Best Cuban sandwich I’ve had.. really recommend.. and the strawberry shake delicious

I was excited to go try this food after reading all of the stellar reviews. It was absolutely amazing! Can't wait to come back to try something new.

Morena’s has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Winter Haven! The food is consistently delicious, and the owners and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. After moving to the area from South Florida a few years ago, I found it challenging to find authentic Miami Cuban cuisine. However, Morena’s ham croquetas, steak sandwich, and Cuban sandwich are simply perfection. I haven’t encountered a dish I didn’t love! I stop by frequently not only for the food but for the people. If you haven’t gone by - you need to. You won’t be disappointed

UPDATE: Morena's staff took what i said to heart and made some accommodations for future customers! It is extremely rare to find places that respond this way. Makes Morena's an even better choice when deciding to support your local businesses! Get out there and visit these amazing folks and enjoy some amazing food!! When I read about Morena's in Haven magazine, I knew I had to try this place out! I'm a big fan of Cuban sandwiches, and that is something Winter Haven has lacked for a while. Decided to go one day for lunch and ordered the Cuban and made it a combo. Cuban runs about $13.95 and an extra $5.50 to make it a combo with fries and a drink. First off, the Cuban was amazing! Perfectly seasoned pork and a sweet ham between perfectly pressed Cuban bread! Now, on to the combo part (pic is not of the combo). This is where something falls a tad short. For $5.50, I got a 20oz Diet Coke and about 10 fries. I don't see how this justifies the extra $5.50. Then, I asked for ketchup and got three very small packets to split between two people. While I did leave full and satisfied, they should ease up on the combo price (total of $41 for two of us to eat sandwhiches and fries) or give some more fries at the very least. That being said, they are super friendly people and I really enjoyed my lunch. Oh! I also got an empanada! I can't miss trying those out! Flavor was on point and full of beef! I highly recommend the empanadas! The eating area is small but very clean, and they sell things like hot sauce, jewelry, and tumblers. I will certainly be back. I also learned there are some coupons on The Coupon Book for a BOGO 1/2 off sandwiches. I'll be armed with that next time as well. Be sure to give them a visit and support a local small business. It's a four star review based solely on the combo price. Otherwise, Morena's is a perfect addition to the Winter Haven food scene!

My hubby and I had lunch here and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! The beef empanadas, the beef, guava and guava & cheese pastelitos, Cuban sandwich, chicken special in red sauce, yuca, black beans & rice, French fries and tres leches. Oh, me, oh, my, oh!!! Sssssoooooo delicious!!!!!! Our first time, definitely won’t be the last!

I recommend that you buy the sancocho. Exquisite. 💯 The best I've eaten since I arrived in Florida. The manager is very attentive, as are the employees.

We live in Avon Park about 45 minutes away from Morena's Cafe and follow them in FB. We decided to take a drive to have lunch, and we are extremely happy to have lunch at Morena's. We had Sancocho and pollo en salsa roja con arroz blanco y tostones, and both were amazing. I also tried the alcapuria de yuca for the first time, and that blew me away. Don't forget to try the pudin de pan for dessert it will not disappoint you. We are both very happy to have taken the drive to Morena's Cafe. We went back yesterday, and we had the beef stew with rice and black beans, maduros, and breaded chicken with rice red beans and crispy fried yuca they were bursting with flavor. We also took home the carrot cake in a jar, and that is also out of this world. The pastelitos and the stuffed potatoes were better than the ones I had back in Miami. My wife doesn't like potato salad, and she tried theirs, and she loved it. If you're in Winter Haven, make sure to drop by and have some Latino food with Sabor!!

Small little award winning bakery deli, wit h very delightful people working there. Small bakery/deli's are the best as everything is made mostly fresh and tastes homemade. Was able to go in and get what I was looking for (pastelitos and croquetas) to be able to take back home.

Just a wonderful little place I found in Winter haven. The husband and wife couple that own it and cook everything are just wonderful. My cuban sandwich really had alot of flavor and was very good I loved it. I also had a chicken empanada which I took home for my dinner later and it was awesome. I can't wait to return and I will 100% support this couples business. They also have homemade desserts.

First time trying this new little local establishment and we were not disapointed! Cuban was the best in our area, and the pork sandwich was equally delicious with the good ingredients and wonderful bread! We will be back and will spread the word!

I don’t know what makes this place Dominican or Cuban, it didn’t have much of what you expect from either cuisine all they sold was a couple sandwiches and like 3 different pastries/ fried things. Hopefully it gets better or they just say they are a simple sandwich shop .

Went there yesterday for the first time saw it was Dominican food in the area. El pescado de ayer con tostones waoow el final estaba buenisimo. Excellent service from the whole family. happy this is close to my house will be going more often.

Being originally from New Jersey and living around a large Cuban community , and being used to good authentic Cuban food , I am so happy I came across this restaurant in Winter Haven FL. They have great Cuban food and other Latin dishes . Their empanadas are huge and very tasty . Their Miami/ Jersey style Cuban sandwiches are made perfectly to perfection . The prices are good and staff are super friendly . Let’s not forget about their great tasting desserts too . You want some good Cuban food look no further and check this place out .

