We tried the Chef’s Tasting Menu and highly recommend it. A great amount of quality food for the price. Everything we were served was incredible with the highlights being the burrata, gnocchi and tiramisu pudding. Nice ambiance inside the restaurant as well. Service was great and seemed like they really care about serving great food and drinks. I recommend street parking. We will be back again

I came here expecting a great meal. Vibe and ambiance was nice, but the second I sat down it was horrible. It was “resy” week where they pushed some free menu on you with some terrible drink and a cold burrito. The service was bad - our waiter checked on us once at the end of the meal. Took forever to place an order and the place wasn’t busy. The wine I wanted wasn’t available either and they brought over a much more expensive option. Not quite the experience I’ve heard countless others have had ! Maybe just an off night.

The food was great, but the portions are rather small. The place was very loud. We weren't even able to have a conversation with each other.

Last night at Macchialina Taverna Rustica was an unforgettable experience, and I have to credit much of that to the phenomenal service we received. Our server, Lauren, was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we were seated, she brought a warmth and friendliness that instantly made us feel at home. Her personable nature and deep knowledge of the menu made her the ideal guide for our dining adventure. My guest has a gluten allergy, and I was incredibly impressed with how thoroughly Lauren and her team addressed our needs. She took the time to explain our options, ensuring that my guest felt comfortable and safe with her choices. It’s this level of attention to detail that truly sets Macchialina apart from other dining experiences in Miami. The atmosphere was lively yet cozy, and the staff was clearly on their A-game. Lauren not only delivered top-notch service but also checked in frequently to ensure everything was perfect, without being obtrusive. I remember joking that our water glasses must have had pressure sensors underneath them, because the moment the last drop of water disappeared, a server would almost magically appear to refill it for us. I got a kick out of that. Now, let’s talk about the food. I ordered the Spaghetti Pomodoro, and I can confidently say it was the best spaghetti I've ever had in Miami! The flavors were vibrant, fresh, and beautifully balanced – a true testament to the culinary talent in the kitchen. I walked away from Macchialina with a full heart and a satisfied palate, already planning my next visit. If you're in Miami and looking for delicious Italian food paired with exceptional service, do yourself a favor and visit Macchialina Taverna Rustica. Pasta was ok in flavor however what made it unpleasant was the fact that it was soooo hot and spicy. We ordered (vongole and pomodoro pasta) and it was just painful to eat. The food had so much red pepper it burned. I had do deal with a midnight reflux in my stomach due to that. The tip is included at 20% with a service that is good but nothing extraordinary. On top of that it is expensive.

Great little restaurant. Only complaint the pasta dish i ordered was a bit small and wasn’t served any bread salad or side. It was 30 dollars alone. The dessert was great.

The experience we were provided with at this restaurant was beyond excellent. I went with my family and we enjoyed pastas, veal, swordfish, and others. An item off the menu that i would like to specifically point out is the puffed bread. My sister and I were in heaven as we enjoyed the warm, fluffy bread. Our server Juwell (JuJu) made this meal much more pleasant because she was kind spirited, attentive, knowledgeable, and most of all, friendly. She knew the menu thoroughly and gave great recommendations. I would most definitely recommend going to this restaurant just in case you will have the pleasure of receiving her service. The overall ambiance and environment of this restaurant were very pleasing and welcoming. In the end, I would give this restaurant a ten out of ten and would definitely return to experience this night again, at this specific location, with these specific people.

The place is beautiful and has a homey garden feeling, after we sat down we were greeted by Pepe who recommended great items on the menu. And the best part was the finale, an ice toped tiramisu that would leave you craving for more!!

The food was delicious, very nice and relaxing atmosphere and good service but the portions were small. While we took 3 starters a pasta and a dessert I was still hungry, beside that very good restaurant.

Really lovely rustic Italian menu. We had the tasting menu for two with one wine pairing. Everything was excellent: simple, bright, flavorful. It comes with a *wild* amount of food and you get to try 8 dishes in what they call four courses. Definitely a good deal for the price. Waiter was very knowledgeable and the service was great - really noticed the small stuff that most wait staff don't seem to be trained in anymore. A pleasure to eat here.

