The lamb biryani was the best I've ever had, and the mo:mo was really tasty. A wonderful dining experience overall!

I had never eaten at a Lebanese restaurant before. The waitress was kind and helped me order. I said I like lamb, and I like a medium spice level. The food was delicious, and the portion was more than I could eat. An all around great experience.

Out in Baltimore, I am visiting my sister for the week and excited to see what the city has to offer as far as food goes. One place my sister raved about was Lumbini. She doesn't have the same palette as I do for food, but when she mentioned a buffet for $16, she was definitely speaking my language! The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown, and it is dripped out in Indian/Nepalese decor. Really tall ceilings, there are plenty of seats, and even a full functioning bar in the back. My favorite detail in the Lumbini is the huge chandelier hanging in the front of the restaurant. Service was great. There was only one person taking orders and running food out, but it wasn't incredibly busy. Most people were coming for the buffet, and there was no need to take orders for that. The waitress just showed me where the plates were, and I went to work! Wow people the food here is phenomenal, and they have such a wide variety of options for the buffet that it is absolutely a steal. My personal favorites were the Chicken Curry, Chicken Tikka, Sang Paneer, and the Samosas. Everything here was amazing. It is somewhere you have to go when visiting Baltimore!

Lumbini Restaurant was great. I didn't know it was located close to me. I walked in they were playing soothing cultural music. Before we ordered we received some water for the table. Their menu has great coverage of food. I chose the Chicken Tikka Masala, mildly hot, with samosa, Garlic Naan, and a Mango Lassi. It was all great, so flavorful and delicious. What was even greater was the waiter's hospitality and service. We weren't able to eat all of it so they offered to go plates. Thank you for your hospitality! See you again.

Good Indian food at the heart of Baltimore. Service staff and Chef is awesome, ensure buffet is served fresh and sufficient despite we arrived late. Best hospitality, ambience and delicious vegetarian options. Keep up teh good work !!!

This has become one of my favorite lunch stops in the area. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is super pleasant and friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for having a relaxing quiet lunch alone or with friends/coworkers. The lunch buffet offers many options and is a must try as well. This is one I’ll certainly return to. Please give them a try!

I love living on the same block as this Indian/Nepali restaurant on Charles St. I highly recommend it. They have a solid command of the Indian food basics, reasonable prices, and always provide courteous, attentive service. The lunch buffet is great, whether you sit down for a meal or pay by the pound for a takeout container. The by-the-pound deal is excellent whether you want a full lunch or just a snack. Their online ordering app works well, sending me deals and promos that motivate me. It's a neighborhood treasure, and I'm glad to support it.

Went to Lumbini’s stall in Lexington Market. The chicken tikka masala came recommended to me and it was excellent! Added a little hot sauce for some heat. The rice is lightly sweet, so it was a great combination.

Truly a hidden gem. I’ve never had better baingan bharta, and the tandoori sauce is incredible.

Located right in the Inner Harbor, Lumbini has excellent, authentic Indian food! We got the lamb biryani and lamb korma and devoured it in minutes. The service is quick and the restaurant is very clean. We would absolutely come back!

Nice atmosphere, service was average. Some interesting new dishes to try, but not overall impressed by flavor, spice, or greasiness.

The place is a run down one with dirty worn carpets and stained tablecloths. We ordered chicken tikka and it tasted terrible.rice serving was small and it was over priced. Service was slow and there were only 4 of us in the restaurant. After talking to some Indian colleagues found out that this wasn’t even an Indian restaurant but some nepal food.

Firstly this is NOT an Indian restaurant it is nepali. The food seems like one of those 2 minute pre packed meals you get at the supermarkets1 lacking flavour and freshness, The buffet is served COLD and it takes ages for them to fill out the empty trays. The desserts- the gulab jamun is a canned one and the “kheer” is as good as cardboard. Really bad food even though hill ordering an la carte- ordered navratan korma and it turned out to be a bunch of frozen peas and carrots with SWEET CORN in an extremely sweet sauce without any flavor. I’ve never seen a korma recipe with sweet corn . They didn’t have a morsel of cashews/potatoes/paneer in it. Would NOT recommend

Wonderful atmosphere and a lovely hostess/waitress who was on top of everything in a snap. The lamb kormas and chicken biryani are both delicious and the samosas are amazing. When I come back to Baltimore I’m definitely coming back here.

