The meat stuffed pizza is amazing. They service is quick and friendly. When I feed 4 adults a meat stuffed pizza, we always have leftovers. They make a huge pie.

Best Italian food around, I won't go anywhere else for 5 years now..

Excellent food. The place was clean and had great pizzeria atmosphere with various pizzas on display and hard working staff working the ovens and making the pizzas. We ordered a Sicilian slice which was deliciously light and airy; penne Ala vodka which was creamy and perfect with loads of sauce - I love it saucy; eggplant parm hero which was humungous and will have the other half for lunch tomorrow and the lasagna bolognese which was a healthy portion. Loaded with sauce and cheese, which was delicious, but I wish it had a more tomato flavor. There was grated cheese and crushed red pepper on the table. Although I put grated cheese on my pizza and pasta I didn't really taste it. Not sure if cheese was Romano or parmesean. All in all the food was very good and I would return to try something else. I'll have to bring my own grated cheese LOL. Also there was live music when we were there Wednesday night.

This is one of those extremely competent pizzerias that wrongly attempts to become a full-service sit-down Italian restaurant with a gigantic diverse menu. Focus on their pies. They are excellent and sticking with their pizzas increases your chance of having an optimal experience. We found their pies have achieved that balance of flavor with a NY-style chewy, yet somewhat crispy, crust. Michelangelo’s seem to have cracked the code on this technique and mimicked it very well. They also sell by the slice making it a great pit stop for lunch.

I grew up in Queens and am very picky about pizza! Michaelangelos offers an extensive menu of various entrees, heros, salads as well as fantastic pizza. There’s gluten free pizza as well! Must visit !

We went here for our 1st time yesterday and loved it! Finally found a pizza that was closest to our NY pizza, minus the dusting of cornmeal at the bottom but nonetheless delicious! Service was exceptional and atmosphere was family like. Our server was Brooke and she was absolutely fantastic! Friendly; personable; attentive and funny…we loved her! Overall, we left feeling great about this place all around and looking forward to become regulars. Win win!

Way to glance over my comment and respond from a perspective of ignorance. -"What are hots"? What a ridiculous question...hot peppers...red pepper spice, you know, a normal Italian sub...Visting your establishment reminded me that there is NO good Italian food in Lakewood Ranch. Giani's is the only legit spot around here. ***end of update*** I ordered an Italian sub over the phone, asked for extra hots. It was a take out order. The cashier confirmed, Italian sub, with hots. Got home and realized there are no hots. So it’s basically a bland sub. Quality of the bread and cold cuts is good, but an Italian sub isn’t an Italian sub without hots. If I knew this was what I’d get I would have just gone to Publix. I work from home, no opportunity to return it, so I ate this disappointing sub. If I lived 5 mins away I would have returned it. Sincerely disappointed.

My family absolutely loved our dinner here. Brooke went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing and very fresh. Our favorite dish was the grandma's Sicilian pizza. We look forward to going back for another great experience.

Michelangelo’s Pizza is hands down the best darn pizza you could ever get in Lakewood Ranch or Sarasota. It reminds me of the pizza from back home in the Northeast, which is almost impossible to find in Florida. Thank you for ending my search for the best pizza in Southwest Florida. Keep up the great work—I won't go anywhere else when in need of a good pie!

I will have to give everything one only because I purchased a gift card for $50 from Michelangelo‘s pizza. Well, actually, it was given to me as a gift I’ve been using it and they sold me a credit card type gift card. I went into purchase some food and they looked at the gift card and said oh we can’t use this, we got rid of them. We’ve been writing out paper ones and we can’t even find out what your balance is. Is that fair? I really don’t care that you stopped using these and are writing out paper ones. I still spent money there and I can’t cash in fully on my gift card. I find that to be a poorly run business. I have many years running and working in a pizzeria and I know there’s a way to figure this out but all they kept saying was I’m sorry we don’t use those gift cards anymore and I can’t find out what kind of balance you have. It would be lovely if the owner responded with a solution. I’m just putting this out there because even though they say they now write out their gift certificates, can you trust in the fact that they’ll be any good? All I know is I lost money a gift card gift from my mother.

YUMMY! Good gosh, the veal parmesan hero is outstanding. If I lived close by, this would be a go-to place on a regular basis. And everyone there is so friendly.