Absolutely amazing experience! Great ambience and superb service made us feel like we were dining in a Roman trattoria. The pasta was the best we've had in Miami – fresh and perfectly cooked. The burrata appetizer was mouthwatering, and the tiramisu was out of this world. The spritz was perfect for a summer afternoon. A wonderful way to end a week of birthday celebrations. 100% recommended!

Everything about this place is simply perfect, beautiful and pleasant. I celebrated my birthday here with my family and it was the best decision. We had an incredible time. I have nothing bad to say, just PERFECT.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I have been going there since it opened. No longer. It was burger night. The service could best be described as no service. We waited over one hour for a mediocre hamburger. They ran out of ketchup so we had French Fries but no ketchup. It took 15 minutes for them to bring a soda. Our server seemed like every request was a complete bother for her. It was a most unpleasant evening.

Sat at the bar, had the chef's tasting and EVERYTHING WAS INCREDIBLE! Our bartendress, whose name I forgot to ask, was an absolute delight. She was so kind and made amazing wine recommendations. Please PLEASE eat here if you're in the area. Your taste buds will thank you.

The food is as good as ever. Staff is good. However, the new restaurant space lost all of the charm and vibe of the original. The high vaulted ceiling w zero noise reduction means that if you’re in a group you can’t hear anyone but the person next to you.

Loved it- sat at bar. Service was fantastic- we enjoyed the green bean/asparagus salad/parapadelle bolognese/bananna bread pudding all very good!

Food is delicious. Service by bartender was great. Each dish hit the spot. Cocktails are addicting. The menu changes so visit often. Highly recommend, especially to experience the newly renovated vibe.

Giving this place 4 stars was tough but 4.5 wasn’t an option and 5 wasn’t warranted… service overall was great but it took far too long to simply cash out so we could leave. The food was good but I ordered an entree with peas that were slightly too al dente and gave a chalky flavour, my partner’s red meat pasta was also slightly too salty. Overall a solid place to eat but ultimately fell short of the hype.

My go to spot and the perfect complement to mass at the beach! The bartenders are so knowledgeable and can whip up so many different delicious cocktails! I like to go right when they open and you have the best service, things are peaceful and quiet and no wait! I usually go for the stracciatella cheese with prosciutto and arugula which is so delicious, marinated eggplant and generally an espresso martini! Check them out!

Macchialina - 8.5/10 We went there on June 16th 2024 for Father's Day What we had : •Broccolini Al cesare - 6/10 (a bit bitter) •Polenta - 10/10 (could eat a bucket of it) •Burrata and tomatoes -7/10 (very fresh) •Fried bread - 8/10( pairs well w. Polenta) •Branzino - 8/10 ( well made) •Lamb and fava beans with jus - 8/10 •Caccio I peppe - 6/10 (call me weird but not that good) •Tagliatelle Al fungi - 10/10 (delicious) •Cavatelli and meatballs - 6/10 ( this would've been an 8 but we only had 2 mini meatballs...) The drinks were good Our waitress was nice, a bit to hip for us but still, nice all and all And so yeah ! Go with your partner for a date (10/10), or a family diner (7/10). Enjoy 😊🙏👍

I do agreed this restaurant is going down because they food is now terrible I always use to come to this restaurant with family also and yesterday I went with my wife and we couldn’t eat the food the taste is not the same I miss the old days about 1 week ago I came and I liked it now idk I see they in construction even hiring new people witch this restaurant is going down tbh nobody wants to eat from new employees that are not experience on cooking pleas be aware and do not go to this restaurant for a nice date with family it is not the same no more I see a lot of new employees thats what mess them all up tbh food is not acceptable 1 week ago the food was amazing they need does old employees back the were doing the right thing for us all not the food is not the same nobody wants to eat it……

Today I could say after 5 days from now the food does not taste the same well idk if is because they have new employees but I had went with my family and nobody liked anything there was not cooked well this place needs to start showing more love to the food when they are cooking it this is not acceptable. Paying over $50 $100 and food taste horrible.

