My sister and i took our dad there for lunch. It was for his 95th birthday. The darling waitress brought him a brownie ice cream dessert! The oysters were delicious. Raw, and grilled!!! His fish and chips were delicious! You made a great time for the birthday boy!!!

Food was outstanding! Fresh! Delicious! Beautiful presentation! Sadly, our waitress, Sonia, was subpar...she did not check back with us once our order was taken. We had to request water refills, napkins and additional silverware from other servers. Sonia overall seemed "put out" by us, not a warm and friendly person. The valet parking and entrance/exit area was very chaotic! People were blocking the sidewalk entrance as they waited for their cars. Lots of confusion re: who was coming, going or waiting. This needs to be much more organized! Definitely, no complaints about the food, just the service and parking. It was over an 1-1/2 drive for us from Manchester, CT and this was our first dining experience at The Matunuck Oyster Bar. Not sure we will make the trip again...

Food was delicious. We were on the rooftop, so it was quiet, and the view was beautiful.

This place largely lived up to its impressive reputation. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The place is loud, buzzing and crowded so this isn't a quaint, quiet date night. But it's top notch all around so you can't go wrong.

This might be a 4 star for the area. I’m not from here. But the food was only ok and the service was slow. Here are some of the plates and ratings for what we had: Oysters were very good Blackened Tuna Rare. Good. Have had better Steak. Good Pasta with clams. Ok Steamers. Lacked flavor RI chowder Ok Also thought they could have brought bread out earlier which would have helped kids with something while waiting for the dinner. Servers were very nice. Staff overall was great.

Unusual thing to notice, but the lighting at the restaurant was fantastic..set a great ambiance. The oysters we ordered were really good. And given the size of the restaurant, I was pretty impressed with the level of service. The staff seems to be experienced and work well as a team.

One of many lunches here. A place that farms its own oysters, which you can see from the dining area, has a great view on the water and serves spectacular food. It's why I go back. Can't get a fresher oyster.

This was our first stop on our trip to New England and we were thinking oh no... What if every place is this bad. Don't get me wrong The atmosphere and view and service was great but we ordered five different dishes and none of them were even good. My boyfriend is a oyster lover and the oysters were tiny and not anything special at all. Sorry to say but I would pass on this.

I have no words other than, get your reservation, eat awesome food, especially the seafood -duh!. Highly recommend “The Tower” on the menu!! Awesome drinks, atmosphere, on the water. Nice walk from the beach. The staff are engaging, and will make every effort to ensure you are taken care of. Say hi to Jordan - what a nice guy and super accommodating ❤️!! And, Connor - who made us laugh the whole time at the huge bar area where you can also eat and just relax. No reservation needed at the bar area. They have several dining areas- all provide access to water views. Their menu is fantastic! Always busy on weekend so if you are looking for less folks around, definitely go earlier in the day. Either way, it’s all good. ✨😀✨

I love stopping at this restaurant while driving along the RI coast. Even for lunch, you must have a reservation to dine here and expect that you’ll be sitting down to eat for 1.5 because of how long service takes with how packed it is. Highly recommend the local seafood options. My absolute go-to is their Stuffed Lobster (1 1/2 lb lobster caught from Point Judith)

I went on a busy day and expected to wait a long while for food, however the efficiency of the staff was exceptional!!!! The service was great and the food is exceptional 10/10 would recommend.

Made a reservation a week ahead. Arrived and were told we could sit on the roof without shade or on a tour boat. Lousy options for a party who made reservations well in advance. Sat. The back of the boat where our table was faced West. As the sun made its way West, we were sitting in straight sun. It took 20 minutes to get warm tap water. Another 20 minutes to get our drinks. And a total of 45 before we ate anything. Another drink, another 20 minutes. Dinner arrived in the middle of our appetizers. We asked for wine, only which one was served. The other was brought out after a reminder and taken off the bill. Dessert was good. Espresso came well before the dessert, resulting in it getting cold first. The tomato and buratta salad, fresh and fried oysters, clams casino, tuna, scallop, and steak dinners were amazing. Dessert was rich and also amazing. I am rating this 3 stars because the food was truly spectacular, however the service from reception to dining was poor, especially at a place where the bill for three was $410. The front of the house manager even had to take a large stack of dirty plates as well. For that kind of money, I expect a seamless well-coordinated experience

This is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in Rhode Island. My boyfriend and I have eaten here several times for special occasions as well as for restaurant week and it never disappoints. I'd recommend their oysters as they're extremely fresh. The scallops and stuffed lobster entrees are my favorite.

