It's a rare thing, having a bite that pulls you back to a moment in time, but that first taste here threw me straight into my childhood in Key West. It was beautiful, much like the entire dining experience. I could wax poetic about the flavors that washed over me as I devoured those empanadas, but I'll keep it simple: this place is authentic, from start to finish.

It says they are open on Sundays from noon and I arrived at 2:30pm and it was closed.

Came all the way from Buffalo, New York with Maxi Artisanal Empanadas at the top of our to do list. Amazing service, awesome music and most importantly delicious tasting food. The absolute best empanadas I’ve ever had all while being celiac safe.

Alright. Let’s talk about this gem by Fergs… The empanadas are to die for. I’ve ordered a few from this gentleman multiple times. They’re so good. Highly recommend ordering some from him if you’re by Fergs 🤌🏼

BEST EMPANADAS OF ALL TIME! I’ve traveled a lot and have had many authentic empanadas in my life. These are some of the best I’ve ever had! Genuinely the best service, the best taste, super authentic flavor, the crunch on the outside, and did I mention the sauces? Make sure you get them both! And don’t forget to ask for the guava and cheese empanada, it’s not on the menu, but it’s so fire! We love this place and we love the people who run it. Definitely give it a try. You will not be disappointed. I’m surprised this place doesn’t have a line down the street!!

AMAZING empanadas in the heart of the Edge District. Super friendly service and honestly the best empanadas I've ever had. Skip the generic burgers and fries and get the beef/potato or steak empanada.. you won't regret it!

One of the best Gluten-Free Empanadas that me, my wife and daughter have. Soo juice with a lot of meet. So soft and crunch. We order like 10 empanadas and we wish to have order more to bring back home with us. Hope one day we will see Maxi Artisanal Empanadas in Orlando. If you are a Celiac and have Gluten-Free allergy this is the best safe place to eat.

The Steak and the Beef & potato empanadas were freaking delicious. Must eat, I'll be returning. Best empanadas I’ve had since moving from Queens NY. Brother, the empanadas were delicious. I return again although a little expensive but well deserved.

Excellent empanadas!! I have celiac and having a late night, delicious, filling and cheap food option is usually nonexistent. Just discovered this place and went two nights in a row. Also, super kind staff! Even if you aren’t gluten free, I highly recommend. The food skippity slaps.

I’ve stopped here a number of times on my way home after being out with friends and having drinks. I eat vegan and their choices are absolutely delicious. Tonight he had two options which were both very good and the sauce is always wonderful. Highly recommend this place to grab a well-made tasty empanada.

This place! Empanadas were so good. The perfect amount of crisp. The filling was so flavorful. We had the steak. The beef and potato. And the mozzarella. Each one was perfect. Wife and kid loved the mozzarella. I loved the steak. Parm fries were on point as well. Christian, who runs the food truck as a family business, provided AMAZING service. You will not regret giving this place a try.

We got into town and needed a quick, casual dinner and saw the great reviews for this spot that was within walking distance of our hotel. We were not disappointed! The owner, Christian, was so kind and provided awesome service! The empanadas were absolutely delicious! Super hot and fresh, crunchy on the outside with flavorful filling. My personal favorite was the mozzarella empanada. Gluten free and vegan options available. Sidewalk tables are available to eat your empanadas fresh. If we were local, I’d definitely be a regular!

These are super tasty! Perfect crunch. Perfect temp. I had the chicken and potato and the mozzarella. Oh! And I tried both the mild and spicy sauces, they’re both amazing but to me both were pretty mild and palatable! Definitely going back for the steak! ☺️

We had 4 empanadas delivered. That was the biggest waist money ever. The empanadas have a corn like cardboard crust and the fries were rubber. I should have gotten Mac Donald's burger.... it would have been better.

Amazing empanadas! Great service and good food. I'm so happy it was all gluten free so I could have whatever I wanted. It made both me and my non-gf very happy. Be warned the guava cheese is mozzarella not cream cheese, that threw me off a little since I'm used to cuban style lol

We just stopped here after they were set up outside Ferg’s and wow. Incredible flavor and crunch. The service was top notch too. We got the steak, mozz, and then buff chix empanada and YUM

Celiac people, it’s safe to eat here!! Everything GLUTEN FREEE!!! The empanadas are made out of corn. 🌽 I have food allergies and I’ve never gotten any allergic reaction when I eat here. My favorite spot in St Pete. Best home made Columbian empanadas on a food trailer made fresh by Chris following his family recipe. On the corner of Central and 13th St right under Fergs Sports bar sign. It’s soooo good 😊

My partner and I were so excited to try these empanadas! We drove 30 minutes to the location on a Saturday afternoon. We double checked their hours before we got there and the truck wasn’t open and nobody was present. We waited 10 minutes and called the business twice with no answer. It would be appreciated if you had the correct hours on Apple Maps.

Everything on the menu was gluten free. I went with my friend who has celiac and it was so nice that she didn’t have to worry. The service was amazing and the owner was so kind. The steak empanada was definitely my favorite. The fries and sauces were delicious as well. Will definitely be returning and telling my friends about this spot.

We were on an hour plus wait for Hawkers and came here for some appetizers. Buffalo chicken with cilantro & Jalapeno sauce, and steak with pepper & onions with green goddesses sauce empanadas were amazing, flavorful, juicy filling and crunchy shell. If not for threats of violence from my gf i would have blown off hawkers completely to eat more empanadas!

Yummy food that accommodated our gluten-free friend!

Each time I am in the area and Maxi Artisanal is open, I MUST GO! Food never disappoints. This visit, it started to rain. Owner allowed us to sit in his car so we could stay dry and even brought us our food to eat in the car. When the rain stopped we ordered more empanadas to take to our friends at another establisment. Great gluten free food, delicious taste, fantastic service!

This is the best thing Fergs ever did is bring in this business. They are so good. Today I had the buffalo chicken, chicken & potato and roasted pork. All excellent. You can take inside Fergs. The sauces are also great! Highly recommend.

Let me tell you, Maxi Empanadas serves up the absolute best empanadas I've ever had the pleasure of trying. Seriously, they're mind-blowing! The mozzarella empanada is out of this world, and I can't recommend it enough. Not only that, but the service is super quick, the empanadas come out piping hot, and the place itself is just beautiful. You've got to check it out if you're in the mood for some empanada goodness!

Everything about this place are the characteristics you’d want a food truck to encompass. The empanadas were phenomenal. You can tell Christian is passionate about what he is doing. He was extremely friendly and went over the top to make sure our experience was good.