Everyone kept talking about this spot so we had to check it out. Went with a few friends and we ordered practically the entire menu Short rib Lasagna was 🔥 the pastas were all cooked very well but all the food needed more seasoning. More "love" the rustic Italian presentations only work (in my opinion) if the flavors and textures are home runs. The brochollini ceaser was a cool idea but too bitter needed more lemon or cheese The burrata with the prosciutto was great, classic prep nothing special The Sullivan street bread was served cold....... The gnocco fritto was good texture but lacking salt The cavatelli was phenomenal. And the meatballs were proper. Another classic dish The cacio pepe wasn't bad but wasn't excited really lol The veal milinaise was burnt and tasted as such The desserts were all pretty sad .... nothing memorable there..... 6.5/10

The new remodel is fantastic. Impeccable service and great menu. The mushroom polenta and the gnocchi were to die for! Tasting menu is the way to go. Just do it!

Amazing food and VERY friendly staff! We had a large group for a bachelorette party and they were very accommodating with the reservation. Had a fixed menu for the table that was delicious (they accommodated different dietary needs well), my favorite was the polenta with mushroom ragu, the meatballs and the passionfruit gelato. For such a high quality restaurant the price for the large group was VERY reasonable. Will definitely go back to try more on the menu.

EDIT: was invited back to the restaurant and had an amazing experience. If you have a reservation I assume you'll have an awesome time. Don't recommend a walk in. Walked in to make a reservation at 7. Was told I could get a reservation for 9:30 but could get a call if anyone canceled. Waited in my car for over an hour and then received a call stating that because the rain they would be canceling my reservation. No compensation or discount was offered for my wasted time.

Very good Italian, attentive and competent service and a nice atmosphere, especially in the courtyard. This was one of the few restaurants on our Florida trip where I didn't mind the 18% service charge added to the price. In my opinion, the service and the cuisine deserve it for the quality and commitment. We ate there two evenings in a row because we liked it so much.

First off, I have frequented south beach on many occasions and I’ve not really been satisfied with a lot of the restaurants I’ve tried, but this place has inspired hope! I found out about it searching for places to eat and found this place. EVERY thing I ate and drank was great! I’m also from Chicago, so this place lives up to high standards. The drinks were great, my only wish is that I had room for desert! Service great too, as I sat at the bar, the bartenders were attentive but still gave me space and good convo. Overall, I’m happy I have a new place to visit next time!

Amazing from beginning to end. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was awesome. And our waiter Alex was the best. We had the burrata, zucchini and eggplant appetizers - so good!!! The spaghetti was one of the best I’ve had. Negronis and wine were perfect. Thank you to Alex for being so helpful with choosing our meal and for the birthday dessert. Definitely coming back!

Finally, got to check out the newly renovated dining room and I must say, it’s stunning. I’ve frequented macch for a long time and to see this new and improved version is surreal. The quality of food is still unrivaled and the service keeps the pace. It’s everything you’ve grown to love with a new and improved sense of space. There are even some vintage spirits on the back bar that are available on request. There’s been an evolution that surpasses expectations on an already iconic venue. Go. Eat. Drink.

We ate at the bar in the “new dining room” and were absolutely blown away... 10/10. Service was friendly and informative. Nice place, great atmosphere and service. I didn’t like the meatballs, they were overcooked, but the pasta was excellent, super fresh tomato sauce. My friend loves his tiramisu. We took an Uber.

Pepe is the best server. From cocktails to dessert, every dish in the tasting menu and wine pairing was superb and excellently matched. Will return.