The location was spectacular. Food was sooooooooooooo fresh and delicious. Oysters are to die for Drinks were flavorful. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary with our compadres. It's was beautiful. The place is always busy. Staff is warm, inviting, friendly, and amazing. It's definitely a repeat for me.

Called on Monday 8/12 to see if they were open ( VJ Day in RI). They said yes we're open. We drive 90 mins to the restaurant. Get there at 2:30. Valet park the car and walk in. Hostess tell us they're not taking walk ins only reservations. Why the hell didn't they tell us that when we called? We were offered to stand in the bar and try for bar seats. With my 2 kids one underage that's not working. So we then stood in line 10 mins to get our car back from the valet. A whole day wasted. I will probably never go here again. We love the restaurant but this was a slap in face and just awful customer service. They wanted people standing and waiting to keep the bar full and obviously didn't care to waste our day.

Great food, great service! I ordered the tuna (I requested rare, but they suggest medium rare) and my husband ordered the jambalaya. They were amazing. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. We went for our first anniversary and it was well worth the trip!

Great food and fresh! The vibes were so good everyone was talking and enjoying themselves. Will say if you get the pasta, it’s a huge portion for 2-3 people so be careful lol. The poke bowl was very fresh as well. Will be back!

Food is just so, so. We are such a wonderful foodie state, but this place only specializes in sea food. If you're not a sea food lover, avoid this one!

This place was Awesome, if seafood is your thing then GO. Plan and simple. The Ride was calm and relaxing, it smelled GREAT walking up to the door. Even the Valet parking was a great experience. I'm going back every chance I get.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. Beautiful vistas especially at sunset. The raw bar has an unbelievable selection and the whole belly clams are a home run.

This place SO deserves its 5 star reputation!!! On a cloudy Friday late afternoon we were surprised to find a line for valet parking (no charge) and a line to get in. Both lines moved quickly and efficiently. When we went to add our name to the wait list the wonderful hostess asked if we cared where we sat. With an answer of ‘no’ we were seated immediately on the 2nd floor next to a window. I’m not sure there are any bad seats! Beautiful atmosphere, thoughtful and quick service and fabulous food!!! We had arugula salad with tuna added and the mussels with sauce and bread!! DELICIOUS!!! ❤️😋❤️

Always great food & service, revisited last week for lunch and as expected, everything was excellent. This place is so consistent with delivering quality food day in and day out. I had the striped bass special and my wife had the mussels. Can’t wait to return

The view on this place is unreal! I would recommend making a reservation. The food was delicious. For dessert I got the sorbet and it was so fruity! We had Genevieve as out waitress. She was sweet and accommodating.

Perfect lunch destination. Started with a delicious Bloody Mary with a large shrimp garnish. Had the Cherrystone clams, which were scrumptious. Met the most fun couple at the bar. Perfect day. Can't wait to go back. Gets crowded, so make a reservation.

Awesome! Started out with two dozen oysters and clams casino. Jenn got blacked yellowfin tuna. I got the jambalaya. Great seafood. Likable bartenders and wait staff. Place is packed, even on a Tuesday.

We recently had the pleasure of enjoying a Sunday brunch at the charming RI Restaurant, and it was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we arrived, the valet parking service and hostess set a nice chill vibe. Upon entering, we were greeted by the warm and inviting ambiance. The cute decorations and thoughtful touches around the restaurant created a fun environment, loved all the photos, lighting and posters with the correct pronunciation and background of "Matunuck" (Ma-too-nuk). We had the best seat outside tucked in the corner so we were surrounded by water on both sides. We saw the oyster boat go out for their tour but sadly we missed them coming back since we had to leave. That would have been great to watch or even participate it( that means we must come back to visit!) Our server, Genaveve, was exceptional. Her attentive and friendly service made us feel right at home and added to the overall enjoyment of our meal and didnt make us feel like we are PITA table. The menu offered a wonderful selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic libations. Each drink was beautifully garnished, adding an extra touch of elegance to our brunch. We got the mai ty and bloody mary with shrimp & oyster. I was particularly impressed with the delicious and creamy clam chowder, which was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced it went well with the house rolls. The star of the meal was undoubtedly the overflowing po' boy, generously served with a heaping portion of crispy fries. The hearty jambalaya was also a standout, with its rich and robust flavors that left us craving more. Overall, the waterfront restaurant provided an outstanding brunch experience. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic meal by the water. Highly recommended!

