It's certainly not much to look at but the food is really good. It's small inside so I recommend making a reservation. They do have a small amount of outdoor seating.

What a cool little spot! Don't be fooled when you pull into the driveway... lol. Go inside and find a quaint little restaurant and bar and be greeted by a very friendly owner! The food was excellent as well as the service! I got the club sandwhich and my wife got a grilled cheese with bacon. When passing through be sure to stop for some great grub. We stopped while on our way to Atlantic City from western Pa. We plan on stopping on our way home to try the meatball sub that looked so great.

Wow, hadn't been here in years, but I am glad I went back again. Place definitely does not look like much on the outside, I'll grant that, but it's warm and cozy on the inside. GREAT tap selection, as it always has been -- this is one of central PA's OG beer bars -- and the food is excellent red gravy Italian, look at that chicken parmesan with angel hair! I WILL BE BACK, thank you!

We got there early, so the Chef was our greeter, waiter, cook and entertainer. A waitress later replaced him, and he went on with his mission of creating magnificent dishes. Three of us each had ravioli, but each was stuffed with something different and with different sauces. All were beyond our expectations. The Chef-made salad dressings were exemplary. The homemade desserts and bread left us speechless. We almost didn't find this gem. Don't let the outside fool you! I envy the locals who can eat there often!

Love this restaurant. If i had a choice this is my go to. Fantastic food....fantastic service and prices. Check out the crab soup and the to die for Godiva chocolate cheesecake.

I tell you what. You would not know this place would exist. It reminds me of a dive bar, but the food is wonderful and the service is top notch. They have a good selection of beers also.

My salad was good, but it was the worst spaghetti & meatballs I have ever had. The service was wonderful. The building is run down.

Best Chicken Sandwich I ever had.

The food is amazing! Husband loved the surf and turf he had for valentines dinner. I have had the fettuccine with shrimp and tenderloin and loved it both ways.

We were in Millerstown for a choral festival, and I've been wanting to try this place out. We drove right by at first because we missed the sign. When we got there, I hesitated because of the outside appearance and wasn't sure if they were kid friendly. So glad we decided to go in! The food was delicious and everyone was so friendly. The dining room is small. We arrived at an off time, so we were ok, but I highly recommend reservations if you are arriving at peak dining times. We ordered lunch items but are planning to return sometime for dinner. All the dinner plates we saw looked so good! Also... don't skip dessert!!

The server, Vanessa, was perfect. She was patient with one particularly particular member of our party. She was engaging without being overly so. The food, all of it, was good; some of it very good to excellent. My filet was cooked perfectly as I requested, my scallops were tender and nicely seasoned. My broccoli was bright green and delicious. Salad leaves were large and fresh—not chopped in brown-edged. My wife’s crab cakes were good, but there were no lumps of crab in it; it was without texture, but it tasted good. Food was fairly priced ( inasmuch as prices go in the world today. Venue a bit difficult to find and access, but, hey, that’s part of the fun in finding a treasure like this.

Makes the best Old Fashioned I have tasted. Food is fantastic! The company is always a pleasure. Many laughs and good times at this place.

A little gem in the middle of Perry County. Excellent tap selection and variety of food. The seafood bisque was outstanding and so were the other dishes we got. Our only "complaint" is some of the entrées can be a bit pricey. That being said, with a higher price comes a higher quality of food. Will definitely be returning!

Holy moly! If you love amazing food and service, in a random out of town location with a rustic and charismatic atmosphere- you have to go! Different friends told us about this spot, and we came on the way back from a trip to Europe, out of Philly. Huge portions, homemade by order sauces and fresh everything:) The chicken and shrimp Alfredo fantastic. Craft beers, a decent wine list and lovely family. Enjoy! Make a reservation as there are only a few tables or you can sit at the bar.

Great food at a reasonable price. They had a nice selection of beers too. The server who I suppose was the owner was very friendly and made it fun for my kids. He split a plate for them and gave more than half to each which was overly kind. My kids enjoyed looking at all the decorative signs. Great club and chicken sandwiches!

I found this place by accident. I'm an Aussie staying in an airbnb in nearby Thompson Town so I used googlemaps with "Dinner nearby" and several locations came up. I read through the reviews because I'm staying in a pretty remote place and I didn't want to end up somewhere average. The reviews on this place were pretty positive and I smiled at the part I read about 'keeping your beer on the coaster at the bar'. All the things people said in the reviews were true. It's not overly easy to find, it's very unassuming, it's kinda tight for room...but also the bartender lady (part owner) was WONDERFULLY friendly. I had a dinner salad and the spaghetti alfredo shrimp with the homemade garlic bread and croutons and it was fantastic! A beer, a coke, a fantastic meal and fantastic service and conversation was well worth the $28. I wholeheartedly endorse the place. It was a happy surprise for me and a place I visited purely based on the reviews I saw on here about it. Can't say enough about the experience. Oh, and it's true, keep your beer on the coaster!

