If you've never been here for ice cream I definitely recommend it, but beware. If you can't eat a lot or don't eat much ice cream you should definitely get a baby size. I always get a small because.... Well, I never learn. It's so good!! lol The flavor in the picture was a new one called "Gone Fishing" 👍

Got a kiddie peanut butter cup ice cream for me and a small soft vanilla for my granddaughter. The scoops were more than enough and large. It was our dinner! It was not overly priced.

The best ice cream on the west side of Rochester in the town of Gates. I recommend the banana split ice cream boat. There are also many types of flavors and sizes so choose wisely. They only take cash for all orders.

Yummy ice cream treats for the whole family. Even the kiddie size is huge. Even my dog enjoyed her doggie ice cream topped with a biscuit. Many outside tables to sit at.

Crazy serving sizes and a fun atmosphere. Parking can be a little tight but they have recently expanded parking into the back lot. They also provide ice cream trucks for private parties!

Good cold ice cream with a great variety, ALWAYS great. When you see out the door waiting lines, you should remember there is a reason the food IS fantastic. 🙂

I absolutely love Lugia’s! This ice cream shop has so many options you’ll have trouble deciding. My favorite is their banana split and my mom’s is a sundae. The team works quickly to get through the lines and the treats never disappoint. I bring my friends here as a treat and I recommend you do to!

Decent ice cream. I came here on Sunday around 6:30pm. It was very busy and long lines of customers. It took awhile for my turn to order. I got kiddie side which is 2 big scoops of 2 flavors: strawberry cheesecake and black raspberry. The staff somehow skipped my order and prepared the next custom ice cream instead. Once they realized it, they got my ice cream, but it took some decent time waiting. They had good size of parking lot and plenty seats in the back for customers. Ice cream was good, but can be creamier. They took cash only.

Bring an empty stomach to eat ice cream here 😋. THIS is how I would serve ice cream if I owned a scoop joint! It's cash only. It cost us $45.00 for 4 people with our serving sizes ranging from the single scoop to large. They serve soft custard to flavored hard serve. We ate it all up before I could even think about taking a picture. Sorry.

Ice cream is amazing, they have huge sizes for the money, and the overall atmosphere is amazing with tables around the back, and an amazing flag area for you to sit and eat your desert.

Came here for the first time 3 years ago, been literally dreaming about it since. Today we got to come back and the memory did not do it justice. Ice cream is fantastic. The ambience is so chill and the outdoor eating area is awesome. Serving size is MASSIVE!

Wish there was more parking and seating but me and my son go every week after his soccer. There 30+ flavor options for ice cream is amazing plus milkshakes, sundaes etc. love summers because that's when it's open!

My order was to our like in , the only thing is, I personally like my ice cream sandwiches soft and the ice cream sandwiches at Lugias are hard like a rock… the cookie is crunch, crunch, crunch and is not for me at all. But there is people out there that might appreciate a crunchy ice cream sandwich, not ME. Also cash ONLY and I spend 25.00 on one kiddie with a nuts cone and hard shell chocolate cover, one baby and the ice cream sandwich. Oh! one more thing lines are long super long, do not leave for that it moves fairly quick.

Whoooah! Lugia’s is a must try, because you’ll try try again and again. My husband had the blueberry cheesecake and I had queen of hearts & mint chocolate chip (1/2&1/2). Flavors blended well together. Generous portions. Great service and pleasant atmosphere.

Ice cream is very good, but $$$$, not like it's original years when large portions and little cost made their reputation. Just as expensive or more than anywhere else you can go to in Rochester. Go once, then shop local, or get your supermarket ice cream. You really need extra $$ for a family of 4.

Always generous portions! We recently went to Abotts frozen custard and in expressing disappointment at their portion size, the worker said,"We aren't Lugias." Lol! No one else can compare.

Probably the worse vegan ice cream I've ever had. Tastes like playdough and then has a nasty after taste. Don't go here. Overpriced. Disgusting ice cream. Only takes cash in 2024.

Lugia's never fails to please! The variety of hard ice cream flavors is vast with new weekly offerings! They also have soft serve, Frank's Italian Ice and more. There's a beautiful outdoor seating area to be enjoyed by all. Lots of space for families/children to roam freely!

My family is addicted to their ice cream. Brace yourself.....the portions are massive and the ice cream is divine. Suggestion to start a support group to help people get through the off season.

Love there chocolate chip with chocolate sprinkles, wish I could go daily. I am lactose intolerant but I risk it all for that ice cream. Only thing better was Friendly's. Definitely recommend.