I am upgrading an earlier review because of the outstanding customer service I recently received. In April, I took out-of-town guests to Macchialina because the food is delicious , the atmosphere is lovely and the service is solid. We showed up for our reservation. An hour later, when I asked why we weren't seated, I was told that unfortunately they thought we had been seated and mistakenly seated another party in our time slot. (At least the restaurant was honest about its mistake.). They gave us one appetizer and 2 desserts on the house. I left not very happy about the entire ordeal. We were used and the restaurant wasn't especially apologetic. A day or two later, I received a call from Olivia Kiddon, the assistant general manager and a follow up email. Olivia was so genuine and gracious, apologizing and offering us dinner. I was so surprised and delighted that she had called. It made a difference. I give this restaurant so much credit for its follow-up. It diffused a bad situation, leaving me impressed with its excellent customer service. As a local in Miami Beach residing within a 5 minute walk to the restaurant, I will now make Macchialina my go to restaurant. Its a special place and very delicious.

Updated review: we revisited Macchilina last night to see the recently reopened patio and it was a fantastic experience. The food was top notch as always and the service was impeccable, despite having nearly doubled the capacity with the recent renovations. Note the patio is now covered so rain is no longer an issue. We also peaked into the new indoor dining room and want to come back soon to sit in there, especially in the summer when indoors is preferred.

This restaurant put me off Italian food. Which before, I loved. I wouldn’t normally write a negative review, but it’s also about three times more expensive than it should be. Go to the Drexel for a better restaurant experience at this price. On a positive note, the ambiance is good.

Ok , the apps were great , L'insalata Tri colore and the Polenta & sausage were delicious, the Caccio e peppe way too rich , Vongole not enough flavor, The mushroom Pasta , was great.

All pasta dishes tested and looked mediocre . Too much butter , heavy cream . Nop ! The zucchini and eggplant appetizer was fairly good . And also the veal was decent Price , lol 😆

Good but overrated IMO. Had the filone bread, tricolore salad, tortellini special, chicken Parm, and a few other dishes. Bread was fine but had delicious dipping sauce. Tricolore salad had WAY too much cheese. Chicken Parm was average. Wine selection was great with a lot of affordable bottles. This place is best suited for a family/casual dinner.

Delicious Italian food on south beach. We ordered the brocollini, buratta, the mecchialina pasta and the gnocci. All was the food was excellent. We sat at on the patio which was recently opened and has a buz. I loved their jazzy hip hop playlist (Common, Jurassic 5, Dr Octagon, Pharcyde) We were initially a little disappointed after turning up early and still having to wait 30mins after our reservation time before getting a table. They clearly overcommited. Whilst apologetic they could have done more to make it right.

Probably one of the best meals I had during my stay in Miami. Service can improve but I get Italians so not hard feelings. Complements to the chef, every dish was amazing. I enjoyed dinner. Grazie mille!

We visited Macchialina and had the chiefs choice tasting menu. Every single thing we were served was wonderful. The servers were fantastic. So friendly and helpful. The atmosphere on the patio was great. I had food that I would not have ordered if I had not tried the tasting menu. Next time we are in Miami we will do this again.

My boyfriend and I came to Macchialina 5 years ago when we first started dating and he asked me to be his girlfriend. 5 years later, we decided to pay another visit for our anniversary. We went for the tasting menu and we were extremely pleased. The fish was some of the best we have and the tiramisu was the best we’ve ever had. We will be making a tradition of coming here for special dates.

Delicious Italian in Miami Beach. Food tastes very tasty. Not cheap, but that's normal here. Wine list is fun.

The food was on time and delicious. The Beet Mezzaluna was my favorite 😍. We tried differents dishes like: Sullivan Street Filone ( a bread with tomato oil and shallots ) Gnocco Fritto Local Burrata Roasted Pepper Caccio e Peppe Beet Mezzaluna Veal Milanese Potatoes & Scarole All of them were delicious! The Desserts weren’t good enough. One worse than the other. (We ordered the three of the menu) Definitely you should improve the desserts, you ordered it when you are finished your experience at the restaurant so I would be great if you could put one more eye in that! It’s as important as the first impression and the main food. The service was 10/10. Maybe we felt a little kicked out of the restaurant because when we finished eating the last bite of dessert they left the bill on the table. But our server knew everything about the menu, she explained us everything and knew a lot about wines too. The busser was always taking care about us ! He was so kind. Absolutely I will come back!