As others stated in previous reviews, don't let the outside fool you. Inside is quaint, cozy and welcoming. The wait staff were very busy, but always checked on our party when they had the chance. Food totally awesome. Enough said. Parking could be challenging if there's too many other's taking more than their share of the parking spots. We'll definitely go back in the future.

My partner & I visit Newport from Brooklyn whenever we can to get some fresh air - & we always make a point to have dinner here. The waitress is crème de la crème - always so sweet, welcoming, helpful & kind. The food is excelled (with big delicious portions) but we mostly come to bask in the glory of the waitress herself. Big love from NYC.

Dont be fooled by the looks of the place. Some of the best food around and the service is as good as it gets. Steaks, seafood, pasta. Carrot Cake is the best

This place is a hidden gem. So glad we stopped here and gave it a try. We had the seafood bisque and the tomato basil soups. Both were excellent! We also tried the meatball sub and the chicken quesadilla. Meatballs and the sauce are house recipes. Don't let the exterior aesthetics scare you away. Go in and eat. You'll thank me later.

The food was amazing! We loved the roasted tomato bisque, as well as the seafood bisque. They make their own meatballs and sauce. I should have gotten a dessert to go. We'll definitely stop again when passing through the area.

The place was out of the way, which in my case was nice - getting away. Server was great. Food for the price, well, not top notch. Famous bisque? My point is, it's nice to get away from the populated areas - just don't have high expectations here. The server was great though in her job.

Stopped driving out to see family, my 13 year old said it was the best burger he's ever had, my 18 year old loved his meatball sub, and both my wife and I had sandwiches which were amazing as well. And they were super nice even with our 2 year old having a moment. Highly recommend!

Holy cow, what a hidden gem. OK, well maybe it isn't too hidden, since it got packed while we were there. But it was our first time and I can't say enough about how authentic the dishes were and how good the seafood choices were. I was also very impressed with the large selection of craft brews.

Had the filet and scallops..Incredible..date had the chicken and angel hair also delicious..Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.. Bartender Makes a great French Martini!!

Not too far to drive a delightful meal. Great food....garlic bread for all. Fresh salads with a variety of unique dressings. The fruity blue cheese was wonderful 😋. My friends had seafood and raved how wonderful it was. One of us had chicken Alfredo and thought it was delicious 😋 I had the smoked pork chops with blueberry reduction finish....they (two of them) were amazing. Perfectly cooked and so tasty. Huge serving of a seasoned butter broccoli for a side. Others had large baked potatoes. We were too full for dessert but the options looked wonderful. Early drinks were too strong for our tastes but they were happily replaced. Pleasant evening and even saw some friends. This restaurant is a little out of the way and may not appear special on the outside but if you are looking for great food and a wide variety.....do check this out.

Because of the high reviews online, I decided to try this place but I was not impressed. Over half of their menu is frozen and very over priced. The parking is confusing and the atmosphere is uninviting. It was 59 degrees in the restaurant and the decor is all black and red. The server we had was sweet though, however, it is not worth the amount they charge. Even a beer is $7…

My parents would take us here, that over 15 years ago and it's still open. Good food

Although it's hidden away from the beaten path, your time and effort to find it are well-rewarded! Don't expect a bargain.. it is good food, and worth the money!!

The street view of this place is a bit questionable... but don't let that sway you! Inside, it's clean and neat, the service was great and the food was excellent!

As the saying goes, “You can’t judge a book by its cover”. You can’t tell from the outside but this little place is quite the hidden gem.. I’ve eaten lunch here two times within a week. I was pleased with both visits. The turkey club was ginormous and delicious. The cheese steak was packed with sirloin steak and was amazing. Can’t wait to try dinner here soon.

This place is a little deceiving from the outside, BUT let me say that everything about our experience was FABULOUS! Vanessa was our waitress. She was just as fabulous as the food! HIGHLY recommend!

Very pleasantly surprised. This place isn't much to look at from the outside. But the inside looks quite nice. And most importantly, the food was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be back to try more.

Food was great, waitress was exceptional! The reason I didn't get it five stars was because they need to do some VERY serious renovations! I'm very surprised the Department of Health allows a food establishment to look like that on the outside. Broken air conditioner on the porch, mold, broken blinds. Looks like a junk yard and there is no need for that!