So I have loved Michaelangelos since my first Bite in 2006. However, this time something was off. The pizza tasted really salty. Did you change your recipe? My friend ordered last week on my recommendation and she stated the same. I don't know what has changed? I recommend going back. The pie was just too salty. My lips are still numb. Otherwise, the restaurant is great. Nice atmosphere. Great service staff. Lastly, I do not know if you can pass this along but the pot holes in the parking lot are atrocious. I almost broke my car. I would highly recommend getting this fixed ASAP. It's gonna make people upset if they pop a tire or ruin a wheel. Let me know if you go back to the original recipe on the pie. Just too salty for me now. No longer my go to pizza. Shane as it was perfect for nearly 20 years.

This is our go-to place for pizza and calzones. The calzones are huge so I suggest buying a "slice" for 1 person. It is actually big enough for two. The sauce is very good and fresh. There was live entertainment when we were there. The singer was very good and made for a great atmosphere. Our family has made it a tradition to go here after all after-school activities. I almost forgot....all you need is one slice of stuffed meat pizza and you will also be stuffed.

I went on a Saturday and there were several groups of young people who came out of a game and I had to wait almost an hour for the food.

I guess when you order toppings on your what they call pizza you need to include cheese flat flavorless sauce given 25 minutes pick picked up in 18. Still was cold. Greek salad was a pile of romaine, if I wanted a Cesar I would have ordered one. And they wanted a 10 buck tip on a 42 buck order for takeout. Lesson learned.

Being from New York I'm always on the hunt for a good italian restaurant. Definitely worth a visit. Their baked clams are out of this world also had the chicken picatta melted in my mouth n the flavor so yummy. Definitely coming back

Door dash wasn’t allowing me to order gluten free so I called the restaurant and they helped me get exactly what I wanted! Super nice and accommodating staff. The gluten free pizza was very good!

The lunch 2 slices and a drink is a great value. The pizza was fresh and very good. The restaurant is clean. The waitstaff could be more attentive so customers don’t wait as long to order, get refills and pay the bill.

Loved everything about Michelangelo! I really wanted to try a cannoli, and the shell tasted fresh and crunchy with a ricotta filling that was perfectly sweet. It was a perfect ending to the perfect pineapple pizza. The best part is how you can order single slices of multiple types of pizza. So perfect for various tastes! We also very much enjoyed their calamari. Will come back again.

Michaelangelos has been a LWR staple for years. Their stuffed meats pizza is a classic. I’ve lived out of state for several years now and just ordered some take out while visiting family here. Everything was fabulous and fresh. Prices are a bit steep BUT you get what you pay for.

Great place, food was fresh and tasty. They have excellent pizza and a great variety of toppings. Highly recommended. My wife loves their Grandma pie.

Our server was in the weeds and she did not take very good care of us at all but I understand she was very busy and everything else was exceptional

We are regulars on this location, and the food is always on point. But yesterday, we ended up leaving without being served. After being seated, our waiter went to talk to some other customers in another table and spent 20 minutes there, while we were waiting for our order to be taken. We told the greeter to either tell him we were ready to order or have someone else take it, but she did two laps around the tables and didn't even talk to him. We walked out after 30 minutes of being seated. They need to work on customer service....

I've been there twice for pick up recently. The last pizza was a spinach pie with excellent taste and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Supreme the week before it was perhaps the soggiest pizza I've ever had. We couldn't even pick a slice up even after reheating the crust. What can I say it was a disappointment to have to eat it with a fork and knife. Having said this, I would go back the service is really good and everyone is entitled to a 2nd chance.

Eat here whenever I visit Sarasota.

The cheese pizza and all three soups were excellent the bbq chicken pizza was inedible they use fried chicken and a really weird bbq sauce (it was the most expensive pizza $27) sadly it was wasted but we know for next time what to get and what not to get!

My daughter presented this place to me being her neighborhood place to eat...and I've seen it full of wonderful people Friday night so the following Tuesday I sat down with 2 of my teenage grandchildren, My entrée (Lasagna) was a insulting taste of almost nothing but sauce that was called quoated "meatsauce" But meat showed up practically no where, But I will return there cause obviously theres good food I think! Just my plate was a terribly cooked! My waiter was excellent with service.