First time here I came for the sancocho but I was serve beef stew instead which was too salty for me I guess I would try another time the place is nice but I suggest to check the order before leaving

First time, at this restaurant that we drove an hour for. So we tested the menu by purchasing 1 guava/chees pastry and a ham, egg & cheese empanada. We were in disbelief how satisfied our taste buds were. We immediately went back up to the counter and ordered 2 more empanadas, 1 potato/beef ball (the crust was to perfection.) 1 lemon cake ( I would rate 3/5) I would love to taste more of that lemon flavor. Lunch meal of their black rice accompanied by their peppered steak. It was delicious especially when paired with their white garlic cilantro sauce. The food, was absolutely amazing. You can even taste that the meat was properly cleansed and prepared island style. The owners, were communicative and the hospitality was blissful.

I really liked the breakfast sandwich, it was delicious and the owner is super attentive and affectionate.

Finally had a chance to visit this lovely place. I usually go on Saturdays at the Winter Haven Farmers Market. The restaurant is cozy and very welcoming. I got a Cuban Style Cafe con Leche and Beef Pastellitos. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be back to try her famous Cuban Sandwich.Support Local Businesses ❤️

Me and my coworkers come here all the time for lunch. The atmosphere is great and what’s nice is that they have a special - something different every time and it never fails to impress. Trying out the steak, red beans, and rice today!

Everything about this place is awesome from the customer service to the food and even the coffee. Hands down the best Cuban around and personally one of the best I’ve probably ever had even after living in Miami. This place is definitely a new go to for myself and recommend it to everyone!

Really nice hospitality. Quiet location, and a nice little scenery within the establishment. The host was really nice and told us about the product she has. Overall friendly service.. With decent food. To be honest the chicken sandwich was basically a frozen pattie. Plantain chips were not fresh. And the coffee needs a little work. But that's just my opinion. Morena's Cakes & More Bakery Cafe, LLC We tried out a new bakery & cafe here in Winter Haven that is a mix of Cuban & Dominican and it was good. Since we don’t have many places that have what we had in Miami, it’s a great start. The husband is Cuban and wife is Dominican from South Florida and they bring the best of their cultures. They even use La Carretta Cuban Restaurant coffee from Miami. The roasted pork (6 hours cooking) had good flavor, the Serrano ham was tasty along with the cheese, pickles, mustard and the Cuban bread was good. Zuly had the omelet on Cuban bread and café con leche. Overall I give 4 out of 5 stars, will go back and try more as their menu grows and bakery goods.

Started going to Morena when she was at the Hippie Suitcase. Her food is always top notch and her service is immaculate! Everything I have tried has always been amazing but to me being a simple guy I loooooooooooooovvvveeeee the chicken croquetas! Thanks to my sister for putting me on Morenas Cafe for sure!

Polk county’s #1 in my opinion! I haven’t tried anything that i don’t love! Her cookies, cakes, and pastries are like no other I’ve ever tried . They are just the right amount of sweet and not overbearing. So many other bakers pay too much attention to the looks of the cake and not the texture or taste but Morena does it all! Literally mouth watering perfection. Her empanadas and flan are also to die for! Definitely a perk having her in our local community! I’ll always support this small family own business!

I ordered a cheesecake for my daughter's birthday... and hands down is the best we've ever tried in our life! It is perfect! My daughter says it makes you want to cry that's how amazing it is. The Dominican cake with pineapple filling is amazing, my mom says is her new favorite cake... We also ordered chocolate chip cookies and they are to die for...perfect texture and flavor!. You need Morena's Cakes in your life ♥️🙌🏻

If I could give Morena more stars, I would. I had called dozens of bakeries in the area to get prices and see if they could do the jungle look that I was going for for my baby shower, and not only was she within budget, but she helped give multiple ideas within my budget to really make sure I got the cake I really wanted. I was warmly welcomed by her husband on the phone, who was funny, nice, and the ONLY bakery that asked what flavor of cake I was looking for. Morena did a follow up with prices and ideas. She handled me being a mama bear texting with a new idea at 2am and was quick to hop on board. At the end she ended up giving me a two tier instead of one, and knocked my expectations out of the park. And flavor? EXTREMLY moist with the PERFECT amount of buttercream between each layer. The decoration was honestly the cutest baby shower jungle theme I’ve ever seen. I will 100% be back. She’s extremly friendly, cakes are DELICIOUS, and she is an artist when it comes to decorating the cake. If you’re debating between Morena and another bakery, go with Morena.

I ordered a few cake jars that were shipped to me and included a special personalized note, such a sweet touch. The wedding cake flavor is awesome, reminded me of toasted almond ice cream bars! The Italian Cream Cake I ordered from Morena's Cake and More, was to die for! First, the detailed decoration of the cake made your mouth water. Second, the taste was out of this world!! The cake was moist and literally melted in your mouth. It was rich and flavorable to say the least. Each person who tasted the cake asked where did I get such a delicious cake, and if they could have the website to order one for themselves. Third, the friendly warm customer service of Morena's Cake and More puts this Business over the top. I will never use another company for my cake needs.