**Update April 2024, still an amazing experience,** Wife and I got lucky and walked in without a reservation and was sat immediately at the bar. Service was top notch as was the food. I would recommend planning ahead and making reservations. We enjoyed a cacoi e pepe and the halibut. My wife enjoyed the wine selection while I had a negroni. If you are info amaros highly suggest a flight.

Macchialina offers a delightful culinary experience with attentive service. Their mortadella and tuna crudo starters tantalize the taste buds, complemented by well-crafted cocktails. While the tagliolini al tartufo nero falls short of expectations, the lively ambiance, though characterized by worn-out furniture and R&B music, adds to the charm of the dining experience.

Get the seafood Cacciucco if you like seafood! Branzino is super fresh with its natural sweetness.

If you have never been here before, what I strongly recommend is the tasting menu (with the wine pairings, if you partake). It was amazing. I tend to order food conservatively and feel I would have totally missed out on the amazing options without trying different dishes. What a fabulous, memorable meal with excellent service. Cannot wait to come back.

Went with two girlfriends, one had been there before and highly recommend the "chefs plate". We all ordered it and shared each portion. It was amazing food, I think $70 pp is a bit hefty but whatever. All of the pastas served had cream based sauce and would have been nice to try others as I personally am not into Alfredo or cream sauces but it definitely was good and ate more variety then I'm used to. I ordered delivery from Macchialina, and it might be the most transcendent delivery food of my life! I've been fortunate to travel to Miami Beach about once a year in the last five years, and Macchialina was always on my list but I never made it here! I finally broke down and ordered the vegetarian polenta and the famed cavatelli with porchetta and baby meatballs to finally try this restaurant's food, and I'm happy to say that my mind was very much blown in the absolute best way. It's important to note that the delivery options via Uber Eats are not as numerous as the takeout ones on Toasttab, and that's definitely for the best. You're still getting some of the very best that the restaurant has to offer!

Service is outstanding. Our waitress Eloise was exceptional - knowledgeable and friendly. Tasting menu is a great way to experience the best dishes. Branzino and mushroom tagliatelle were my favourite. Shaved ice espresso tiramisu was creative and a fantastic end to a stellar meal.

We had a great meal here -- did the tasting menu. We especially loved the amuse bouche pork sandwich and the various pasta dishes. The service was great, especially Marlo!

A great restaurant for date night or family dinner. Seating is intimate and they have outdoor dining as well. Fine service throughout dinner. I appreciated the restaurant offered smaller portions of entrees which allowed us to try a few different dishes. The food was fresh. We weren’t fans of the texture of the bread pudding. It wasn’t a traditional bread pudding recipe.

My husband and I had dinner here on Easter. The restaurant itself was rustic and cozy, but trendy. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was not fussy, but it was some of the best Italian I've had. The prosciutto was fabulous! The pasta was clearly homemade and the sauce and meatballs were delicious. The chicken was so moist and tasty. Let's not forget the drinks! The signature cocktails were so good and the wine list impressive. I wish I could have tried everything on the menu! Definitely will be back when we visit again.

I do not understand how this place gets any good reviews. It was the most unpleasant experience and a complete waste of our time and money. I suppose the restaurant used to be better and smaller. The patio area which is disconnected from the restaurant is very large and has camping plastic tables. And a plastic roof which echos. They do not bother to at least cover them up with table clothes. It is so noisy that it is impossible to have any type of conversation. What was supposed to be a nice family meal was a disaster. The best part was the appetizers. The pasta was a joke. Overcooked, not much flavor and very pricey. The wine was spilled over the plastic table while served, was expensive and a very poor pour. Not much selection either. Our friend was served a different SUPER expensive wine which was not on the menu as a favor. It was rust brown. We asked the waiter if he had tasted it. It takes the glass and goes away. Came back to tell us it was not going to be on the bill. No apology or question if he wanted something else. The desert must have been frozen, thawed and frozen again. Then we were rushed out. Happy to leave. My ears were ringing.There was a lot of stressed staff and 2 ladies who also looked very stressed.