This is our go-to place for Indian/Nepalese cuisine. Worth the trip into Baltimore from the suburbs. The food is always delicious and the service is always friendly. Our favorites are the Veggie Samosas, Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer and Chicken Vindaloo. We really need to visit more often so that we order other dishes more often. We've never had anything we didn't like. They spice to order correctly too, so everyone's happy. Note: the pictures others have posted and the pictures on Lumbini's online menu are accurate. The food really does look that good as well as taste fantastic.

Good, authentic, flavorful food....then this is the place!!! I love good food...and Lumbini's food is consistently good. I've tried other Indian restaurants all over Baltimore & MD....none compare to this place. I've moved out of the area, and still come Friday or Sunday for take out nearly every week. Sans the unkempt location and anesthetics, please don't be put off...the food is worth it. And the service is kind and prompt. #LumbiniRestaurant, #GoodEats

As a South Asian, it is difficult to find South Asian places that truly make me feel like home in the US. So I am really glad that I found Lumbini! The food is amazing. The butter chicken is the best I've had and the chicken Tikka is really good too. They also have a halal lunch buffet which has great options as well. Highly recommend!

This is a great restaurant in the heart of the business district in Baltimore. I went for the lunch buffet. All you can eat Indian for $15 dollars, it was amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. This might be my go to jury duty lunch spot from now on.

This place is amazing, it has such a very peaceful, zen, tranquil vibe to it plus the food is delicious and freshly made, they also have a $15 dollar all you can eat buffet from 11a.m to 3p.m through out the weekdays 😋🍽🥟🍛🧆

Fantastic chicken Tikka and when ordered spicy, it was just spicy enough. The garlic naan was good but not quite as much garlic as I would have liked.

Food was amazing and service was even better if that's possible! Arrived 30 minutes before the lunch buffet ended (at 3 pm) and the server was so attentive and asked us for anything that we wanted and they made more of it for us. $14.99 for the lunch buffet and it looks like it's available until 3 pm every day (even though it says Mon-Fri to 230 pm). Definitely worth it!

We had delicious Tandoori Roti (vegan),Aloo Gobi Masala ( vegan), and Lamb Rogan Josh. All food was hot, delicious, and perfectly cooked. The spice level was perfect for us and the service was fantastic by Srivalli. Would absolutely come back. Loved that they had vegetarian, dairy free, and vegan options. It made it very easy to order.

Great food, great service. Vegan options! Was in town attending a vegan festival (woohoo Vegan Soul Fest!) that was so well attended the lines for food were way too long. So we needed to find something to eat. Found this little spot on N Charles and when we walked in, we were the only folks in the place. Menu is very good. Lots of delicious choices including several fully vegan options. I had a vegan samosa, poori bread and a chickpea and rice dish that was exquisitely prepared. Service was excellent and portions were generous. I didn’t have a cocktail but it appears a full bar and a decent wine selection are available.

This place has the best butter chicken I’ve ever eaten. I haven’t been there in 10 years since I moved away, and I still think about it. Everything I ever eat is rated on a 0 to Lumbini I scale. (Must get the dinner version.)

Been here twice so far and I love it. The food is really delicious and the service is friendly. First time I went, I had a lovely chat after dinner with staff and management about how they make their Nepali Tea--so good! This visit, I ordered Paneer (cubes of cottage cheese in sauce with green peas), Garlic Naan, Nepali Tea, and Mango Lassi. All were great. The naan was very slightly on the crispier side than I usually prefer, but still satisfying nonetheless, so no complaints from me. The Paneer dish came with white rice and was very satisfying, the Mango Lassi is universally delicious, and the Nepali Tea is something I highly recommend. My friend ordered a Goat Curry, which she shared and which was also really tasty. Bone-in, tender, and wonderfully satisfying. Service-wise, they're friendly and check in regularly without being invasive. Wouldn't ask for more. Atmosphere is small but elegant, culturally inviting, and intimate. Parking is nearby street or garage parking. Overall, I really Ike this place and recommend it to people going to downtown Baltimore. 5/5 stars from me.

