The stay at Montauk Park was great. But the Lodge was VERY expensive on everything, and it was like they did not do upkeep on anything. The cabins are almost 250 a night now, and we're dingy looking. They had wallpaper peeling away from the wall. There was a butcher piece of hard plastic or something they used for a shower curtain. The power there went out twice while there for four days. There were no bugs in the cabins, but I don't know why not honestly. It looked like a cozy place for them to hang out honestly. The towel and tp ladies were awesome. They kept you stocked up. I'd just say they need to spend some of that money on fixing up the places and not keeping it for themselves since you're paying ridiculous amounts of money for what you're getting. Then there was the electric vehicle charging station. What a ridiculous and lousy waste of money. Do you get tons of real trout fishing men driving a stupid, overpriced electric vehicle. If so, you better have a generator available for sale as they will need one sooner or later that gar out of town.

Today we arrived at the Montauk State Park Lodge at 5:15pm to check into two cabins. Check in is 3:00pm. It is 8:15pm and we are still waiting for our cabins. This is totally unacceptable!

Absolute WORST experience eating here today. The waitress seemed annoyed to be working. The food was TERRIBLE. We came in STARVING. And left hungry. I literally ate 4 bites of the patty melt, and the corn nuggets ( the corn nuggets were good). The patty melt was DRY and completely unseasoned, served on a toasted thin marble rye bread. The waitress was inattentive, never asked how our food was, she asked if we wanted a to go box- so I let her know I did not and let her know it was terrible. ( I wouldn't feed that to a dog). She didn't offer any discounts or compt even though my plate was barely touched. I would have told her sooner but she never came back over. Anyway. The fried chicken diner was at least edible, but not anything to write home about. Cheese curds were good. Moral of the story - bring your own food to bbq or go somewhere else.

Beautiful location with a nice little convenience store. Restaurant offers a buffet but was not super impressive nor cheap. Super friendly staff.

Beautiful big shady walking trails,nice people wonderful place for kids to visit we went their for a meeting with 4-H club for a bar be que. Then took the kids over to the trout hatchery Then over to the lodge for some soft ice cream and a tee shirt for a momento.

Missouri State Park. Wonderful experience. Clean , Beautiful Place. Great fishing and camping. Nice cabins, rooms and camp sites. A must visit

The staff at Montauk as usual are helpful and knowledgeable! Always a pleasure coming back here!

It was great for the most part. The restaurant employees were friendly and courteous. Ms. Darlene in the store was fantastic. I was fishing on the wrong side of the dam, it started raining and I go to the camp grounds about 11:00 and they don't open until 1:00 so I left for home and would have stayed 3 days.

We went trout fishing and had a blast! My brother caught two and I didn't catch any but I sty had so much fun.. can't wait to go back! We just live about 20+ miles away so it was a day trip..

Didn't stay in a room, just ate at the restaurant. Staff is very friendly. They were also very accommodating even though we arrived just before closing.

Staff was very friendly. Chilli tasted like homemade and ingredients were perfect.

Cabin was just fine. No issues at all. Just a bit older.

My wife and I had a nice meal together at the lodge. Our meals were very good and delicious. And the waitress was very attentive to provide great service. Would probably go back. Highly Recommended!

We enjoy eating at the restaurant. The food is good and the service is usually good. The prices aren’t bad for being in the lodge at the park.

We just visited the store. Bought our trout tags and had a icecream cone. Well stocked store, Friendly employees.

Cold beer, good food and a great atmosphere!

When you need to relax and enjoy nature and of course fishing, you will want to add this to your list of must go. The staff is wonderful, he joked with us, provided all the information we needed and got us our trout tags all within 5 minutes.

Bought daily tags and ice cream . Caught a couple trout and had fun with son and grandsons. Even got to witness my 2 year old catching his first trout...

We always camp here at least once a year. My whole family looks forward to the fishing. The kids look forward to the programs and the ice cream!!

We were parked next to the trash bins. It was so stinky even after the trash was picked up. Maybe it needs to be power washed. It was disgusting to say the least. We have been to Montauk State Park at least 2 dozen times. I guess we were fortunate not to be parked at sites 209 and 211.

A fantastic location. Beautiful, peaceful, decent fish. I did manage to catch one good sized Rainbow. My advice; look at the fly's for sale in the store and then fish with something different. These trout have become used to seeing the same ole' stuff. I threw something different at them on day #2 and did really well. Highly recommend especially if you are vacationing with wife/ kids or older parents

Love coming to have dinner & enjoy their breakfast buffets on weekends.

Always a great place to get a hot breakfast after wading in the cool current river in the early morning.

I did not spend the night so cannot comment on the rooms or lodging. Gift shop has reasonably-priced items compared to other places, especially if you are purchasing rock related items.

Went on our first trout fishing trip in many years. Didn't catch any, but we had a GREAT TIME!!!

When there is double rooms in the cabins ya need to put a grill and picnic table on both sides. There was a family on the other side of is on their side was 2 grills and 1 picnic table they wouldn't let us use a grill because they was using on for grilling and was gonna use the other one for a bon fire. You can't fit a family of 4 with 2 other people especially when you have unruly children.

We stopped here for dinner with some friends and were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. The adjacent camp store was well stocked with all sorts of gear and food as well as local memorabilia and crafts. Oh and don't leave without visiting the ice cream counter!

Samantha was the kindest server. I took a couple of cleaned and beheaded rainbow trout in and they fried them up in a flash. So yummy!