One of the best restaurant experiences and some of the best food I’ve had in Miami anywhere. Servers were super knowledgeable and the food seemed well thought out and intentional. Pasta and appetizers were excellent, but dessert was not as exciting. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great dining experience at Macchialina! We went with the tasting menu which we loved but there are so many amazing dishes it’s hard to get everything but the tasting menu is $70 and you get an excellent selection of their star dishes. They have a good wine and cocktail list and specialize in martinis. So the tasting menu I think changes but we got: Creamy polenta (ahh-mazing and the mushrooms are so delicious). Street Filone (I think. Super surprising and delicious, loved the chili oil). Broccolini. Perfectly prepared. We did not get the buratta or the insalata tricolore but I think it’s just a testament to them having so many good dishes. These dishes looked incredible. For the pasta course we got to have the cavatelli- the meatballs were so tender and the sauce was great. The cacao e Pepe was very good and the gnocchi was particularly good. We did not get the lasagna but it looked really amazing as did the pasta with clams. But overall excellent to get a taste of 6 dishes across 2 courses. We then got the veal Milanese. The arugula and sundried tomato’s on top were good. The tiramisu was good. Overall service was top notch and the outdoor dining area was peaceful despite the restaurant being on a Main Street although the inside of the restaurant was really a great vibe. Make sure to ask for bread- it is incredible!

The food was excellent and delicious. For an Italian restaurant the prosecco/sparkling wine options were very limited. The dining experience was rushed. I was asked to pay as I just received the dessert, which left me puzzled as there were still plenty of available seats. The majority of the waiting staff were quite unenthused, I did not feel very welcome.

Amazing vibe and authentic Italian food. The manager and server were very understanding with my allergies and worked with the chef to ensure my dinner was allergy free! The ambiance allows for a vibey experience...great for a date night. Reminded me of my trip to Italy. Seems like a go-to spot for Miami locals. Make a reservation pr you might have to wait! Excellent! The food and wine tasting were delicious. Food came out a tad fast but did not diminish the experience.

I was in the restaurant and tried most of the dishes they offer and I must say it is truly an Italian experience. The food has excellent flavor and it shows that they have quality products. Fabulous lasagna! So good! Also the eggplant parm was a delight. Service was good and attentive. Nice ambiance. We had our meal in the garden room in back and it was nice for couples. The restaurant inside was lively and hip. Either way the food was awesome!

Service was very very slow. The patio area was very cold. We were not aware or told we would be seated outside. (60 degrees) The half bottle option is a false advertisement as they don’t actually have half bottles. They just pour you what they feel is half the bottle from the full bottle. So you don’t actually know what you are getting.( for $65 we dont feel we got half a bottle as it barely filled one 6 oz glass for each of us) Food was pretty good. We would not return.

This place is AMAZING! The food is phenomenal - everything is so fresh, so delicious, and perfect portions (although we took some of our pasta to-go because we were so stuffed!). I had the macchialina pasta and the fish - both absolutely amazing!! Everything made from scratch and from fresh ingredients. I love that they do 1/2 bottles of wine, too, which allows everyone at the table to try something they like. The service was fantastic as well! I can't wait to come back to this place!

A fantastic hidden gem hole in the wall kind of place. Good wine fresh bread and the cacio e pepe was delisious. Good price for the amazing tastes

Excellent. My favorites: the short rib lasagna, polenta, burrata, tiramisu, and bread pudding. Service was great, we weren't waiting too long in between courses.

Date night dinner!! We got a chance to experience their new outdoor dinning area (pictured). It was really lovely with the current temperature (low 60s). We did check out the inside and it was really cozy!! Definitely will try to score a reservation inside next time. Food: burrata 10/10, polenta (comforting) 9/10, lasagna 9/10, halibut,,. 8/10? It is not as tasty as the rest, but still good!! The problem is when you eat pieces without the sauce, then it feels like it’s missing something. But if you have it with the sauce, it will be tasty. Will be coming back!