Went Saturday night to celebrate a friends birthday. Our bill came to $190.29. One couple left $125 cash and we put $125 on our credit card (I have the receipt). When I just went into my bank account they charged my card $190.29. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN!! There is no excuse for this. I work in a bar, I know how these register machines work. Now I have to go through the bother of calling them and getting this straightened out. I CLEARLY wrote “in cash” on the line that says “Tip”, then wrote $125 on the line that says total. This is very shady to me. BUYER BEWARE!!! I will even say that this could be considered credit card fraud and my bank will be notified. NO ONE should be running a credit card through for anything other then what is written on the total line!!

We went for lunch and we heard how lucky we were to get a table! The food was amazing vibes totally New England style. Would we go for dinner waiting hours outside to get a table ?? Surely not! Special mention to their home grown oysters they made our list of best oysters in the US.

You right on the little inlet of the water, and you can watch them bringing fresh oysters in on the boat, we sat there, and we saw like at least two different boats come in and bring in the oysters way cool. They have a variety of sitting areas, they have one all the way at the top.Many that are in the shade, and they even have one on, like a pontoon boat. The pontoon boat, they do use it show you and teach you.How and where they get the oysters. I do have an interest in possibly scheduling that tour. The food was very good. They had the oyster platter for my table and then one of us ordered the ahi and then my sister in law and I shared the stuffed lobster.It was very good. And then we had a side of vegetables that were really good. And then there was some ahi mini tacos that we had. We had a bottle of persecco. And each had a mixed either martini or tequila spicy margarita. Though it wasn't called that. It was jalapeno, infused tequila with blood orange, and then whalers rise. I didn't know what whaler's rise was, but I looked it up, and I guess it's a little bit of an ipa beer. Highly recommend seafood is amazing views are amazing. Get there early. We got there about 11 11 30. We're pretty much the first people to be seated, but as we left the place was jam packed with a line out the door. So definitely plan ahead. The bar was really cool too. The tile around the bar look like fish scales, and you could watch them shucking. The oysters. Five stars. Regarding the parking, it's pretty much all valet. Cause it's a beach little area and there's not a lot of parking, so just plan on that.

We went to this very busy place for dinner on a Saturday night in August. We had a reservation and were seated on time in a quieter room. Service was fast and efficient. Wine was chilled well. Tuna appetizer was tiny. We looked forward to full-bellied fried clams but were very disappointed. We received really poorly made clams with very few bellies. Not good and very expensive. On leaving, when we got our car back from the valet service we discovered the driver’s side floor had loads of sand on the floor.

We went there for the first time when visiting family and everything was Wonderful. We ordered oysters, scallop crudo, stuffed lobster, and king crab legs. Food and service were great! I would come here again.

We dined an early dinner on Monday 7/29. Staff was great. Disappointed in what is usually a very good meal. From the bar ordered gin and tonic and it was weak; Oysters were small and little flavor (oysters at other nearby restaurants were much more satisfying); ordered Lobster pizza, all we could taste was the ‘truffle’, the avocado on the grain bowl (puréed) tasted like it cam from a bucket (not fresh made), and lastly the chocolate bread pudding looked great, but again was missing flavor, maybe we got an end piece, though that wouldn’t explain the blah whipcream.

Always a great place to dine in the summer. If you’re smart enough to have made reservations in advance. Because it’s not easy to get in without reservations. It is basically always busy. But if you did make them the service is still great. Food is good as well. But the real reason I go there is the location and the outdoor deck. Kids love the key lime pops.

The food was super fresh, but the dining experience felt very similar to Joe’s Stone Crab if you know what I mean. It might just be a culture problem, but there’s probably better options in the area.

Matunuck Oyster Bar is FIVE stars across the board. Had a wonderful birthday dinner relaxing on the patio. Servers were extremely accommodating and very attentive. Appetizers came quickly, and tasted very fresh! I hesitate with new seafood restaurants because it can be rubbery or fishy smelling. Main courses were cooked to perfection. Prices were reasonable! I cannot express enough how much i enjoyed my dinner here.

Everything was delicious. We had rooftop seating which had a beautiful view. However, I was disappointed with the valet parking. My car was parked in the lot across the street and the attendant left the doors open and my Stanley cup got stolen from my car. Had I’d known they were not going to lock it, I would’ve parked it myself to ensure it was safe.

Matunuck oyster is by far one of the best restaurants in Rhode Island. We started off with the oyster trio, stuffies and they were phenomenal and also the seafood tower which was fresh and delicious. For an entree I had the scallops and they were cooked perfectly. Drinks are also very good! The atmosphere is wonderful. Definitely would recommend this place!