OBSESSED with Lumbini. My buddy used to live around the corner and we'd always order takeout from here but he moved away so now I drive 15 minutes to pick up takeout here even though I live within a quarter mile of 2 decent Indian places. The Hyderabadi Chicken dish is the best- creamy, buttery, cashew cream chicken dish. Very mild, almost sweet, it's perfection and I've never had anything like it anywhere else. They also make it with lamb. Their chicken Tikka masala is also good. I'm not a spice gal so it's great for me and my kid. My husband has had some of their dishes spicy and he says they're awesome too. Fast service and they give a takeout discount if you order from their website.

We were actually the only folks dining there (some people stopped by to pick up food). The service was slow, esp given we were the only ones. Apart from that, the service was friendly, food was incredible, nepali tea was great. A bit in the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. Genuine, authentic Nepali food that is delicious

This is the best Indian restaurant I've found in Baltimore. Their Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan, and Chai are my favorite. The portions are large enough that, with an order of naan, I have enough left over for another meal later. The staff are friendly and service is quick. I come here whenever I'm in downtown.

The dorset tones of "expensive" Nepali pop stars greet you as you enter the ornately-adorned dining sanctuary. Private seating and friendly staff ensures that every dining experience is the crown jewel in your trip's empire. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and the paneer tikka masala and the staff was happy to accommodate our need for additional vegetables. Wu-Tang Clan would be jealous of the CREAM content in the succulent yet spicy sauce. A must-eat for local food enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike.

I have had better garlic naan (it was not bad, just ok). The Malekhu Fish Curry, however, was one of the best dishes I have had anywhere. I ordered one-level below highest heat and it was plenty spicy. The fish was cooked perfectly. It looked and tasted much better than the menu picture. It was absolutely awesome. Nice climate. Great service.

Unfortunately didn't have a good experience with the food here. I've never seen food before that looked so good but had absolutely no flavor at all. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Rice and nothing had any taste to it, no seasoning or spice or anything, really disappointing. And before anyone says anything, no I did not have Covid because I ate other food before and after this and that food tasted normal. Maybe other options on the menu taste good but I'm not very hopeful.

Lamb was chewy and dry. Masala was the color of red spaghetti sauce (see my photo comparing the color with the red of an Altoids box) and the flavor was not vibrant and fresh tasting. I requested no MSG via the delivery app (not knowing whether or not they use such a thing). Disappointing. Likely won't be returning.

After I finished shopping downtown Baltimore, I decided to treat my assistant and myself to what I thought was my favorite restaurant in all of Baltimore. Whelp, that’s no longer the case. 1st our order was wrong. I order a Vegan Aloo dish medium spicy, while my assistant ordered chicken sagg mild spicy. We received Aloo mild spicy very little spices and chicken masala SPICY. I explained to the gentleman at the register that our was prepared improperly, he expressed same to our server who was very defensive while explaining what we ordered. After several attempts to bring to her attention where she mistakenly put the wrong order, I requested a menu, read out loud the description of each item we ordered. Then and only then is when she admitted her wrong. Ugh. After receiving what we ordered food which wasn’t as tasty as what I’m accustomed to from this establishment since 2009 I requested for the bill. Yes the order was updated and the previous meal was deducted from our bill, Nonetheless, the what I ordered from the menu is listed as 15.95 I was charged 18.95. When I inquired about the discrepancy, both cashier and waitress pointed out a statement posted on front of menu, prices increased with a list of few items and the cost. No where on that list was meal I ordered. As I mentioned the confusion and how such discrepancies may cause conflict, waitress replied “ well the food is good and people don’t mind pay”. I interjected by assuring her I don’t mind paying for anything I purchase. But don’t charge me more for an item then what is listed on the menu. And furthermore you know very well there’s a increase in price and all items on the menu haven’t been updated that’s the first thing that should be brought to customers’ attention. Everyone isn’t overlooking a 3$ increase without an explanation. Although I still gave a $15 tip for 45$ bill. Guess who won’t be returning. Was lovely while it lasted. I was informed they’re under new management. I need to find out where previous management is.

