Original coffee house in DT Winter Haven. They make a great Cuban sandwich and have all kinds of pastries to go along with the drinks.

Finally a coffee house! I was so excited to find this establishment. The baked offerings were amazing. I bought 2 huge Cinnamon rolls, a bear claw, cherry cheese Danish and a Raspberry scone. All were beyond delicious. The smell of awesome coffee was in the air, what a delight. Great service here as well. We ❤️ Richards

Friendly staff. Cold brew, ice coffee, and frappe all tasted great! The bagels and multiple pastries were delicious. Worth a stop for morning needs.

My fiance and I decided to try this place out as we live nearby. I'll start by saying that the lady that took our order (Andie I think her name was) was very polite. That is about as far as I enjoyed the experience though. The food is not "bad", but I paid $10 for a basic club sandwhich. Nothing special- just toasted white bread, processed turkey, some paper thin bacon, a tiny bit of cheese, a slice of under-ripe tomato, and some mayo. Chips had to purchased separately. The drink, a strawberry smoothie was okay at best; it had very little flavor. The atmosphere was pretty good- it wasn't crazy loud or busy. In total though, it was $42 for the two of us to each have a small sandwhich, chips and drinks. Nothing really special about the place, just seems like any other little cafe with overpriced and underwhelming items.

I have been going here for 4 years now and I love it. I love the small coffee feel, the nice employees, and the amazing coffee and food. I was able to bring my daughter this past week and she loved it as well.

We stopped by durning the beers and bubbly event recently. We were given a brownie which was super good. What impressed me the most was the story behind the new owners. We spoke to the owner’s husband and he gave us the background story of how they came to be the new owners of Richard’s. It was heartwarming. He explained about how they wanted to keep the menu and prices the same but also added some new items to accommodate those who like refreshing drinks as well as treats children would like. The pride in his voice as he spoke with us was endearing. If I am in town I would definitely visit and support their business.

We went there for the Cuban sandwich. I was disappointed. The sandwich was excellent. The pastries very tempting and delicious. The employees were very friendly and attentive. The whole atmosphere was very relaxing, which is what would be expected because it's close to the library.

Coffee is amazing and Cuban sandwich is the best

Update one week later: Richard's coffee is no longer bitter. I guess it was just a one off thing. Richard's is recently under new ownership. I'm not sure if this is a temporary mistake or a permanent change by the new owner, but they burned the coffee this morning. My Triple Caramel Frappe with two added shots of espresso was much more bitter than normal, and there weren't any flakes of ice like normal, which implies that the coffee went in hot enough to melt all of the ice. My colleague's Cafe Au Lait was also noticeably bitter to her, and the cup itself was so hot I could barely stand to hold it. I hope this is a temporary error and not some cost-saving measure or personal flavor preference of the new owner.

Has really nice matcha and the employees are really nice, clean environment, and good service speed. Love going here after going to the library.

I usually go here on the weekends, staff is extremely friendly and always helpful if you cant make up your mind on the awesome selection of pastries. Coffee is exactly what you would want when you ask for it, no weirdness just pure joy in cup haha

Red eye is on point and their sausage egg and cheese croissant! We love it!

This has now become my favorite coffee spot. The service is beyond excellent. I’ve been here when they are busy and the lady’s treat every customer with respect. They all are very welcoming and friendly. They have a great variety of delicious treats, sandwiches, coffees, and more. There is indoor and outdoor seating. You can always take your order to go as well. The desserts are very rich in flavor and you have the option of getting your desserts warmed up. I look forward to returning and trying out more of these delicious treats and items on their menu. 10 out 10

Very good atmosphere with large outside seating. Ordering by size is like Starbucks. Overall not bad coffee, a tad pricier than most and had a burned taste. Good seasonal options available. This would not be my first option in Winter Haven.

Very nice located at the library you can look at books and then get your coffee. The workers were very sweet it was my first time there so they explained how they make there special drinks and showed me something I mite like. They had pastries and seating outside or inside very nice.

I ordered a Vienna latte and got a chai latte or chai tea 22 minutes after ordering. The ladies at the counter were too busy to give a smile, a good morning or thank you. Despite all that, my drink was tasty but not what I ordered. After taking a sip of the drink she handed to me, 2 minutes later or less she came back with my actual order and motioned to me that it was ready. She plunked it down on the counter and just left it there. Another customer who noticed the Mix up motioned to her that I received her order.

Nice spot for some coffee! Large variety of pastries and baked goods! There was plenty of different coffee options as well!. Everything tasted great. Ample seating inside and outside on the terrace. Love that it's close to the center so you can walk around and shop.

I frequent this place a couple times per week. They're always accommodating when I request special orders. Good scones, bagels, cinnamon bread, Cubans, and sweet coffee drinks. I look forward to picking up a coffee treat here.

Maybe I'm biased, because I'm a Richard's loyalist. Richard's is that neighborhood coffee shop every neighborhood should have. I walk in and my order is being rung up and don't need to say a word other than "Good morning!". Before I can walk away from the register my coffee is sitting in front of me. Now, my order is simple so those of you that want the mocha fropa frap Frappuccino lattes with steamed milk may wait slightly longer. But we'll worth the wait! Their pastries, breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches are equally amazing! Especially their cuban!!

We moved from here 3 months ago. We still come here when we drive back to the area. This is one of our most favorite coffee shops. The girls serving are excellent and the white chocolate mocha is tge best!!!

I recently moved into the area and WOW! This is the second time I go and it’s delicious to say the least. The food is fresh every time and their matcha is chefs kiss! Coffee is awesome as well. So happy to have a local coffee shop so close to my new home :)

great coffee and great food the only thing i didn't like is I paid for a large ice latte, and they gave me a smaller one and when i noticed and told them they just topped me off with more milk. I felt brushed off instead of taken care of.

Good coffee, pastries and service, but people are allowed to bring in their non service dogs with them and take a seat inside instead of going outside where tables and seats are provided. Not good hygiene and against state health department regulations.

Website prices do not match in-store prices. Just be aware you’ll be paying more for breakfast sandwiches(and probably other things). Online price is 3.99 - but I paid 10.25 for two in-store. I’m happy to change my review when they update the prices online or put them somewhere visible in the store.

It was my daughter's birthday and after running some errands coffee was calling our names. We both had Iced Coffees but was drawn to the cake dishes filled with muffins, scones,crumb cake squares and much more. 2 crumb cakes went home with us. Once home we tried the cakes and they did not disappoint. I also loved my Toffee ice coffee. I think my daughter had white chocolate iced also. I usually sit in their quaint sitting inside but they also offer outside seating under the umbrella. Didn't see Richard this time but his staff does the job well at providing all you need at this Coffee Shop. I Love It!
