The waiter Derek is amazing! He went above and beyond to deliver us with excellent customer service. We desperately need more people like him. He took his time to inform us about every item we asked him about and showed a great display of patience. The food was amazing and was exactly what I pictured when reading each ingredient on the menu. I will definitely be back and recommend it to ALL! If you happen to read this and visit on my account, ask for Derek and you WONT be disappointed!!

Derek was amazing! He had great customer service and made great recommendations for us! The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and the sweet potato cornbread was to die for! It was the best cornbread I’ve ever had. Derek even recommended drinks cocktails to what we like. The atmosphere was stunning and the vibe was it! Gooooo!

I don't usually write long reviews, but this place has so much potential that I wanted to share my thoughts. As a full-time chef, I was impressed with the plating of each course. However, the flavors were confusing. The mussels, for example, were a bit small for the price and overly salty, as if trying to mimic a casual seafood bowl but missing the mark. The seafood curry was similar, with an overly thick and overpowering sauce that masked the flavors. I suggest changing the curry to a gumbo, which might blend the seasonings better. On a positive note, the dessert was fantastic. With a few adjustments, I believe this place could easily earn a five-star rating.

I walked in and was immediately immersed in what I would call a "sexy" atmosphere. The decor is just as yummy as the food. I had the jerk lamb chops and they were cooked & seasoned to perfection. Our server, Derrick, was absolutely amazing! He was attentive, charming and accommodating. I highly recommend for a date night with your boo or night out with your friends.

Let me tell y'all... I love to support my people. Love love love. But I wouldn't come back to this restaurant if you paid me. We ordered the shotta shrimp as an appetizer, which was good and that's the only thing that was tasty. I ordered the brown stewed chicken and had a drink(Moscato), my friend ordered the snapper. Both meals were not good. The brown stewed chicken was sweet, the collad greens did not have any taste and the rice was mushy and hard at the same time and contained no pigeon peas in either dish. The meals took a long time to come out, and which wasn't a big deal Because we were talking but the timing was odd. The appetizer came out really late and then shortly after my friends snapper. My meal came after hers. I sent my plate back. My meal came to $48.00, you heard me, $48.00 for a drink and the shotta shrimp. They added a fee of $12.50 to both orders! Why???? THEY ADD A MANDATORY 20% gratuity, which I did not know. I don't know what my friends order came to, but I can only imagine a ridiculous price.

I visited this cute speakeasy for the first time last night. I love the vibe, the decor is fantastic. It was a bit loud but that is to expected with the small size of the place. I ordered the lamb chops and it was absolutely delicious. I could seriously rave all day about it. I also ordered a dirty martini, which was perfectly made. But the service was terrible. It took over 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. My friend ordered wine and the waitress didn’t even know that it was a white wine and not a red wine. She then brought the wrong wine, which my friend just accepted because she didn’t want to seem mean. Then later when we finished dinner, we both planned to order their affrogatini but the waitress took my friend’s order and immediately walked away. She didn’t even ask if I wanted anything. It was just a weird experience.

Kayla was the bomb dot com. Her hospitality was top notch I will definitely return and specifically ask for her and also recommend friends. The food was sensational!!!!!! Highly recommend

Got seated within 5 mins of coming in a busy Sunday and my friend was being picky like usual so we had to leave but the food looks good esp the oxtail and shrimp and grits. I’m honestly sad I didn’t get to try the food.

I had the smoked Turkey hash with scrambled eggs and my friend had the fried red snapper with grits which was delicious by the way. Ambiance and vibes were on 10. We came for Saturday brunch and there was a saxophonist performing. The decor is great and the service was good. The kitchen was backed up so we did have to wait a while for our food but the staff was accommodating all things considered. Jessica was our waitress and she was great. I ordered the oxtails and grits and I would give it three stars- it was okay. Maybe as a Jamaican my standards are high for oxtail lol. But overall I’d recommend.

If there is ever a speakeasy to visit in the Tampa area, THIS. IS. IT! Everything about this place is worth raving about: The food, the atmosphere, the history behind Madame Fortune, and the service was impeccable. The speakeasy is located in downtown Ybor hidden behind a local deli and is a tribute to the namesakes influence in Tampa's My daughter took me for my birthday and I fell in love with this place instantly. We went on a weekday around 7pm and it was quiet but by 8:00 it was lively with a nice crowd and a live singer singing R&B tunes. Our server Derek was amazing. He was super friendly, professional, patient and very welcoming. The turkey wings and sweet potatoe cornbread which were delicious. And the drinks were fire! A lot of other people were also celebrating their birthdays there and I can see why..This is definitely THE spot to try.