The only downside really is that it can get very loud and busy, which slows down the service, and negatively impacts the ambiance. Other than that single aspect, it's a really special restaurant. We saw birds fishing and oysters being harvested out of the window, and watched people going down the waterway by boat. Extensive seafood menu, incredibly fresh and worth going out of your way for.

Unfortunately might be one of my last visits. After it taking awhile for us to get our watered down drinks, due to them sitting at the bar for quite some time, then a tray of drinks falls right behind me and splashes on me. The serves dart, a couple minutes later the manager (I’m assuming) comes over, she does ask me nicely if everything’s okay, I tell her I got a few splashes she hands me a couple napkins then walks away. Now I’m ready for my second dirty martini, it comes over very foggy with three olives in it. I take a sip and it was 100% a lemon drop martini. I go up to the bar to tell the bartender that this isn’t the correct martini, I hand it back to him and he asks where I’m sitting. I say “im sitting right there where the tray of drinks just fell and splashed on me” he rolls his eyes and makes my drink. At this point I’m kinda annoyed cause like wth. The server comes over and asks what happened he didn’t see and I explain the drinks fell he replies “oh okay cool” and I inform him about my drink being wrong and I walked up to get my own. He apologizes. So now I’m thinking, okay maybe the remorse will reflect on the bill? Maybe the manager will come back and ask if everything else with our meal is okay? Well I was wrong which was super disappointing. The bill comes. No remorse or compensation. All in all meals were good, but the experience really brought it down for me. Super disappointed.

Wasn't even asked indoors ?, outdoors? Patio ?, Deck ? Bar ? That was a little disappointing. Otherwise, the food and service waa great as it always is. There at 11:30 this morning with plenty of available seating. My bad for not saying anything when we were kind of Stuck in a .corner.

Came here for an oyster date after hitting up the beaches. Oysters were fantastic and fresh and cocktails were very well made. I would definitely come here again.

Food was very good. Service unfortunately was fair at best. Atmosphere was VERY loud and I mean loud. A bit of a chaotic dining experience, but certainly worth a periodic visit. But tough to imagine it in a constant rotation.

Updated review - we are back on track for 5 stars. Always a 5 star experience but Perry you took away the best part of the place. The patio bar. It was always fine to wait a long time as that bar area was fun and gave the place it’s awesome vibe. Super disappointed it’s gone. Now it’s just another restaurant. Bring it back!

Annual beach trip concluded 2 weeks ago and the visit to Manunuck was unparalleled, as always. Raw oysters - omg, bourbon oysters - omg, grilled oysters - omg, mussells and french fries - omg, shrimp cocktail - delectable, and last but never least, I swear the tuna tartar tacos have gotten even better 🤤 This time, I got dinner and a show, a snowy white egret was hunting in the surf the entire time I was there, and I got to watch 3 seagulls try to stuff one last fish in their faces, and fail. Hysterical. Prev review: Shared raw oysters, bourbon oysters, shrimp cocktail, I always think of ordering more and just filling up here. But I moved on to the tuna tartare tacos (always) and shared the mussels. Delicious, this place always leaves me very full, very satisfied, yet wanting more, it’s a unique and fine line they walk. Suggestion: Have a mussels frites option listed on the menu (popular and a good broth delivery system for gluten free patrons who can’t use the baguette).

One of the best dining experiences I've had. Right on the water, just beautiful. I felt very safe with their social distancing practices, service was excellent. Food amazing, I would highly recommend the scallops, barbecued oysters, and bourbon oysters. You can even see the sorting of the oysters from your table which was interesting.

Service was kind of slow. And when I say kind of, I mean we ordered oysters and they took an hour to come out. But the matunuck oysters were pretty tasty. I also had a lobster roll and while it was pretty inexpensive for a lobster roll and they gave a decent amount of lobster, it felt a little dry and needed some more mayo or something. Atmosphere was great, but maybe I just came on an off day?

I love this place. Food is always solid and drinks are good. Oysters are always so fresh. My favorite dish is linguine with clam sauce.

What an outstanding experience. The seafood was absolutely amazing. Their Islander appetizer was to die for. As well as their clam chowder, steamers, house-made stuffies, lobster rolls, oyster po boy and their fish & chips. The server was attentive, personable and friendly. Plus the water views were spectacular. The atmosphere was very laid back but the best part was that they allowed our pet to join us. If you’re ever in the vicinity of Rhode Island I recommend you visit this jewel.

Has a such a nyummy food and lots of variance if u don't like seafood they have other option for you. U have to make a reserved and wait time is a bit long since this places is always full booked

Phenomenal. Order the Seafood Tower. You won't regret it. And if the weather cooperates, ask to sit on the rooftop deck. Great water views!