Poor poor service and was charged 2x for same order. The 3 of us went out to have a nice dinner we usually always order from here 3-4 times a month sometimes more. This particular night we were treated awful. Asked for to go containers for our soup and was given a huge tin pan with plastic cover. When asked a young man waiter to ask our server " patti" to please supply us with a to go cup container we heard her say " they already got their freaking containers sitting in front of their face God damn Thene she proceeded to charge us seperately. When we never asked her to provide separate checks. It ALL WAS VERY EMBARRASSING. WHEN I had seen the charge went through when specifically told her " not to run that card.she grabbed it and rushed off asap I was bringing out my new card but she had left already. My bank honored it of 36 & change however charged me 25$ in courtesy pay. When I called tonight the woman manager who refused to disclose her name. She treated me as a 3rd class citizen. We will not be back and will make sure patty & the manager whom I spoke on phone receives proper training skills with human people. Who have spent plenty over years as well as hosting dinner parties.

First time today at the restaurant. We got a table quickly. The server took the order for the drinks and few minutes later we ordered a pizza. After 20 minutes, pizza arrived! Great taste, crust, cheese,etc was very good.. Our only disappointment was the our server , after giving us our food, he disappeared in the back, I think where they have the drinks. We noticed the other servers taking good care of their customers, but our server we have to stand up and look for him to ask for a box and the check. Also I ask for a second glass of sweet tea and he came back with water 😞.

They were very busy and still managed to get my To Go order out quickly.. Spaghetti and meat balls were very good.They also serve pizza by the slice...you will like it

I have read several very positive reviews or at least several people giving 4 or 5 stars without writing a review. (Maybe friends) But personally, I don't get it. Last week we ordered the New Yorker pizza, and it just wasn't very good. It came out cold, well not hot as though it had been sitting around for several minutes before serving. Normally I have to worry about burning my mouth on the first few bites. But not with this one. There were very little toppings just ridiculous how few there were. I mean they were sparce. Like they were being rationed. Let's call them frugally added. Almost not there. Definitely NOT generous. Get the picture? Basically, no sauce, the pie was drowned in oil and the crust blah. It just didn't taste good at all. But at $24 I am sure that it was a very profitable pie. The waitress gave us a free piece of cake to make up for everything. It was good. Won't be returning.

The food is worthy of those places with the white linen tablecloth servers in tuxedos. But the pricing and the friendliness of the staff is typical of the local pizzeria. Best gravy (aka sauce) it's pretty darn close to what mom used to make and the veal is to die for. Highly recommended for the entire crew. Bring the kids and Chow down!

Great Italian food. Pizza is excellent. Very fresh salads. Portions are large.. Service was excellent. Brook is exceptional, very friendly and pleasant. I have been there many times and the food is always consistent, along with the service. Very clean establishment. Highly recommend.

I recently had a pizza from Michelangelo’s and it was a disappointing experience. The toppings were scanty, leaving the pizza looking more like a plain pie than one with a fair amount of toppings (and this was not the first time they did this). For $3.50 for basil, one would think you’d see a bit more on the pizza. Additionally, despite requesting a well-done crust, it arrived disappointingly undercooked. Overall, not a satisfying pizza experience. Their pizza is mediocre at best. Being from NJ, I know a good pizza when I have one. Unfortunately, here is not where you’re going to find one.

I normally do not do reviews, but last week I made a call in order and the order got mixed up when I arrived to pick it up. Normally this leads to tension and blame but not at Michelangelo's! They took care of everything, and we left with smiles and GREAT food! We highly recommend this great family restaurant!

Very large and great tasting pizza. Had some left to take home and reheat. Still just as good as at the restaurant.

Takeout food is little better than previous, but new owners take out service girls are really a disaster, 50% of time something missing, check before you leave, when you notice something missing, they will just say oh yeah here. 🙄

Awesome pizza and appetizers, the crust is great and cooked perfectly. I really like the flavor of the ingredients like the olive oil in the garlic knots. I would say their spicy buffalo pizza was way more salty than it should be and it kind of dulled out the rest of the food. Their service was great, quick, and polite.

Pizza was good. Never got a drink refill and they weren't that busy. Wanted meatballs, but asked if they made their own and waiter said no, they used to, but now they are the frozen kind.