Good, decent food, decent prices

Get most of what’s needed here and then some. From License, to items forgotten at home , souvenirs, basic food staples , fishing gear , besides bait etc , to rods , nets , even waders . A lunch counter plus serving ice cream and desert . And the Full service restaurant separated in back away from sometimes chaos around the license counter . We’ve met some great people here offering great conversation.

Great spot for some food and relaxing. Talking with other fisherman and sharing stories is what it's all about. The lodge has all the fishing gear you need if you forgot something.

I just got the pasta and asked to chef it up. Some mushrooms, white wine, and garlic broccoli later I had my second favorite pasta I have ever eaten. It was amazing. I don't even like mushrooms and I ate every one. Guess I do now!

The lodge is a great place to go when camping at the park. Also if you've never ate at the lodge while camping you should! They have some great food and good cooks!

The food here is really good. But it is high in price.

We didn't stay at the lodge. We were about a mile up the road. But we did eat lunch, breakfast at the lodge. Reloaded on fishing gear if needed. Overall, I loved the atmosphere and will definitely be returning.

Been camping here since I was a baby. It's now my husband and children's favorite place to camp & trout fish. If you've never been here, you're truly missing out. If there is a heaven on earth, this is the place!! They also have a good restaurant with excellent fried chicken!! The gift shop at the lodge is very nice as well. Make sure you visit the hatchery it's a really neat place to take the kids to feed the fish. The campgrounds are always clean as well as the shower houses. I just wish they offered full hook ups!! The second we enter the park and I hear the water flowing under the bridge, the rest of the world just fades away!! I highly recommend this place!!

After fishing all day, we went to lodge for dinner. This restaurant was amazing. While we were enjoying dinner, deer came right up to the windows. What a cool experience. The servers were so friendly as well. Will definitely be going back soon. Wish I could give more than 5 star’s

This is a beautiful place for the whole family. Nice cabins, neat trails and good trout fishing. A place to just enjoy the outdoors.

I went in unsure what to expect, as I didn't see many reviews for their hotel rooms, and the website isn't very useful in describing what they are like. My answer is "not bad". If you're here on vacation, it's probably great. If you're here because it's the most convenient location to where you're working, you might want to consider your other options. This place is very much geared toward fishing and that's what everyone I encountered was doing. As an FYI, there is a siren that sounds around 7 AM & 7:30 PM relating to fishing in the park. Pros: Fridge & microwave were probably the nicest of anywhere I've stayed without a dedicated kitchen, beds were comfortable with lots of pillows, TCL TV with DirecTV, clean room with vinyl flooring, friendly staff & easy to work with, back door with screen door opens to small greenspace (frequented by wildlife) with picnic tables and grills Cons: Only ATT seems to get cell service here, free WiFi accessible only in the dining area or outside by the hotel office (even the closest rooms don't get signal), no freezer in the rooms (there is a public one outside by the hotel office, my food was fine in there), the bathroom isn't great (shower either slowly drained or didn't drain at all, toilet ran about every 15 minutes, oddly tiny sink, ancient vent fan), the chair in the rooms is extremely uncomfortable and the 2 "desk" options were at inconvenient heights, front door could use some new weather stripping

Great people, food and atmosphere!

Great place to visit and wonderful people work there, but the prices are outrageous! It's more of a BOUTIQUE now rather than a Trout Fishing Lodge.... They are going for the look of elegance not outdoor adventures! They continue to carry fewer fishing supplies and more souvenirs. The park is still one of my favorite places to camp and fish, the store on the other hand is the least.

Always fun to shop and see the locals, fun quirky items and t-shirts, shot glasses and lures. Great ice cream and OMG banana splits!

Had dinner at the restaurant. The ribeye pork chop with rosemary compound butter was delicious. Nice roomy dinner hall, views of deer and birds just outside. Our server Tammy was very busy, and still was able to joke and provide us excellent service. On night 2, had the chicken fried chicken. Excellent flavor very tender. Again Tammy was very busy and still managed excellent service. Give this place a try.

This place is usually a zoo in busy season at the lake, not to friendly or kind. This week was a down week, and most were kind and friendly and helpful, even after placing Mobil order to wrong store. Drinks were tasty and all my foods were in stock. Thank you keep up the hard work..love it when you say hi when people walk in and acknowledge you. 😀

The lodge is a good place to stay while trout fishing. The restaurant has a large selection of food to choose from. And the wildlife outside the window is amazing. deer, humming birds, squirrels and many other critters. The gift shop has a large variety of souvenirs....something for everyone.

Bought a few things from the lodge shop. Very cool place, it's for fishermen & outdoorsmen.

The lodge was great! Went there for ice cream! Has all the basic things you would expect at a state park store.

First things first, WOW. What a beautiful area!! Such a great place and what a great selection of things, all what one would need under one roof. The staff are like family, so polite and helpful.

I love everything about Montauk State Park. It's beautiful. Fishing the crystal clear Current River right at it's spring source is the hilight of our stay.They have cabins, camping and apartment style accommodations. The grounds are pristine. Reservations fill up a year in advanced but the wait will be worth it! And...they have the best ice cream and restaurant. There's a retail bait shop on site.

Tammy was amazing! Trails were nice! Food, meh. Nobody wearing masks, was kind of disheartening.

That place is my second home away from home and I love the place I give it five stars anyway I could give it a thousand stars if I had it