Excellent Indian/Nepalese cuisine here. Just happened to stumble upon this spot and was extremely satisfied with the quality of their food, as well as the attentiveness of the server (Sumeer). Would highly recommend the Gobi Manchurian, though everything was spectacular. I had everything spicy, which was the perfect level.

Had the most delicious lunch with the family. We had the bindi, channa masala, aloo Gobi, paneer Tikka. and Gobi Manchurian with Naan. Each dish was sumptuous.

Me and my friend came here for dinner. It was an amazing experience. We started with the Gobi Manchurian. OMG this was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. Pure heaven. 😘🤌🏼 then we got two types of naan. The garlic one was so good! We dipped it in the butter chicken. The butter chicken was a little too sweet for us, but it was still delicious! The lamb was a little tough and the flavor wasn’t my favorite, but that could be just me. The rice was cooked perfectly and the service was great! The waiter was very attentive and friendly! Overall not a bad place to go! Definitely come here for their Gobi Manchurian. 1000000% please. You’ll thank me later I promise 👍 Edit: just went back to try their Chicken Tikki Marsala and it was DELICIOUS 🤤 definitely will be my go to order for this place!

I’ve tried several other Indian restaurants in the city and this continues to be my favorite. Love their chicken tikka masala and the lamb dish I’ve tried here is delicious as well. Delivery is always prompt.

Some of the best Indian/ Nepalese food I've had in a long while. My meal consisted of Garlic Naan, Lamb Vindaloo, and Chicken Momo First the momo..THE MOMO! Well spiced with garlic and cilantro, and perfectly steamed. The sauce was spicy, with fresh ginger and toasted cumin. The garlic naan was on the thin side, slightly crisp, with big bubbles in the bread, and just the right amount of garlic (i.e. I can taste it but I won't kill a vampire tomorrow when I breath) The Vindaloo was spicy but with a light amount of sweetness from what I think was fenugreek. The lamb was very tender. The dish was not at all greasy (something I've seen as a fault in other restaurants version of this dish). Served with plenty of fragrant basmati rice. Will eat there again.

Ordered through Uber Eats. I was not impressed with the Saag Paneer. There was no spice or flavor. Perhaps I should have noted in the app to increase the spice level, as there wasn’t an option to do so when selecting the meal. The garlic naan, mango lassi and gulab jamun were decent. I will give credit for the generous portion sizes and careful packaging, but I doubt I will give them another try.

Almost didn't come here due to the 4 stars. Don't believe it. This is a FIVE STAR JOINT! It's authentic Indian/ Nepalese. What flavors! Get the goat biriani it's so rich in spice... Robin is a pleasure and a kind server. The chef even came out to say hello! Cool interior decorating and overall top spot. Oh and get the Momo's.

Delicious and savory Indian and Nepali food. My favorite was the Lumbini Momo(chicken) and Lamb Biryani. My friends have been raving about this place and I had to give this place a try! Will be coming back for sure. The waitress who served me and my family was very patient, attentive, and caring.

Hands-down one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. We were the only two people eating here closer to the end of lunch time. However, the experience was not lacking! the ambience was amazing! The food was rich in taste. Although the curries were a tad more expensive than I’ve seen in other restaurants, it was worth it! I will be coming here again. I highly recommend the Malai Kofta, Navaratan Korma & Aloo Paratha!

We ordered dinner from Lumbini via DoorDash tonight. The app both updated and texted me that our order had been picked up and delivered even though it wasn’t there. When I called the restaurant to ask about the order status, they said it was still there and hadn’t been picked up. The restaurant manager immediately offered to personally deliver our order - he was outside not even 5 minutes after our call ended! We already liked getting takeout from Lumbini but will definitely continue ordering from there. I didn’t know you could order online straight from their website, so in the future we’ll be ordering from them directly instead of using the apps.

Aha....I waited waited waited.....and the food was worth the wait!! Ordered Chicken biryani - they don’t have bone-in biryani though 😲. Loved their big size naan with chicken curry (must try). You’ll struggle to find parking. So please wait somewhere else before you go to pick your food.

I had a Biriyani today. it's pretty good . I can give 70 marks for this biriyani because I have had real biriyani when I was in State college ,PA. Comparing with that this is average..raitha is perfect
