We made the trip down from our visit to Deep Creek Lake and we were not disappointed. The food and service were great. Carry cash, that's the only suggestion I have.

Worth the drive. Good food every time

We stopped while on our way to a weekend get away in the mountains and the food was so good we stopped on the way back as well. It seems very much a community dining spot, but we were treated very kindly by the staff even if we were tourists. I had the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had and I've had it from south west WV to SW PA. The sweet tea was spot on. For future trips to this part of the state I will make sure to work Melanie's into our route.

I am hoping it was just an off day for them, but we didn't have a great experience. We got there just at the end of a rush, but got our drink order right away and placed our food order within 10 minutes. I got the lunch shrimp and fries and my husband got eggs, toast, potatoes and bacon. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. About 20 minutes after we got there, a large group of 10-12 people came in, placed their order and got their food about 20 minutes before us. We didn't order anything extravagant or crazy-breakfast and shrimp with fries. It took an hour for our food to come out. When we mentioned it, we got an "oh, was it that long?" The food was good and it was hot, but definitely not worth an hour wait. We were disappointed, the place always seems busy, so we thought service would be better.

As someone who delivers mail in Aurora, I find myself stopping to eat here all the time. The food is delicious and fairly cheap, the service is fast and friendly, and the place has such a friendly atmosphere, I love it so much!

Nice little country restaurant with great service. Had the Montana Onion Burger and it was huge! And also delicious. Would definitely go back.

Ordered breakfast. I had 2 eggs over easy, home fries bacon and toast. Everything was over cooked, eggs were scorched and fried hard. Toast was very hard, home fries wre very dry, not fresh. My wife had country fried steak, and Everything she had was also over cooked and hard. I definitely will not recommend this place and will never return. Also the waiter never checked to refill our drinks. After we asked for the check, the waiter was easily distracted and had to get his attention again for our check. Very poor service and food wasn't desirable at all.

I had one of the best haddock filets ever there, the fish was battered perfect with a good crisp texture, and fish meat was not dry. Our server was wonderful. The pancakes are awesome as well. They only take cast just a heads up. You can tell they take pride in their product and cleanliness too. Their prices are absolutely reasonable in today's economy too.

Old style small restaurant with fenomenal home made food. The prices are surprisingly low comparing to delicious food. Great portions, amazing greavy, large choice of fresh salad: tomatoes, onion, pickles, carrotes etc. If you like farmers kitchen, you will enjoy the way we did.

This place is fantastic! Right across the street from Cathederal State Park. Quality abd quantity of food is great. Husband had a burger and fries, I had the pancake breakfast with eggs and sausage. Best pancakes I have ever had. Burger was awesome e too. Will definitely stop again!

Family friendly down home mountain fresh eating! We were there for breakfast, which was amazingly fresh. Had the big steak and eggs breakfast sandwich on fresh toast made from scratch. Will definitely be making it a point to eat here again next time we are in the area. My wife had the sausage biscuits and gravy - she said it was the best she's ever had!

We sought out Melanie’s due to multiple recommendations. It did not disappoint. The food felt home cooked in a casual atmosphere.

This little diner has an amazing appeal and atmosphere. It's right by the state park. It's very down to earth with great local staff that work incredibly hard and are attentive to your needs. REMINDER THEY ONLY TAKE CASH OR CHECK. However I have been told there is a place down the road with an ATM. Please note that when we went yesterday to my knowledge there was only one waitress who did her very best to seat everyone, take orders, etc. as efficiently as humanly possible. Also if you're reading this please be kind to your wait staff or anyone in the food industry. Back on topic of the food, my brother got the brunch burger which was amazing and very filling. Do note their portions are generous, as I could not finish my western omelette which was stuffed full of goodness and the size of half the plate. The price are incredibly reasonable considering food costs, service, and portions. The thing I truly love is that they support other local small businesses. They were selling tumblers out of the case by the register, as well as a local photographers work on the wall. Otherwise they were phenomenal 11/10 would eat there again! And will continue recommending it!

When I picture a small town dining experience in West Virginia, this is the place that comes to mind. The staff here are wonderful and kind. The restaurant is beautifully made to resemble a lodge in the mountains. The food is just perfectly made as well. I left Melanie's with a full belly and no regrets.

Place is packed on a Sunday, fair warning. But the people were very nice, portions were good for the money, and the food was wholesome.

A very nice, extremely clean restaurant. We visited Melanie’s on our way home from a weekend of traveling to view the fall foliage. The staff (gentleman who served us) were friendly and attentive. The salad bar comes with your meal and was fresh with plenty of choices. I decided on the deep fried oysters, baked potato and green beans. My husband chose the Grilled Chicken O’Brien smothered with onions, sweet peppers cheddar and mozzarella cheese. The food was delicious and hot!
