonable price. They kept me informed of the clutch repair issues. It was more problematic then expected. They didn't charge me for the extra parts and time spent on the repair. I have a 2000 BMW 740i L that needed a new transmission at about 155,000 miles. I was recommended to JESTO by Preferred Auto, who are my regular mechanics and who I trust. When I picked up the car, it seemed to have what felt to me like "air pockets" when shifting into 2nd/3rd gear. It did not seem to happen at speeds under 40, so it was hard to make it re-happen when I took the car back in. The guys there were very determined to make it right and even did more work that was beyond the call of duty. It did take a few weeks to finally make the determination that my old computer needed to be completely re-set. Outcome, was that when I got my car back 4 days it, it was running better than new!! It's perfect! Bottom line, I would highly recommend this company, as they are determined to make each customer walk away feeling they got their money's worth and more!