My son and I had the NY Strip steak. Excellent food. I have been here perhaps four times over the years. It's great place off the beaten path in Perry County. Not much to look at but don't let that fool you as it relates to the food and service. The prices are on the high side but the quality is just as good too. My only complaint was that the website menu prices are not what they state. For example we decided to stop here on the way back to Harrisburg instead of The Glass Lounge (another bar and great steak place) because the online listed prices were cheaper for Mastracchio's. So, don't go by the prices online. I felt a little misled if I'm being honest. They use "Market Value" pricing on the menu but should state that online. Had we known in advance we would have most likely not taken the Newport exit, stayed on 322 and drove to the Glass Lounge for steaks instead. Don't get me wrong though, the food and service is always very good here. Just expect to pay a high price. Our two steaks, salad, and potato with three glasses of wine ($5 each) was about $85 bucks for the two of us. We both ordered medium rare steaks as we always do but they were more on the rare/raw side. We said nothing because it was fine for us but if you are selective I would certainly ask about steak preparation as some places do vary based upon the chef. And oh, they do have a very decent craft beer and wine selection to choose from. Pre-pandemic he (owner) had a hard time getting deliveries but I think it is okay now as of this review (June 2022). I also highly recommend their pasta dishes as we have had those in the past as well.

The staff was very friendly, quick service, the food was amazing! The cheese burger(added bacon!) Was juicy and the flavor was on point! My husband got the cheese steak with jalapeño cheese sauce, the steak was amazing! It wasn't like the store bought at all! Not to mention the desserts sound amazing, but where stuffed! We will definitely be back!

Good food and drinks. Great specials. Very disappointed with the reservation process. Told we couldn't have a 5:30 reservation and yet when we left after 6, all tables were open but 2. Disappointing because we left a festival early to make dinner and it wouldn't have been necessary.

One of the best places we have eaten in a very long time and we just traveled from Nevada all across to Pennsylvania!

We ventured out to try something new, a friend had praised the food and qty. The location is not obvious if you dont know where it is you will miss it. Use your GPS and look for grocery shop, it's in basement. The food and service is very good, you get a lot of choices and you will likely have food to take home. They have Mead ! Our host was pleasant and helpful, and took pride in service. We didn't want for anything. Couple of things that kept from a 5 star.. restrooms could use an overhaul and the lighting could be brighter, the dining experience is on finer end, food is very good but environment is hole in the wall bar. For some this wont matter but for some it will turn them away no matter how good the food and service are. I personally plan to go back as food and service was to good to not repeat but place is not for everyone.

Quaint interior, spectacular food. Large portions, reasonable prices. Chicken Alfredo panini sandwich was out of this world. Cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu and the entire dessert menu. Small bartop with many varieties of beer and cocktails. Server was friendly and attentive. Great experience all around! Definitely recommend and we will be back soon.

This is the first time ever being here. The place is small and doesn't look like a very good place to eat but the food and service was tremendous. The staff was very knowledgeable about the different dishes they serve. The prices are about average for the food that you get. Made reservations and glad we did. I will be going back.

Stopped on the way back to Central PA from DC. Food was yummy. Excellent waitress. Friendly, fast, efficient.

Loved it. Food was excellent. No bloatedness from the food which means minimal processed ingredients. Server knew her products very well. It's a gold nugget on the inside.

The place doesn't look like much but excellent food and a good craft beer selection. Maybe a dozen taps in addition to a good bottle/can assortment. I pretty much always get the seafood bisque as it's the best I've come across. My only complaint is they are closed Sunday.

Great family owned restaurant! Very kind attentive service, delicious home made food with a Italian emphasis. Feels like going home when you walk through the doors.

I try to come here at least twice a month. The food is always superb (steaks, sandwiches, cakes, you name it). The service is also always phenomenal. Vanessa is hands down the hostess with the mostest!

We tried the famous seafood bisque twice and found it to be consistently yummy. Loved the cheeseburger and the garlic bread with cheese too! Friendly staff and a nice cozy place. Absolute must try for road trippers who are looking for quick eats that are worth its price. (P.S. They have “covid-safe” measures for dine in)

First time eating there fir lunch. Had their seafood chowder. It was 5 stars! My friend and I split a huge fresh salad with chicken and incredible fries on top.

Food was pretty good but a bit pricey. Service also was pretty good but could have been better since they weren't at all busy. Parking here is what needs addressed. The lower lot where you go in is awful as is the road to it. We were on Motorcycles and didn't feel comfortable navigating the steep gravel and pothole filled hill. Overall It was just an ok experience...not sure if i will go back or not.

A hidden gem. You would never guess how good the food and service is by looking at the outside of the establishment. Our waitress was awesome. The food so good. The vet selection, perfect. Hint. Make reservations and order dessert on advance. We will be back.