Great products, but cash only puts in the point of understanding how the business operates put me in a unique osition to understand how a single food swrvixes business that opwrates on cash only system put in my college experience and my current food service experience put in the lots of question on this business to be successful.

We love Lugia's - come here one or twice a month in the Summertime - the place always has a line and I have yet to have a bad experience (admittedly, a bad experience with ice cream is hard to imagine...) Staff is always cheerful - portions are always generous, and the place always has the energy of a bunch of sugared-up kids of all ages!

It was Monday and a hot 89° as we waited in line. I had one scoop of maple walnut ice cream in a cone. It was a generous scoop with lots of walnuts!! What a delicious taste with each lick. Also, friendly service with a smile. If you don't mind the drive, go the extra mile. It's worth every spoonful or lick!!

Butter pecan. I need not say more. Oh wait - waffle cone! Lugia's is the place to get ice cream in the Rochester area, and everyone knows it. I've been lucky to get the truck out at work events or other events in the summer month. The first time I ordered a cone, I got a "kiddie. " I thought they'd made a mistake. Needless to say, I now order a "baby" cone regularly. Very generous portions, so be aware! I'm not telling anything new. Next time I will not attack my ice cream and take a picture. Maybe.

They have fair prices and good size servings. Customer service comes off as if some employees are racist. They are a cash only spot, they made us wait for a person to go to their car to grab cash before they let us order, although they write down every order and again you pay cash. Then we had extreme wait times compared to customers around us who weren't brown skin. Even the customer who ordered after us noticed and said something to how long we had to wait. My son was served the wrong order and when he said something they basically did nothing about it and said oh well. It was our first time coming and will be the last, didn't feel like I was welcome anyway.

Pros: Good ice cream, more than generous portions, friendly employees, a clean service area, plenty of outdoor seating, well-maintained, vegan options. *I highly recommend the vegan pineapple soft serve!* Cons: One scoop of ice cream is more expensive than 1.25 quarts at the grocery store. We do wish they offered a smaller option (preemie instead of baby? or "grandparent," maybe? LOL) for half the cost. Still, it's worth a couple visits a year to support an iconic locally-owned business. Bonus: Lugia's flies several flags on their property -- an American flag, a POW flag, a flag honoring police officers, firefighters, and U.S. servicemembers. Today, in addition to those flags, they had a Pride flag. We're unsure if the pride flag flies all the time or if it's flying specifically for Pride month (which is celebrated in July in our neck of the woods, unlike most places that commemorate Pride in June). It doesn't escape us that most places that fly flags honoring the military and law enforcement would *not* also fly a rainbow flag. And it did not escape us that Lugia's was flying both. If we weren't going to return for any other reason, we will return specifically because we appreciate this show of inclusion!

Always a family favorite. Perfect place to stop by for a treat after a nice afternoon lunch. They don't have traditional sizes though!! Haha make sure to look at their posters/signage when you're there so you see their sizes. First time I went I almost ordered a medium but thankfully my family pointed out their sizes and I was able to adjust to a kiddie size (2 scoops)which was more appropriate for what I was looking for. Only sad part is that eventually they close for the season, but definitely worth visiting 10/10!!!!

Our company recently had Lugia's on Wheels serve ice cream at an employee appreciation event. Not only did they serve at our 4 facilities, they served all 3 shifts. They were on time and very friendly toward our employees. Sherry was amazing in helping us set this up. But the best part was definitely the ice cream! We can't wait to have them back!

Absolutely "Hands Down!" the best ice cream I've ever tasted. Also, the amount you get is humongous, and although there can be as many as 3 lines at a time, the lines move quickly and the staff is always friendly and efficient....

I love LuGia's, it is always fun to go here for ice cream! My only complaint is that the ice cream serving sizes vary widely depending on who's serving you. A couple nights ago we went with friends... I ordered (and paid more for) a small (three scoops) and my better half ordered a kiddie (two scoops). Unfortunately my portion was not noticeably bigger, certainly not half again as big, and that was really disappointing as LuGia's typically has been known for generous portions... Also the prices seem to have increased significantly making it not as good a value as it used to be. But still a fun place for an ice cream!

So this ice cream is huge....a kiddie cone here is like a large...cash only and please be patient while in line..oh Vegan options as well 😊

Ice cream is reasonable. They had an event there with vendors and a flea market. Flea market was on the small side and the vendors wanted 12 a burger. Nice outside seating area to eat.

Idk if our order was old, but the fruity pebble taco was very soft, almost soggy. After visiting multiple times, I still don't see what the hype is about other than the sizes. 🫢