I would Highly recommend Michelangelo's for your catering needs. The quality and freshness of the food was above and beyond. The amount of food I needed was accurately estimated by the friendly staff when ordered and they made some great recommendations. Thank you for making all my guests very happy!

My favorite pizza place, please try the Eggplant Parm pizza! So good! Great garlic knots too. I like their Alfredo sauce. Overall, this place is the BEST!

Once again . . . the only reason for our "3 Star" rating is for their takeout orders. They do not follow any instructions and it's a "hit and miss" that you actually receive what you ordered. Everything about our pizza and salad New Years Eve was a disappointment! With all the new Italian/Pizza restaurants near LWR they should fix this problem ASAP . . . we are done with Michelangelo's. We counted on Michelangelo's tonight for our portion of New Years Eve dinner with family and friends and they failed. Be wary of "Take Out" orders! FYI - They were not understaffed or excessively busy when we arrived.

First of all, if you are from up north especially, look no further than Michael Angelo’s for true, authentic Italian cuisine. Then the bonus…. Josh the server!!! This guy is hands down THE best this side of the peninsula. He is efficient, attentive, and straight up on top of his craft. His recommendations exceed my expectations and his service was nothing less than professional and courteous. Forget Gianni’s, forget Ricco’s…. Michael Angelo’s is the move! Their marinara sauce is next level! If you are Italian or love Italian food…. Run do not walk to MA’s!

I love this place, but this time around, it was horrible! I usually get pasta, wings, pizza rolls (Stromboli), etc, but I choose pizza this time. As you can see in the pics, the pizza was made messy and sloppy, the bottom of the crust was burnt, and the pizza wasn’t even cut!! I’m not sure why any cook would be fine with serving a pizza like this. Possibly because it was delivered through a third party? If so, that shouldn’t matter. All customers should receive good service.

What a wonderful establishment, the atmosphere is very welcoming. On a busy Friday night, we were a giant party, so many I don't know the official number, and the service was fantastic, our server, Josh was awesome! The food was spectacular. I highly recommend the baked clams! The Veal Hero was delicious, best I've had in a long time. My husband had the lasagna and it was brilliantly seasoned, the noodles were perfectly al dente, super cheesy, and the Bolognese was delectable!

music was loud and irritating. Wait staff good, food good and timing not so great. That stupid angry music was on, and again too loud. The music makes dining there very un-relaxing! Our favorite pizza though.

Why do I eat here every time I'm in town? Because they hands down have delicious pizza, and so many selections. It's like going to a pizza buffet, bakery style. The Ceasar salad is fresh with large shavings of parmesan. The prices at lunch are cheap! If you love a variety of pizza choices, this is IT.

Transplant from the Philly area. Anything with dough in Florida just isn’t the same as the Northeast but this is the best pizza around. Closest to home that you will find. Order “well done” and you won’t be disappointed. Their meatball parm sandwich is good too.

Great LOCAL business, very attentive service. Fantastic food, never had a bad meal here. The usual go to for me is buffalo chicken pizza, new favorite is the lasagna pizza...sounds weird but doesn't disappoint at all.

Our new favorite pizza place for sure! Be adventurous and try new things because you can do that at Michelangelo's! We ordered the spinach and ricotta pizza (no red sauce) and the margherita. If you enjoy stuffed mushrooms, definitely order them. They are full of flavor and the portion is generous for sharing. Beer nor wine is served, but you are welcome to BYOB. They brought us complimentary wine glasses; we tipped accordingly and recommend that as well. Our server was friendly and delightful. Looking forward to dining here again soon.

Michelangelo never disapoints! I've been a patron since they first opened. Their roots and reputation as a NY pizza place originally drew me in. Becomming a pizza aficionato is inevitable when you grow up on Long Island NY. The pizza, cheese or specialty is authentic and the chicken parm, sausage and peppers or pasta fagiole are my favs and top notch! If you are craving true NY pizza in a locally owned business this the place for you.

Casual place with excellent pizza! A New Yorker finally ate delicious pizza in Florida! Our waitress, Brooke, was very sweet and personable and provided excellent service. We had a Grandma thin crust Silician that was amazing. The chicken parmigiana slice was delicious as well! Definitely will be back!