First at this establishment and might I say it was a vibe ! Derek was such a pleasure to have as a waiter and very nice on the eyes lol. The food was ok I had the shrimp and lobster grits. I just wish it was a couple more shrimp but besides that the music , vibe , and ambiance was 10/10.

Went for the tea experience. 2nd and 3rd drinks were awful!!! No substitutes were offered at all. Just take the lose. They did not have all options available for the Sandwiches. Pastries on sandwich tower looked store brought. Wild. Host looked overworked and unprepared. My 3rd visit. Very disappointed. The tea experience is way too expensive to fall so short. Not worth it at all.

Great experience. The food was delightful. We went for drinks and appetizers, and the music just set the atmosphere. I love how it was hidden, push open the door, and go into another atmosphere. Sangria Tower was amazing. Staff were so welcoming and helpful.

The place is sooooo cute and the food is so good. Despite being super short staffed, the service was incredible. So full of love. The music was excellent. The vegan friendly options were special! The cornbread is a must have. Just rip out the carpet and turn the lights up a tiny bit. It smells so awful in there (like many of Ybor’s old buildings) and I know the carpet is probably the culprit.

The atmosphere at Madame Fortune's is top tier. Alexis was our server as well as our bartender and She is amazing. For what we ordered, the food was good, what I did not like , however, was the fact that the "service charge" (gratuity) was automatically added to the check, this cheated my server out of the tip I was going to give her, and I refuse to add money to a gratuity that she already placed upon herself. If she feels she was worth $20 so be it, but if she would've allowed myself to tip her she would've gotten more. I'm not about to double tip someone. FYI my experience here was NOT worth $150 for 2 people. It was TOO LOUD, I felt I had to almost yell to talk to my husband. They had a live DJ playing great music, which was amazing. At least I can say that I tried something new and went somewhere new. I DON'T THINK I WOULD BE COMING BACK HOWEVER.

This restaurant is amazing! Our server was Cheyenne and she was wonderful from beginning to end. The drinks were strong. I had the Harlem of the South…..twice. The food was delicious. I was able to get the turkey wings and they are typical sold out. I also had the truffle plantain chips. Everything was fresh, seasoned and cooked well, and not salty. Our server was super attentive and knew the menu very well. She gave great recommendations. If you come for dinner, ask to sit in Cheyenne’s section! 🤗

I went to Madame Fortune for a bday dinner, ….lets get into it : 1. We requested Sangria, they were out of rum and used burbon 2. I Requested Med well lamb chops, they were very rare🥴 3. My order and my friend order came out however my other two friends only received part of their meal (just a plate of broccoli and a bowl of brussel sprouts) 4. About 30 mins later they received the food 5. The food was cold, my friend ordered a dish that included mussels (NO MUSSELS WERE INCLUDED) however the waitress asked did she want to bring some, well if you can bring them THEN WHY WERE THEY NOT IN THE MEAL?!?!? 6. My other friend dish came with a crab cake, they threw a lobster tail on top without even asking does she want it or give her an option to pick something else 7. The lobster was sooo tuff🫣😩 8. We did speak to a female manager that was very pleasant and she did try to redeem it by offering an adjustment to the bill and shots🤷🏾‍♀️ Overall we were really disappointed with the food, the waitress is really what gave it the three stars because she was so sweet and really tried hard & the starters were good…. The atmosphere is nice I will give that as well! But For the amount that the food cost these meals should come out hot and if you dont have it please allow the customer to pick a different entree instead of assuming they want lobster

So my best friend decided to take me to madame fortune for a ladies brunch day. Walking into the place it was a great atmosphere with good music. The waitress took our drink orders and our food orders. Which I wanted the oxtail starter but they didn't have all the items listed for the meal so I ended up ordering the avocado toast and my BF ordered the lobster shrimp n grits. Now this is where the reveiw starts . The avocado toast was not toasted the guacamole was watery and seemed store bought and not fresh. Being we are from Florida we know what freah avocados taste like. My friends food the grits was gritty and the lobster was hard to cut lol. And the fried okra and tomato was bland with no seasoning along with the side of mayonnaise. But I honestly can say the cornbread was delicious if I would of known I would of just ordered the cornbread which I gotta say again was amazing. Thanks.
